By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

BB good to see you back. Of course you're allowed to rant on this thread, everyone else does Xmas Grin Everything you're thinking is completely normal - I doubt there's a woman alive who hasn't followed the revelation of her pregnancy with some hard thoughts about what will happen in the future and how her life as a child will impact on her life as a parent.

My own family relations are pretty messed up, in a fairly benevolent way (lots of dreadful bereavements and secret-keeping etc etc) so you can bet I've asked myself all those questions too. I had no idea how I would feel about DS until he arrived, when I looked at him and thought 'oh...hello', and he gave me his old man's stare and went to sleep Xmas Grin

We work it out :) Mostly as we go along. It's what everyone does, regardless of what they like to claim.

NoMoreSnowPlease · 09/12/2010 16:10

BB good to have you back. Did you miss my non related melt down last night. You may indeed rant here. Having a baby is a massive head fuck no matter who you are I think. I was backpacking when I unexpectadly fell pg with DS. It took many months to get my head around the idea of being a Mummy (and living with my brand new boyfriend and not drinking booze like a booze fish etc etc etc..) and not just going where I wanted at the drop of a hat. But nearly 3 years on and I love being a Mummy and am even doing it again. You'll be fine.

And thanks for reminding of the thing I forgot to put in my last post. OI!TTL Xmas Grin (actually I'm still not good with fish so off to feel off now)

NoMoreSnowPlease · 09/12/2010 15:50

You guys always manage to make me smile Xmas Smile (look the hats are even back) We finally got water back on at 1pm this afternoon! I was feeling sick yesterday and all the stress of everything else going on just tipped me over the edge. Indulged in some pickled onion monster munch today and am now feeling a bit Envy sick for a different reason Xmas Grin

Eskarina Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin congrats on the (faintbutdefinatelythere)BFP. Keep us up to date and lots of sticky bean thoughts your way (and for Caz too).

Good news from your corner too Vallinna. Loving your tigger injection Xmas Grin

Nervous I'm glad you mentioned about OWO. I meant to say we'd had a JS baby. I wonder what she'll change her name too (as she now has 2!). Don't think there'll be live birth updates from this corner! Although how happy am I I'm having a Summer baby?! (No snow for me to deal with THANKYOU!) Xmas Grin

Loving all the weird dreams. (I'm not holding back, I just haven't had any)

Josie good to see you again and really happy to hear you have help at work now.

So besides Esk, who's next to test?

BrassicaBabe · 09/12/2010 15:43

Hiya All.

Sooooo much to catch up on! Mad cat behaviour and nasty sounding cherry bounty bars aside! GrinHmm

Yeah, Whoop and Congrats for BFP/VFP milano and eskarina!!! Bloody Marvellous news!

Sorry you are having a head fuck of a time sleepy Praying everything is ok for you.

Glad the clomid hit the spot miffs Nice "Shagging to order" too GrinWink

I think a newbie has snuck in and back out again in my absense too....

Yeah for follicle growth vallinna. Have done much crossing of appendages for you! Grin

Sorry if I've missed any important update. Slap me with the thread kipper if I have!

Well, no more spotting for me. nickel was right, just dirt Grin I'm struggling to get my head around the idea of being pg to be honest hence my disappearing act. I didn't get to 37 (and a half!) with no kids by accident. I never wanted them. I was married to someone from 30-36 who already had kids and deep down I knew he was a git it wasn't right. We split and I met my lovely DH who wanted kids. Seeing someone you love, who will be a great dad, want something changes you. So I whole-heartedly threw myself into TTC lark, got upset when it didn't worked and shagged like a military campaign Grin. I was mainly Angry because I'm a competitive control freak and couldn't get my body to behave. Well, now I'm updiffed and am wondering what the fuck I've done! HmmGrin I'm not just scared about the next 9 months, I'm scared about the next 25 years!! My mum and I get on on the surface, but years of not getting on have left their mark. I was a horrible teenager and rather than just assuming it was a phase and would pass my mum took it personally and held my behaviour against me. (I wasn't that bad, just full of the usual attitude and didn't want to spend time with her) Anyway, I'm scared of bringing someone into the world and replicating mistakes of the past. I'm scared if I lose my job I (redundancy is on the cards in the next year or so) I'll not be able to get another one and will be stuck in this rural backwater doing traditional "women" jobs on minimum wage. And that's not to mention the mess my body will be in and the mess my nice magnolia house will be in Grin I'm scared I will be bored, bored, bored with baby and will be a bad mother.

Am I allowed to rant like this on a TTC thread? Blush I'm not really posting on the ante-natal clubs so I don't feel at home anywhere else.

Sorry for self absored post Blush

vallinnapod · 09/12/2010 15:21

Nervous you reminded me...! My dream involved me having a baby boy who was very sweaty!? So I put him in a lighter outfit and then he and DH giggled together...

NervousNelly · 09/12/2010 14:46

Ha ha I had weird dreams too last night! First I dreamt that I'd just had a baby (wonder why I'm dreaming that??). It was a girl, her name was Emily. That's strange in itself, as the name reminds me of Helen Baxendale in Friends, and I hate her Angry. Anyway, said baby was 2 days old, I was back at work; was totally fine and no-one even seemed to realise I had been pregnant, so I had to tell someone I needed to go now as had to feed my baby. But I'd gone to work as she was such an angel and slept all the time Xmas Grin.

Then the second part was like some sort of weird Shutter Island/thought I was normal but was actually in a Mental Hospital. Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin.

Josie - my ERTD is due tomorrow. I can't say I've forgotten (see above dream!) but I've not been obsessing too much. Have no symptoms, just a very sharp tongue, which is most likely plain old PMT :(. Great news about the help at work, just what you needed!

Vallina well done for the continuing follicle generation! How exciting :). I agree with you - all the Creme Roses are the best. And anyone who disagrees is just wrong.

Eskarina - a line is a line!!!! Yaaaayyyy Xmas Grin. This has been a VERY fertile thread

Better get back to work. Going to have to go into the office tomorrow, rubbish. But at least it's warmed up enough to start the thaw today. We only get a few days reprieve apparently, but anything is better than yesterday being at -7 all day.

vallinnapod · 09/12/2010 14:07

Ha ha ha...'tigger injection'...bouncy bouncy

vallinnapod · 09/12/2010 14:06

Eskarina - ohhhh...waiting with baited breath for tomorrow's test Grin

Nickel - come join the wierd dream club. Mine was wierd last night too...but that's all I remember Confused!!

OK, the most important discussion going on...Roses! Any of the cremes are my FAVE! followed by, well any of them bar the chewy ones - they can go to hell Grin

Majorly embarassed myself at the clinic today by crying before my blood test. Yep, BEFORE! My arm still ached from yesterdays and both were really bruised so I was really apprehensive. Tried to tell the nurse this but just blubbed. Idiot. I then went on to have a completely pain free test...work that out!

Scan showing good growth and a good grouping of follies at the same size. Couple of biggies now which will just over ripe but a nice number in the middle. Lining at 7.1 Got given my tigger injection today (as in in a box, not injected!) which can only mean it may be soon. Fingers crossed - next week is a bitch of a week work-wise so it is bound to be then!

Uber sore boobs and starting to look a bit bloated so I hope they pop me soon!

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 09/12/2010 12:05

ERTD finished.

escape hope yo uhad a lovely birthday - I missed that yesterday. Blush

I had a bloody weird dream lst night - dreamt my family was getting ready for a night out and my dad gave me a pressie, which was a huge box of piss-sticks. I got all excited and wanted to try one out, even though I wasn't dressed and everyone else was ready to go. I chose one that didn't even look like a stick - it was really bizarre with lots of different attachments on it. I took out he bit I thought was the stick and had a go, but i couldn't work out the instructions.
then I went into the shower and forgot all about it (channelling from this thread... Hmm ) and when I came out, it was a weird green line.
but we had to go out and so I left the big pile of sticks on the bed and said I'd do it properly when I got back.

there.

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 09/12/2010 10:16

Josie so glad to hear you've got some breathing space at work at last :)

Eskarina YAYYYYY for VPF (but eeurgh for strawberry and coffee creams...you and I should share a tin of Roses, I hate those ones and love the orange ones and any caramels Grin)

JosieSmith1 · 09/12/2010 09:44

Morning everyone, have got loads to catch up on so will make a start this weekend

I am due ERTD tomorrow but only just realised Xmas Confused don't know how I missed 2ww! Sorry to all those suffering on it!

New girl started at work on monday and she's a god send! She knows her way around a comp and has picked up most of our duties when it normally takes people weeks to get the hang of the systems! Really takes the pressure off. Only negative is that she's just come back from maternity leave and her daughter is only 18 weeks and is gorgeous. I'[m not jealous, I'm not jealous..... Xmas Envy

takethatlady · 09/12/2010 07:52

eskarina I can't believe you posted about strawberry creams before your AMAAAAZING NEWS!!! You crazy lady!

VFP is BFP. My DH was the same because you could only see it under the lamp in our living room and not in broad daylight or under any other light, and only at a slight angle Xmas Grin. I even posted one of them on here and nobody could see the line. It was soooo faint. But I'm 11+3 so it was there!

Congratulations! All we need on this thread is for a few follicles (you know who you are!) to grow a bit more and we're all set!

Eskarina · 09/12/2010 07:49

Noooo I love strawberry and coffee creams. All that sugary goo!

Um. I tested. I got a VFP!! (ie very faint, not big and fat!) So faint that DH is adamant that it can't possibly count, but I think that's because he's in denial. Am I right in saying you can't get a false positive?
Now feel very perculiar, mostly also in denial! Also have read of so so many chemical pgs and early mc's that I don't want to get hopes up.
Will still go to scan but will mention it before she gets started.
Grin but also Confused

(sorry for copy and past job from bus thread, DH is telling me to get of MN and GO TO WORK!)

takethatlady · 09/12/2010 07:31

Ahhh ... ranking Roses. I am odd and love the orange cremes best. Then there's a quite newish truffly one in a turquoise wrapper which I like. Then the swirly ones with bits of nut in, then the caramel barrels. Strawberry and coffee cremes can go to hell Xmas Grin. If there were cherry ripes I reckon they'd be down there. Bounty is my most hated choc bar and cherry wouldn't help it!

nomore's furthest along sleepy Xmas Grin. Live labour! I'm still in quite a massive amount of denial that my baby will have to be born by labour. I am thinking that when I get to nine months if I prod my belly button or wriggle my nose a la Bewitched it'll just ping out magically into my arms, all clean and quiet ...

That happens, doesn't it??!

eskarina, back away from the pee stick. Turn round slowly with both your hands in the air ....

cremegg · 08/12/2010 23:35

I didn't like cherry ripes as a whole bar but decided in a box of roses they rate higher than strawberry cremes and turkish delights. :o

more ozzie food....burger rings are yum, and have a huge thing for vegemite as the mo. DH misses prawn cocktail crisps massively tho!

happy bday escape have a fab one!

milano well done for holding off on the testing for so long! yay again! how have you been feeling?

brightstar Dr doesnt sound too helpful, I was told not to bother going here, so have 1st appt next week so am hoping it will be informative!

hows crimbo shopping ladies? have gone online for nearly all here, so much easier, tho am panicking i wont even remember what ive ordered for who (have got it all delivered to parents places)

yay to school hols here now :o

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 08/12/2010 22:20

milano thanks for your advice - looks like Sorrento is on the map for us :) Need to get cracking on actually sorting it now...

to everyone else, I am keeping up but haven't much to say for myself at the moment. Saw doctor today to make it all official, waste of bloody time as always - 'are you taking folic acid?' 'yes' 'do you smoke?' 'no', 'great, keep doing that, make an appt with the midwife for 9 weeks gestation' Hmm Am now anxious that I've jinxed it.

Off to bed before I bore you all to tears.

Eskarina · 08/12/2010 21:21

Happy birthday escape

SleepyCaz Have everything crossed for you.

I'm madly symptom spotting. ERTD due sometime soon, but I'm trying to convince myself that it's reasonable to test tomorrow (13DPO) so that I know where I am with this scan. Usually get to 16 or 17DPO before ERTD shows up though so it would be early. But am proud of myself for not opening my one remaining clearblue test today and not peeing on it. I did stand next to my drawer saying "step away from the stick. Put it down and no-one gets hurt" Grin before I convinced myself to wait. Have told DH I'm not hopeful this month, and I wasn't. But have had weird crampy pains really low down in abdomen for last 2 days, am ravenously hungry and could easily convince myself that boobs are sore.

NervousNelly · 08/12/2010 20:51

Miffles - what's RIGHT with Mariah Xmas Shock. She does my head in! However I suspect my love of Coldplay will garner equal outrage so I'll let you listen to Mariah in peace Xmas Wink

TTL isn't it normal for MS to ease about now? Anyway, what miffles said Xmas Grin.

Happy birthday escape - sorry I forgot earlier Blush. Hope you had a drunken fun one. Think you said it was your 30th. Don't be depressed about it - I'm nearer 40 than 30 these days. Now that IS depressing Hmm.

Sleepycaz I totally missed your post earlier. Fingers and toes crossed for you. It's a bit of a mill this TTC lark isn't it? As others have said, we're here for the good and the bad - it's kinda like a marriage :)

Is being REALLY REALLY cold a symptom of PG? No? Must be the fact it didn't get above -7 today then Xmas Sad. Am practically sitting in the fire trying to warm up. BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

OOOH I forgot to say I stumbled upon OnlyWantsOne's Labour thread. I don't think I joined until part 2, but was very excited to read of a JS Birth! Particularly as it was practically live "as it happened" Xmas Grin. That'll be TTL and Nomore soon (who'se furthest along?)

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 19:56

Xmas Grin miffles. In the first place, you're right, and I need to pull myself together. (I sound like a whinging ungrateful cow but my prob is I'm tooo grateful and can't believe this is actually happening to me Smile). In the second place, PMSL at the random instructions to nobody-in-particular Xmas Grin

SnowMiffles · 08/12/2010 19:11

(oops...that was to TTL - looks a bit random on the new page by itself!!)

SnowMiffles · 08/12/2010 19:11

STOP IT. NOW. You have a little baby growing in you. Quit it with the worrying!!!! Xmas Wink

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 19:10

miffles well done on the prescription shagging Xmas Grin. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESCAPE! How rude of me to forget. Hope you're off getting your birthday shag in ...

miffles it's sadly a spew-free zone in my house at the moment. Apart from a bit of mozzarella on Monday night and a bit of bile this morning, I have barely been sick for days, and I like food again Xmas Sad. Don't have a bump, barely have a gag, worried I no longer have a baby! Xmas Shock

SnowMiffles · 08/12/2010 19:03

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESCAPE!!!!! Grin Grin

Hope you've had a more cheerful day. What have you done to make yourself feel special? It must be hard without your dad. Has AF arrived yet?

Good to hear back from Cremegg. Glad all going well with you. TTL will be very jealous at your lack of ms, I'm sure. She's be spewing for the lot of us!! Xmas Grin

Vallinna - maybe ask DH for a massage. Or at the least a hot bath with candles and a glass of wine. Can totally understand not wanting more needles Xmas Confused

to NMCB - some days are down days. Some are up days. Don't worry too much about the down ones, cos an up one will be coming along soon. xx

Morning shag was a success, so have completed doctors orders Xmas Smile Will put another one in on Friday to be sure. Reckon I will use OPKs next month, as I want to JS every day to cover bases, but not the best thing for DH.

And Nelly - what is so wrong with a bit of Mariah Carey?! Xmas Shock I love her "All I want for Christmas". Makes me feel so Christmassy!! Xmas Grin

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 18:56

Don't be nervous nervous I called a nice man at BT who invaded DH's computer and sorted it out. It was taking ages so he told me to put the phone down and he would type something on Notepad to tell me when he was ready for me to check at my end.

Waited for about half an hour, watching Weakest Link, DH came in and we both fell asleep. When we woke up 30 mins later the computer was all re-booted and virus free but no message from computer guy. Only when I actually started doing things on the computer did he call up ... no idea if I left him hanging for half an hour!

Cherry Ripes sound both disgusting and like a bad sex euphemism. Urrrgh! Burger ring on the other hand ...

Oh nmcb have any snack of your choosing. Really sorry you're feeling so down. Whatever it is you seem like one strong viroid to me and I'm sure you'll pull through. Hope at least that your hot water is back on and you can have a nice (not too hot) bath, maybe a cheeky half a glass of wine, and bawl your eyes out until you feel a bit better. Lots of hugs ... Sad and Smile

vallinnapod · 08/12/2010 18:47

PMSL TTL - Shock at the random preggo 11 yr olds!

A Cherry Ripe is basically like a cherry flavoured Bounty, covered in dark chocolate and sold in Ozland. Sounds gross and I am sure if they did them over here (at prices that didn't require a mortgage!) then I wouldn't like them so much ut I have a very romanticised view of them thanks to visits to Oz and Aussie friends :)

NMCB :( huge huggles. I know the feeling. Nothing feels like it's going right but it will pass. It just feels like a black hole at the mo xxxx

Was meant to be at Acupuncture tonight, which I find reall relaxing and not at all painful but the thought of more needles made me postpone to Saturday :(
