By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Hi josie glad you can chat on here :) I accessed counselling through uni as I was still studying then. But I'm pretty sure you can do it through your GP - especially if you might be suffering from some sort of depression too. That's not something I have any experience of except that I frequently have students with depression (especially when I worked at Cambridge - people put so much pressure on themselves there) and I know from seeing them that there are lots of ways out to the other side :)

If it's any consolation you're one lovely viroid and it sounds like you have a lovely DH too. I've got no doubt you'll get through it and be bouncing your new baby about in the sunshine (real and metaphorical) very soon!

If I'm anything to go by you'll be flashing your boobs in Wetherspoons in no time Wink Grin

JosieSmith1 · 17/12/2010 10:32

TTL that sounds exactly like me. With family and close friends I?m very loud and speak my mind but with most people I just can?t let the real me come out if that makes sense. I?m not myself at all. I think that?s a good idea, can I ask how you accessed counselling?

Miffles hope the boob poking is a symptom? Thanks for your comments too, just typing it on here and people saying they?ve been through similar or know someone who?s been through similar is making me feel so much better. I feel like there?s a dark cloud hanging over me but it?s lifted a little

Vallinna sorry you?re uncomfortable and bloated, it?s all for a good cause though. Sorry you didn?t sleep and rushed to get ready for nothing, I bet you were fuming! ((hugs)) And I will be here on 30th, waiting with my fingers crossed for you! And I am sooooo jealous of you going to Olympia, I have never been but always wanted to. Been to Horse of Year Show a few times but Olympia was the next one I wanted to visit. You?ll have to tell me aaaaalllllll about it when you get back

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 10:26

Sorry you're uncomfy vallinna - but PMSL at answering the door after you dreamt the bell went off!

Yep miffles after I had the counselling (4-5 years ago now) I was unleashed lol!

vallinnapod · 17/12/2010 09:49

Oh Josie, I echo the other viroids. I think it is partly the feeling everything is out of your control too. A couple of jobs ago I got myself in a real state every Sunday night i dreaded the next week so much.

Didn't sleep again. Quite uncomfy from all the procedures of the past week, very bloated from the swelling they have caused (and the delightful Cyclogest no doubt) so struggle to get comfy. As a result, bit DH's head off when his snooze kept going off. Then got back to sleep to here the door bell go, rushed to get it only to realise it was a dream.... The door bell, not the rushing! Grrr!

On a happy note, of the horse show at Olympia tonight! Very excited!

PS miffs not ignoring your symptoms, just keeping things crossed!

josie sounds like you're having such a tough time. Could it be that work is just not right for you - is there anything else you could go for? Sounds like a trip to the docs might be a good plan - even just to set your mind at rest. I had a bit of counselling a few years back for shyness. It used to get right on my nerves because I was quite bloody loud and happy and confident with my close friends and family but felt like my personality just went missing with new people. I only went to six sessions and it seemed to just unlock whatever it was that was holding me back and now I never feel shy at all, which comes in very handy at work and makes me feel much better able to deal with things. The counselling was just very practical - I had to make a diary of times I felt shy so I could see what triggered it, think of practical tactics I could use to overcome it, etc, and try them out. Within a few weeks I never thought of it again. Maybe that would help you? (I know your feelings/issues are different, but still ...)

JosieSmith1 · 17/12/2010 09:15

TTL that?s fantastic, bet it was a great moment for you and DH. Enjoy your alcohol free xmas party

SantaB2B sorry you have to go alone but hope your scan is ok

I?m so sorry to keep complaining but I?m having such an awful time at work. The new girl is here and she?s fab (except for the jealousy of her new baby) but the new senior isn?t, to put it plainly. I think it?s just a personality clash but she?s very nit picky and I?m too shy and quiet to say antyhing when she complains about something. Don?t get me wrong, I like her a bit as a person, just not as a boss. She can be quite arrogant. I was awake most of last night thinking about it and eventually cried myself to sleep (I?m pathetic I know). I feel a bit like going to the docs and getting something to bring my mood up. I do tend to have phases when I?m miserable and struggle to cope but I usually come out of them but it seems they?re more and more often at the moment. Ever feel like you just can?t do anything right?

Anyway, enough complaining from me (again)

Hope everyone is good and ready for xmas xx

SnowMiffles · 17/12/2010 09:01

if I push my boobs, they hurt....

SingingMog · 16/12/2010 21:26

A long time ago I used to have pierced nipples, so can imagine your pain TTL Wink

Will try to be around on 30th for Vallinna's testing. Make sure to let us know for the scan sb2b like TTL put.

Loving Miffs summary too. Just wait to test until you can't bear waiting any more. Will prob end up being before AF due, but if you do manage to wait you'll feel strong-willed.

DH has been playing football today, just texted to say he's knackered. Not good. He'll have to snap out of that when he gets in!

takethatlady · 16/12/2010 21:12

Xmas Sad for the sore arses nmcb and vallinna. Mine is surprisingly okay! Feel like I've hammered a load of nails into my nipples though!

miffles that's an amazing summary of the thread. PMSL Grin

santababy2b are you sure you can't postpone the scan? I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine and no need to worry this time, but I'd feel exactly the same as you. Let us know the time and I'm sure as many of us as possible will be on here to celebrate with you (not that we're a substitute for your DH)

Awww thanks nomore you're not so bad yourself Smile!

santababy2b · 16/12/2010 20:23

Given myself a good talking to and decided to go to the scan by myself (plus have my phone on the ready for mumsnetting). The dildo-cam isn't that scary and if something isn't right it would be better to know sooner rather than later. I nearly poured myself a glass of wine earlier and then remembered why I was stressed Confused

Vallinna sorry to hear you have this nasty cold. I have just got over it and it's not pretty.

I peaked at the ante-natal group board today and the month of August is packed. Don't feel brave enough to join yet!

SnowMiffles · 16/12/2010 19:47

Hey all!

Wow - so much going on! I'm not even going to attempt to keep everyone straight. But we've had amazing Christmas do's that make the rest of us Xmas Envy; implanation of 2 little embryos who are going to get super comfy and grow and Grow and GROW!!! And not fall out with sneezes; 2 scans showing healthy beans with arms and legs and heartbeats and EVERYTHING! What else....driving tests passed; JSing enough to sprain a muscle; not such nice news about DH missing out on scan (can it be delayed a few days, Santababy?); dirty sex talk and Mummy's actually having free time. Oh and the discovery of a new land - Viroidia

Not much news from my end. Been busy at work, so not even been able to read the last few days.

Had my blood test yesterday, but no results til next week (21 day progesterone to see if I ov'd). Seeing consultant next Tuesday, which will be CD28. Assuming clomid has put me on a 28 day cycle, I can't decide if I want to test then or not.....would actually rather wait until AF arrives. But if I am pg, then it would be better to say that to the consultant on Tue! But I don't want to even get my hopes up to think it'd work first time. So...dunno!! I know you'll all want me to test. You're a bad influence!

(really am so so happy that Vallinna has had 2 embryos implanted. You have so earned it!!)

vallinnapod · 16/12/2010 19:32

Oh TTL how exciting!! Love that the bambino was chilled out on it's first TV appearance!

I feel the same re: good news on here. In RL I have been getting Sad and Envy at PG news where as on here it is almost earned (for want of a much better word and not to sound incredibly horrible in relation to the RL peeps)

Mog hope your DH's leg has recovered!! Men, eh? Sounds suitably acrobatic!

LOL NMCB I echo the sore bum - sore and bloated from egg collection...hurts to, errr, pass wind even. Reckon the cyclogest pessaries have bunged me up too!

Oh Santababy can it be postponed a couple of days so he can be there?

My cold is now full blown manflu complete with pints of snot and the Madge Bishop voice...

PS Testing on 30th....

santababy2b · 16/12/2010 18:51

No, everyone is working and I havn't really told anyone about the bfp yet anyway.

Not a lot I can do. Hot chocolate sounds really nice though :)

SingingMog · 16/12/2010 18:20

Don't be sorry santababy2b, no wonder you are upset. Have hugs and cups of hot chocolate. Is there no-one at all who could go with you?

SingingMog · 16/12/2010 18:13

Oh Vallinna that sounds amazing, plus you have a picture :) I agree, make sure you cross your legs! I hope you remain sane throughout the next 14 days Wink

Glad you are relaxing now TTL, know what you mean about RL and Viroidia (that would be the name of our country if we had one).

Nickel sorry I am confusing you! Don't mean to. Kipper me if you wish Grin I also explained to DH about pant snot, but I didn't get the same reaction as you did; got told I was gross!

CD16 and have no idea if I've ovved or not. FF is just confusing!

santababy2b · 16/12/2010 18:04

Really upset tonight as my other half isn't going to get back, from working abroad, for my early scan. He is really worried, so I have told him it's ok and I don't mind. Don't want to make him feel bad when there is nothing he can do about it.

Very nervous as I went on my own last time and it was a disaster. :{

Sorry for the rant

NoMoreSnowPlease · 16/12/2010 17:47

Yay Vallinna 2WW bunting and a not at all dodgey bung to keep them in there. Xmas Grin

Nickel I confuse myself most of all these days! And sadly I can only see it getting worse in the near future.

TTL you're so sweet. We don't know you in RL either, but in viroid land you're a proven source of amusement and wit (if a bit wiffy from all the kippers).

My boobs hurt, but at least my bum seems to be less painful.

takethatlady · 16/12/2010 16:14

Thanks milano :)

Just realised my last post looked a bit rude ... I meant to say even though I don't know you ladies in RL I really feel I do on here and feel genuinely happy and excited when you all have good news Xmas Smile

milanomum · 16/12/2010 15:53

Vallinna - SO excited for you!
TTL - excellent news!
Quick sneaky from work...

XX

takethatlady · 16/12/2010 14:33

Woohoo! Today is such an exciting day on this thread. vallinna how does it feel to be on your first 2ww? And to have a picture too?! I am genuinely chuffed and excited for you ... sad, I know, as I don't know you, but we've been on this thread about the same amount of time (yonks!) and it'll be a great day when you're upduffed (and hopefully only 14 days away Wink)

Plus josie's getting both sloshed and chauffered, which is the best way a night out can be in my book, and nickel's getting the weirdest dirty talk I've ever heard Xmas Grin. Bunting all round!

Finally, I had my scan and it was lurvely :) The baby has 2 arms (behind its head), 2 legs (crossed), a head with an actual brain in it, it still has a heartbeat, and appears to all intents and purposes to be alive Xmas Shock Xmas Grin. DH was very luvvy-duvvy in the waiting room and he went all red during the scan Smile. The nuchal measurement was 1.4mm which is great. I also gained a day which puts me back where I thought I was exactly - 12 weeks 4 days, due 26th June. So hopefully I've had my last thread kipper because I can actually definitely relax now and stop being a mentalist. Well, sort of. You know what I mean!

Hope everybody else is having an equally nice day :) Going to my work Christmas party later even though it's 60 miles away ... have told people at work now and have a gorgeous sparkly blue dress which always used to be too big for my bust but - hey presto! pregnancy magic means it now looks great :)

JosieSmith1 · 16/12/2010 14:00

Fab news Vallinna! I always thought that if I found out I was pg I?d worry about sneezing or coughing making it fall out! Me and best mate were discussing it and we both agreed that if either of us became pg we wouldn?t want to wear a skirt incase it fell out Xmas Blush

Nelly I am at the same stage, plus as DH can drive now I can get totally sloshed at best mate?s birthday party this weekend and be chauffered home Xmas Grin

Thanks for the reverse psychology NoMore, it WILL work Xmas Grin

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 16/12/2010 13:17

Ooooooh vallinna I am so excited, sending lots of implantation vibes to you :) :) :)

nickeldonkeycarrymary · 16/12/2010 12:57

cross your legs when you cough then! Xmas Grin

vallinnapod · 16/12/2010 12:56

Just a quickie from the iPhone as in a cab off for more acupuncture (having had my first session today at 7:30!)

So two embryos in, making themselves at home I hope. They were both above average so fingers crossed. I have a cold so have already sneezed and coughed and panicked in case that made them fall out Wink

Even got a piccie! Obviously you can't see anything but the little bit of fluid that the embryos were suspended in, but it looks like a little starburst Smile
