AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 19:42

Oh Bebe I'm so frustrated to be about to OV and not SWI. Our waiting session has been mega. Can't believe we're still here!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 19:32

Yes, the Gruffalo would probably eat him on toast!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 19:31

I think if we got a Humf our Gruffalo might eat him!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 19:21

It was originally a book & the BBC did an animation for Christmas 2009. DD loves it! There is a sequel to the book called 'The Gruffalo's child' which is also really cute! Loving the idea of a pet Gruffalo! :o

The other little monster we like in this house is Humf. Very cute (he's the purple one)

Oh the delights of kids tv!! :o

The Gruffalo website doesn't open on my phone. Is it a flash site or something? Have googled though and was most charmed by the pictures!

Quodlibet · 07/01/2011 18:52

PS I'm with you on the passing of the law; mine is currently using 'I need some time to think it all over on my own' as the get-out line from conversations about TTC that HE has started ConfusedAngry

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 18:21

And another thing, if that's Jake, who is George??

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 18:16

What is the Gruffalo? It sounds interesting. Perhaps we could get a pet one for the train?

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 18:15

What's all this Jake business? I always thought George and Jake were imaginary blokes more eunuch than Chippendale! I am so naive!

I am starting to think it should be against the law not to discuss ttc with your DW! What are these bloody men playing at being all passive aggressive all the time and then saying "ooh don't throw away the cot!" Bebe I think we should all come to your house with pitchforks and demand answers have a talk with him!

MrsSatsuma · 07/01/2011 16:57

Ooh I missed George and Jake the first time... does while away the hours until ovulation!! (Oh dear, how desperate does that make me sound?!)

Glad you got some sleep 100 - and nannyl, I'd just do what your body tells you. Having said that, when/if I ever get pg lord knows how I'll cope with 400 sulky teenagers a week!

Work situation getting complicated - yet another has announced she's pg! :) but also Envy So that makes 3 on maternity leave at the moment, 1 going next week, and 2 going in summer. If I do get pg it'll be old news, and possibly irritate a few people... not that that will stop me because it's my life ;)

Quod - good idea for bebe! If he's not feeling great perhaps there's more chance he won't be thinking about work, and you might get him to focus on it more. Good luck bebe!

nannyl · 07/01/2011 16:09

100 sorry to you are feeling so tired

i am dreading that bit.... am only 4&1/2 weeks at the moment but have a feeling in the nexy week / 10 days exhastion and sickness could really kick in.

have just had a good hours nap, but wondering how im going to cope with 19 little 3 / 4 year olds for most of the day for the next 6 weeks, AND all their observations and paper work etc...

bebe lol at your posts!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 16:03

Can you tell I'm a bit bored today?! :o

DD has decided she doesn't want to wear clothes today, which would be fine if a.She was potty trained & b.it wasn't January & freezing! Hmm Managed to persaude her to keep her trousers on, but that is it!! And that was only thanks to bribery & watching the Gruffalo 4 times...in a row!

Sorry 100 - was distracted by Bebe's link!!
Hope that you feel a bit better soon and that you get chance to rest up over the weekend. Well done for being positive and focussing on the reasons you feel crap and not just the utterly rubbish feeling!

JustShaggingForNow · 07/01/2011 15:47

yet more topless Jake Yum!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 15:27

x posted 100 - sorry you feel so sick. The 'hormones working well, all a good sign' were words I heard all too many times when PG. Hold onto that for now, fingers crossed you feel better soon x

bebejones · 07/01/2011 15:23

A little something for the weekend Wink

Nannyl - that sounds terrifying! Glad you are home safe, and that you aren't feeling so sick! :)

I shall come and prop up the bar to help ensure Jake & George keep their jobs! Fancy a cosmopolitan! :o

Hi Ladies, poo pants cam home from work early, sick and dizzy, did the same yesterday and spent nearly 12 hours in bed, I am SO tired! On the settee doing very little at the moment and just thought I would pop in and moan at you. It's OK to feel like this though, means hormones are working hard in me, that has to be good.

nannyl · 07/01/2011 14:50

hello all

bebe sorry DH is poorly. Hope you have a nice chinese and chat tonight Smile Good luck

No news here except we have LOADS more snow and the decision was made that children could go home at 1pm...
at 1.30 us members of staff who had furtherst to go (and in my class thats me) were allowed to go to.

NONE of the roads have been gritten and I can honestly say i had the scariest journey of my life.... I stuck to a main bis route, bt that was not enough... i was slipping and sliding everywhere... only just made it up a hill slight slope, and every thime i wanted to stop (or just slow slightly) my ABS kicked in.

Then there was the scarey hill down (all the way) with main road at the end. I didnt ever go faster than 16mph, and tried to slow down the WHOLE way down the hill.... at the point where id normally apply my breaks (travelling at normal speed) i was only travelling at 7mph but still only JUST stopped in time Shock

am pleased to be home.

Not been feeling that sick the last couple of days, but definitely feeling much tired-er so going to take this opeprtunity to have na afternoon nap Smile

JustShaggingForNow · 07/01/2011 14:37

God forbid - although if pushed to make a cut I am afraid it would have to be George. Have you seen Jake naked in "Love and Other Drugs"?!?!? Yummy!

Pleased you'll still be here to keep Astro and I company in the bar. Speaking of which... it's Friday afternoon

"Jake - 3 Mojitos please!" Wink

Quodlibet · 07/01/2011 14:12

Bebe at least whilst he's got flu he's immobilised and can't escape from The Big Talk!

JS I'll definitely be hanging around waiting with you and Astro for a fair while yet; someone's got to keep the drinks carriage in business otherwise in these straightened times we'd be looking at having to make the choice of making either George or Jake redundant and that wouldn't do at all would it?

bebejones · 07/01/2011 12:44

JS - yay so excited you booked to go see it! It was fantastic! Hope you enjoy it as much as me & my mum did!

We are sorting out booking to go see Wizard of Oz later in the year, very excited about that!
