Morning all! How is everyone today?

Nannyl - hope your cold isn't too bad? Amazing about Ocado! Have only ever heard positive things about them.

100 - How are you feeling today?

How are our pregnant ladies, Squirrel, JBells?

Feeling positive today, not sure why Xmas Confused Maybe it is because I am feeling festive! Finished all of my present shopping now. Have my wreath & mistletoe up & just threaded some popcorn with DD (who mostly ate popcorn rather than threading it!) Taking DD to see Father Christmas tomorrow morning, and to a children's pottery workshop to decorate an ornament. I am very excited! Xmas Grin Plus DH is coming with us, so will be really nice!

Still no snow here, absolutely bloody freezing though! Dreading next quarter's gas bill!

nannyl · 02/12/2010 14:56

Hello all

bebe, i love you Xmas name Smile

100 years so sorry you are still feeling soo poorly Sad. lets hope those AB's make you better soon

AC anynews on your job int? agree with others, 2 hours MUST be a good sign Smile

Am snowed in for a 3rd day in a row and really fed up with it now.. and no sign of a thaw yet Sad we must have at least 40cm now, and our cul-de-sac is ungritted / un ploughed and on a hill so no way can my car get back up Sad
Thankfully last night Ocado made it see here which was great. The poor guy had to walk up the road to our house but he made it. Have emailed them this morning to say thanks.

I think im also starting to get a cold. Feeling a bit rubbish and sorry for myself. Have not got dressed today (and dont intend to). Its not a bad cold but my eyes are streaming, i keep sneezing and im tired (so relieved to have a much needed day at home!)

Had planned to wrap all my presents and do ironing make mince pies plus do some cooking and sort my baking cupboard.
Actually i have made my braised cabbage to freeze for Xmas day, a lamb tagine for tonight, and now ive come back to bed, hoping to sleep myself better.
Ironing and present wrapping can wait.

Hope everyone else is ok in this snow and its not causing too many issues!

bebeinamanger · 02/12/2010 14:27

100 - fingers crossed that some rest and antibiotics help you get better soon x

Strawberry - I hate cleaning! You have my sympathies Xmas Wink

Feeling a bit sorry for myself, hip s so painful & I still have a week untl I see the doctor again :(

strawberrypie · 02/12/2010 10:47

Hope a few days off (and super-antibiotics!) helps you get better 100years!

strawberrypie · 02/12/2010 10:43

we have plenty of snow but the main roads are passable at the moment. It was snowing very lightly this morning but more forecast for during the day. Like where you are the temps here are going to go very low tonight so will poss have some black ice tomorrow Xmas Sad

the relatives are coming from Southport where the snow has not been as bad. The plan is to go to the xmas markets in Manchester on Saturday. I have a half day today so will just have to knuckle down to the cleaning and tidying!

100years · 02/12/2010 10:30

Hey,

Just very quickly posting before I go to sleep again, still feeling rotten, thought I would be feeling better today but spent the night with a fever and the chills so I went to the docs this morning, been prescribed heavy duty antibiotics for a throat infection and start of a chest infection, temp was 38 when I was at the docs given I have been living on paracetamol all week and had had some only an hour before I went.

Booked sick from work, going to take a few days off and hopefully be rid of this soon.

Hope everyone else is OK.

bebeinamanger · 02/12/2010 09:34

Strawberry - Bear appeared around the time of children in need, not sure if it is related though! Xmas Hmm

Do you have much snow? We had some the other day but it all disappeared by the end of the day & now we have none, and none forecast, but temperatures are predicted to get down to -10 here tonight! Xmas Shock

Hope everyone is ok, and not frozen! Brrrrrr Xmas Wink

strawberrypie · 02/12/2010 09:31

ps Bear where did this come from?

strawberrypie · 02/12/2010 09:30

Hello! Great name Bebe! :)

Hope 100years is feeling better.

Two hours sounds good to me AC- they wouldn't have bothered grilling you for so long if they didn't like you- best of luck, I hope you get it! xx

I am a bit fed up :( have been working long hours this week and with it taking so long to get to and from work have not had much spare time- I have also got OHs mum and auntie coming to stay this weekend and still need to clean the house and do the shopping! Maybe we will be snowed in and thay won't be able to get here?

bebeinamanger · 01/12/2010 21:12

I have a new festive name! Xmas Grin (Tis me bebe!! Xmas Wink)

AC - fingers crossed for you, sounds horrendous, but could well be a good sign!
Hope you had a lovely day with your friend. Xmas Smile

Sooooooooo cold here, and still no more snow! :(

Hope everyone is ok? x

AmandaCooper · 01/12/2010 08:37

Second interview was yesterday evening. Very gruelling and two hours long. DH thinks the length is a good sign as it was pretty late by the time we finished, but I don't know. I'll just have to cross everything I've got and wait.

Off to visit my friend and her little DD and bump this morning - can't wait!

bebejones · 01/12/2010 07:33

Asked again this morning!
'Will I have a baby next year?'
...'No doubt about it'!!!

It's official then! :o

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 30/11/2010 22:04

Bebe those magic eight balls are never wrong!

AmandaCooper · 30/11/2010 22:02

Don't know what happened to the rest of that message. WestYorks I hope your day was wonderful in every way.

bebejones · 30/11/2010 21:18

AC - hope everything is going ok, keep us posted on the job front!

100 - How you feeling? Sounds like a really nasty bug! I hate being ill & having AF at the same time, you just don't want to move or go anywhere at all :(

Quod - that is so nice about the Spanish! :)

JBells - not sure about the drug, there is another one which is about to apply for it's license, so fingers crossed!
Have you tried making Playdough for your DD? Used to (and still does) keep my DD occupied for ages!

Is our wedding anniversary 2moro. DH gave me my present tonight (just something silly) a magic 8 ball!!! :o I have asked it...
'Will I be TTC in the New Year?'
It said...'Yes'
'Will I have a baby this time next year?'
It said...'positively'
:o
Highly accurate & scientific & I am taking this as gospel! Wink

lucky train must be going through a tunnel. Sorry I haven't been around, I've been completely self absorbed for the past week focusing on this job interview and haven't been around.

jbells · 30/11/2010 16:43

hello all, well it is like an ice skating rink out there today very dangerous and DP has a meeting 4hours away tomoro so i am really worried i wish they wud canx it but doesnt look likely :( also hate trying to find things to keep DD amused in this weather she is at an inbetween age where she wants to be occupied but a lot of stuff is to grown up for her yet.

100years- r u feeling slightly less lurgified yet? hope u have better luck next month. i think the symton spotting is natural and near on impossible not to do

quod- my fingers r crossed for you. i am very hormonal week b4 period me and dp have lots of arguements around this time usually he at the grand age of 31 still doesnt seem to understand hormones and doesnt think they can be blamed lol

bebe- is there any hope that the drug mite be granted a license in the near future? hows the talks going with DH? did u enjoy the snow today, i hate it hehe

nannyl- wots DTD Blush

strawberry- you r very brave riding a bike to work cant believe your managing it in this weather

Whywait- i hope next month that u and everybody else trying gets lucky :)

astro- looks like good news on the baby talks front :)

oh has anyone been watching im a celeb i record it and then watch it in when i can as DP doesnt like stuff like that, oh my god i was crying laughing when they had them being spys and stacey was nodding and winking and then threw a stone or rock as dom thought in his eye, dp thought i was crazy i was laughing that hard

100years · 30/11/2010 15:57

Hey Quod, well I was feeling quite glum for a week or two this month, had a shit run of shifts which led to me being knackered, didn't sleep well which compounded the issue, nearly passed out at work, did a test which was BFN, spotted on friday which led to me crying, and woke with full blown lurgy on sunday, cried on the supervisor because I felt ill and then got AF this morning. So this month is quite an odd one, plus with it being the first proper month TTC I suppose I had a few hopes up for it working.

On other months I am sometimes hormonal, sometimes less so, I think there is always an element of it to me, have suffered with depression in the past and feel like sometimes it's just lurking waiting to get me, this is usually the week before my period. My OH is great though and looks after me and doesn't expect me to be any different if I am feeling hormonal, in fact I think he rationalises it too well at times.

I like the spanish version of wait and hope meaning the same thing, maybe we can be esperars next thread.

Will keep my fingers crossed you get your flight tomorrow.

I'm not sure I'm catching the September bus next month, we are still going to be trying, but I'm finding all the talking about EWCM, 2WW, symptom spotting, dates etc etc is driving me a bit mad and focussing my attention on one thing only, and I need to try and be as chilled as possible. I'm still going to post in here, as it's not the only topic of conversation in here IYKWIM.

Quodlibet · 30/11/2010 09:43

Morning all

Sorry you're still feeling ill 100. Do you get sad/hormonal before AF? I never thought I did but since coming off the pill evidence points to the contrary Blush, I was a beast to poor DP last week and then cheerful as anything as soon as AF showed up. I'm really not looking forward at all to the waiting part of TTC as waiting for anything that may/may not be happening makes me horrendously stressed and grumpy.

(On a philosophical point, in Spanish the verb for 'to wait' and 'to hope' is the same, 'esperar'. Which is kind of apt in the 2WW context, isn't it?)

On the subject of hope, please can everyone cross their fingers that Heathrow doesn't freeze this evening and ground planes? At least the tubes are back on. Thought I had everything sorted but sleeping bag has disappeared so I have to go out in the sleety blizzard which we currently have in London to buy another one. Grrr. Or Brrr.

100years · 30/11/2010 07:39

Morning all from my sick bed. Still rotten :( got AF too along with a sharp knife being stuck in my stomach. I'm overjoyed obviously. Staying either in bed or under blanket on settee today.

Hope ur all good.

bebejones · 30/11/2010 06:59

WW - So sorry :( Fingers crossed for next month

100 - sorry you are still feeling so rotten, hope it passes soon. There are some nasty bugs out there at this time of year! :(

I won't be boarding the Sept bus! :( AF got me this morning (sort of expected it) so that means it'll be too early for me this cycle. Can't TTC til Christmas eve & that'll be well past OV! Fingers crossed I'll be on the Oct bus (God (and DH) willing)

Had a hospital appt yesterday which was fine. Only slight downer was the news that a drug that we had been hopeful that I might get (after DC2) has not be granted an EU license (it has one in the US Envy). But that's not like it affects me that much yet anyway! Had to have more blood tests coz the last lot I had at the hospital showed a raised white cell count! Fingers crossed the next lot are normal & I'll get a clean bill of health for TTC! :)

Oh and exciting news....we have snow!!! (Not much, but I'm still as excited as a kid at Christmas!!)

whywait... sorry to hear that. Next month you will be about a week ahead of me.... hang on, which means you should be able to text Xmas time? wow what an xmas present that could be Smile

I'm Expecting AF Sun (or maybe Mon as Ov'd a day later than normal)... For once i cant wait, so that i can get on with DTD Blush

100years · 29/11/2010 19:07

WhyWait, sorry to hear that :( Hugs. Looks like there will be a few of us next month all trying together.

Got a roast cooking, I've feebly de-headed the sprouts and delegated some tasks to my OH. I feel shite and I do not want to do anything at all.

Nannyl, hope you get AF soon so you can start DTD :)
