Hey yall.. so I've had trouble conceiving since my first pregnacy didn't go so well due to preeclampsia 2 years ago in 2014... now trying again and I don't really ever get EWCM but I did yesterday alot and DTD that night... so are my chances high to get pregnate?

broodywantcoilout · 18/11/2010 21:35

hi, have only read the start of this thread, im sure you'll be fine if you've already done it, if not...
a friend of myn had (on my recomendation)coil (not mirena), she was in a lot of pain, dr got it out as it had moved and started to perforate her uterus... a few months later i went to get my mirena removed to ttc, tehy couldnt find it, in short its perforated my uterus and is at the top of my pelvis (has been v.painful and i can even tell u wen it happened, but i tend to try to ignore pain), waiting 4 op 2 remove it.

on a seperate 'issue' for want of a better word

i had cm a couple of days after 'doing the deed', but this was only a few days after af finished-could i really have ovulated that soon?

prob best to take test at teh earliest-the day ur af due-if you can wait that long! good luck!

LittleOne76 · 17/11/2010 20:25

Not yet...am trying to be patient..although I had EWCM two nights ago and thought maybe I have my dates all wrong and have delayed ovulation and a long cycle this time?? DTD just in case Smile

BathesInAssesMilk · 17/11/2010 16:41

Sooooo....

Has anyone tested yet?

I tested this afternoon - was a BFN. However my wee was very pale and AF isn't due until next Tuesday Grin

It's agonising... what makes it hard is that AF comes and you can't try again the next day...you then have to wait for the next window around ovulation. I just hope the gut feeling is not just totally in my head.
JRsandCoffee - hope you're feeling better. I have my fingers crossed for you.

JRsandCoffee · 15/11/2010 18:09

Should say, I hope that this could be an "oops" moment, it's just agonising is it not???

JRsandCoffee · 15/11/2010 18:08

I'm trying very hard not to navel gaze about the "could I be" question.......because we were all set for a well timed month when I got food poisonining........which I assume to mean not a hope in hell...as, oh how topical, I'm thinking the last time we DTD was about 3 days before I o'd. I'm now due and have absolutely no symptoms of anything whatsoever, which is most unusual....trying hard not to think about it, very hard, particularly as I was up in London at the weekend throwing wine and shellfish down my throat in the sure and certain conviction that I couldn't be in the running this month!!! This could be an "oops" moment......

Hi - I've still got the rumbly tummy feeling and have felt a teeny bit queasy over the past 24 hours. Am very sure I feel something is different and have done so since a few days after having sex but keep trying to manage expectations by thinking surely I am just imagining most of this. My AF hasn't ever been super regular but I think I am due mid next week. Assuming that AF comes on time then I think I am still a little bit too early to test using a home pregnancy test.

I actually have an appointment with my GP tomorrow to check something else (appointment was made weeks ago) so I think I will see if she can do a blood test. They should do this if asked right? Am wondering if she will tell me to just be patient and wait until close to the scheduled AF arrival date..!

Flyingcloud - I think you can us a home preggers test and get a fairly reliable result about 6 days before AF is due (if you use one of the early ones). Understand that you get a better result close to AF and then best results if you are overdue and test then. Am not 100% sure but think a Dr can do a blood test and this can pick up a pregnancy a bit earlier.

sunface · 15/11/2010 13:18

ahhh thanks solo

solo · 15/11/2010 13:15

No I didn't as far as I can remember (Ds is 12.3 now), I'm sure I waited until I was feeling sick! which was after AF was due.

sunface · 15/11/2010 12:57

solo, did you test before AF was due and how long before??

solo · 15/11/2010 12:55

BIAM, I had a naughty, sex fuelled weekend and on the Thursday I just knew I was pg with my Ds...

sunface · 15/11/2010 12:50

oh i'm feeling very like you! DTD last weekend and early in the week and woops spotted some EWCM... dying to test, but think it's wayyyy to early? Probably need to wait another 2 weeks or so when AF due.... unlikely i'll be able to wait that long though. have sore nipples, metallic taste in mouth.... eek!

flyingcloud · 15/11/2010 12:40

Oops, feel almost like I should namechange for this!

We had did the deed last Tuesday in a fit of broodiness following the birth of friends' dd and within 24 hours had ewcm. We were, for lots of reasons, suppopsed to wait until February! Our own dd is 9 months...
Have had similar pre AF Symptoms, heaviness, back ache etc.

When can I take a test?

BathesInAssesMilk · 15/11/2010 10:16

Will do, LittleOne.

I think a couple of days prior to ovulation is (depending on how you feel about being pregnant) ideal, as the sperm are there ready and waiting to meet the ovum. Couples who wait until OV day might have actually missed the boat apparently.

Oh yes, and I'm feeling all sorts of "pregnancy" symptoms too, which is madness, particularly as they started about two days after having sex Hmm

I think my mind is playing tricks, tbh Grin

When is your AF due? I'm going to test Friday I think. I've ordered these as I won't rest easy until I've tested at least a dozen times.

LittleOne76 · 13/11/2010 18:06

Bathes - let us know how you, sorry, your friend, goes. I am in a similar situation where we had sex about 2-3 days before I think I ovulated and it's still too early to test. My lower belly feels a bit rumbly like something is happening (feels like it does in the 24 hours before AF usually arrives)and it's been like that for a few days now but am not sure if this means something or if it's just in my head..!

BathesInAssesMilk · 12/11/2010 12:37

Oh good lord Shock

I calculate, using my trusty spreadsheet (don't ask) that the very earliest I my friend can test is next Friday. Last time I tested positive on day 21 but that would be less than a week after the, ahem, incident, so far too early.

I shall report back.

sheeplikessleep · 12/11/2010 09:42

We DTD on a Monday, got positive OPK on the following Sunday and EWCM from Wednesday onwards (in between).

The result, DS2 is sat on the floor at the moment, playing with his toys Grin.

It can happen.

dottyaboutstripes · 12/11/2010 09:35

My 5th baby was conceived from unprotected sex on cd6.....I ovulated on cd11. He is most def a boy and I we were both 36 when we accidentally made him.

I'll be waiting for your friend's announcement Wink

lenak · 11/11/2010 17:26

Mirena over Depo for me everytime. It took me six months to regain fertility after coming off Depo with a hellish 8 week bleed which was only sorted out with a month of mini-pill (although possibly only relevant if you want kids / more kids).

Also suffered reduced sex drive with depo, particularly at the start of the 12 weeks.

I was lucky though - I didn't have periods with either.

BathesInAssesMilk · 11/11/2010 17:15

Ummm, it's still pretty unlikey though, isn't it, despite the proximity to my ov-ing?

One episode of unprotected sex, late 30s?

A bit Shock at the likelihood demonstrated by this article, although obviously it doesn't take age into account.

BathesInAssesMilk · 11/11/2010 16:37

Thank you, temper :)

OP posts:
tempertemper · 11/11/2010 16:20

Mirena vs depo is horses for courses. Depo is whacking great dose of hormone (enough to last 12 weeks!) and can take 18m after stopping for fertility to come back. But tend to get no periods which can be a rather nice side effect Wink

Mirena seems to divide people. I think its a suck it and see option - lower hormones with less systemic absorption, and usually reduces your bleeds but some people just don;t get on with it. I fit them in others again and again because they love it...

Hope your friend gets the result she wants!

BathesInAssesMilk · 11/11/2010 15:41

Hmmm. So I am possibly pregnant. Probably with a girl (dp is 40+ which I believe increases the chances a little).

I'd quite like a girl, actually (not that I approve of gender preference, you understand).

I mean my friend would quite like a girl.

Female sperm are slower but have more stamina apparently. That's what happened when I conceived Dd.

There is some scientific stuff that substatiates this which is how I 'know,' but I can't recall where I read it.
