Everyone will probably see this thread was started by me and think "Oh god, not her again".

You can tell it's getting towards that time of the month.

Anyway, on day 26 of cycle - have had a really dull tummy ache for last 2 days as if A/F is going to arrive - actually been going to the toilet to check it's that bad (Gross i know but i have to be graphic).
Woke up this morning feeling really sicky but thought i was just probably hungry as had not eaten last night - therefore went to the shop to buy a Mars Bar (Healthy, i know) and have now just thrown the whole mars bar back up again.

Is it just wishful thinking? Can't test yet as cycle's vary from 28 days to 38 days.

Really?!!!!! Did you get them as early as 6 days after ov? Were the leaky bits the Montgomery's glands or your actualy nipple ends? Mine are the nipple ends. Was the liquid clear?

Thanks for replying, I was so excited I have been checking for messages all day to see if anyone else had had them!

quackers · 30/08/2003 18:56

Oh Gosh Egypt, yes it does sound very promising. I ha dfluid with my first ( successful) pgcy!!!! There called montgomerys tubercules ( I think). They feel a little tender when u touch them, but not everyone gets them until later. there like tiny raised bumps on your nipples. Fingers are crossed for you, its going to be a long 2 weeks!!!

bunny2 · 29/08/2003 20:33

Egypt, I will keep my fingers crossed that this will be YOUR month. You've worked hard for it.

Egypt · 29/08/2003 18:26

Quackers, what do you mean exactly by glands on nipples. I have a lumpy bit on one, but think its always been there, however it does feel v sore to the touch. Also just sitting here shaking, as just squeezed nipples, which i've never done before, but a very little clear fluid came out. oh god oh god oh god......read b4 that this happened to someone on here when just preg. help?!!!!!! cant get hopes up, cant cant cant

Sorry to hear that it wasnt your month this time Jem xxxxx

quackers · 29/08/2003 15:02

That's good BB!! I'm not going o get into that this time with DH as he's obviously fed up with it now! I suppose it;s cos we just had our first so easily and never knew until I was nearly 6 weeks. Then the 2 disappontments, so I want to try and be natural - well he'll think it;s natyral anyway! My DH was obliging too - amazing isn't it! Not xxxxx
Nik, I'm really sorry you had a m/c after such effort to get pg. I wonder if this is the cause - the short luteal phase thing. They can lengthen it I believe by giving u clomid to stimulate the FSH hormone for longer and thus suppressing the LH a bit.

BigBird · 29/08/2003 14:38

oh yes - he is very obliging!!! It was every day for the last few mths so this is a break!!! (and I mean for the week...not the whole month)

he's well into all the ttc stuff and even taking zinc etc himself for those little swimmers. He's well up on the in's and out's of temping and opk's etc.

niknik · 29/08/2003 13:09

Quacks re. my periods, I was concerned about them before I concieved as I was sometimes only 8 and 9 days from Ov to period so my GP was going to refer me to Fertility Doc back in Jan but then I fell pregnant in Feb (the only month that I did'nt temp or Persona as I did'nt think it was worth it) but then m/c'd in March.

I keep thinking that I should do the same again this month but I don't know if I could bear too.

quackers · 29/08/2003 11:59

Ha Ha,gosh if they looked at my web visits history, they would have a right laugh, I'm convinced IT know all my problems!! Yes every other day should be enough Bigbird, how do you get in the mood for that? Is DH?P always obliging??

BigBird · 29/08/2003 11:45

hey quacks - going fine. I've decided to bd every other day this mth instead of every day....see if it makes a difference!!!

Hi niknik - I have a spreadsheet too that I started when we started ttcing, with my cd1 dates and (if that month were to be successful) the due date. I copied out 7 or 8 mths thinking there's no way it'll take that long...and this mth i've reached the end and have to copy some new mths on
I hope no-one at work opens it by mistake

quackers · 29/08/2003 10:44

God, I've heard worse on here, doesn't bother me. xx

quackers · 29/08/2003 10:43

I probably have about 11-12 days between LH and period, so I suppose they say 10-16 days is normal, I'm just like u, wanting to find a cause. Did u have this before your m/c? How many days do you ahve 10? They say 10+ is normal, less than 10 , then there is not sufficient time to build up the lining. I sort of think though if it implanted ok and went on for a few weeks, then is most probs isn't LH. Don't know if it can affect the embryo later or not. As you can see, on internet again at work doing research. Great idea to do a spreadshett though - well done.

niknik · 29/08/2003 10:41

I've just read that back, sorry to be so graphic

niknik · 29/08/2003 10:38

Quacks I think with Luteal Phase Defect you come on your period to early for the egg to implant. I must learn to stop diagnosing mysef.

I am fed up I get really bad pains before I start my period, but since my m/c (when I had what I thought was pre period pains and took everything from Brufen to Night Nurse not realising I was pg) I dare not take any thing until I am nearly flooding

Azure · 29/08/2003 10:26

Jemma7, sorry to hear that it wasn't your month. Best of luck for the next month, particularly if you're armed with OPKs and Persona.

quackers · 29/08/2003 10:07

Nik Nik, mine are short too. 24/25 days - what does it mean? Could this be why I'm miscarrying? I was always 28 days until the birth of DD. My cycle is really mixed up this month, prob won't have bloods until next cycle. Had 2 days of brown, just now and it's gone bright red and heavier again with clots. Bummer, told DH he might have got action tonight!! Think the best thing I can do is temp charting for now with Persona.

niknik · 29/08/2003 09:54

I'm not too bad thanks Quack but I am only on Day 24 and my temp has dropped dramatically over the last two days and I am getting my usual pre period cramps, so it looks like another short luteal phase if I come on tonight as I think I O'd on Day 15.

I am busy doing graphs on Excel (Dont tell my Boss !!!) of my temp charts over the last 6 months to show my Doc to see if this helps him to recognise any problems I might be having.

I have diagnosed myself with Luteal Phase Defect.

quackers · 29/08/2003 09:39

Hey Big bird, how's it going chuck! Wise words, yes I think you;re rught, with OPK's it's the shortest cycle you take. Jems that temp kit at boots is fab! I'm going to start using it now, I didn't last time but I think it is really useful. Also if your temp remains high after so many days it means your PG! Cheap way of knowing or what!!

BigBird · 29/08/2003 09:36

bad news Jemma7. Hope it will be this mth. I would second temping aswell. Pop to boots and buy their temping kit and it will surely give you an accurate picture along with the OPK's and persona. For such irregular cycles I think you take your shortest cycle, subtract 14 days and start from there. You might need 2 packs if this is a lng cycle month. You can buy them cheaply on the internet too - testforless.com and some other places. With that and your persona you should get a really good picture. It helps to know your cycle but obviously plenty of bd'ing aswell.

quackers · 29/08/2003 09:35

Hi Nik Nik, how are you! Yes Nik Nik is right Jems, press your M button in the am at say 8am and press it twice till it shows day 2. You won't be asked for a test until day 6 though. It is a little easier with persona but if your cycles are more than 34 days (i think) it doesn't say use it, but I beleive this is cos it is meant for contraception, since you are just looking for the LH surge, it shouldn't matter. You will need to give 16 tests this first month and it might feel a real pain, but it gets easier the following month, maximum of eight tests. Hiep we haven't confused u!!!!! xxxxx

niknik · 29/08/2003 09:16

I'm so sorry Jems, I really had my fingers crossed for you that it was your month.

Hopefully using your your OPK's and Persona will give you greater information regarding when you ovulate.

With you having fairly long cycles you probably wont need to OPK for a while yet, it should tell you on the packet exactly which day. Thats why I like Persona as it tells you what to do on each day without you having to think about it.

Have you pressed your m button on your Persona this morning? If not you can do it tonight if you want to test on the evenings, or probably easier in the mornings so then you would press the m button tomorrow morning till it says 2.

If you do it at say 8 o clock it means your testing window will be between 5 and 11 which is quite good if you have a lie in.

By the way do you temp?

quackers · 29/08/2003 09:06

Oh Jems, so sorry , don't worry though you will get lucky soon. Glad you're ok and can now move onto the next cycle, feels good when it's a new cycle, I'm only on day 4 , so we'll be very close this month! Depends on the kit you have, but have a look at the instructions. It will tell u when to strat testing. If your cycle is 35 days?? this time, then it will probably say start testing on day 15/16, but as your cycles are so irregular it may be worth starting say day 13 and possibly getting another kit if no ov. That means you ov last month most probs on day 17/18!! This will help u defo!!

Jemma7 · 29/08/2003 08:58

Ahh thanx for the words or wisdom girls but A/F arrived this morning.
I'm not too bothered - i knew it was going to happen anyway so i prepared myself a bit.
Anyway, better luck BD'ing this month.
Going to start using my ClearBlue OPK's now - as i have come on this morning but was at work and obviously haven't got my OPK with me, when do i do the first test?
God, your going to be in for it now - 'm going to be asking even more questions. :0

quackers · 29/08/2003 08:53

Me tooo, I had period cramps, light ones yes but I thought it was prob my period. You never know.
Thanks Egypt!! Yes I get achy boobs very early and then pretty much nothing until light cramps, I also get those little glands on my nipples - infact they're still there now which is very annoying! Have you those - not everyone gets them though until later. I was like that too, went easy on alcohol from mid cycle just in case!
Got another doc's appointment about this LH. next Thurs.

bunny2 · 28/08/2003 18:39

Jems, I dont want to get your hopes up but I second Egypt, I had what I thought were period pains. I even told dh that we obviously werent lucky this month as I was just about to come on. Well, you know the rest, I was pg. Many women get pains very early on, its all the ligaments stretching. As I said, sont want to get your hopes up but you never know.

Egypt · 28/08/2003 18:23

jems - have you ever had period cramps before your P? not trying to get hopes up either, but a few of my friends had terrible P pains, but no P, then discovered they were pg! You never know.

Quackers, your mention about the achey boobs sounds v promising! they still are a bit tender. not going to drink alcohol until 2 weeks just to be sure! (she says that now )

Hey, you DO fit in. You are a ttcer, just waiting for a bit.

Hi Bigbird, happy bding!!

Jemma, I know how you feel about work. ughggh. Chin up chuck. friday tomorrow
