Hi ive been posting on the miscarrage forum but now feel ready to start all over again!
My story, Had my first MMC in nov 2007, followed by an erpc (worst moment of my life) this was my first pregnancy and i felt robbed. Waited for two periods and got pg with my little DD in feb 2008, i had a great pg and birth but was on constant knicker alert. We decided when she was two we would like another baby to add to the familiy, we decided to try in sept this year and got pg first time! (very shocked) I was so hoping this would be my time to have a stress free pg and actually enjoy the experience! How wrong i was, i started to spot at six weeks had a scan which showed a sac but no baby, i then enjoured the worst two week of my life by having scan and blood tests. I was told on the 8th on nov the pregnany was not going to continue and i had a blighted ovum, and on the 9th i had a erpc. I have recovered well and stopped bleeding the day after the procedure. I went to see my doc last week who told me i could start ttc asap as long as i feel up to it?? anyone else ttc straight away, last time i was told to wait and i did but this time i have read that there is no lit to say wait apart from to date the pg?? Im hoping there are some people who can share there experiences and someone who wants to join me!

Hi yellowtomato, welcome even though I am the only one you missed out Sad Can I still play? I'm sorry things haven't worked out for you so far, a year is such a long time to then undergo such heartache, and twice! Third time lucky, eh? Your erpc was so recently, I hope you're ok. Like brought said I kept having "this time last week/a fortnight ago....." moments, but my maths is a bit shite so I've had to stop that now. However, I did manage to work out this morning that I was on the Due in April thread, now I'd make it onto the October one at a push - that's half a year! Fingers crossed for everyone that this time next year we are all in a happier place (no, not Disney!)

Hello ladies

Nice to see you broughthimround wonnay nurse and star good to see you are all progressing. I am going to monitor this cycle and then start again after.

Hello to pink and rach

To recap for those who don't know me I'm 37 ttc my first. Started 2 years ago, have been pg twice (took a year each time) and had 2 mmc. Last one ended in ERPC last Friday.

I am v keen to get on with it again but don't think that starting this month or next will make much difference given my history, looks like I'll be in for a bit of a wait. Mind you a number of you seem to achieve it a much quicker so maybe some of that will wash off onto me? [clutching at straws emotion]

wrt to opk's etc I have tried them but not found them particularly reliable. My cycle is pretty consistent and I usually get egg white CM 2 days before ovulating so that's all i need to know really!

Am having acupuncture to try to improve things, we'll see how it goes. And also going to have some blood tests to try to find any causes for the mmcs.

right, I also promise to be less boring, long and rambling in the future!

Hi pink and all,

wonnaywombat · 18/11/2010 07:23

Hi everyone on here already and thanks nurse for starting this up.

I'm not quite sure I'm ready to launch in fully to this thread so will lurk for a while, if you don't mind, and join in with gusto when I'm feeling more back to normal (ERPC was 4 days ago - no DC yet, that was 2nd mc after natural mc back in June).

Good luck to you all and look forward to hearing lots of positive stories!

Star82 · 17/11/2010 23:03

:o!!!!!!!

rachk32 · 17/11/2010 22:39

oooohhh i took us to page two... Love it!!

rachk32 · 17/11/2010 22:38

well if thats the case i think i have ov,d already, i find with me im kinda off sex for a week during my cycle and thats the week i generally ov in, my hubby said that why i got preggers so quickly the last time... Nothing to do with him wanting sex everyday!!! Men ay??
My body feels messed up since my mc, and nothing feels normal, so im taking this month, my second cycle as my test cycle b4 we go ahead and ttc.
Starting my temps last nyt, though id give it ago to see whats normal???
Im 33 next month and i know that relatively young i have the 35 question mark looming in the back of my head!!! Stupid i know....
Welcome pink and brought xx

Star82 · 17/11/2010 22:31

Hi Pink!! Have you had any periods since June? Just wondered as you mentioned erratic cycles.

Haha, Nurse, it all sounds so romantic. With the 2 kids i already have, i didn't even try to do the deed when i ovulated (i wouldn't have known when that was anyway), we just didn't use contraception and luckily caught within 2 months of coming off the pill. I'm a bit worried about things returning to normal following the ERPC which is why i feel like i want to keep note a bit and also would be nice to conceive at the first possible opportunity. Obviously, this would mean keeping check on ovulation before i get my first period. We'll see.....

nurse47 · 17/11/2010 21:46

Sorry crossed post, welcome pink, anyone is welcome to join us. Have you being trying since your mc? did you have a natural or surgical mc?

Star try them, they are only cheap ebay is the best place. Like I said though they didn't seem to work for me, but I've seen on ff that they do for others.
I would agree with sparkly that around the time I ov I feel more up for it, and my cm is like egg whites. You can try alsorts of other things like fEeling your cervix but to be honest I'm a nurse and I don't know what I'd be feeling for so I never bothered!! Lol you can also buy a saliva microscope but again I don't know if they work! I know I ov cos my boobs hurt for a day or two after so I normally just try and tune in with my body. I also think doing the tests puts a lot of pressure on you both, so that's why I wouldn't use them again, its all personal preference.

I've had to take some painkillers tonight as I took my Dd and nephew to one of the soft adventure places and my god they run me ragged and I'm meant to be off on the sick!! Hope my boss didn't see me! It was the best fun I've had in weeks I felt about five!!! I've booked to have my hair done tomorrow as a treat and I'm going to go shopping on a new coat for sat, retail therapy is the best.

Hello nice ladies, is it ok if I lurk here? I'm trying for my first, I'm 28, and had a MC at 8 and a half weeks in June. I post on the other superfast thread but thought it would be nice to hang around here too if you don't mind? Last month I started temperature charting and using a clearblue fertility monitor to try and figure out what's going on with my increasingly long and erratic cycles - if you're thinking about charting your temperatures I'd really recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility - it's about £10 on Amazon and I feel much more empowered now as it explains about how your cycle works and I'm embarrassed to say, I had no clue about any of that stuff before - I got very lucky last time I was pregnant....

I feel ok Rach. I'd say i'm pretty good considering but have little moments when i have a minor wobble (that no-one ever sees) when i think that even though it wasn't a baby, it was our DNA that was developing and could have been something.

Sparkly you do make me laugh and i've only seen a few of your posts. :o x

DH turned 30 this summer Brought and surprise surprise, we were in Disney again!!! Went to a lovely restaurant called Seasons 52 with all organically, locally produced food and nothing on the menu was over 400 calories.....great!! I panicked a little when we all rolled up to find out it had valet parking though (i felt like i was on the hills!!) and saw it was a, not snobby, but you know, pretty nice verging on posh restaurant and we had a just 7yr old and 2 yr old with us. I did fear the worst but they were pretty good really. We've been the last 3 years on the trot and love it. Did you get chance to look at the Disney planning website/forum i mentioned? Where are you staying?

Nurse would you stick with branded then if possible? As i said, when it comes round to it i'll maybe pass on ovulation testing but you never know....

broughthimroundtotheidea · 17/11/2010 19:34

Hi Girls,
I'm not joining you yet as we have now booked a holiday to disney in february, hopefully you ladies who are trying will be successful by then and on the anti-natal threads. My miscarriage was "natural" at 8 weeks, but is it ok if I stick with you guys who I already know from Jue in June and keep up with your progress? Feel like a kid saying "can I be in your gang"!!

Star i got some ov test of the internet when i got pg with my dd and they were rubbish i only know cos i used the same urine sample and did an internet cheapy and a clearblue ov test, the internet cheapy showed a line but not very dark and and clearblue showed a smiley face so we DTD and i was pg 14 days later! i think they work for some people and not for others! its just the clearblue are expensive! I know what you mean about the holiday, i was 30 this summer and we were going on a big family holiday and i wanted to drink and enjoy all the rides so we didnt try untill after the holiday. Rach and sparkly you both got pg quickly so thats a good sign!!! fingers crossed for you both i dont think you will be waiting long x

sorry for your recent loss star, how are you bearing up?
Meant to say, i got 10 pg test, 10 ov test and the thermometer for £6 off amazon inc p&p.

rachk32 · 17/11/2010 16:34

Hi all, I managed to get the thermometer and ov sticks from amazon, £6.00 for the lot!! bargain..
So going to give it a shot next month...
never had to do it before as got pregnant on our 2nd cycle after our wedding in may.
i find it all very daughting to be honest.
Been lurking around on MN for about 8 weeks now as i felt it was my only means of support, friends and family seem to want to ignore my mc ever happened... it doesnt help my SIL is pg, only 3 weeks in front of i would of been...
im now on day 21 of my cycle, not sure if ive ov'd this month to be honest, its all new to me.
So any support would be great. x

I took my niece to see Peppa Pig live and the auditorium smelt of poo. I'm not squeamish, don't mind changing the cat litter or nappies, but was taken aback slightly. The childless are usually spared such things, no-one warns you! Nurse, I don't even know about cycles really! I had an implant for 6 years, and when it came out I had a period almost straight away and then got pregnant. Who knows when I ovulate? Need a stick covered in wee to tell me, clearly Smile I planned to guess it was around about when I felt like having sex, nature being the cunning fox that it is! At the moment, this is rare (the hot water bottle in bed, reaking of rubber, is a real turn off Grin) Star, I'm 36 so haven't the luxury of waiting if I'm honest, my fertility is meant to have fallen off a cliff, so once this period is out of the way I shall be on ov alert!

Star82 · 17/11/2010 13:21

Sparkly. I have just bought in a couple of bottles of vino this morning actually and lots of ingredients to make yummy home baking for DS's school for Children in Need on friday :) This may, or may not, come off successfully. I'm a bit hit and miss with my cooking :o. I was just thinking of getting a couple of cheap tests to use after i've stopped bleeding, before we have sex again to make sure i've got rid of all hcg. I want to make sure that has all gone before we try again.
Does anyone know of any good places on the net that do decent tests (pregnancy and ovulation)? I've never bothered with ovulation tests before but i'd like to try them this time perhaps so i have some indication my body is still working instead of having to wait to get my period. I'll probably be far to lazy to do it in reality but i like the idea. x

Star82 · 17/11/2010 13:14

I'm swinging from trying again straight away to leaving it til next year.
Due to DH's work, we can only holiday June time and possibly at the end of May. If i were to get pregnant now i'd be 20 odd weeks along come that time and although i'd be able to travel, not sure if i'd fancy a bit flight (We're looking at Disney and Australia). I could still go but i'd be so gutted at not being able to do all the rides etc because i'd be pregnant. The other option is postponing trying until we go away next year. The downside to that would be that we'd be looking at a spring 2012 baby and that just feels so far away and out of reach at the moment. Decisions decisions.....

nurse47 · 17/11/2010 11:32

Morning ladies, welcome sparkly, rach and hi star so glad youve joined us!

Star i have done a pg test 1 week after erpc and it was a faint +ve so im going to do another one after 2 weeks hoping that will be -ve by then. As for me im not trying but not preventing, im also not doing any ov or pg tests till im at least two weeks late this time (this is what im telling myself, who am i kidding!)
Ive been suffering really bad head aches think is due to hormones though.
Rach and sparkly i know how you feel as this was your first pg, but as i said i got pg on my 2nd post mc cycle with my dd and had a perfect pg and birth. Where are you both up to in your cycle? Star are you going to try straight away or wait? My doc told me i didnt have to so we are just going to see what happens, im a believer that your body will only get pg if its up to it!
Im looking forward to my first night out since the whole nightmare my DH is taking me to the xmas markets and i can have a few muled wines cant wait feel i need to let my hair down.
My post wont't always be as log as well as my dd keeps closing the laptop demanding i watch peppa pig so ill catch up later whens she gone to bed.

Sparklywine · 17/11/2010 09:01

Welcome rach32, I've seen your posts on other threads, sorry you're going through such a hard time. It will get better, and MN is such a great support, although I perhaps have information overload through too much lurking, so with comfort brings the worry of knowledge! A girl at work announced her pregnancy practically before sperm had met egg, and I really envied her utter oblivious faith that all would be well. So I know what you mean Star (hi!), I'm going to be full of fear the entire way through the next (soon please!) pregnancy, and the thought of going to the 12 week scan and seeing a blank screen again fills me with horror.

Star, sorry to hear about your MMC, Sunday is so recent but you seem to be coping. Just have some wine chocolate on hand for shaky moments. I got some cheap pregnancy tests, ostensibly to check the hcg was out of my system but if I'm honest it was because immediately afterwards I wanted to be one of those cases I've read about on here, who get pregnant again straight away. How I'd have been able to tell it was a pregnancy and not leftover hcg I have no idea, I was fooling myself really. My first test, 2 weeks later, showed a really really faint positive (though that may have been a mirage Grin) and the following Friday it was properly negative. I suspect, so soon after your erpc, that you'd still have hcg in your system and it would test positive, which might be hard to take and give you false hope in a way. That's my take on it, only you can decide what's best for you. Wombat, good luck with your bean, fingers crossed and keep us posted. You can wave the flag for us newbies. Rach, I think I'm a way off a thermometer yet but where did you get the ov sticks? it can be my new Friday treat! Grin Thanks for starting up the thread Nurse, it feels nice here.
