Hey ladies

100 - that's GREAT news! yay! I'm happy for you. Smile

Bebe - sounds like you guys could have a really lovely weekend. I'm sure your OH will love the cake you're making him...he can't accuse you of being off with him when that beauty arrives!!!

With regards work...i know they'll just have to suck it up...but you know that queasy feeling you get when you think you just may cause some unintentional friction...

Strawberry - they could ask me to pay something back if i left early or didn't go back after maternity leave...but it won't be much at all because i'll have done almost a year post-qualification anyway and it's actually not even in my contract...so all's fair really. When i had my interview there they were of the opinion that i'll train, work a year there, then i can go off and do what i wanted with my qualification as they're a training practice and there's no guarantee they'd keep me anyway in order to keep students coming through the doors...however, many things have happened there over the last few months with staff and they're now relying upon me to practically run the place-unofficially...so i don't think they'd want me to leave...but hey ho...the one vet there is trying for a baby with his wife anyway...so surely he'd have some understanding of what's to be involved....although they've recently miscarried so i don't know when they'll try again which is a real shame as they're older now and i think they'd make great parents!

Sorry for the looooong rambling! Thank guys! xxx

JustShaggingForNow · 13/01/2011 21:52

wonderful news 100. I am so pleased that you got the reassurance that you needed from the EPU. :)

Has anybody else been watching GetOrfMoiLand's POAS threads these last couple of days? I have been avidly following (particularly tody as I am off sick) and it has made me all hormonal. I really really really hope that I have had a happy accident this month. Which will probably mean I spend the next week trying not to test and then AF appears :( I want a Baybeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

MrsSatsuma · 13/01/2011 21:48

Hooray!!! :)

100years · 13/01/2011 21:21

Thanks Nanny. :)

nannyl · 13/01/2011 21:20

really pleased to read that 100y Smile

100years · 13/01/2011 21:15

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for the delay, had to go back to work after the appointment. Then got home, fell asleep, had tea, puked a lot. Anyway....

Single intra-uterine pregnancy of about 6 weeks detected. Fetal heartbeat present :) All as it should be for this stage. :) Very pleased. Little lentil has a heart beat.

I'm very sick, have only kept a ham sandwich is me today. I'm off to bed in a minute once I've updated a few more people.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

bebejones · 13/01/2011 20:57

100 - Hope you are ok? x

Nannyl - That is exciting! Hope it goes ok? Usually just a lot of form filling, but still nice to get stuff organised, makes it seem more 'real'! :)

AmandaCooper · 13/01/2011 20:38

100years I hope you're alright.

MrsSatsuma · 13/01/2011 18:12

Sorry, have just realised first line of my last post sounded decidedly unsympathetic... not my intention at all! Sending well wishes to everyone and anti-worry wishes to 100years :)

MrsSatsuma · 13/01/2011 17:25

Bugs here, bangs on the head there... what an unhealthy lot we are at the moment! For my part I have a feeling like a stone in my stomach... had it same time laast month and assumed it was mittelschmerz but OV sticks suggest no ovulation yet so maybe not... Not sure if I'm not ovulating or if the sticks are pants. Hmm.

100 - any news yet? FX for you xx

Bebe - hope bruise has gone down!

AC - sorry to hear work is so busy - hoping it's in a good no-time-to-get-bored kind of way!

Got my formal lesson observation tomorrow... am a bit scared!

strawberrypie · 13/01/2011 16:56

Oooooooooooh Whywait! Maybe you ovulated early this month? I hope it's a good sign!

Sorry to hear you are feeling upset Bebe :(

How are you 100years? I hope everything has gone ok today x

Wrote a big long post & then our broadband went off! Hmm

100 - thinking of you & keeping everything crossed xx

Astro - Must be worrying but I don't think they can do anything, unless it's somehow in your contract Hmm Surely it would be discrimination?

Feeling more myself today, it would have bee very funny if it hadn't hurt so much. DH said he wondered what i was doing!! Knee is a fetching shade of purpley blue today!

Got to tidy/clean up house today. It's DHs birthday on Sat & we will have people over. Have made a cake so I can decorate that tomorrow. Making him a stargate cake as it's one of his favourite shows.

Told DH about my anxiety dreams & he knows that it is down to our 'chat'. Feel a bit upset that I am OV today (by my calculations) and yet again another little egg is going to waste :(

Good luck 100years, I hope everything is ok this afternoon, I will be sending positive thoughts xxx

Hope both JS and Bebe are feeling better. That did sound like a spectacular fall Bebe!

What good news from MrQuod!

Astro- do you think your employer might ask you to pay back all or some of the cost of your course? Is it in your contract? or would they be ok as long as you went back to work after your maternity do you think? I'm sure they would try to be flexible.

AmandaCooper · 13/01/2011 08:30

100years sorry I haven't replied till now. Work is unbearable since my colleague quit and I haven't had a minute. Hope it all goes well this afternoon, we'll all be thinking of you.

JustShaggingForNow · 13/01/2011 08:14

100 - good luck at the EPU today. FX for you xxx

JustShaggingForNow · 13/01/2011 08:04

morning all

Astro - don't worry about having to tell work. At the end of the day if they aren;t happy then that is their problem. You have to focus on yourself and be a bit selfish when it comes to such things!

I'm off work today. Feeling utterly rotten and so am guessing that the sickness and cramps are down to me having a bug rather then being upduffed! Damn my overactive imagination!!!

jbells · 12/01/2011 22:38

thanks squirral meal was nice just got back now and absolutly exhausted its past my bed time lol

i need anti D to the injection is massive :(

squirrel007 · 12/01/2011 19:31

xposted astrozola! Telling work is always a bit nervewracking, I think, as it's quite a big thing to have a year off. But they should be professional about it even if they're not happy. But, like you say, you can't put off your life for work :)

AstroZola · 12/01/2011 19:28

I forgot to mention:

Bebe: it is awkward and something to come to terms with when people change their minds...which is why i'm trying to give my DP as many months as possible to give me an answer! I NEVER wanted children all my life. Until October!!! So it's something for him to come to terms with...we're having short intermittent talks about it...so maybe short burst talks about how you're both feeling maybe more manageable for both of you...and also more repetitive so that you can both continue to think about things...just a thought/suggestion! x

squirrel007 · 12/01/2011 19:28

100years sorry to hear about the bleeding, but am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. I can't begin to imagine how anxious you are feeling, and I hope you get good news tomorrow.

nannyl I sympathise with the exhaustion! There have been many recent nights were 8pm has seemed like a good time to go to bed, even though I'm normally up till much later. But it is passing now - last night I even went to the cinema and didn't fall asleep :)

bebe sorry about the bump to your head, but hope you recover soon!

quod good news about your DH thinking things over, and hope you can make progress from here :)

js very exciting about the 2ww. If you haven't already told your DH about the timing mistake, and you don't think he'll react well, it sounds like it's best to leave it for now.

jbells enjoy your dinner out with friends! It's always nice to go out with a 50% off voucher Grin

I had my second mw appointment today, which was very boring - all my blood tests and stuff are normal so there was nothing much to do except that I had to arrange getting anti-D. Now I don't have another appointment till March.

I am off to do some exercise now... haven't done anything much (except cycle to work) since about week 8 and I really need to get back into it now the tiredness has eased. Fingers crossed it won't be too hard after a short break :)

AstroZola · 12/01/2011 19:24

Hello everyone,
This thread moves so blinking fast...i've just spent the last 90 mins trying to catch up.

Bebe - I'm so, so sorry for everything that is happening to you at the moment...i can't imagine how you must be feeling but i feel awful for you and really hope you sort it out for both of your sakes!

100 - i hope everything is ok tomorrow...let us know what happens!

Squirrel - i'm dreading the day i tell the bosses at work that i'm pregnant...if that day ever comes. I'm training to be a vet nurse and my training finishes this year. I should be qualified by October. But I'm hoping to start trying then! I'm supposed to work for a year at the practice after qualifying to compensate them for paying for my training...but when i tell them i'm pregnant that will be awkward for them and i'll end up on maternity leave after 8 months or so...which probably won't be so bad...but at the same time it's my life and i'll still be working whilst pregnant and i want to be a mum before i'm 30, especially if we have 2 children!!! So i'm dreading it but i will have to deal with it so i know how the fear feels! I'm happy all your work colleagues have been so supportive!!

DP is still contemplating the TTC thing. No definitive answer but at least i know he's thinking about it.

I've been having some, what feels like period pains, even though i still have the coil in...strange...but they hurt and i'm not used to it... Sad

nannyl · 12/01/2011 18:31

Hello: REPORTING TO THE LOUNGE CAR!!!!! [GRIN]
so sorry i wasnt here when you needed me... I was in bed having a nap! Have gone from very tired to completley exhausted!
Went up for my bath at 7.45 last night, and was in bed an hour later.... but then had to get up again for OCADO who came at 9.15 instead of 10pm - 11pm

Anyway
100y thinking of you and giving you a virtual hug. Will think of you even more tomorrow at 2pm

Whywait good luck with you 2WW.
I got a not really -VE (but no way +ve either) with an ebay pg test on 30dec, 6 days before period was due.
There was a different shade of white about 8mins after if you held the test at a certain angle under the light.

My 1st responce super early pg tests gave me 2 obviouse lines after 4 mins 5 days before period was due, (but it says read at 3min, dont read after 10min so was a bit confused)

2 obviouse lines were there immediatly 4 days before period due.

I suggest the 1st responce 6 days early that you can you 5 days before period is due and if you get 2 lines before 10 mins is up assume you are in the super early stages of pregnancy as celarly some pg hormone HAS been detected), and retest the next day
Good Luck and hope the result is what you want Smile

Quodlibet · 12/01/2011 17:51

100 sorry to hear you're so worried. Will be thinking about you tomorrow afternoon. I have also heard/read lots of things about early bleeding ending up fine, though I think I'd be in a worried knot if it was me, too, even if it's not logical.

bebe that sounds like a right whack. Got to say the mental image of you getting a foot caught in your cardigan did make me laugh though, sorry!

Well there are developments here Chez Quod as Mr Quod has come back from 6 days away, has been doing his thinking (no he wasn't sitting on a rock), and has said he has been seeing if he can possibly make it alright in his head to try for a LO this year (possibly in the next couple of months to get one in in 2011...) Not holding my breath, but this is a massive movement from where we were on holiday and at the very least I feel much more like we are making a decision together rather than his work dictating our lives.

Got to get off MN as I have my first session in a school tomorrow on a new project (Yr 4 and 5) and haven't done my planning yet!! I'm quite nervous because I usually work in secondary - having dinner with my mum and my sis tonight though who are both primary specialists so I'll pick their brains!
