A safe haven for those just off the mc rollercoaster and thinking about getting back on or are already on the TTC rollercoaster. Be warned these lovely ladies chat, and the thread moves lightening fast, but all are welcome to join in any time Smile

For those who have just mc'd, there is great info about your first cycle here

If you want to add yourself into the stats, just copy and paste the lot, change everyones CD (cycle day) if necessary and add yourself in.
WTF = first cycle after mc
WTTC = waiting to TTC
CD = cycle day

PS Wedding aniv fab, thanks. Only been married a year but it took him 20 years to finally get me to agree to a date...I'm not kidding, he used to chase me around the school playground when I was 13 Grin Grin boys!!!

DachshundsRule · 22/11/2010 16:41

Hello peeps

Have been lurking rather than posting as I am feeling really miserable. Birthday on Friday, desperately want to know before then as will be really miserable that I'm not pg. I'd really like to have a drink on my birthday if it's going to be bad news but I'm not meant to officially test until Monday, so I can't celebrate at the weekend. Don't feel pg, really think it hasn't worked. Feeling increasingly pessimistic about it working before my due date (March 11th). Weather miserable. Wagner somehow still on X Factor. Life sucks. Spent most of weekend sobbing at DH. Although we did see the new Harry Potter movie yesterday :)

Hope you're all doing better than me! :)

Wombat33 · 22/11/2010 14:02

Hi all!! Like yrotb my MN time at the weekend is very limited. Big big hugs to all those struggling at the moment. I felt similar a few weeks ago but thank god, a combination of things seems to have pulled my out of it [for now]. I hope you all find the cloud lifts soon.

I did go for my run yesterday, and on Saturday in fact. Am now stressing that all that jiggling about will have been bad for any potential bean, but hey ho. It's keeping me sane at least. My temps went up this morning so I think I'm now officially on the 2ww. Pineapple juice and brazil nuts ahoy!

Mummye that hotel/spa looks amazing! My passpot is packed. Hope I don't need any jabs Confused

Dachs How are you doing?! Is it your bday about now too??

Hello to everyone else. (I can't keep up with all the posts but I'm hoping that me chipping in a bit is better than not at all even if I don't manage personal mentions to everyone each time :))

Any news from dachs?

nickstermum · 22/11/2010 13:51

babes you most def arent negligent!!! Good stuff, sounds fab will be thinking of you at the weekend :( maybe you should light a candle or something once the party is finished? Give yourself five mins to reflect or something....?

Many people have said the run up/anticipation/expectation of the due date is worse than the actual due date itself, so i hope thats also the case for you too :)

youremindmeofthebabe · 22/11/2010 13:44

Hello all. Hope you're all well. It seems like we have a bit of a slump at the minute, pink i think it's entirely possible that having other bereavements in your life will make the feelings surrounding the mc more complicated. Fwiw, my dp's father died when he was young, and I know that he has only really managed to come to terms with it since ds was born, I think the whole birth death cycle is incredibly complicatedly linked in us all. Hugs for you. And tunnocks sorry you're feeling low. And also chocky.Sad

I have realised that my cycle of mumsnetting is almost prolific during the week and non-existent at the weekend! So sorry for that, but it looks like you're all coping well without me.

Sunday is ds's party. And my due date. I'm ok about it today, but will reserve judgement until afterwards. I'm actually really busy all weekend, so it doesn't seem like i'm going to have 5 seconds to call my own anyway.

aandrmum homemade sounds lovely. So much more character. What have the parties been like? For ds's party (4) I am just doing pass the parcel and musical statues or musical chairs. cake and party food and party bags. In a church hall. Am I negligent??Grin

Hi Girls
I´ve been having a rough few days and feeling really down in the dumps so I stayed away. Feeling bit dodgy today so Im snuggled on the sofa after sleeping until midday.
I really thought I had come to terms with mc but it seems the approach of Christmas has been getting me down the past week. Today Ive got a headache from hell, okay it could be due to too much sleep.

Must go and read what youve all been up to -but thought Id do the list.
x

nickstermum · 22/11/2010 13:11

Doubtful, i have a vivid imagination Grin [grn] Hmm

HongKongBaby · 22/11/2010 12:12

oh nickstermum I hope all these symptoms are the real deal! Another week or so to find out is it? Fingers x'd.

nickstermum · 22/11/2010 11:49

mornin' ladees!

mummy movements as such i have always found are affected by hormone fluctuations, particularly when i was going through MC :( I have since noticed that changes are significant around OV and AF, maybe its cos you are being given extra hormones to thicken the lining?

I am also hot! (not symptom spotting though no not me!) I was at a meeting last week and i happened to mention i was hot during the night and therefore hadnt slept in my hotel room to be met with " you must be expecting then" from one of the guys i was meeting with. To say i nearly crawled up my own arse.... understatement.... he doesnt know i was supposed to be expecting, nor that i am hoping to be expecting!! Thankfully my boss answered it with a flippant "remind me never to tell you i am hot then" kind of thing!!
Mortification - lesson for me - tact always helps!!

DH has been sick this morning, so i suspect its a bug and that my nausea this morning is either my imagination or is related to the weekend!!

I think i am turning into a halfwit! Grin

MummyinEngland · 22/11/2010 10:02

hi all,

teacake and pink, big squeezes for you. You've already had some great advice so nothing more to add, just that I am another one who counselling has helped. Do be prepared to shop around for another counsellor if you dont "click" with the first one you meet, all have different talents and it is important that you have a raport with them or it wont really work.

AndRMum - home made all the way!! It teaches them to be creative, recycle and have fun with simple things, what does buying them an expensive costume teach them? Hmm

Nix I sympathise with the tummy problems, this high does HRT is no fun! TMI... look awa now... I have gone from constipated to diarrea in one day Sad whats going to happend tommorrow? Confused

Ladybee · 22/11/2010 09:11

Just a bit more...
My thoughts about my own 'black dog' feelings run a bit along the lines of:
It's normal and rational and healthy to be sad and grieve and be angry about a sad and basically 'unfair' thing that happened to you. BUT if those thoughts, feelings etc start being out of proportion to what happened, or they actually stop you from performing actions you need to do to live your life ( wash hair, open mail, go to work, eat regularly, think about something else sometimes) then it's crossed a line and you need help.
It doesn't need to be as bad as that to get help, especially counselling, of course. But for me, having that line in mind has been useful in knowing when I'm getting close or when I just need to give myself some space to grieve.

Ladybee · 22/11/2010 09:04

Hi all super busy weekend here I definitely feel the need for a second Sunday. On phone so can't scroll much.

tunnocks and pink sorry to hear you think depression is lurking. I felt the same way - still do when I get trapped in a low patch. It is worth talking to a gp about, they can refer to counselling or just monitor. Pink I think it was you who said that talking about things won't make it different. And that's true, it won't bring your pg back or necessarily make you pg quicker - although could help reduce stress hormones - but as knitter said it can help to identify other ways to think, or reasons why you react in particular ways - and that can be helpful in dealing with the emotions. Don't discount the effect of hormones in your cycle though, they're powerful.
I had pnd with DS, and counselling was v v helpful for me in identifying and finding ways to cope with the anxieties and come to terms with the change in identity. But it was coming off the minipill that stopped almost overnight the irrational thoughts, rage, and fears.

OrangeToeNails · 22/11/2010 07:02

Oops pink I meant :) not ;) how inappropriate an emoticon at the end of what I said

OrangeToeNails · 22/11/2010 07:00

Morning everyone, don't know about you but the weekend went so fast, and after yesterday I just need another day to relax. Already thinking about the early night I'm having and dh is away so can get into my pjs straight away :)

AandR I think home made is cool, its creative not being a cheapskate

pink so sorry to hear that. I had counselling in April, 12 1xhour sessions, did me the world of good. I started them to help my anxiety, and along the way realised so much about myself I didn't realise was effecting me - a real shock - and felt like a weight had been lifted and a new person. So I would defintately recommend ;)

nix fx it's a bean, not the food

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 21/11/2010 22:27

((( nix ))). Am keeping my hopes up and fx for burrowing bean...

AAndRMum homemade costumes rock! Don't listen! Oddly enough I did buy my DCs costumes last year but always, always make my own!

nickstermum · 21/11/2010 21:13

Grin A&R fwiw tesco and sainos do reallly cheap kiddies dressing up outfits 6 or 8 quid a pop! IKWYM we have been to 5 kids parties in the last 2 weeks all with bouncy castles/teas/fab party bags, we did tea and cake for fam and close friends only!! Netting is better than a plastic bag, xx

I am ok this eve, we had a curry from a very reputable restaurant that we always use for take out last night and im not sure whether it was that.... either that or i am 7dpo and its a burrowing bean and a hormone surge that caused it!!! very doubtful on the latter Angry Have had an aft at Fun4all with DS and a couple of chums and their olds and they had a fab time!

pink sorry you lost your dad a while back lovely. It makes sense to go chat to someone if you think the MC has had an effect and dragged up old buried but not forgotten issues x

Well 7 dpo and symptom spotting of course! Nowt! Tummy cramps galore sorry TMI alert my bowel/insides feel so enflamed from last night i think thats what they are rather than anything else! Blush

AandRMum · 21/11/2010 19:51

Pink So sorry about your Dad. I would highly recommend counselling. I haven't had official therapy but one of my friends is a psychologist and I have made use of her skills more times than I can count and surprisingly talking things through with someone who is non-judgmental and can listen well makes the world of difference, as it allows you to make connections between repetitive patterns of behaviour and work out things to do to break them. I think the deal is - You know yourself best and therapy gives you some head space to work things out.

Teacake Pink big group hug. Depression is just so hard - I teetered on it a while ago and was frustrated by doctors trying to throw drugs at it.

Nix I am amazed you are alive and kicking after that much up and downing. Hope your tummy bug has disappeared and you get a decent kip tonight.

I am trying to make an angel outfit for nursery play. Went to the millionth 4 year old birthday party this afternoon and have come back feeling completely out of sorts. What happened to having a couple of best friends over, a wonky homemade cake, some party games by Mum or big sister/aunt and a slice of cake to take home to Mum - did I grow up in a sitcom? Anyway overheard all the Mums talking about the angel outfits they have bought! Poor DD1 is going to be the only one with a homemade outfit - can you be socially excluded at this age - am I rubbish Mum to be using old flynetting to make her outfit? Sad Was feeling all creative but now feel like a cheapskate!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 21/11/2010 19:36

(((hugs))) to tt and pink it's bloody hard isn't it? I do feel for you and tt I kind of know how you feel about the of announcements, I'm coming up to my due date and have had 7 birth announcements on facebook over the last couple of months. Do not feel guilty or self-indulgent, just look after yourself. pink I'm really sorry to hear about your dad, I think sometimes a second loss not only adds to it but sort of compounds the grief about the first loss as well if that makes sense? So it's natural that it brings back those issues and feelings of grief related to your dad Sad

I think it was knitter who had counselling and really rated it? Maybe worth asking her more about it?

nickstermum · 21/11/2010 18:05

teacake dont hang head in shame lovely, we all have indulgent posts xxx thats why were here xxx
