Voila! New thread here!

Credit to 100years for the title.

AmandaCooper · 25/01/2011 14:59

I hope it will be an all inclusive thread - because I certainly have no plans to leave, even if I am still waiting. We had some brilliant suggestions for thread titles.

nannyl · 25/01/2011 14:53

Hello strawberry
sorry to see another BFN although still early days so dont give up hope.

ofcourse you can be on whatever thread it happens to be called.... maybe the 'no longer waiting to ttc' thread?

cant have you being homeless, but who knows, you just might have a BFP then and be pg anyway! fingers crossed

strawberrypie · 25/01/2011 14:47

Also Nannyl will it be a TTC and PG ladies thread as the other one is a waiting to TTC one isn't it? I might end up homeless otherwise! Eeeep!

strawberrypie · 25/01/2011 14:44

Hello mrswantstobeamum! Lovely to hear that you are ok and your pregnancy is healthy! Wow 20 weeks already, it really doesn't seem that long ago that you were here :)

Sorry to hear you are so poorly Nannyl- like your OH said it's best to rest up at the moment until you start to feel better (hugs)

I can totally relate to your feelings about TTC mrssatsuma- 90% is a definate improvement! It's hard not to get obsessed with it all.

I am so jealous AC! I have never had a kitten! The two cats that I have had have both been adults who were strays. I bet you have your hands full! Can we have a few more details eg name, colour, likes, dislikes etc! :)

Thanks Bebe for your comment- it was a BFN this morning so I think I will wait until Friday (cd26) before I try again (obv assuming no AF by then). Each day seems to be passing soooooo slowely! I just want to fast forward the week! :)

nannyl · 25/01/2011 14:44

waves to mrs!

welcome back! things have definitely progressed since the summer.

Im now 7 weeks and cant wait for my second trimester when fingers crossed ill start to feel human again!

would be great for you to rejoin us when we think of a name for the 'we waited long enough and are now actually pg thread!'

mrswantstobeamum · 25/01/2011 14:01

Hi all, you may remember me from this thread last summer. I was just popping in to see how you were all doing, and it looks like about half of you are now pregnant or actively TTC. How exciting! Congratulations to those who are pregnant and good luck to those TTC!

We were very lucky in getting pregnant the first cycle of TTC. I'm now at 19+4, with an EDD of 17 June. I've had a pretty easy pregnancy so far, so really can't complain. I'm enjoying the second trimester, as I've got much more energy than during the first and have mostly stopped feeling nauseous (hang in there nannyl, it will pass). We've got our next scan on 3 February and are really looking forward to finding out the gender!

I'm mostly hanging around the June antenatal club thread now (with jbells), but if you do decide to split into two threads I would love to come back to chat with you all (but can understand how it might not help for those still waiting to TTC to be surrounded by pregnant ladies).

In any case, I hope everyone is well!

nannyl · 25/01/2011 11:22

Good morning all.

Well have now been signed off for a week with morning sickness Sad Only have 4 weeks left so a bit sad, (and doctor wanted to sign me off for 2 weeks) but as OH said whats important is looking after me and our baby.
Have been feeling SOO exhausted and poorly that im relieved to have a restful week ahead.
hoping the lots of rest and small amounts of food when i feel like will help.

WW good luck with your interview.
Bebe good luck with your cakes. My grandmother makes cakes proffesionaly and they are fab! wish i had that talent

AC how exciting to have a kitten. how cute

waves to anyone else ive missed.

AmandaCooper · 25/01/2011 00:06

Hi everyone!

News here: we've got a kitten. He's completely smothered and spoiled. DH is looking after him most, cleaning out his litter and grooming him. I missed him today at work! Something little to love while we wait!

Whywait a five hour interview sounds mental! Fingers crossed and double crossed for you.

Bebe great news about the business plan, it sounds like a brilliant idea. Good on you for giving it a try!

Quodlibet · 24/01/2011 23:53

MrsS I hope your CBT goes well. My mum had really really positive results from that. I've got a close friend who has panic attacks so I'd be interested to hear if you feel it's a helpful route. (I work in schools occasionally and I know the feeling of it being difficult to know when to stop planning and when to trust that you can deliver what you want to deliver!)

WhyWait hoping your interview yields results!

MrsSatsuma · 24/01/2011 21:34

Haha one pina colada with strong stuff coming up!!

Apart from irritability (which, to be honest, is also a symptom of the anxiety) I haven't really had any symptoms... However it's only the second cycle post-pill so not really sure what's normal yet!!

bebejones · 24/01/2011 20:49

Quod - well done on getting the application in, fingers crossed for March!

WW - Really hoping that you get a place! Will they write or call? Very exciting! If you don't get a place there are you/have you applied to other places?
Getting DH to help me setting things up as a business. Just keeping it low key/hobby based until I am more confindant/experienced/busy. Have probably got the wedding cake 'gig', very excited. The bride is a school friend of my DH & I'm sort of doing it as a favour, won't make much money (if anything) out of it but will gain experience & that is invaluable!

Strawberry - FX for you but don't be too disappointed if it is -ve 2moro. It's quite early.

Squirrel - I remember having that meeting with my manager before I left work. Working out when I could leave was brilliant (I hated my job) felt like a weight had been lifted & suddenly I could deal with all the day to day work crap knowing that I was out of there in X many days! How are you feeling now? Has the sickness gone now? I don't think I felt properly PG until I was well past 20 weeks. Bump (& subsequently DD) was small!

Mrs - I agree that CD26 might be too early for you if you OVd CD19. Think HPT work on a 10dpo basis. Fingers crossed for you too.
Hope your CBT session goes well too & that they give you some help & coping strategies.

I shall join you in the bar car for a Pina Colada, but can I have some of the strong stuff in mine please? :o Wink

mrssatsuma the physical symptoms don't seem to make it feel real for me! For the first trimester I just felt a bit ill, and now the symptoms have eased off and I just feel a bit fat :) I think it'll get more real once I get bigger.

If you ov'd on cd19, then I think it might still be early for you to be testing? Do you have PMT symptoms? The lack of them was my first sign.

MrsSatsuma · 24/01/2011 20:03

Wow WhyWait, that's a long interview! Fingers crossed for you - I'm sure it went fine. I generally know if I've made a hash of a lesson so as you thought it went okay it probably did!

Squirrel how exciting! Is it making it seem more real? Or is that a stupid question as the physical symptoms probably make it seem real anyway... (spot the one who has never been pg..!!Blush)

bebe I agree with the others - cakes look amazing! You could have a stack of those for a wedding cake.

nannyl I must try Nigella's brownies... I was always a fan of Delia's but I've not tried a Nigella recipe that hasn't been scrummy and Delia's didn't work last time!

sorry I've not been around much - very tired this week and couldn't face much time on computer! Have gone from being obsessed with TTC and thinking about it 95% of the time to about 90% of the time, which is an improvement... Think I ovulated around CD19 and am now on CD27 - tested yesterday but no lucky day 26 for me :( No symptoms either. Am sure we timed it right according to chart, so am a bit miffed. Have warned DH I may be grumpy and upset on Thursday!!

Anyway, onwards... I'm in a seemingly never-ending cycle of trying to relax while still making sure my lessons are planned, and constantly playing catch-up with them because I never feel I've done enough. It was much easier in my old job when I knew I had to concentrate between 9 and 5 and that was it - nobody tells you how much time you should be spending working when you're a teacher!

On the plus side, I have my first CBT session tomorrow for my panic attacks. Hoping very much it helps!! Haven't had one for a while but they can come and go very randomly. Fingers crossed...

Have a nice evening everyone! I'll be in the train's cocktail car later if anyone wants a (non-alcoholic) Pina Colada...

squirrel007 · 24/01/2011 19:05

bebe i love the cupcakes, very professional looking! I'd definitely pay for them :)

jbells sounds like a bargain for the pushchair :)

nannyl I also love nigella's chocolate brownies... haven't made them for a while though so maybe I should do some baking!

strawberrypie I think the symptom spotting is part of ttc, it's hard not to. Am going to keep my fingers crossed for you this week.

quod yay for the application, and the homemade pizza sounds yummy!

whywait it's so hard to tell how interviews went, and 5 hours is very long. I'd be flagging at the end of that. Will keep my fingers crossed for you too.

I have had a busy weekend here, we have finally finished decorating the spare room/nursery! We finished it off late last night, and I think it looks great Grin although it's not really a nursery yet and won't be for about a year. The main thing left to do is find some curtains - the cream ones we have don't really go with the yellow walls.

Also had a meeting with my boss today about my work for the next few months, makes it all seem more real now that I'll be off! What with holidays and other stuff, there's only about 4 months of actual work time left, scary!

strawberrypie · 24/01/2011 16:10

sorry that was all me me me Blush

strawberrypie · 24/01/2011 16:09

Hi WW! well done for getting through 5 hours of interview! I hope you get accepted, did you speak to any of the other candidates? How did they feel that it went?

I seemed to have plenty of symptoms- cramps, bloating, sore nips (Blushsorry for TMI!) etc for the week after ovulation but they have tailed off a bit now.

I think I will test tomorrow morning (only CD23 but poss 10DPO if I OVed when I thought I did) Although if I do have a 28 day cycle it will be 7 days before AF due which is too early but I don't really know what my UCDL is! Aaarggh!

I might wait until lucky CD26 on Friday Confused assuming AF has not appeared.

I have a stack of cheap HPTs from Amazon so don't feel toooo bad about using them.

I am nervous and know I will be dissapointed if I get a negative although I have no right to expect it to happen so soon! Am trying not to get my hopes up :)

Well done for getting your application in Quod!

Where is everyone today? :)

Quodlibet · 23/01/2011 17:31

Bebe those cupcakes are beautiful. You've got such a flair for it. A friend of mine has started a cake business on the side this year, she had her kitchen inspected by the council but I don't think it was that much faff. She's really enjoying doing it.

After a 7-day straight stint I have now finished all my work, hurrah! Application is in, rehearsal is done and I am sitting on the sofa with v large glass of white wine whilst DP makes me home-made pizza. Joyous.

strawberrypie · 23/01/2011 13:39

One of DPs friends was on Pointless and was absolutely rubbish! It is so strange seeing someone you know on TV- like the barrier between RL and TV has been moved IYKWIM?

DP's sister just does the cake decorating for fun Bebe, she's just starting out really but loves it. She made a cake for my birthday which was lovely.

I have been working this weekend which is pants and it's not even keeping my mind off the 2WW.

How I scoffed at the symptom spotters and now I am one of them! Slight cramps, bloating etc are making me think something is going on but prob just PMS! I will test on Tuesday which will be approx 10DPO.

nannyl · 22/01/2011 22:32

how cool bebe

one of my sister best friends went on that a few years ago and won!

bebejones · 22/01/2011 21:35

My Uncle is going to be on Weakest Link, it's all very exciting! Wish I was lucky enough to win a big amount of cash! Ought to start playing the lottery more often! :o

thats exactly wot i did with DD's pram just picked one i liked Hmm

my best friend has just been on channel one and she won ten grand was ages ago that it actually happened tho, jammy thing guessed all the questions lol

bebejones · 22/01/2011 20:19

JBells - I take DD to a music class which is about 45mins of singing, dancing/actions & instuments. She really loves it so that's why I have kept that one up, we have been going since she was about 9 or 10 months old! Also take her to the toddler group session at the playgroup she will be going to. I wanted to get her used to the enviroment & people before I left her there on her own! (PFB and all that!! Wink) We used to go to another toddler group but I found it too clicky & it wasn't as well organised. That leaves Mon Thurs & Fri completely free for any spur of the moment activities, sometimes I take her to the mums & babes swim session on a Friday, but my swim suit is too big for me now so haven't been in a while!

I wish I had researched prams etc more when pg with DD. Just sort of picked one I liked the look of (and the price of) and it was far too cumbersome. I know what I'd like next time but don't know if I'd get it...if I ever get PG it'll be the least of my worries! At least I have one that will do & I'll just get a buggy board for DD! She's 3 in August so doesn't do alot of pushchairing these days :(

Strawberry - Does your DPs sister do it 'professionally'? Equipment does mount up in price! Trying to look for things in the sales & buying bits as and when I need them! I'd love to do a course but can't find a good one locally!
