I apologise because I know this has been asked before but I just couldn't find any relevant threads.

Yesterday I did an Asda hpt and I got a very very faint positive but it was after the 3 minute time rule and somewhere within 20 mins. Today I did a test first thing and got a line within 6 mins. The line is still faint but much stronger than yesterday

I'm really confused and don't know what to think because it tells you to read you rseult at 3 mins and don't read after 15 minutes. So what is this no man's land in between 3-15 minutes? Does a line count as positive if shown in that time. This is driving me crazy!!!

Thanks nurse47. I don't want to waste their time incase I'm not pg though. I'll do another test tomorrow and if that shows positive within 3 minutes then I'll give the EPU a call

right, call cons now. (wonders if her cons might consider HCG) which clinic are you with?

nurse47 · 17/11/2010 11:13

Id call him now and get them started, would they not do a blood test for you then you would be sure? I did a couple of test that showed up +ve after the time frame and iv always gone on to be pg so congrats!

I've had 3 miscarriages lissie. Consultant seems to be going through a process of elimination to find out what's wrong. He said next time I got pg I was to get HCG injections every week till 12 weeks

call your cons now then you are pg. why do you need HCG injection? that could explain why line is quite faint.

Alibobster · 17/11/2010 10:24

Lissie I/m on cd 31 of average 26/27 cycle. I'm really keen to find out because as soon as I'm pregnant I need to start gettoing HCG injection.

when is/was your period due? tests arent as accurate as you would think before 14dpo

Sops · 17/11/2010 10:14

This means that you probably are pregnant but the hormones (that the preg test measures) are still getting going and not quite strong enough to show up.
To get a more concentrated sample don't have too much to drink and save a wee up for as long as poss- that way it'll have more hormones in it and you'll most likely get a proper positive.

OracleInaCoracle · 17/11/2010 10:10

it trakes up to 3 mins or the result to show, and you should disregard after the 20/15 mins. so that was a bfp. congrats.
