Hi ive been posting on the miscarrage forum but now feel ready to start all over again!
My story, Had my first MMC in nov 2007, followed by an erpc (worst moment of my life) this was my first pregnancy and i felt robbed. Waited for two periods and got pg with my little DD in feb 2008, i had a great pg and birth but was on constant knicker alert. We decided when she was two we would like another baby to add to the familiy, we decided to try in sept this year and got pg first time! (very shocked) I was so hoping this would be my time to have a stress free pg and actually enjoy the experience! How wrong i was, i started to spot at six weeks had a scan which showed a sac but no baby, i then enjoured the worst two week of my life by having scan and blood tests. I was told on the 8th on nov the pregnany was not going to continue and i had a blighted ovum, and on the 9th i had a erpc. I have recovered well and stopped bleeding the day after the procedure. I went to see my doc last week who told me i could start ttc asap as long as i feel up to it?? anyone else ttc straight away, last time i was told to wait and i did but this time i have read that there is no lit to say wait apart from to date the pg?? Im hoping there are some people who can share there experiences and someone who wants to join me!

Ha wombat I was just about to type about mine been a slow starter too, when I saw your next post. Welcome to the AF club! and step away from the google!

Welcome strawberries I am here even though I was a natural but have found these ladies all lovely and supportive, christmas will help the time fly until your appointment.

I have everything crossed for you mrsb33 hopefully we will have our first BFP. Xmas Smile
kitkey If you think 3 is tear enducing try having one aged 11 and wanting to go off to the school bus all on her own!!

Right the laptop is dying and I have to go to work now :( 3 more days then 17 off :) !!
Laters ladies xxxxxxx

winterwombatland · 15/12/2010 04:02

I'm sure that an update on my AF is just what you want as you log onto this today(!), but panic stations over I think because as soon as I logged off here and went to the loo, AF seems to have returned and a bit more normal too.... please return to whatever you were doing before! Blush

winterwombatland · 15/12/2010 03:46

Hi strawberries and while I'm sorry you've had to find yourself on this thread, you're very welcome. As the others have said, it's a terrific place for support and reassurance that you're not turning into an OMW (obsessive mad woman) Blush! It must be incredibly frustrating re: the retained products but good to hear that you have an early Jan appointment. Time is a bugger - where is that fast forward button when you want it?! FWIW, after my first MC in June (natural at approx 7 weeks), we didn't tell anyone other than my parents. After the 2nd (ERPC mid Nov), we did decide to tell a few close friends and while it wasn't easy, we're definitely glad that we did - the support has been lovely.

Now ladies, here's a question for you. On this website www.pregnancyloss.info/first_period.htm they say that you should have no bleeding for a minimum of 20 days post the bleeding after ERPC for it to count as a proper period. What I thought was AF yesterday I don't think could be as it was less than 24 hours and very light.... nothing close to a normal period for me. Does anyone have any light to shed on this topic? read / heard anything about the first period / intermittent spotting? While that website does seem to contain lots of useful info, I don't know if the author is a health care professional (but don't want to discredit her as she's clearly very knowledgeable!)

Hope everyone else having a good Wednesday so far Xmas Smile

MrsB33 · 14/12/2010 23:27

hi and welcome strawberries and cream, your in a safe place on this thread and support and advice is exactly what you will get, i found mn a great form of support when i suffered my 1st mmc back in sept 21st, i was also 8 weeks, discovered at 13 weeks, and i naturally miscarried as the process had started already. I got my first af 5 weeks later and am just starting to ttc now. Give yourself time to recover after the mmc, it took my body 8/9 weeks just to get back to some kind of normality with my first af being fairly normal to only start bleeding again 5 days later???

Thanks for the advice of the fortune teller ladies, i think she was just saying it for effect too, i just really hard NOT to get obsessed with the details at the moment... Anyway!! Back to positive mrsb now.

Af due 22nd fingers crossed its late for at least 9 months!!! X

StrawberryCreamTea · 14/12/2010 18:39

Hello, would love to join you ladies if that's okay? The lovely kool and yellow found me on my own a bit confused and lost on another thread and kindly invited me over...

DH and I are ttc#1, but a few weeks after getting the BFP suddenly all my symptoms seemed to vanish. After a week of worry I managed to get a kind GP at our surgery to take me seriously and refer me for a scan - despite no pain or bleeding - and we found it was indeed a mmc. I was at 8 weeks. I had an erpc two weeks later (26th Nov), and am now suffering from retained products, just wishing it was all over because I'm desperate to start ttc again and hate seeing the days and weeks slip away. I'm next due a scan at the start of January and have been told to hope that my body will sort itself out with next AF (which I was concerned would never arrive until kool shared her story and made me feel much more optimistic). Its lovely to be able to chat about what's going on to someone other than DH, as heroic and wonderful as he's been I'm starting to feel that giving him regular bleeding/clots updates can't be pleasant for the poor bloke and maybe I need to take that sort of talk elsewhere...! Its just so hard and feels so all-consuming at the moment, and we haven't told anyone other than our parents in RL so I'm desperate for a bit of female support.

Its lovely to see so many of you on here getting AF after your erpcs - and in sync too! I'll have to hope to join in next month fingers crossed.

Looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully getting lots of BPFs together Xmas Smile

kitkey · 14/12/2010 16:37

Thanks for the reassurance ladies - you know how it is when you get an idea in your head - it breeds. Just been lurking on another thread and 1 lady took 11 weeks to get AF - yikes - hope not me too thank you. MrsB33 definitely take what the fortune teller said with a pinch of salt - I was told by one that I would only have 1 child that would take a long time to conceive - think she sensed my desperation. I have 2 now! Am chickening out of my blood test tomorrow - want to know where I am but scared of finding out I am nowhere in my cycle. My DS1 is 3 tomorrow - boy how the years have flown - feel like shedding a little tear at the loss of his babyhood - 3 is definitely little boy territory - no more a baby like they be still at 2!

koolforcats · 14/12/2010 15:19

winter the cyst is just over 5cm. It might not be a big deal and I guess might have been there for ages but now I know it's there I'd like it not to be! I just want to be ship shape ready to try again Smile. How funny you got your AF too - we're like nuns on here (erm, ttc nuns?!) Xmas Grin

kitkey please please don't worry that some of us have our AFs, yours will come. My mc was natural/semi medically managed and I guess that might mean things could get back to normal a little quicker. And your AF isn't quite due yet, please try not to worry too much.

mrsb glad you had fun, sounds fab! I completely agree with yellow, people probably only ask that when they're trying so it's her way of trying to be clever. I know it's easy to say, but please try to take it with a pinch of salt. She did say yes though, and the little bit of help could be all of us on here, we're all helping each other Xmas Grin

yellow I hope you get a better night's sleep tonght and enjoy the gym tomorrow Xmas Wink.

I met a lovely lady on another thread and invited her to join us, she's at the same stage as all of us - let's see if we can sync another one Xmas Grin

yellowtomato · 14/12/2010 14:03

Afternoon all
I wish I could find enthusiasm to go to the gym......every day I say I'll go tomorrow. But maybe tomorrow I really will!
broughthim I don't really know what the tests mean either, was going to google them but haven't got round to it. I think they are something to do with clotting and genetic mutations and one def tells you how many eggs you've got left which is a scary one! I guess I'll see whether it was money well spent or not when I get the results but it'll be at least a month anyway.
kitkey I haven't got my AF yet either and am suffering from AF envy! It'll be 5 weeks on Friday since my ERPC so I think I'm next! Well I hope so anyway....
MrsB33 i know it can be hard when you have something in your head to worry about (with me it is early menopause) but i guess she maybe just added that bit because if it had been easy for you you may not have asked the question iyswim?
I'm feeling v tired today, some idiot phoned us at 2am and it took me ages to get to sleep again. We didn't answer, I think it was a wrong number grrrr....
Right going to get a diet coke to try to wake up a bit...

MrsB33 · 14/12/2010 13:17

HI Ladies, hope your all wll on this frosty tuesday afternnon.
Ball was Amazing, even had some champaigne brought me from an officer as i mentioned it was my bday weekend... it was very swish!!
they had a fortune teller there, so i decided to ask her if id ever be a mom... stupid i know, but i was a little drunk and emotional.
her repley was yes, with a little help, now im major stressed!!!
my af is due next week and i can already feel my pmt symptoms rising, headache, mood swings... i feel my pg obsession rising daily!!
wish id never asked the stupid question, now all i can think is theres something wrong with me!!!!

kitkey · 14/12/2010 13:13

Congrats everybody that has got AF - I am feeling left out and very jealous as I had my ERPC around about the same time as you all on 17th November - 4 weeks tomorrow so it is about time for mine to arrive. I think I ovulated last Wednesday so it would be next week for AF to arrive if so but yesterday and earlier this am I had the smallest tiny bit of spotting on wiping (i still check, habit I think) with mild cramping so thought AF was coming - but I am not so sure now - in a way I want it as would be proof that I hadn't been damaged by the ERPC but I don't want it yet as if I did ovulate last Wed it would mean only a 6 day luteal phase. Oh I hate all this. I hope it wasn't an exceptionally exceptionally very light AF - a sure sign of damage caused by ERPC (asherman's syndrome). Only time will tell I suppose. Going to do a progesterone level tomorrow to see if it is high enough to confirm ovulation - was feeling positive but this spotting has thrown me into a stress again

winterwombatland · 14/12/2010 10:43

It was a struggle to get off the couch last night and couldn't look at it this morning on the way out to work or I may never have got here!

koolforcats - is it a big cyst then? I didn't think they affected people that much - hope you can get up and about properly soon.... Good that you're down to 39 but agree re: Confused....

You'll laugh at this ladies - my AF arrived last night! Who else wants to get in sync?! Xmas Grin

koolforcats · 14/12/2010 08:03

How funny that we're starting to sync Xmas Smile

Had my bloods this morning and already got results! It's down to 39 now which is good. I know that's really low but I'm still a bit surprised my period started as I thought it'd have to be down to 0.

brought I'm glad you're feeling more human. My period is heavy too - I'm exhausted. Not painful though which is good.

yellow thanks for the test info. I'm kind of wishing we'd had the testing too but we chose not to at the time, too late now though. Hope your check up appointment comes through soon.

Jealous of all the running going on. I'm stil meant to be taking it easy because of my ovarian cyst but am usually really active so it's a bit frustrating. I'll hopefully be getting that sorted out in the new year though so I might put off ttc until feb (ish) too, just to take the pressure off.

Hope everyone else is having a good week Xmas Smile winter I'm glad your couch was all you dreamed of....are you still on it?!

broughthimroundtotheidea · 13/12/2010 20:27

Hi Girls
I am less rage filled now............a mars bar just helped with that !
wombat yes thankfully thawed out just about, I managed 5k on sunday morning and it felt great!
Maybe we are all getting in sync ! I am not usually such a PMT monster and always had easy and light periods.... this one is more heavy so maybe there are more hormones kicking around?? makes me wish we were trying this month, but Florida awaits in feb! and is paid for now.....
yellow so what does all that mean?? I am new to all that is it good news?
xxxx

winterwombatland · 13/12/2010 16:47

I like your idea koolforcats - I wouldn't need much encouragement....Xmas Grin Currently sitting on it now and I feel as if I might have to call DH on his mobile to talk to him - he's only on the other end of the sofa but it's so ridiculously long! I'm sure we'll get used to it in time and it is beauuuutifully comfy.

Seems like a few are starting to get their AFs - maybe we are getting in sync Xmas Grin. I'm hoping mine will be with me in about a week although I was starting to feel the rage today after the sofa delivery was over 3 hours late and then two of my colleagues told me I was getting fat!

yellow - I see where you got your leiderhosen test from now! Gene mutation sounds a little scary.... Confused

MrsB - how was the ball?

brought - is it thawed out enough there yet for a run? I really should have gone today but testing the couch was far more exciting a prospect!

yellowtomato · 13/12/2010 12:18

hello ladies

koolforcats I'm jealous you got your period, I'm still waiting but I think I'm slightly behind you, I'm expecting it by the end of this week. I think....I just want to get it over with....and I don't want it to mess with Xmas if it is going to be extra heavy and painful. I have still got a bit of 'the rage' when i get unreasonably angry about things....can't be PMT though as it's been a good 3 weeks! Blush And at least you're getting a check up.....I was told i'd be contacted for an appointment in 6 weeks but it'll be that on Friday and still nothing....

brought i do think that the rage may not just be PMT, might just be some kind of rage at the injustice etc that is coming out in different ways?

winter a new couch sounds very exciting indeed, ours was second hand and we've had it for 8 years.......it has to be tied together with string and propped up with books to stop it falling apart! And a 2 day hangover, that is impressive.

I found that my EWCM was more reliable that OPK's but I guess everyone is different.

I got a letter from the consultant with the exact names of the tests so far..:
Gene mutation, factor 2 g20210A gene and factor 5 (leiden) assay and Anti-Mullerian hormone. There are 2 more, lupus and something else but I have to go elsewhere for them and am still waiting for the letter about that.
Brrr it's a bit colder again today...how is everyone else?

koolforcats · 13/12/2010 08:56

brought it's good to know that you're a pmt monster too! Every time it happens to me I try to tell myself to calm down as it's not really me, it's 'just' my hormones, but who are we kidding, hormones have a bloomin lot to answer to, eh?! I wonder if it was worse this time as it had been so long since the last one (my last was 26th August!)? I guess we'll be thinking about dtd around the same time too then (around Christmas day if I'm on track!)!

TMI alert - mine is pretty heavy - can't tell if that's because I'm using pads whereas usually I wouldn't get to see it as much? (hate them but wondered if I should as I know I still had some remaining tissue so I'm keen for it to come out rather than to plug it in, iykwim!!).

I'm being a MN slut today, I ought to do something productive....like finish the chocolate I started.

Hang in there brought you'll be super calm again before long, I'm sure Smile

broughthimroundtotheidea · 13/12/2010 07:42

Morning girls
My AF has rocked up today also, and I have had PMT worse than I ever normally get, in fact I am still in a foul mood. Also my AF was always regular as clockwork on a 28 day cycle, which meant it always came very convieniently on a saturday morning. I do not like it being here on a monday Angry . I really do have a rage in my belly and someone is going to get it today!!!
Don't worry about the bloods, it can't do any harm......

koolforcats · 13/12/2010 06:47

Hee hee, I think you should work from home tomorrow too winter and have a couch day - just to make doubly sure it's comfy Xmas Grin

I was meant to be having bloods tomorrow to check my hcg but called them to say I'd got my period but they STILL want me to have my bloods 'to check my hormones'Xmas Hmm I don't get it! Surely they must be back to normal otherwise my period wouldn't have started?

I'm having a day of tea drinking and chocolate munching and enjoying blaming it on hormones. Xmas Wink

winterwombatland · 13/12/2010 05:48

A ha! There you go "koolforcats" - good news that things seem to be settling back down and the PMT monster has subsided. I never thought I'd be looking forward to Af, but this time I am!

How's everyone else doing? I had some leaving drinks last night but chose not to drink as still suffering a little from Fri night's excess - must be getting old Xmas Grin

Working from home this morning waiting for the new couch which I am most excited about - it's a Crate and Barrel number and I don't think I'm going to ever want to get off it - oops!

koolforcats · 13/12/2010 05:12

Ok, that explains my foul mood - my period started on Sunday and I feel back to normal and happy again - apart from the fact that I would much prefer to be pregnant of course!

I hope everyone had a good weekend Xmas Smile

koolforcats · 11/12/2010 15:54

winter I hate stats too but also must admit to liking the good ones Blush so I'd be interested in these too. Mind you then I keep thinking about the stats about mc after seeing the heartbeat and it makes me furious again....grrrrr!

Speaking of furiosity (I think I made that word up Smile....that's me today (and yesterday, and the day before...). I literally am feeling rage, which is very unlike me usually. Managing to keep it in but only just. I'm not sure whether this is a stage of grief I missed out on or more likely that my first period since my mc is on its way? It has been 1 month today since my mc so I'm guessing that's it as I did usually have a pretty reliable 28 day cycle. Really want my cycle to start again, I can't stand the pmt monster invading my usually placid being! Also I think I'm the only one on here who still hasn't lost my born again virginity Sad. I am really happy for those of you on your 2 week wait though and I only hope I can join you soon.

Due to have my next bloods done on Tues to see if I still have any hcg still floating around. I doubt I do though as if my mood is a reflection of my (hopefully) imminent period, it's gonna be the mother of them all Shock!

winterwombatland · 11/12/2010 13:24

Hello all and hope you are enjoying your weekends. I have been suffering from shocking hangover most of today and my mantra of "I'm never drinking again" is being said with much conviction! Had a great night at DH work xmas do - it was a 007 themed night and so a great excuse for a new frock and of course the chaps always look lovely in their DJs. Lots of people to catch up with and I was very proud of DH who did great job as the MC.

Sparkly - how was your work party? did you manage to take it easy?

kitkey - what a clever idea to do the OPKs with the cheapies and then follow up with Clearblue digital. I still find it galling that you have to buy a whole new pack just for the sticks when you have a perfectly good digital reader still. Good news that the EWCM and OPK seem to be in agreement - do keep us updated on your bloods.

Brought - hope AF makes an appearance for you soon.

How's everyone else?

I know there is talk of being extra fertile post MC, does anyone know why this might be? Also, while I hate stats at times, I still gobble them up quite avidly - what are the stats for conceiving post MC and prior to first AF?

broughthimroundtotheidea · 10/12/2010 17:28

sorry kitkey crossed posted as I started my reply then buggered off got distracted. Fingers crossed for you this month, and it's not naughty......it's a perk of the job! My DF used to test me for everything if I so much as sneezed growing up!
xxxx

broughthimroundtotheidea · 10/12/2010 17:23

Hi Ladies
Still no sign my AF , weeks 5 now ,we have done it about 4 times using our "not ttc trusty wip it out method" until the new year, but what if........
No sparkly I havn't been lurking following the story about the lego but it sound v interesting! Your DH sounds ace doing the whole story voice thing I just know you will be having one of your own soon.

I definately had extra EWCM too yellow

At winter very jealous about youe 8k run, its been an ice rink here for 10 days now and I am itching to get out again.

Have a good weekend all xxxx

kitkey · 10/12/2010 16:47

Hi all
yellowtomato glad your trip to the consultant was productive.

nurse great news about AF - least all is ok in there!

Glad you feeling a bit more cheerful winter

I like OPKs, I use the internet cheapies from SME fertility (website) then confirm a positive with a clearblue digital smiley face- I sure am obsessed when TTC! Now it has been just over 3 weeks since my ERPC and I tested negative on pregnancy tests on Friday last week so I began furiously doing my OPKs - they turned positive on Wednesday, stayed positive yesterday and are back to negative again today - this coincided nicely with some EWCM. We dtd on Wednesday but I am not aiming for pregnancy this month - although obviously deep down I am - next year before spring would be great though. What I am going to do a day 21 blood test to check my progesterone is high at work next week (very naughty). This will confirm that I ovulated and then I will know to expect my AF and if not there is a problem post ERPC so will hot foot it to drs - as you know I have a really bad fear of Asherman's syndrome. If I get AF i will nearly be as happy as if i get a BFP. for now there is nothing I can do except to try to relax for 2 weeks
I have no plans for the weekend - is anyone else doing anything exciting?

Have a good one.
