By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

. Hope you feel better soon - counselling is a great idea. Drinking not so much - it was my Christmas lunch yesterday so am suffering the effects a bit. All I can say is Pepto Bismol is wonderful stuff. I thought for a bit I had alcohol poisoning as my arms and shoulders were sore, but then remembered there was some quite energetic Ceilidh dancing going on which explains the aches and pains. I did manage some boozy JSing though! As I'm only on CD6 or something it's a bit too early for anything but Just Sex so I will dust off halo and await applause for my rule following Xmas Smile. Anyway it was OH's reward for staying at work till 10pm to take me and 3 other drunken bums home. (I know 10pm sounds early, but we did start at 3 Xmas Wink]

OOh should perhaps just clarify, we did drop the other 3 people at their own houses. We didn't invite them round to ours for some very naughty orgy-fest JSing. That'd be WRONG WRONG WRONG (certainly when you take into account these 3 particular individuals Wink ).

Aaaannyway....

I am totally excited for Vallina's little pods. EEEEK Xmas Grin. I am keeping everything crossed. Such a shame you aren't sleeping though, it's so bloody frustrating. Maybe a milky drink before bed time. I would suggest a hot bath, but have this (possibly made up) old wives tale in my head about it not being good for the Linna Pods. Did I make it up? Confused. Did you manage to freeze any of them? The eggs, not the milky drinks Hmm.

Yeah for Santa and TTL having good scans, this is Most Excellent News. It must be a very surreal moment. I think I'd cry (but yes also be like Rachel and pretending I can tell exactly what I'm supposed to be looking at but really just seeing snow). TTL I am a bit Envy that you are buying little things! But v v happy for you obviously Xmas Grin.

Gold star to SingingMog for the Shagging like Rabbits prize. If effort alone is enough, you're surely going to get a BFP Grin

Thanks for the present Miffles. It was a good choice! .

Hope you feel better soon Nomore - don't know much about this particular acronym but have seen it on lots of posts on here and it sounds sore Angry.

Hope both sleepy and BB are out there and doing ok in lurker mode. Hugs to you both (well ok, all of you then :))

I know I've missed loads of things, but I did re-read the previous pages before I started this. Sorry for those I've missed. Off to go and eat again - have the post-drinking munchies Xmas Grin.

vallinnapod · 17/12/2010 16:24

BB I am so sorry (and to everyone else for that matter) to have been so self involved I missed things :(

santababy2b · 17/12/2010 16:15

Hey, Josie I am first aid trained, so let me know if you need anything! Seriously though, hope you are ok?! Just realised I missed a page of messages before I posted. Sorry you have been feeling down, lots of good advice from the viroids though. x

JosieSmith1 · 17/12/2010 15:52

I have just bitten into a choccy biscuit with almonds in. I've never eaten an almond. That's because I'm allergic to them. If I don't post for a while it may be because I've gone into anaphylactic shock. Watch this space... Xmas Grin

SantaB2B so glad your scan went well and the worry should now be behind you

Thanks SingingMog, the support of the viroids in viroidia is invaluable! Xmas Grin Seriously though, thank you all

santababy2b · 17/12/2010 15:46

Just home from my scan and there is a little 'smudge' in the right place. Thankfully she printed me an enlarged pic as I was beginning to feel like Rachel from Friends Grin. I have another follow up scan next Thursday to be on the safe side, so hopfully will be able to see heartbeat. Can't believe how wonderful the hospital are. Thanks for all the support, I got myself into a right state last night.

Nomore that sounds awful, hope there is something they can do. I wasn't watching pregnancy programmes the other day Blush and so wouldn't have seen a belt thing being used for support, the women said she felt better as soon as she put it on.

BB there is thread in the pregnancy section with about 20 or more women saying they feel/felt exactly the same as you. Hope you are ok, we miss you!

and wine to anyone else who needs it.

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 15:37

LOVE Viroidia btw!

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 15:37

LOVE Viroidia btw!

SingingMog · 17/12/2010 15:17

Thank goodness for that, home from school now and two weeks of holiday ahead! Have also just discovered pant-snot, so now waiting for DH to get home.... texted him to tell him to hurry up, but then heard his phone go off. Yes, he left it at home, typical Hmm!

LOL at all the boob pokage Grin

Josie I think you are right to think about seeing someone if you are feeling that bad, and don't worry about telling us how you feel (good or bad) the viroids of Viroidia will support you as much as poss.

Is there anything you can do to ease the pain NoMore?

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 14:54

bb came on last week vallinna after she'd not posted for a week and said it was because she had freaked out a bit about the baby/reality had hit home and she's worried about work and other things. She hasn't posted since. Hopefully she's just off doing great Christmassy things and too busy to post!

vallinnapod · 17/12/2010 14:50

Cryptic post TTL (or did I miss something?) in any case, come back BB!

Uber snowage here!

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 14:43

Wondering how bb is too as she's still quiet and worried she may be really regretting her position at the moment. If you're lurking bb just want to say I really don't think anyone here would think any the worse of you for having doubts or second thoughts, even though we've all been on/are on the JSing mission! Perfectly natural and understandable in my book ...

I have GOT to do an absolute mountain of work before Christmas but ... but .... so many distractions!

SnowMiffles · 17/12/2010 14:33

Milano - are you poking my boobs or yours? Xmas Wink On clomid...CD23, and think ov would be about CD14...so 9DPO. But not temping or OPKing so can't be sure.

milanomum · 17/12/2010 14:15

SantaB I totally understand how you feel because I had to go to my scan alone too. You just have to believe that it's going to be fine, the way we all do!

Vallinna I am just so excited for you! there is nothing i wish more for you this Christmas than a big fat positive!

miffles How many days dpo are you?

TTL Those "couple of little things" will turn into 'mountains of things', you wait and see!

Josie It sounds like you have so much on right now and I really feel for you. I think you are absolutely right to get support to get through the rough times.

Snowing here...a lot! Hoping it means no work for me tomorrow, but I think that's just wishful thinking!

SnowMiffles · 17/12/2010 13:53

I was thinking that for you, Vallinna - that your 2ww should be shorter as you were implanted yesterday as opposed to us ov'ing at the start of the 2ww. Ok...what I mean is I totally get what you mean!!

vallinnapod · 17/12/2010 13:49

Oh, NMCB - sympathies!!

BrightStar ...ohh! I LOVE you got your BFP on the 30th! Fingers crossed here!

So far, so completely un-neurotic about the TWW...honestly! Even though I worked out 14DPO is actually 27th I will be holding myself back until the day I was told to test! (Based on EC day as the day of ovulation...which means you calculate EDD as 38 weeks from then too)

SnowMiffles · 17/12/2010 13:23

Just wondering how Sleepycaz is....you out there honey? No worries if you're lurking, but am afraid that's cos you've not had good news. Hugs your way.

JosieSmith1 · 17/12/2010 13:13

Hee hee, I promise I won't sue you TTL Xmas Grin, now can I have some wine please...

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 12:56

Oh good god I meant PSD not PND ... totally different things. Sorry!

Loving miffles's gift - thanks! I'm sending all those who need them mahoosive BFPs, and virtual wine all round. Maybe not for josie though, 'cos she might sue me as an accessory when she gets sacked!

JosieSmith1 · 17/12/2010 12:51

I thinking drinking is a great idea! Not only will I not care what she thinks, I'll tell her what I think, then DH can come and chauffeur me home Xmas Grin Sounds like a perfect remedy!

SnowMiffles · 17/12/2010 12:39

nomore - PSD, that's the pelvic joint thing...my sister (30 weeks pg) has self-diagnosed herself with that! Sounds nasty though. Can you take or do something, or have you got to put up with it for the next 6 months? Xmas Shock

Loving TTL's suggestion of drinking to overcome shyness. Not sure it's a the best one for a situation with the boss though!!

truffkin - glad you understand too. That BFN really is the meanest thing. No matter how much you expect a BFP, it's always BFN. Well - not forever, obviously!! Here's to the next one.

Laughed out loud in Boots yesterday. They were selling Gu desserts as a gift pack. So of course I bought one each for you all. Will wrap them and put them under the thread Christmas tree. Xmas Grin

takethatlady · 17/12/2010 12:31

Glad you like your new colleague josie - always helps :) I wondered about SAD too. nomore totally agree about travelling - also forcing yourself to do all the things you want to do but that make you feel uncomfortable until you don't worry about them anymore, and drinking wine Xmas Grin. Maybe not at work though Smile

So sorry about the PND again nomore - hope it gets better soon.

OOh truff if you learn swanky eye make-up teach us all! I have a friend who does the MOST amazing eye make-up I've ever seen but she only does it quite rarely (she wears a headscarf at all times and doesn't usually wear make-up. But when she does it's FANTASTIC) - I have been begging her to teach me for ages. At the moment I've got a mascara which leaks all over your face if you blink up to half an hour before applying it, and all my eyeshadows are running out and boring.

Feel totally chilled now after the scan - thanks! And off to buy some sneaky tiny things tomorrow. I don't care what they are, as long as they're really really really small :)

JosieSmith1 · 17/12/2010 12:20

My goodness I didn't realise so many people were like me (I mean that in a good way!)

I remembered last night (then forgot again) that the service have a counselling service, might get in touch with them. I wondered about SAD NoMore, it's certainly been worse since the dark days came in , I actually cried when the snow first arrived

The good thing is that I get on really well with the new girl, what we were saying about being ourselves with close friends but not with people we don't know, but I seem to have clicked with her and feel quite comfortable when it's just us in the office, we can have wuite a good laugh

NoMoreSnowPlease · 17/12/2010 12:04

Oh Wow I'm not alone in the loud with those closest to me, but horribly shy and quite around everyone else, stakes! Josie I totally know how you feel and I'm liking the suggestion of counselling. Is it possible you have a touch of SAD(seasonal affective disorder) making things worse? I tackled my shyness with the unconventional method of international travel alone. It put me right out of my comfort zone and forced me to meet new people. Sadly having DS whilst still travelling did knock my confidence a bit, but I'm working on that.
I hope you find a solution that suits you xx

Vannilla I almost wish my bum hurt due to being bunged up again (I could just down a few prunes), but it's actually my PSD playing up and the joint that's painful is right at the top of my right butt cheek. I end up hobbling like an old woman! That's what I get for walking around on uneven ice covered footpaths.
Really hope you debung and decold soon so you can truely enjoy your 2WW.

Lots of snuggley [fbears] all round.

Truffkin · 17/12/2010 11:58

Good morning lovely people of Viroidia! Grin

Gosh it's only been a couple of days since I was last here and there has certainly been a fair amount going on. I can hardly keep up!

Santa sorry about your DH not making it back for the scan, hopefully the virtual presence of the Viroids can get you through it (and as we're all so certain it will be a lovely positive experience anyway, there will be nothing to worry about!) Could you perhaps mention to the nurse that you are a bit nervous given your experience and because DH isn't there? It might make a difference if she knows how you feel.

Vallinna even though you have man flu and are suffering all sorts of horrors, I am still soooooo excited for you, such great news about the 'above average' little beans. I have absolutely everything crossed for you, New Years Eve could be an extremely special night this year if you've just got your BFP and know that 2011 brings such happy events!

Miffy I totally get you on the preferring ERTD to arrive than seeinga BFN. I BFNd it big time a few months ago and although ERTD arriving is a bugger, it definitely beats looking at that bloody stick that's screaming 'no baby for you again' (well, that's how it seems at the time Grin ) Keeping my fingers crossed for you though, sounds like promising symptoms so far.

TTL scan sounds wonderful, I really hope you can enjoy yourself now without any worries (I know this is easier said than done!) and start buying lots of tiny baby things.

Josie so sorry you are feeling down at the moment and like the others have suggested I really think some professional support might help you right now. Your GP can help refer you for counselling and does your employer have an Employee Assistance Programme? Someone like the probation service should have something like that I would think. Where you are struggling to cope with a specific situation, CBT can sometimes help. Have a look at this link here for some basic advice, there are also some really good self help tips on there too. Sending in the meantime. And look on the bright side, you have a wonderfull role model like TTL to aspire to!

So it snowed a little yesterday evening but I mean literally a tiny dusting on cars with nothing settling anywhere else. The forecast is of more overnight and we are supposed to be driving up to Birmingham tomorrow for a pre-Christmas night out with my pals. The forecast for the Midlands is heavier than London so am waiting to make a call in the morning if it's bad as I don't want to get stuck there! I am going for a 'colour consultation' in the morning before we leave and am not sure what to expect Confused It was a Christmas present from my BIL and SIL last year and I need to get it done before the end of the year so am cutting it a little fine Blush I'm hoping it is just a bit of fun and that I learn a bit about doing complicated eye make up as this would be a skill I'd love to have!

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 17/12/2010 11:43

Am at work so very quick but just wanted to say vallinna I got my first BFP with DS on 30th December. It's a very auspicious time Grin Will be keeping everything crossed for you.
