A safe haven for those just off the mc rollercoaster and thinking about getting back on or are already on the TTC rollercoaster. Be warned these lovely ladies chat, and the thread moves lightening fast, but all are welcome to join in any time Smile

For those who have just mc'd, there is great info about your first cycle here

If you want to add yourself into the stats, just copy and paste the lot, change everyones CD (cycle day) if necessary and add yourself in.
WTF = first cycle after mc
WTTC = waiting to TTC
CD = cycle day
UCL = usual cycle length

Yes YMOTB POAS POAS POAS POAS POAS POAS!!!!!

AandRMum · 11/11/2010 17:56

This whole process is a bit of a jolt to the system and seems to go through all of the stages of grief you always hear about ... Denial, anger, etc etc. - which I suppose makes sense but bloody annoying that I only ever work out where I am at after emerging from a stage!! Big hugs Nix - it is so frustrating when the harder you try for something the more it alludes you - I think wiggles dh imposed break sounds great - any chance of shipping dh off for a bit! Izzy your acupuncturist sounds fab - having positive people around helps so much. I like hairy have been doing a lot of re-evaluating lately and have gone back to training (even though it takes an hour to get to my PT) she is such a positive supportive person and that combined with refinding a body under all the preg fat I had put in is doing me' the world of good. I am also rejigging my career. All a bit scary but nice to have other things to obsess on! I might add a haircut to the list YRMOTB - always wanted to have a bob but generally chicken out at the last minute. When are you peeiiiiinnnnngggg.
Have a great flight MummyA. waves to all

hairytriangle · 11/11/2010 17:51

Hi MummyAbroad - not yet, as I'm just experiencing my second MC now, but I will hop over there at some point, definately.

Thanks for that info x

MummyAbroad · 11/11/2010 17:38

Hi Hairy,

Have you posted before on the Recurrent Buns thread? There are loads of ladies there who have great information about testing both on NHS and private. Sorry cant remember who, but someone mentioned recently that you can get mc testing in some places if you have had 2 and are over 35. If you havent read it already I would recommend getting hold of a copy of Lesley Regan's book "Miscarriage - what every woman needs to know" she is the head of the recurrent mc clinic at St Mary's hospital. Very good book, but a bit scary reading all at once about every possible scenarios (I started believing I had them all!) but it might help you work out what investigations you would or wouldnt be willing to do and where to go next. xxx

Wise decision hairy , and fx your gp will refer. My dsis recently managed to get an NHS referral for recurrent mc testing after 2 mc's so you might be lucky. She had looked into paying though and I think it was going to be £600-700. So not cheap but got to be worth the money if only for peace of mind and at least then if you do have to make any tough decisions you're making them with all the facts to hand.

YRMOTB hope your ds is ok. very Envy re the new hair - get a pic posted on fb!!

hairytriangle · 11/11/2010 16:51

Thanks Izzy I was lucky to have some basic tests at GPs in Feb - day 4 and day 21 tests. I then paid to have a hycosy after my last MC, and they had a look at my womb and ovaries and they said that all looked fine, except for a blocked tube.

I'm on the waiting list to have a laparoscopy re: the tube.

When I visited hospital this week, they said they don't do any tests until a woman has had three Miscarriages. So I will go and beg my GP after I've resolved this one, otherwise use some of my savings (I was saving for when I'd be on mat leave) to have private multiple miscarriage tests done.

youremindmeofthebabe · 11/11/2010 16:40

i'm sorry all, this is going to be a short one, am in doctors surgery waiting for an appt for ds, so will run if i get called! My sisters coming today, so probs won't be about much. Also can't really scroll back, so apologies for not namechecking. I will be back!

I have new hair! A purple asymmetrical bob, and am feeling quite swish! No sign of af yet.. Will be back when i can, love to all. Am loving the shiiiiny fred. X

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/11/2010 16:38

Sorry x-posts hairy good luck with the re-evaluating, I think it definitely helps to do...I feel so Sad that you're having to make these decisions though...Hope you don't mind me asking but have you been offered any tests? x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/11/2010 16:33

hairy hope you're doing ok? x

(((hugs))) to nicks too, sounds like you're having a bumpy ride at the minute. We will get through this, hang on in there sweets

well I have been for acupuncture, and I love, love, love my acupuncturist! She is just so positive and I came out feeling to much calmer and more upbeat about everything. She has looked at my charts and think I actually ov earlier than ff thinks I do, but my lh levels go up slowly instead of quickly so it doesn't pick it up straight away. Which does make sense when you see my chart. And which also means my luteal phase is at least 10 days at last - woohoo!! Maybe I do stand a chance after all...

hairytriangle · 11/11/2010 16:29

nickster thanks for moving me, it was definately the right thing to do! We went out for a walk around the local pond/beauty spot just now, it was nice to get out.

I've decided to use this time (I think I'll be off work a while) to improve my health and fitness and try and re-focus on my life - I'm a total workaholic and I know there is more to life.

I think I will need to do some re-evaluating about things - and about whether or not I can go through this again.

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 15:43

hairy hope you are doing ok hon? thinking of you! I moved you from Grads to WTTC as i thought it might be too painful to see yourself there. hope you dont mind xx

hairytriangle · 11/11/2010 14:50

Hi just marking my place. I am deffo WTTC at present - thanks for putting me on the list :)

getawiggleon · 11/11/2010 14:09

:) Mummy And thanks for the much-needed mackerel slappage! It was hailing 10 minutes ago here and now there's clear blue sky! Pack every single item of clothing you have, regardless of season!

getawiggleon · 11/11/2010 14:06

Nicks Hurray for thermometer! I took the whole of last month off (didn't have much choice in matter as DH was in bliddy Far East) but I think it did me the world of good. I feel much more relaxed about the whole thing now. I had a massive clear out at home and occupied myself with other little jobs that needed doing for ages etc. I almost went as far as forgetting about ttc when the right time came round again. Obviously it's easy for me to say this and I most likely wouldn't have felt the same if he'd been around but a break can sometimes be a good thing.

FWIW, I also get pmt-like symptoms at ov time, feel really irritable and annoyed with dh for no apparent reason but then get all amorous and chilled out just before af. Convinced nature is conspiring against me!! Think dd also has a little plot going on as she has refused to sleep the whole night in her cot for 2 consecutive months the night before ovulation now Hmm

MummyAbroad · 11/11/2010 13:58

Grin love how the 2WW brings out your sense of humour wiggles!

hope this helps

Loving the pant snot stories and glitzy suspenders ladies! Sounds v promising pink When are you going to test? Another vote for soya lattes too, yum!

sunchild Boo and double boo for AF.
Hiding I received my free prescription charge card thingy about a month after mc. And my 12 week appt letter (like I needed another 'date' to make things worse) It sucks.
inbetweener I think age gap is absolutely fine too. Plus, the older siblings will be able to help out - much easier than having toddler plus newborn!

Ok, so would it be inappropriate to spoil this lovely new thread with some large wet fish? I tested this morning at 6dpo. Yes, that's six, the one that comes after five and just before seven. I haven't even given it a week ffs!

Still, it's an improvement than last month when I tested whilst I was on my period (just to make sure). It kind of satisfies the poas urge and gets the disppointment out of the way early doors iyswim.

It's also sooo ridiculous that it makes me vow not to do it again for another couple of daysweek. If anyone needs anymore ideas on how to frivolously waste cash and (almost literally) piss it up a wall, then check out my website www.wigglesmoneywastingideas.com

MummyAbroad · 11/11/2010 13:37

Hi everyone

inbetweener Of course you should stay here!
I am still here and I have hardly "Just mc'd" not am I "ready to TTC" as thread title saysHmm Dont go anywhere!

Hiding I agree with the others that you should do an HPT. I say that because I am one of the unlucky ones that had retained products and an infection Sad Obviously this doesnt happen to everyone, but I dont think women are warned enough of the possible risks of this happening. Getting your BFN is a really good sign that everything is going back to normal and you are fit and healthy. I think that is important to know for your own peace of mind. If it is still positive go straight to your doctor for antibiotics. Have you read the stuff on the link at the top of the page? Hoping for a BFN for you, and a speedy return to normality.

Nix Yay for themometer! I forgot to do mine this morning, I am out of practice as I had a month off. Bloody annoying as Dr wants to know where I am in my cycle (I am really enjoying talking to a Doctor who likes chartsGrin )

sunchild bugger. sorry about AF

I spent 4 and half hours yesterday arguing over whether my son has one or two surnames! You have to have two over here and it always causes a problem everytime we try and do something officialAngry But I did finally get permission to take him out of the country. Gonna start packing today as we fly Saturday morning! eeek!

OP posts:
PinkFondantFancy · 11/11/2010 13:20

Agree about the closure, finally getting the bfn was like drawing a line under the physical MC iyswim. Also, I can't remember whether you had expectant management or an Erpc but I did expectant and the hospital told me to keep testing for the bfn so that I could know that everything had cleared naturally and I didn't need an erpc. In a way, the relief of it being over outweighed the horrible feeling of POAS without the excited hope of a BFP.

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 13:14

hiding have you had a scan etc? My symptoms disappeared overnight with the MC and once everything had gone that was it!

FX for pink

My heads a bit scrambled at the min, and i dont know why.. thinking at the min i need to take a break from this and take some time out... its all making me a bit crazy! (adding to the frustration and stressiness) dont know, perhaps i just need a holiday. !! The frustration knows no bounds and makes the feeling of uselessness even worse... its cos its out of my control and i am said control freak Hmm

on a plus, today i found the said lost thermometre Blush hiding in my briefcase....FFS! and also my new one arrived with a big pack of pg tests (ordered bloody opks) Confused So back to temping CD17 start of fertile time for me and hopefully some action Grin maybe that will cheer me up Grin

why do i always get psycho around the start of fertile time?!?!?! always have !! supposed to be all nice and flirty not angry.. instead of seducing DH with some suzzy's and saucy nicks i am constantly apologising for being a witch, and grovelling for some action!! Confused Angry oh dear, give me lessons!

Wombat33 · 11/11/2010 13:10

Hugs to Hiding, Sunchild, and also for Inbetweener.

Hiding I also didn't like to get a false BFP so I think after the initial test when I was blleeding, I left it a couple of week and then did a digital test as I figured there was no chance then if seeing a faint line - it was either positive or not. Looking back, I'm glad I got that sense of 'closure' (sounds a bit trite, but I can't think of a better word to describe it). How long has it been for you now?

AandRMum · 11/11/2010 13:06

hiding it took me' ages to poas as well post mc. When I finally did it was a relief to get the BFN. I have put away the second test for when I get a bfp to kind of make up for it ((hmm not too sure of my logic but hey I am also wearing sparkling flashing suspenders!!!))) - I am kidding myself I can hang out long enough each cycle until either af arrives or it is a def bfp!

I also felt like I was pg for most of the WTF cycle. Sorry af got you sunchild ... August babies are just scrummy! If I am upduffed next cycle it will mean 3 bdays in our household one after the other in a matter of days! >

HidingInTheBackRow · 11/11/2010 12:43

Thanks for the hugs!

Sorry you are also feeling rubbish sunchild. We can knock back the wine together and curse our lousy luck Grin

I confess I have not poas since I had my mc confirmed as I couldn't cope with the idea of getting a line that wasn't real...if you see what I mean.

Maybe I should do one and then at least I could be sure in future. I really need to get some backbone! Hmm

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/11/2010 12:28

(((hugs))) to hiding and sunchild , sorry you're having a crap day.

sunchild - come and join me at the bottom, and at least we can keep each other company

just a quickie as due for acupuncture now, will post more later xx
