By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Sleepy hundreds of hugs xxxxx

Eskarina · 30/12/2010 08:53

VALLINNA !!! Wow congratulations. Will add treacle to the sticky thoughts being sent your way.

Sleepy so sorry to hear what your going through. Can only repeat what santababy says and say we'll be here for you if you decide to chat.

Nervous sorry you've got a nasty bug. Hope it passes soon.

Not much news here. Have had a manic christmas visiting family and friends. Have friends staying here now and it's my birthday today (29!) so we're going into London for a posh lunch and a trip to the Wildlife Photographer exhibition. Am fervently hoping that posh lunch includes things I can eat, although friends do know about pg after a comment of "are you sure you're not?" yesterday when I was looking particularly green!

santababy2b · 29/12/2010 23:05

Vallinna - congrats...just borrowed dhs iPad to see if u had tested!

Sleepy, I'm sorry u have had such a shit time of it. Do what u feel is right, but know we are here for you. Hope u are getting lots of tlc from dh and family and know u are allowed to feel like this no matter how many dc u have. Hugs

vallinnapod · 29/12/2010 23:04

Oh sleepy how scary. I really hope you are on the mind. What a stressful Christmas for you, 2011 can only improve and hopefully bring you the answers you need xxx

SleepyCaz · 29/12/2010 22:37

Vallinna :) Huraaaaaaaaay, amazing news.

Miffs and Mog that is a shame that it's not your month, next time I hope, ladies.

NN Yikes about the horrid bug. Your OH sounds like a star though.

I have had a lovely Xmas apart from spending boxing night in hosp on Misoprostil, due to being rushed in in the morning due to a MASSIVE bleed. They think there were still 'products and tissues' :( stuck in the neck of the womb/cervix, and this caused a huge bleed and an infection. Were all set to give me an ERPC, when they realised I had had 2 c-sections, whereupon they changed their minds as it was too risky, so gave me Misoprostil every 3 hours overnight to force a mini labour and push it all out. I'm not convinced it worked. Still bleeding heavily. This is 3rd MC, got laparoscopy scheduled for 5th Jan, to investigate other gynae probs from before I was preg. Feel like asking them to just take the lot out. Years of bleeding and pain and examinations and no answrs. Constantly terrified they'll find something horrendous on there, like cancer and am put off the whole idea of a third baby at the moment. Had results earlier of bloods done on Boxing day, and my HCG is not dropping, given that I MC-d 3 weeks ago, so my hormones are everywhere. Feel shit and crap and down. Poor DC's and DH. Feel like I can't moan about not conceiving, as I have two children and probably should count my blessings and be more tactful. But just feel so lousy/ill/afraid/hormonal/angry.

Sorry for ranting.

Hope you all had a wonderful Xmas and have an amazing NY.

I might not be back, it's not right for me to be on here, when I feel so off everything.

Love to each and every Viroid.

SingingMog · 29/12/2010 19:29

Poor Nervous, hope you are feeling better soon. That sound like a horrible virus to get :(

I have bought the ac now NoMore, but I really love licorice tea - had it on a conducting course I went on for a whole week at tea break a few years ago! Have never seen it in the shops though, where do you get it from?

I am feeling v odd at the moment. BFN was only on 8DPO & AF-like cramps now for about 3 or 4 days, but no sign of the fecker. Also my temp got higher this morning - odd stuff. Here are my charts (only done two, such a newbie!) if anyone wants a nosey: My Charts

vallinna IGNORE ALL MAGPIES!!

Miffs, there is always next month

Dynababy · 29/12/2010 11:32

Poor NN - sounds like you have a great husband though and the way he handled those jammies shows you he's ready for fatherhood!! Xmas Grin. Seriously, hope you feel better soon and if there is a wee fertilised egg you won't have done any damage I'm sure.

vallinnapod · 29/12/2010 09:51

Oh Nelly, not a very nice Christmas. Hope you are feeling better and that you can enjoy the end of the holidays.

STOP MENTIONING THE "T" WORD Wink My Clearblue only said 1-2 which makes me think maybe not twins, just because your HCG is so much higher with 2. I think I get a 7 week scan but I have a follow-up with my consultant on Jan 14 in any case (6+5). I do look 'bumpy' (read bloated). I normally have a flat stomach and nothing has returned to normal since the bloating/swelling from egg collection. I just keep everything crossed. I panicked today because I saw a single magpie outside [idiot emoticon]

Miffs completely get the niece thing. I didn't want to be near ours on Boxing Day. Some sort of odd jinxing thought process. Enjoy the wedding, think of all the free booze you can now exploit!!!

SnowMiffles · 29/12/2010 09:36

OH Nelly that is yuk yuk yuk and horrible for you! Sounds ghastly. I hope you sterilised your keyboard and don't cough at the screen - none of us want your germs!!! I wouldn't worry about the medication you're taking. If you have a fertilized bean in there, it won't have imbedded and doesn't actually share your blood cupply for 6 weeks, so you're in the clear.

Mog - sorry to hear it's not your month either.

ERTD has definitely got me. Well and truely. In style! Was at my grandparents for a big family do yesterday and felt so awful. Ended up crying on my mum as felt so rubbish. She know's we're having treatment and understood why starting my period was such a bummer. Couldn't bear to see my niece either, which is the first time. She's so cute, but I felt like I'll never have one of my own. Which is silly, I know. Still such early days.

Anyway, still really excited for Vallinna - when do you have your first scan? After all, it could well be twins! Thread twins whoop whoop!

Sitting watching Enchanted - so lovely!! DH back at work, and I'm off to a wedding later. So thought I'd indulge in some feel-good fantasy film!

NervousNelly · 28/12/2010 21:43

. Just been lurking on the phone for a few days. Yay for Vallina, here's some sticky bean stuff for you Xmas Grin.

Still hope for Miff and Mog surely?

Nomore hope you get a new house soon! And Josie hope your horse is feeling ok. C'mon and thaw already....

I have had a nice Christmas until yesterday. Started to feel a bit nauseous and decided it was MS (oh haha only 4DPO), however felt worse and worse as the evening went on. Went to bed just after 9 but couldn't sleep; at about 10 rushed to the loo throwing up very violently :(. This went on for a couple of hours, burning hot followed by ice cold, ghostly white face, pins and needles in my hands and feet, horrendous diarrhoea (sorry for the TMI), shivers, then about an hour of stomach cramps that had me screaming in pain. OH was a saint, running around fetching things and even putting my ahem - soiled PJs in the wash. He asked me what was wrong when I was screaming and I said "I feel like I'm having contractions" - which is weird given I've never given birth Hmm. T'was all pretty flipping horrendous. Discovered today my Mum had the sickness and brother the diarrhoea last night too, we have caught what looks like viral gastroenteritis from other family members over Christmas :(

Anyway I was a bit concerned as I took various medications last night that all say not to take during pregnancy, including Beechams tablets for the fever, pepto to try to settle my stomach and diarrhoea tablets. However as I'm only 5DPO today I'm sure it's all fine, as I wouldn't be up-duffed properly yet

Sorry for the yucky post! I am feeling ok now, slept most of the day and managed to eat a little bit, have been drinking a combination of Lucozade and peppermint tea (not at the same time!) so hopefully by tomorrow will be back to normal!

Hope everyone else is a lot better than me! Supposed to be going back to work tomorrow but don't think I will.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/12/2010 20:45

Excellent Excellent news Vallinna!!! fingers crossed those positives keep getting more positive.

Also Xmas Grin at BrightStar's poo jealousy.

Sad for Miff and Mog though. Dare I mention Miff that there are plenty of stories about the board of girls who don't get a BFP until well into their pregnancies?
And Mog I had an 11 day luteal phase too when I fell with this one I was looking at AC, but tried licorice tea. You only drink it once a day until you ovulate, then you have to stop (and shag instead Wink). I only took it for the 1 month and ov'd 2 or 3 days earlier than normal and well the rest is history.

Back home after nearly a week away and feeling a bit ho hum about being here. Looking forwards to a near year and a new house!

xxx[fbear][fbear] and champers/schloer for all

milanomum · 28/12/2010 16:15

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Vallina I am so excited for you!!!!!
That's the best bloody news!

mog and miffs :( not so great news. Go and get horrendously drunk. that's an order!

I'm off to my in-laws for new year and won't be back for a bit.
Happy new year to all you lovely Viroids! May 2011 bring many babies!
x

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 28/12/2010 15:41

vallinna just logged on to discover your news, wonderful marvellous awesome Grin I also have poo jealousy (bloody pregnancy constipation) but that's perhaps tmi at this point.

SingingMog · 28/12/2010 11:34

Oh and Josie glad horsey is OK. It rained yesterday here and is still spitting now, so a lot of our snow has gone in the space of 12 hours. Hopefully it will be like that for you soon.

SingingMog · 28/12/2010 11:33

YAY Vallinna!!!! That is excellent. Keep peeing on things Grin It might be twins...

I am joining Miffs in the BFN camp though, gave in and did one last night. DH is wanting to go ice skating (obviously feeling better) and so I said I'd better check as didn't want to think of a bean trying to hang on in there if I was falling on my arse every two seconds. Mind you, my tests are crap ones so will wait and see if AF turns up in a couple of days.

Also I am going to buy some agnus castus liquid (RL friend recommended) as it should give me a slightly earlier ov and longer luteal phase. Is about 11 days at the moment.

Dynababy · 28/12/2010 10:43

Whoop whoop valinna!!! So happy for you![Xmas Grin

Miffles that's a shame, hopefully ERTD arrives soon so you can try again soon

JosieSmith1 · 28/12/2010 10:34

Aw Miffles that's crap, sorry (hugs)

Vallinna that's fantastic news! Hooooge congrats

Horsey is a bit sore but ok. Her arthritic knee is a bit sore but once she can go out and be properly exercised again she shud come round ok. Still snow everywhere here in Newcastle but this wk is above zero so hopefully it'll b gone soon xx

vallinnapod · 28/12/2010 10:34

Miffs, it's not over until ERTD arrives. You could have ov'd much later on the Clomid. Any docs appts coming up?

SnowMiffles · 28/12/2010 09:56

Brilliant! You definitely are then. I'm definitely not. Another BFN this mrning, though still no ERTD. Nearly a week late. Grrr...

vallinnapod · 28/12/2010 08:52

My weeing on things continues unabated. Another cheapie last night that required lots of tilting and bright lights so DH got a bit 'meh'. Then did a Clearblue this morning and got 'pregnant 1-2'!!! Much excitement a la 'Podville x

SnowMiffles · 27/12/2010 16:54

Wow wow yay and yay to vallinna!! That is the best news!! Fingers crossed for the next few pees!

Dynababy · 27/12/2010 15:26

OOOOooooohhhhh Valinna it sounds promising - keeping everything crossed for you!! Its only faint but line is a line.. but understand you wanting to see what the digis say the next day or so. Xmas Grin

Well done miffs and mog for resisting the pee sticks - that's serious willpower!!

vallinnapod · 27/12/2010 15:07

I am completely unexcited at the moment. I think it's because I was naughty and tested early and as it is onlt faint. Just bought 2 digitals, one for tomorrow morning and one for Thurs so will keep you all posted :)

milanomum · 27/12/2010 14:34

ohmygodohmygodohmygod - a line is a line!

hope everyone had a great Christmas! miffles there's still hope... wait and see for a bit!

x

SingingMog · 27/12/2010 14:31

I am finding it hard not to test. I am not going to. I am not going to. I am not going to. I am not going to. Etc.

Think it is on my mind as staying in due to DH feeling "fragile" (his choice of word) so not much to do. Only need to wait three more days to see if ERTD shows up on 30th (CD27 and all cycles since stopping pill have been 29 days long), then I will test.

The weather was a bit better today escape, we have had rain! That means that the clouds above the north west at least are no longer frozen :o although snow is forecast again Biscuit.

Have been looking up slow cooker recipes, might try the new machine soon (when I can be bothered to move from slanket on sofa - is cold you see).
