Bebe that sounds promising that he wants to hang on to the cot!

bebejones · 01/01/2011 15:48

AC - Meant to say, still very excited for you...this is a huge step forward isn't it? You must be really excited! :)

100 - I think I can count on one hand the number of times DH were in any way intimate when I was PG. I was just too ill to start with & then by the time I was feeling 'better' I was getting a bit big to do anything comfortably! Blush I think the nerves are completely normal. I was also so petrified of doing it incase it hurt the little bean...and yes, I know that that is bonkers!

DH has just cleaned the washing machine filter! :) My moaning about it finally worked! (I couldn't do it coz I couldn't pull it out to turn it off at the wall!)

Have done some design work for DH this morning, not that I will ever get paid for it! Hmm We had a brief discussion about the cot which went something like this...

Me: So what are we going to do with this
then?
DH: Well I haven't found a home for it yet!
Me: So we are keeping it then?
DH: We would be mad not to, wouldn't we?
Me:
DH: Do you not think? I don't think we should throw it out! We'll sort it tomorrow.

And that was that! I am holding on to the chink of light from that conversation with every ounce of strength!!

Oh and possibly TMI here, but I have been too scared to have sex with OH since finding out, but we did this morning! It was lovely, but slightly scary. I take it nerves over sex is pretty normal.

100years · 01/01/2011 12:37

Well, happy new year everyone :) Hope you all had a good one, whatever you were doing. I was taking 999 calls from mostly shouty people last night, with the odd person who was normal, but it went quickly.

AC great news about your DH being 'properly' on board :) Yay.

squirrel thanks. I am feeling sick, had a few times of having to rush out from work to 'fake puke' ie retching, and am finding it hard to sleep more than a few hours because I keep waking and feeling sick! But it's all for a good reason. And glad you are starting to decorate :)

bebe fingers crossed specially for you.

nannyl YAY Congrats :) Woohoo :)

AmandaCooper · 01/01/2011 11:20

Yes it is the best thing ever to have him on board, instead of reluctantly going along with it. It's really, really lovely. He's still saying the same things this morning (phew!) and so far hasn't smoked.

I think a visit to my godson yesterday helped focus his mind, when he saw how bright and funny and charming his child could be. They sat playing together on the floor with Benji's Noah's Ark, and DH was chatting away to him very naturally. My friend and I hid in the kitchen giggling.

Bebe I am sorry to be full of good news when you are sad that you are packing away DD's baby things. Things can change and they will change and get better. This is an exciting new year for all of us.

It's difficult to watch everyone else on the thread start ttc and so many BFPs as well. I feel particularly bad for those who didn't get their BFP first time on a thread where amazingly so many have - and worry that it could take me a while too. But I heard that of the 30 or so people who were on the September bus there were only a couple of BFPs, so I keep reminding myself that trying for a few months would be perfectly normal.

nannyl · 01/01/2011 11:11

sorry to here you are still having a tough time bebe Sad

my EDD will be 13th September (my birthday) although as i ovulate of day 15, not 14, probably 14th September! Smile

bebejones · 01/01/2011 11:04

Nannyl - :o Congratulations! Lucky train strikes again! So what is your EDD?

AC - That is really good news! Fingers crossed for you for March then?! :)

Got to pack DDs cot away today, she was quite good, stayed in her bed all night but did take over an hour to settle. Hoping that the act of packing it up & where to put it will spark the conversation of TTC. Although because of DHs work crisis of the past few days, prospects in the bebe household are not good! :(

thanks so much

and congratulations to you too AC! Now that is progress Smile
when do you plan to start trying? March / April i guess?

AmandaCooper · 01/01/2011 10:52

Yaaaaaaay!!!! Yipeeeeeee!!! Wooooo hoooo! Congratulations Nannyl and happy new year everyone!!!!

Wonderful news here as well. DH and I had a proper conversation about ttc and DH was really sincere and enthusiastic about it and excited - but he wants to really get on board and do it properly and take the zinc tablets and stop smoking and cut down alcohol for three months beforehand. I am really pleased and if he's as good as his word, more than happy to wait that short amount of additional time.

jinglebellssantasmells · 01/01/2011 09:56

Hi all! Am just checking in before heading to a friend's to see in the new year (if i stay awake that long!).

Huge congratulations 100years Grin what fantastic news to find out at Christmas, hope you aren't feeling too sick or anything yet. And it sounds like congratulations for nannyl too. I got faint lines for a few days when I first tested... drove me mad waiting for a strong line but like someone said, it's still really early to be testing so give it a few more days and the result will be clearer.

The exciting news here is that we've started decorating one of our rooms to be a nursery :) DH is up there with the polyfiller making sure all the cracks are filled in, before we paint tomorrow. We've bought some paint samples (going for yellow walls) so will try them out tomorrow and decide on a colour. It'll still be a guest room until baby is about 6 months, but it'll be nice to have it decorated.

Hi to everyone else, hope you have a happy new year Grin

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 15:31

oh dear AC wot happened?

bebe- it does suck but i think its better for me as i wasnt suppose to be a family day and id know all wk that he was in work today, hes off sat, sun and mon tho, we have not argued at all since hes been off we are so much nicer and better together when he isnt working dont know y, work seems to cause problems for us

AmandaCooper · 31/12/2010 15:03

La dee da now it's not happening this month

100years · 31/12/2010 12:34

Bebe, nice news about the local womens centre :) DD is a big girl now, hope this leads to some conversation for you.

Nannyl, omgoodness, exciting and scary time over the next few days then for you, fingers crossed that it was there and becomes more Big and Fat positive.

AC get practicing now, I think this dot is the result of some SWI around CDs 11-13! And I'm normally longer than that, but had loads of EWCM that weekend so I reckon it's got to have been then. Only time will tell once I've got to 12 wks and had a scan.

jingle, yay for DH feeling the kicks :)

I'm working tonight, so this will be a very busy night for us. Shock Then it's a few days off, the tree will come down, the cards will come down and the next year all begins.

bebeinamanger · 31/12/2010 12:31

DH was supposed to be at home, not due back to the office til next Tuesday. But because of yesterday's 'crisis' he has had to go off with his dad. He shouldn't be away overnight, but will be gone all day. We were going to do DDs bed & have a family day. Just feel like his work always comes first. Makes me :(

But...I have taken DDs cot down, by myself! And I have put her new bed up, by myself. I know I will probably get into trouble, because I shouldn't be doing it alone, or because I left DD (happily playing with playdough), or because he wanted to see her see it for the first time, or one of a hundred other reasons. He will of course fail to see that I saved us from the usual argument because he hates flatpack & gets in a right strop about it, and also because if I waited for him it'd never get done. This afternoon I will be cleaning out the washing machine pump filter because I have been asking him to do it for a week & I can't really use the machine again til it's done! Hmm

Enough ranting & moaning from me.

AC - v exciting that your DH is still on board! :)

JBells - sorry your DH has gone too, sucks doesn't it?!

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 10:50

oooh AC thats good news, not long to go then its like the final countdown :) mite aswell get lotsa practice in for the nxt ten days :)

AmandaCooper · 31/12/2010 10:43

Bebe xposted with you. Sorry to hear that DH has had to go. Why are you miserable? Has he gone for a long time? Are you ok? x

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 10:00

ahh sorry your upset bebe- my DP went bk to work today too :( hopefully your DH will be back soon

AmandaCooper · 31/12/2010 10:00

JBells today is CD7 and I usually OV at about CD17 to CD20, so some way to go yet. DH is still on board... for now!

bebeinamanger · 31/12/2010 09:56

DH has been called away to work. Just left! Feel so miserable, just want to curl up in bed & cry. DD keeps saying, 'Mummy be happy!' :(

Nannyl - sounds promising! Keep testing! Sounds like the lucky train has struck again!

jinglebellssantasmells · 31/12/2010 09:40

nannyl- i am going t go out on a limb here and say congratulations by the sounds of it you hav been struck by the lucky train and u are pg :) if youor anythin like i was u will end up testing agen today lol also think getting your OH to pee of a test is a great idea hehe

AC- i think NYE is a catch 22 if u r stuck in u feel like your missing out and shud be out, and if your out it is always a let down and u wud prefer to be at home in bed, when r u starting TTC (its so excititng we will have a train full soon)

bebe- tell your DH the lucky train is telling u to TTC lol i really hope he comes round to the idea soon for u
