I would be very very happy and excited if an accident has happened (Think DH would be very cross to start with because of the timings and also because he would probably think I'd gone against him and planned it but utlimately supportive) but it would mean a few amendments would have to be made to our holiday plans for the year which would be a real pain.

At the moment I am running the Bath Half on 3rd March (which I am guessing might be harder if I have a bump!) and then we are going snowboarding for a week with a group of friends and my DSis in mid March (probably not adviseable with a bump but my DSis knows nobody other than DH and I and so it would be pretty crap for her if I couldn't go) We've also booked our flights to India for April/May and are in the process of finalising the itinerary adn will have to pay a 20% deposit when we book (likely to be this week)

Not sure if I should speak to DH about waiting to make the hotel reservations for India until I have had AF. I don;t want to risk wasting a large amount of money but I also don't want to panic him unnecessarily or cause an argument. Especially as we hardly see eachother at the moment!!!! Advice please ladies!

100years · 12/01/2011 12:34

Thanks you two. :) Trying to sort out money things while I'm waiting to ring the docs to try and take my mind off it.

Yesterday I had a bit of a change of mind and stopped myself from worrying about things, then we had sex and I had some bleeding, I didn't cry then, I just lay there tried to not think about it and ended up going to sleep, waking at half 2 to do some more fake puking. Then slept in this morning, but now I'm back to pre yesterday worry and not enjoying today really. I just don't feel cut out for dealing with all the worry about it all. :(

Try not to panic 100. I am sure that it will all be fine. I don't really know much about these things but it's good that you are going to go to the Drs and that if they think you need it will send you to the EPU.

Try to stay as calm as possible (easy for me to say I know) and I am sure that the Dr/EPU will out your mind at rest.

100years · 12/01/2011 12:18

I had some more bleeding last night, after sex. I know this is quite common, but I'm scared shitless that I'm not in that 'quite common' bracket. Waiting to get emerg appointment at docs, can't ring them till 1pm. Spoke to EPAU who said they would scan if the doc thinks it's necessary as I am now over 6 weeks so to see the docs and go from there. Gah. This worry is not helping me.

And I'm sorry I've not read back in here. Hope you are all OK.

JustShaggingForNow · 12/01/2011 11:01

Hi WW

I can totally understand that you are feeling really crappy about your friend. I totally understand and it is always going to be tough to hear that someone you know well only has to look at a c*ck and get pregnant when it is taking you longer than you had hoped.

FX (but not legs!!)for you this month :)

I'm on CD 21 and ovulated on CD14. We did have UPS on CD10 so I suppose that it is possible if DH has super sperm..........

My cycles vary from 27 days to 35 days though so goodness only knows! I guess if AF hasn't appeared by next weekend then I will test. DH is on a boys ski trip then so at least I have time to get my head around any unplanned news before he gets home!!!

Oh dear - sounds like it was a bit of a clumsy night on the thread last night!!!

I had an odd one. Went to bed at 9:30ish as I was utterly shattered. Woke up at about 1:30 as I was sure I had heard someone knocking on the front door. Was then worried and it took ages to get back to sleep as I am home alone. It then happened asgain at about 3am. Was supposed to go for a run this morning but as I woke up feeling exhausted and like I was about to throw up I thought I'd pass!! Hoping I;ve not got whatever DH has had (he has been throwing up and feeling really rough - thank God he's in London as he is crap when he is ill!!!)

Other than the injuries, how is everybody feeling this morning?

bebejones · 12/01/2011 07:31

A positive story for those who are scared/concerned about labour. A friend of mine from school recently (end of last year) had her first baby. At 6.30pm she was still replying on fb & had no contractions/signs of labour at all. Her baby was born completely normally in hospital at 11.30pm! So it might not be long & protracted & complicated. Don't read the scary birth stories (like mine Blush) they will only make you worry! :)

AC - muct have been the day for self inflicted injuries! I got up from the armchair in our living room last night (in front of DH, DD & BIL Blush), I had my foot caught in my cardigan & fell straight forward and landed with my full weight on my knee & headbutted the floor! :( Knee is purple & still a bit swollen this morning!
Hope your leg is ok today, hurts more when you aren't expecting it!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 11/01/2011 23:41

Ouch this evening I banged my leg on the corner of the table and skinned my shin. Not sure I'm too keen on the idea of hours and hours of excruciating pain!

AmandaCooper · 11/01/2011 21:35

Watch it online on 4OD.

MrsSatsuma · 11/01/2011 21:26

I always miss OBEM because DH refuses point blank to watch it (can't really blame him... I make him turn off match of the day...). Does anyone know if it's repeated (aside from on C4+1)?

Glad you're not feeling sick any more nannyl, although the tiredness must be a pain. At least you're halfway through the 1st trimester and apparently it gets better after that (the pg ladies at work are certainly full of beans again and at the glowing stage).

bebe dreams are probably due to stress (although you prob know that!). I get them when I get stressed which is a pain as then I end up stressed and tired!! Try lavender on your pillow, might help. Hope you're feeling a bit better today?

Am just about to go to bed... finished work - or rather, I've done all I can, and I'm not going to work another hour or two on top of what I've done this evening and the 10 hours I spent at school today, to make my lessons all singing all dancing as I'll be too tired to teach them! Plus I'm fed up of trying to work out when I'm ovulating... (see my thread on conception board...) Night everyone!

bebejones · 11/01/2011 21:17

Well obviously she gets her baby...but you know what I mean!! Blush

OP posts:
bebejones · 11/01/2011 21:17

I started watching OBEM, while DD was in the other room. Naturally she wandered in just as the woman started screaming 'fuck fuck fuck'!!! Hmm I know everyone deals with pain differently but Jeeeeeeeeees she didn't half scream, even with the epidural in, even though she said she couldn't feel anything!! Hmm

Hoping the 18yr old gets her baby in the end, would have scared me half to death if I'd heard that other woman too!

nannyl · 11/01/2011 20:49

hello all
bebe sorry to hear about your wierd dreams
jbells sorry to hear you are having DH issues too

squirrel pleased that you have told all the importnat people

I am SOOOO tired now... i had my bath at 7.45 and am now in bed.
Have Ocado booked for 10 - 11pm (seemed like a good idea 2 weeks ago, i like that slot as its free!) and OH is out at a meeting, so i really hope for the 1st time EVER Ocado are not early, cause then OH can deal with it.

The probably will call at 9.30 / 9.45 'just around the corner though' so then ill have to get up and let them in. Sad (ok i could say wait until 10pm but then they might drive off to the next house)

Enjoyed OBEM. One of my friends gave birth their while they were filming and they asked to film her etc... she declined the oppertunity to be on national TV giving birth Wink

makes me as determined as ever not to have a baby in a hospital

No other news here... havent really felt sick since friday, just so so tired. Am 5 weeks pg today

jbells · 11/01/2011 19:36

squirral- i know he seems to think my money grows on trees, i am going to cut her nursery hours down by half tomoro when i take her she does 10-4 weds and thurs at mo but im paying for full days which is 8-5.30pm
i think bcos i had a claim thru for the fck up thats the hosp did when i was having DD he thinks is lasting forever and it will soon go the amount im spending

bebe- shes just turned 21 months so wont be entitled to any free nusery for prob a year and a half, im sure your DD will love nursery when she goes as she seems like a very lively outgoing character

squirral- have a lovely nite at nandos, im going to gusto tomoro with my best friends (got a (50% off voucher) so taking advantage cant wait

well just got back from yoga now cooking dinner then time to chill on the sofa b4 bed

squirrel007 · 11/01/2011 18:45

jbells sorry you're feeling down :( About the holiday, I can also see both sides. I completely understand that you'd want to see your family, especially as your dad can't travel here, but I can also see that he might want to go somewhere different. Is there any way you could do a short trip there by yourself, and have a family holiday closer to home? As for the money, I am shocked that you are paying nursery fees and bills when you're only working 10h a week Shock Your DP should definitely be chipping in or you should rethink your finances together - spending £500 a month more than you earn can't be good for your sanity.

bebe didn't your DH cancel your holiday last year? Or am I misremembering? It sounds like he (and you) really need a break.

js I watched that QI episode last night - was wondering if I can stop labour pains just by being relaxed? Probably not!!

Told the admin people at work today and gave them a letter with official notice... they were very excited for me :) So that's all the important work people told, and it's nice to have it all official! Am off out to Nandos with DH tonight too - hungry already but he's not home yet. Have a good evening everyone!

bebejones · 11/01/2011 16:58

JBells - remind me how old your DD is again? Could you maybe cut her hours at nursery? DD starts preschool in May (really anxious already about that) only 1 afternoon a week then in Sept (when she is 3) it'll be free! (Well 15 hours is free!)

OP posts:
jbells · 11/01/2011 16:45

on a plus side got pg yoga tonite so hopefully that will make me feel serene and calm hehe

jbells · 11/01/2011 16:44

lol bebe i cud have written your post, i have often asked DP if he thinks the fairies do all the washing and cleaning

JS- i really did want to go somewhere new wud love to see mexico or somewhere but i am so broke at the moment DD's nursery fees r 320 pound a month alone without all the otha household bills and car etc im spending atleast 500 pund more a month than im getting at the mo

DP seems oblivious to the fact that my money is not the same as when i was working for the last company i was with i am only doin about 10 hours a week now :( i know this sounds awful but i will be better off when im on SMP and can take DD out of nursery, just feel guilty because she really enjoys the couple of aftanoons she spends there

they say money doesnt bring happiness but it definately helps :)

bebejones · 11/01/2011 16:35

JBells - My DH is only thinking of going to Cornwall, but he always says he is going to take time off/have a holiday & it never happens. He never thinks of my feelings on things either, or at least that's how it feels. I'm sure he thinks I sit on my arse all day twiddling my thumbs & that DD looks after herself, the house cleans itself, the fairies take care of the washing & dinner magically appears on the table! Hmm That makes it sound like I'm so hard done by...I'm not, just don't always feel appreciated!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 11/01/2011 15:56

Sorry I didn;t comment earlier jbells. I somehow managed to skip your post completely!!

It's really tough for you that your DP doesn't want to do the same holiday as you. I can see it from both points of view.

You want to see your family and take advantage of the low cost options available to you in Malta.

He may well want to use his annual leave to explore somewhere new and so is suggesting you go to Malta alone.

Is there a way that you could take your DD to Malta to see your family and then go to Mexico or Egypt with your DP? That way you both get to do what you want.

jbells · 11/01/2011 14:37

bebe- he doesnt seem to take my feeling into consideration either that or have any understanding of how im feeling, where is your DP thinking of going?

strawberry- the first time and 2nd time we went we stayed with my nan, but apart from the days we visited my dad in prison we were out all day with DD and then had a built in babysitter at nite while we went out to eat on our own, the last time we stayed in a flat on our own with DD and hardly saw my family except for my dad at prison DP came twice with me and i went once on my own as i know its not idea having to go to a prison to c your gf's dad but unfortunatly i have no choice :( i suggested making it more of a hol this time and staying in a part of malta we hadnt seen in a 5 star hotel and sed we wud only c my dad twice but he sed he doesnt want to go to malta agen and that it doesnt even feel like a hol when we go there now, and that he cant really take the time of work anyway that he was happy to take it off if we were going to go to egypt or mexico tho Hmm

think ill just leave the subject and bring it up agen in a few weeks

JustShaggingForNow · 11/01/2011 14:28

I remember hearing on QI at the weekend that pain is mainly caused by the fear of our idea of pain. So if we don;t fear it then we don;t feel it....... Hence they used to give people who were allergic to anaesthetic Vallium for operations. Not sure I'd want to try that though!

strawberrypie · 11/01/2011 14:16

Ps AC- that leaf story makes a good point about hypno-birthing etc- I think fear and your own imagination can really cause perceived pain levels to be higher than they would otherwise be :)
