A safe haven for those just off the mc rollercoaster and thinking about getting back on or are already on the TTC rollercoaster. Be warned these lovely ladies chat, and the thread moves lightening fast, but all are welcome to join in any time Smile

For those who have just mc'd, there is great info about your first cycle here

If you want to add yourself into the stats, just copy and paste the lot, change everyones CD (cycle day) if necessary and add yourself in.
WTF = first cycle after mc
WTTC = waiting to TTC
CD = cycle day
UCL = usual cycle length

pink fx for you I'm sending good vibes for a second line and good news for the weekend- and no yoga!

PinkFondantFancy · 12/11/2010 06:51

Morning all - test this morning = BFN. Still, if FF is to be believed Hmm I'm only 8 dpo anyway so can't get too stressed. Think I'm going to try and step away from the pee sticks until this time next week then at least I'll have tested before I go to yoga and will be able to chill out in the knowledge that my rubbish approximation of a shoulder stand isn't mulching a little bean.

Have got a really weird feeling under my pelvic bone, not a pain but a kind of sharp sensation. Fish please!!!!

Will check in again properly - staring at the pee stick trying to summon up the fecking invisible second line has made me late.........

OrangeToeNails · 12/11/2010 06:28

Morning everyone

Mummya and nix you've answered my question about cervix so saves me asking :) ties in with OPK+ last fri but I know it's WTF this month anyway

desperate for AF to visit :( been 4 weeks today so I know there's plenty of time. Tho I reckon next Fri for some reason

mouse I am sorry what a horrible day. My 16 wk was last Fri and spent whole day at work on verge, then home to bawl my eyes out. I'm anticipating same each marker :(

hiding hehe for 12 months, but I hope you'll have BFP soon. And how insensitive to say that.

Sorry for no namechecking, still getting used to MN on iPhone

MamaPower · 12/11/2010 02:12

Boo!! Hi gorgeous girls! Currently in KL, shopping and eating, it's a tough life!! Return to Blighty tom but not home until late Sunday so catch up with you all properly on Monday. Hope you are all well and look forward to catching up xx

MummyAbroad · 12/11/2010 01:55

sorry Pink just noticed your question. I have a pre op scan on Monday and the op on Tuesday.

I'm really glad its all happening fast because I would be a nervous wreck if I had to worry about this for too long.

deep breath and think calming things...

oooh just remembered mince pies will be in the shops Grin I had to resort to baking them last year.

Hi ladies,

I have managed to get some mickey mouse T shirts in a suitcase, am feeling a small sense of achievment but also massively daunted by the thought of a 16 hour trip on my own wielding suitcases, pram and two year old. Still, its keeping my mind off the opGrin

Nix - the answer to your question is both! For a clear idea of whats going on you would need to do daily checks around ov, it should go like this:

Pre ov it is low, closed and feels firm (like your nose) then it gets gradually higher, more open and softer (like your lips) each day. This could go on for a few days and then very suddenly you should notice a dramatic change one day back to low, closed and firm, this would signal that you have ovulated. Makes sense because you wouldnt want the cervix open and letting in bacteria for any longer than necessary. Once you ov'd the shop shuts quick!

What I have never understood though is why it is HIGH when you ov? why would you want the swimmers to travel further?

Mine is egg shaped too by the waySmile TCOYF says that a slightly open cervix after vaginal birth is normal - I cant feel the opening to mine though, but that is probably because of AS. So if yours is squishy round the outside, perhaps it is in the process of getting softer - moving toward ov? I have never felt it softer in different places, just changing from day to day. If you use FF you can put this info in, cervix position is on the "secondary" tab on the data entry form.

mouse sorry you are feeling low. I echo what the others have said. Dont be afraid to let it all come out, its what you need to do in order to be able to heal. Dont put any pressure on yourself to "get over it" it takes time to really accept your loss and the sadness that comes with it.

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 23:32

wigs yes have just read that it drops very low after OV (mine is only half a finger up!) as the oestrogen falls. thats not good i didnt think i had ov'd yet opks neg!
Oh who the hell knows im off to bed.... temps tomorrow, and forever better than this self torture Grin

having an edward fix before bed, ready for new moon on sky tomorro... just to catch up of course!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/11/2010 23:20

Just a quick one, on my way to bed...pink I'm going twice a month, once before ov and once after. She thought that should be enough. Fx it will!!

(((hugs)))) for mouse and anyone else feeling low, hang on in there x

night all x

getawiggleon · 11/11/2010 23:20

Nicks I'm no cervix expert (have only just found mine at the grand old age of 37) but isn't it supposed to be firm and high just before ov? I'm new to all this cervix checking business but mine almost disappeared before ov this month, it was so high. I nearly waved out of my mouth (tmi)

Apparently if you've had a vaginal birth your cervix will always feel a little open too.

Hopefully Mummy will be checking in later and she's far more clued up on these things!

mouse hope you have a restful night.

mousebacon · 11/11/2010 23:06

Thanks ladies. MN has been so invaluable over the last few weeks - from my terrified post in chat the weekend the bleeding started to this thread. I just can't thank you all enough.

I thought I was past this stage but something's really got to me tonight Sad I just keep hearing the Bob Dylan/Adele song in my head which sets me off again.

I'm going to try and get some sleep; hopefully I'll feel better in the morning. I miss my baby so much but I know you all know what I'm going through.

Ladybee · 11/11/2010 22:47

Sorry that's obviously Thursday's List above.

MouseBacon sorry I missed you while I was writing. It is just little things that get you, isn't it? I know it doesn't seem like it will ever get better, but it will, in time. But I think there are lots of tears to let out, and sometimes they come out in small lots, and sometimes you let them out in huge wails. It's a sad sad thing that happened so don't feel bad about expressing the grief.

Ladybee · 11/11/2010 22:32

HairyT good to see you lady, you sound like you're doing very well, having a look at other aspects of your life. Hope the next few days go as smoothly as possible.

Where's that Jamface gone? Did someone leave her behind in Arezzo? Coo-ee, we're over here!!

Hiding you poor thing, that sounds completely rubbish. The letters and work and everything you do sound very fed up and to be honest I don't blame you. The weekend is almost here, do you have something nice planned?

sunchild sorry AF got you. It was a shorter cycle this time for you, huh? Were you expecting that?

inbetweener stay as long as you like and need. There is a grads thread in pregnancy and they will take great care of you through all the worries and stresses of pg after mc. But you are always welcome here for as long as you want and I hope you won't rush off Smile

nickster I get like this too - but I hadn't equated it with hormones - I just assumed it was suppressed stress as we got closer to the time when it mattered, I'd get increasingly annoyed and resentful with DH if he wasn't looking like getting to action stations. I hate having to walk the tightrope between letting him know I'm getting into the zone and not putting too much pressure on. It's crap. I think one of the reasons I was so annoyed that I'm looking to have failed this month is because even though we only had sex a couple of times, it was really good GrinGrin and we both enjoyed ourselves. It would have been so lovely if had worked out from a time we had a great time rather than just going through the motions.

mummyabroad that's great you've got the permission. You must be feeling so many emotions right now!

Getawiggle 6 D P O.

youremindme you tested on Wednesday didn't you? but still no AF...do you think you'll do another soon?

I tested this morning too (just to torture myself a little more Smile) and it was..BFN..what a surprise. Just waiting for AF to appear which will most likely be tonight.

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 21:38

Hmm i was one of those people fondant sadly thats what you do when you conceive, quickly or not, its happy news you want to share, you will be so proud when you conceive, happy and ecstatic, bet you flash your pic Grin Saying that having sat on the other side for a while it will make us all more considerate. I am quite proud of myself atm, manage to not to attempt running over the "ladies with bumps" walking out in front of the motor Grin ...progress!

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 21:32

fondant thanks i now have 3 therms to choose Confused from so will keep one spare in my car!!

Whos due to test?

PinkFondantFancy · 11/11/2010 21:27

Hey mouse (((hugs))) sorry for rubbish day-I find that some days are just like that and it doesn't seem to be anything in particular that sets it off :( I can't believe what they said to the other teacher in front of you!! That is shocking!!

Big hugs for hiding too. You might have noticed but this is one of my absolutely hobby horse rant topics-people announcing how they didn't mean to get pg or that it was so easy or flashing around their scan photos. They are completely oblivious to how completely lucky they are and to how much hurt their comments cause. :( :( :( it's v hard to deal with, I hope the cake made you feel a bit better at least.

nickstermum · 11/11/2010 21:26

Grin @ 12 months hiding

Question for mummy if she can find the time in between packing & unpacking! My cervix is low! as in mega low! Educate me please someone... does it do that before fertile time, or after ov? Just wondered. I have a wierd cervix, it seems to have a hole in it permanently Hmm is all squishy round the outside and is shaped like an egg. I have had a Vag birth which alters it, and i did have cervical problems at delivery...but even so! its a bit bizarre!

Sorry about the pg announcements :( & sorry you are feeling down mouse 16 weeks is a date isnt it :( I would have been...nope have stopped counting at 20 weeks! i think i prob would have been around 24 weeks now and its sad to think about it but i am getting stronger...lighting a candle at babyloss week helped me and also talking about it too. bonkers that i have told people who didnt know, after it happened helps with the closure imho.

HidingInTheBackRow · 11/11/2010 21:13

golly...I hadn't notice my little slip Grin

12 weeks obviously...

It is shit, particularly when she goes 'we were only going to see what happens but I got pregnant straight away. It was such a surprise'. grrrr...it took me 9 months to get pregnant (and it was months not weeks!). Not that I'm bitter. On the plus side the cake was very nice Wink

Hitting the dates seems really difficult, I am dreading 12 weeks which will be soon. I hope you feel better once the 16 week milestone has passed for you.

mousebacon · 11/11/2010 20:50

No worries - your post made me smile Smile 12 months pregnant? Poor girl... Wink

Hope you're ok, it's shit isn't it? I really hope there are no announcements at work any time soon xx

HidingInTheBackRow · 11/11/2010 20:34

Oh, sorry for the x post mouse!

((((massive hugs)))

I am sorry you are feeling awful. That was very insensitive of whoever said that to the teacher. It's none of their damn business Angry

HidingInTheBackRow · 11/11/2010 20:30

Argh.. I forgot to say. Had someone at work waltz into the office today to tell everyone she is 12 months pregnant. Cue frolics and cooing all round and me sneaking out of the office to go sit in the toilets feeling sorry for myself. Sad

Had to go and buy cake to make me feel better and repeat 'I am happy for her' over and over to myself.

mousebacon · 11/11/2010 20:27

Hi ladies, hope you're all well. I'm thinking of you hairy

Feeling a bit sad tonight. I would have had my 16 week appointment today, heard the heartbeat for the first time etc.. it all seems such a waste. Sad

I don't know what to say really. Another teacher at work is only temporary and was told (in front of me) that she would've been kept on if 'things hadn't happened' ugh.

I'm just so, so sad. I keep bursting into tears over tiny things like being able to carry a box of marking to the car pressed up to my tummy. It's so silly but I just want my baby back....

Sorry for the gloom Sad xxxx

HidingInTheBackRow · 11/11/2010 20:27

Thanks for the advice guys about poas. I shall go and buy some this weekend and get it over with. I know I'll feel better once I do.

I should be ok regarding left over bits as when I had my second scan they said it was pretty much all over on its own and everything had gone. I finished bleeding completly a couple of days later on the 31 Oct. So it's been a couple of weeks now really.

babe I am totally jealous of your purple hair! Envy I used to have big blue dreads but I don't think that would go down too well in my current job Hmm

PinkFondantFancy · 11/11/2010 19:40

Hello all!

wiggle I was thinking maybe tomorrow but only if temps haven't dropped when I take them tomorrow am. I am bricking it though, sick of the sight of BFN's and doing a test always makes my heart race.... Hehehe about your testing, glad it's not just me that has been known to test durin period, just to be sure!!! Hopefully you were just too soon and a mighty BFP is on its way for you...

nix gah how annoying about thermo!! Since you travel so much tho maybe you could test a couple of times to make sure they give the same answer and then leave on at home and the other in your briefcase? Sorry you're having a tough time, I think you're at the hardest part of the cycle at the mo as it puts you under a lot of pressure-at the start I'm always optimistic and at the end on a good day I can chill and see what happens (when I'm taking a break from studying my chart and panicing about whether shags were poorly timed). Big hugs for you lovely, hope the suzzles do the job of enticing DH to get involved!! Acu is fab defo give it a try. There's a register of people that specialise in fertility, if I can find it I'll post it here.

hairy good plan with the reevaluating. The mc has defo made me think harder about my life as I do quite a stressful job too. Make sure you take as much time off as you need.

aandr I love the idea of designated worry time! Unfortunately if I could even designate a no-worry time I think I'd be doing well!!!!

inbetweener don't go anywhere!! Plus I seem to remember that owly bricked up the door a little while ago so once you're in you're stuck forever mwah ha ha.

izz fab news about the longer luteal phase!! Glad you had good time at acu, positivity is definitely helpful! How often do you have an acu appt? I've been having weekly but wanted to check she's not taking the pee!!

babe hope DS is ok! Your new hair sounds amazing! Have you put a pic on bookface? I can't remember who are bookface friends so if you have I'll have to look up my bookface translation cheat sheet!!! Have you peed yet??

mummya best of luck for the flight on sat! What day's your operation?

Have a fab evening all! Xx

MummyAbroad · 11/11/2010 19:01

Gah, packing is useless DS unpacks everything faster!

Hairy - there are quite a few of us on that thread doing testing who have not had three mc's, plenty of room for one moreSmile I know right now you need some time to deal with your grief and get back on your feet, do take lots of time for that. But if and when you feel ready to try again I really recommend getting pushy with doctors and/or taking matters into your own hands privately. Its really worth the hassle. I have just spent 7 months trying to find out what was wrong with me, and I cant tell you the relief I feel to have finally got a diagnosis and treatment plan. There are absolutely no guarantees that I will be able to get pregnant again, but at least the doubt and worry about the unknown has gone and I know what is going on. Take care xxx

hhmmm I want a new haircut, career makeover, and toned up body nowEnvy

and can you girls do that peeing before I get on the plane? I dont want to miss the goss!
