Old thread here

Make yourselves at home everyone. Jake & George are just loading everyone's 'baggage'! Wink

WW - I didn't get sore/achey boobs with DD, so it isn't a sure sign! Still keeping things crossed for you!

Definitely need to chat to DH. Although what kind of job he thinks I can get round here 3 mornings a week I don't know! Hmm I think it was a joke (clutches at straws) DD getting a place is a real bonus to TTC 'plans'. Would really help if I was to be very sick again & is also good for when a LO arrives. Better than her being at school all the time, want to have some time with 'both' kids at home. If DH really sticks to his guns and say NO to TTC then I will tell him I'm going to do my teacher training which means I'll still not be working....that might spur him on! Wink

JBells - sorry you have still got a cold, they linger when your PG don't they :( (Or maybe you just think/feel they do coz you can't take anything?!)

Thank you! If I'd known this existed I would have been on here months ago :) have just realised I might need to shorten my nickname though - bit of a mouthful (or fingerful, to type)!

taylorsatsumer- welcome to the thread and wow u managed to read thru all that must hav bin like a book :)

TaylorSatsuma · 24/11/2010 20:12

Good grief, I've got to get faster, about 4 people have posted in the time it took me to write that!!!

Oh... hang on... I just hadn't gone right to the last page... Blush

TaylorSatsuma · 24/11/2010 20:10

Hey AstroZola, yes this is the TTC thread - this is my first post on it as i've just spent the last hour following it from the beginning which I think was 5 threads ago!! It makes for good reading :) and I really hope everyone on here gets everything sorted (I know that's very general but you all seem like lovely ladies and there's a lot of stuff on here!). I left a post under your original one if that helps! Basically... give him time. People take a while to digest things (if he's anything like my DH, who has always wanted children but I still only managed to have a serious conversation about the when with him last week).

nannyl · 24/11/2010 20:04

hello all

bebe grrr at your DH, and really hope your nephew gets better soon. How frigtening Sad

AC congrats on 2nd interview Smile

welcome to the thread astro (pleased you found us)

Exciting news here... Our condoms have now GONE Grin. We are no longer using any contraception at all, and in my next fertile time we will officially be trying for a baby Smile

Am not happy about the current weather forcast, Heavy snow is forecast for tonight, as well as the weekend, with temps not rising above freezing Sad
Living high up right on the edge of the peak district this is NOT good news, especially as the roads round here are so steep, with realy tight bends (often combined) which are not snow friendly. (how i miss being down south where we hardly had any hills (or any snow!!!)

Dont like the idea of being snowed in in NOVEMBER, + i need to get to the market on Saturday... its too far to walk but who knows if i'll (or even the stall holders) will be able to make it there, and now i have got used to my local meat and veg, i dont like to get it from the supermarket any more.

bebejones · 24/11/2010 19:53

Oh also meant to say DD has a place at pre-school (woohoo) she will probably start after Easter. DHs comment:
'That'll be good, you can get a job!'

HmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmm

Erm....I want to be 3 months gone by then thank you very much!! I give up!!

jbells · 24/11/2010 19:46

hello all. hope everybodys had a nice day
i took DD swimming again today was lovely just hard work getting ready b4 and afta, my head cold wont shift either then in afternoon went for lunch with my stepsister who is 38 wks pg, it made me really look forward to having a nice big round bump and being able to see and feel the baby wriggling around

oooh 100years that does sound promising, when i was pg with DD I cudnt even touch my boobs they were so sore and prob TMI but nipples went darker and boobs felt really hard. fingers crossed 4 u :)

AC- wow congrats on 2nd interview when is it?

squirral- it does seem like such a long wait fom when u find out till first scan but thewks up till xmas r going to fly past, my nnext scan is on the 6th of jan gettin nervous/excited to find out what im having

bebe- i understand how u feel, DP has been working late every nite the past couple of wks with his new job, i used to get really worked up about it but im trying to be more relaxed as i know theres nothing i can do about it, its so hard when all u want to do is have them spend more time with there family, but u also know that they r doing there job and trying the best they can its not like there down the pub drinking all nite and all wkend :( its just so much harder when theres a child who wud like to have there dad around more. i hope things settle down for u soon

welcome to the thread astro- this is a place where we all understand the waiting game and a lot of us have had reluctant DP's. i think tthat like 100years sed best thing to do is make time for a proper discussion let him know how much this means to u etc

waves to everyone

bebejones · 24/11/2010 19:43

Welcome Astro! I have no words of wisdom, but if you find an approach that works please let me know! Wink My DH is still resisting & we already have a DD! (I think it's because he knows/remembers what it was like in the early days whilst I am blissfully ignorant skimming over it & donning rose tinted specs!!)

Well, some good news, we have tenants for the flat. On a reduced rent as we need to fit a new kitchen! But still it's better than nothing & very welcome just before Xmas!

DHs baby nephew is very poorly & is being tested for meningitis (sp?) He is a poorly baby anyway with a heart problem, so it is really worrying & DH is very quiet & out of it this evening :( Really hoping that everything will be ok!

100 - It's funny how every little thing becomes a symptom isn't it? Little niggles that normally you wouldn't think twice about suddenly start alarm bells! Got everything crossed for you. Glad work has been better today! :)

100years · 24/11/2010 19:17

AC well done, good luck for it :)

bebe, sounds like you are going through a lot at the moment, I hope something right happens for you, wish I could give you some words of advice, but I don't know enough about your other stuff to comment on what you should do. Hang in there, and do talk about things when you can.

Thanks Squirrel. Yay for your scan coming soon(ish)

Whywait, how you doing?

WYorks, how is the snow doing for you?

Welcome to the thread Astro, we are the formerly waiting to TTC, we are now a bigger group as some of us are TTC, some are pg and some are still waiting, but we like each other and so won't leave here. Re words of advice, tell him you would like to talk about it again, discuss things properly when he feels he has had chance to think about it, but prepare him that you will want to chat soon to make sure you can sort things out in your head, healthwise, money worries yadda yadda yadda. But most of all good luck.

Right then ladies. Update on me.

The 2 ww goes as follows, nausea still on and off, off food a bit, tired - still, boobs super sore, now I'm gassy bloated and constipated, and can't work out if the niggles now are crampy pains or constipation cramps. Hoorah, just a few more symptoms to build me up, ready for AF disappointment LOL I so hope I don't get AF, but you know what it's like, all the symptoms probably just imagining it, except the sore boobs, which hurt when I move my arm, and feel like they are bruised.

Head space is a little better, today at work went well, and I've almost put the shitty shifts from last week out of my mind.

Hope you are all OK.

AstroZola · 24/11/2010 18:21

Hey all,
Is this the waiting to TTC thread?? I swas directed here because of my thread earlier:

'Since deciding i want to have a baby...i've obviously told my other half about it...however, even though i was more against the idea than him in the past, he needs time to think about it. Now, i can totally understand this...it must be a bit of a shock for him...however, i've said i ideally want to take the coil out next August and start trying then as i'm nearly 30...i think he thinks he can wait until then to give me an answer...however, i feel i need more time to prepare for it and to be honest i feel a little impatient...i know i can't rush him, after all it's a big decision and he's only known about this sudden development for a month...but how long should i expect to wait before i ask him for a firm answer?? and what if he says no?! thanks for any advice or words of wisdom...x'

bebejones · 24/11/2010 13:56

WYorks - Eeeek how exciting! Not long now, hoping the snow holds off for you! I doubt that we will see any significant snowfall here :( (I'm the only person I know who actually wants it to snow!)

WW - Don't know really how it afects plans to TTC, I'm planning, DH is still resisting! Plus seeing as we are hardly in the same room let alone same bed when we are awake SWI would be a bit off the menu at the moment!!

Squirrel - It'll be so lovely to get the scan before xmas, at least it'll be all 'official' why you aren't drinking!!

OP posts:
squirrel007 · 24/11/2010 13:44

whywait not too much in the way of symptoms, a little nausea but mostly I just feel a bit grotty, like I'm recovering from a cold.

bebe the torte sounds lovely :)

We told my immediate family already and will tell DH's next week when we see them. Far easier to do that than make excuses about not drinking because I'm feeling a bit ill. Everyone else will have to wait till after the scan.

Squirrel, that's exactly what i said to OH last night re: snow. He laughed at my "very specific requirements"!

Well done on the second interview AC, that's great news.

Bebe, i'll taste it for you if you like, just to make sure it's ok before you eat it Grin

bebejones · 24/11/2010 13:09

WW - I really wanted to wait to tell people after the first scan with DD, but I was so sick, most people knew before then! :(

Trouble with the DH situation is I know he feels the same and wants to be with us. Because he is self-employed it's really tricky, he will always have to bring work home with him! If he doesn't work, he doesn't get 'paid' and we just can't afford for him not to work the hours he does & put the extra time in at weekends/evenings. Just really hoping that it'll calm down (in a good way) after Xmas!

Making a chocolate & nut torte, hope it comes out ok! Confused

Hi all!

AC congrats on the second interview, hope it goes well!

100years sorry you're feeling down :( If I have any advice it's to get everything in your head out in the open before getting pg, as the hormones really do knock your emotions about a bit.

wyorkslass bet you're really excited now! Maybe the snow will start during your wedding, and everyone will come out of the ceremony to find it's turned white... very romantic!

nannyl don't worry too much about the 1lb - that's only a pint of water, or two cups of tea! My weight normally goes up and down by more than that on an almost daily basis.

bebe sounds like a great xmas present for your dd :) But a bad situation with your DH at the moment :( It is horrid when someone close to you is stressed out, but it's really not fair on you.

jbells glad the scan went well :)

What they don't tell you is that after the 2ww you then have the 12ww Confused I have a scan date for mid December now, but it seems like such a long wait and I just want to get there and have everything be okay!

bebejones · 23/11/2010 19:45

Ooooh AC! Well done!

WYorks - hope it doesn't snow too badly & spoil your day, although it would look lovely in photos! (We got married on 1st Dec, and it was sunny, was miffed we didn't get snow!)

WW - Hope the spotting comes to nothing, fingers crossed for you! It took one of my friends 6 months to conceive her 1st, she is super fit & healthy & active! It can happen, try not to worry!

100 - At least working will occupy you over the next few days! Try not to test too early!

Nannyl - crossing fingers for you on dates!

Right, will try & rememeber my long 'rant'!

I'm not sure counselling will work (or when we would have the time Hmm). DH is just sooooo busy with work that he spends most evenings & weekends on the computer. Of an evening he just sits with me doing emails & playing his game. I know it's tough for him right now, but being self-employed in his line of work is really difficult at the moment. I'm very surprised he hasn't completely lost it with his dad who seems to just pile all his crap onto DH, especially at weekends. He asks why he is pissy & DH just says he wants to spend time with me & DD but his dad doesn't really 'get it'! Hmm DD is missing time with her daddy, and when he does spend time with us/her he is so tired & stressed he is really snappy, especially with DD. Yesterday she was angelic all day, we had a lovely day together even though she was asking for daddy. When he came home he went straight upstairs to work & she started acting up. He got so grumpy & said how difficult she is. But really it was just typical toddlery 'any attention is better than none' behaviour! :( At any rate it isn't helping me convince DH that DC2 is a good idea when all he sees at the moment is DD being a handful! We really need some family time, and I just don't see it happening. DH rarely comes to bed before I'm asleep even at weekends, and in the week always gets up & leave for work before I'm awake. He's not even going to be able to come and visit my family before xmas! :( Things are really starting to pick up work wise, and it's positive stuff but just means he is even busier as they have less staff!

Sorry that is really long and ranty!! Blush
