Thanks. Just going to have a nice, festive weekend; christmas cake, tree, decorate house etc and put this out of my mind. Will try and convince myself it's just a normal period.

If it is a mc will I definately need to see someone medical? Am worried they might not even believe I'm pg again! x

spilttheteaagain · 09/12/2010 21:02

((hugs)) mouse what a horrible horrible waiting and worrying game.

I think they test the HCG twice 72 hours apart don't they? No idea how long it would take to come back.

Fingers crossed for you xx

GetDownYouWillFall · 09/12/2010 20:59

Oh mouse Sad All I would say is if your pregnancy test still looked dark then that is a good sign.

When I had my MC I did a test and the line had got fainter than it did when I first got the BFP. Also from what I've heard red blood is concerning, brown blood less so.

Hope it all is ok. xxx

spilttheteaagain · 09/12/2010 20:58

Hmm a bit nervous Nix but also a certain amount of "what will be will be". By all accounts we should be ok really. I probably caught it 3 months ago, and the chances of transmitting it to the baby if you actually catch it in the 1st tri are only 15%, my odds will be much less because of it happening a little while ago, I'm just probably not immune yet. There's a 25% chance this conception will come to nothing anyway, and that's just normal stats, nothing to do with the infection. Early days indeed. But I am being scrupulously hygenic.

mousebacon · 09/12/2010 20:55

Just had more. A big gloop this time. Doesn't look good. Am trying not to freak out and I know I'd be saying 'implantation' if it was any of you. It really couldn't be described as blood, definately brown fluid more than anything. Was going to tell DH tonight over dinner but will wait and see now.

Will be 6 weeks on Monday so if there's no more blood I'll try and get a scan booked in. I'd been home at lunchtime and took another test which is still v dark so am hoping all is not lost. Will take temp in the morn and maybe that'll give me a clue.

How quick would I get blood results back? I think being in denial about this has definately helped. Still have slightly sore boobs but haven't really had any symptoms to lose tbh.

Thanks for all your messages. xx

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 09/12/2010 20:09

Know what you mean spilt big and fast moving threads are often like that, nice to see some others in the same boat though huh? Cripes so you have to wait a whole 10 weeks ish goodness x sounds like clutching at straws but is there anything alternative medicine kind of thing that you could look at? Prob not for that kind of infection maybe. How do you feel about that lovely?

terrys my norks are normally like fried eggs so i am looooving pregnancy boobs Xmas Grin didnt get big until a day or two ago, starting to get sore now. Xmas Grin re the sports bra! Every pregnancy is different. My first was totally diff to second, again this will be diff too i expect. Roll on sickness Xmas SmileIF good to hear you are better, get those calories into you. Disposable Gloves for litter tray, or leave it for DH!!

Glad to hear more of the motorway network norks Xmas Grin mines got the m6 on it.

mouse hope you are ok lovely xxx

spilttheteaagain · 09/12/2010 19:52

Thinking of you mouse, hope it's nothing xx

IfAtFirst too darn right. Put a peg on your nose and leave the cat poo for DH!

Nix I had another chat to the doc when she phoned this afternoon. She'd been speaking to the microbiology labs etc and found that the only antibiotic they would give a pregnant woman for toxoplasmosis is not licensed for the 1st trimester. So pretty much we're winging it with our fingers crossed that this time the odds are on our side. She's referred me to the consultant now early scan, bloods, general consultant led care. Whilst this is nice and I will feel very looked after, it's a pita to have to drive 30 mins and into the city centre for appointments instead of walking 5 mins to the GPs.

Seeing community MW on 21st for initial appointment with her too. Same one as last time which is nice because I liked her.

Girls I'm a bit shy of the August AN thread - thousands of strangers again! I like it here Smile

TerrysNo2 · 09/12/2010 19:50

I don't think I ever got big/sore breasts apart from when I missed a BF with DS. I do remember having ridiculously sensitive nipples though (like they could feel the cold air even through clothing).

I'm off to read my previous AN thread to see what was happening, although last time I didn't even know I was PG until I was 6 weeks but I remember feeling nauseas and having cramping straight away.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/12/2010 19:47

Terry's, they started feeling a bit sore immediately after OV, but that happens sometimes with me. They started getting really sore not long after my BFP at 4 weeks. In the 2 weeks since my BFP, they have gone up a size, are rock hard, the areola have expanded and puffed up, and have lovely blue veins - sounds attractive doesnt it!? I dread taking my bra off, and find it so uncomfortable in bed.

TerrysNo2 · 09/12/2010 19:39

mouse to you and I am keeping my FX that it is just left over implantation blood. Keep us updated!

When did your boobies (love that word Grin) start hurting IfatFirst? Mine aren't doing anything atm. Although, I did have a dream last night that while writing on MN saying my breasts weren't hurting they suddenly turned rock hard!! Grin Nope, not happened!

LadyG should I stop temping and cervix checking now? It feels like another part of my routine now.

battery and MrsA I hope you get +ve OPKs and lots of SWI-ing in this weekend! Smile

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/12/2010 19:27

again - soz about the lack of paragraphs! Angry

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/12/2010 19:26

wow! What a thread with all these BFPs popping up all over the place - a tentitive congrats to you Spilt, you mega-fertile person you! Grin Mouse, try not to panic,as others have said, it sounds like old blood. Fingers crossed for you x I have now made it to 6 weeks :) and am starting to pull myself round a bit, jut in time for the real sickness to supposidly kick in. Appetite is starting to return, so no doubt I'll start piling on all of those lovely pounds I have lost. People at work have noticed that I've lost weight and are saying how good I look Hmm apart from they grey face and bags under my eyes that others have commented on! My boobies are horrendous at the mo, they are so-o-o sore and swollen, I'm considering wearing some sort of sports bra to bed, as I cant bare to not wear one (I'm usually only a 36b, so I feel sorry for all you ladies with big norks!). Have got a lovely night to myelf tonight, DH is out on his Xmas do, so a cup of decaf, a pack of choccie biccies and Live Corrie is in order Grin, although he ha left me with a stinky cat litter tray which I'm frightened to clean out Confused

LadyGoneGaga · 09/12/2010 18:52

It was a bit random at first, Nix. Up and down all over so stopped checking it and only checked it again today!

Any news, Mouse?

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 09/12/2010 17:49

mouse :( not what you need to stay reassured is it! Agree with GG call GP and get to epu if you can. If its too early for a scan they should do a hcg test.

My norks have decided to be very full, and starting to hurt. Sorry TMI Xmas Blush nips are enlarged and much paler. Has your cervix only just gone high GG? mine was so low yest thats why i thought it was not good. seems higher today tho,,, bizarrely.

((((((mouse)))))) fx crossed, am sure will be fine xxx

LadyGoneGaga · 09/12/2010 17:17

Mouse stay calm. It doesn't necessarily mean the worst. I had this with MiniG at 5 weeks, it was fine. If it is brown that means it's old blood, most likely implantation bleeding that has been hanging around for a bit.

Call your midwife (get number from GP if necessary) and ask them to refer you to the EPU. They should be able to do scans and bloods. Do you still have symptoms?

In meantime put your feet up and call in sick tomorrow, will help your peace of mind to rest.

Big hugs.

mousebacon · 09/12/2010 17:07

Brown mucus. Down toilet. On tissue. Bugger. Bugger. Bugger.

batteryturkey · 09/12/2010 16:01

wow - all these positives - lets hope its a trend! getdown I am not pg either - although I hope to rectify that this weekend :) Must dash am at work ad need to leave early to get the cat to the vet again - more expense. xx

LadyGoneGaga · 09/12/2010 15:45

I had Nuchal scan last time, Nix so prob will again. Have to do it privately here though which is a pain. I'm not especially worried - it's just mad that the risk has doubled in what seems like a not very long time! When I had my nuchal last time they put my risk down to the same as a 16 year olds so there you go but every baby is different!

So far, so good today Terrys. The frequent weeing symptom has kicked in. Feel more manageably sick now my cold has eased up, could still snooze under my desk though and boobs are still up a couple of cup sizes. No sign of any bleeding and my cervix had gone too high to reach apart from the very tips of fingers and what is their feels really, really hard. So that's good, isn't it? Grin Scan is week on Monday, still ages away.

How are you feeling? Sunk in yet? Have you told DH yet? Is he excited?

TerrysNo2 · 09/12/2010 15:31

Hello all!

I didn't have AF for 30 months - do I win?!?! Grin

I have had 4 and now hopefully no more for another 30 months!! Grin

LadyG all going well today?

Spilt you fertile woman - I hope the docs get a handle on your treatment / PG soon.

MrsA and GetDown - we will not leave you!! Smile

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 09/12/2010 14:53

WOW! getdown thats a long time. I didnt have a period for 2 years including pg time, I then conceived 4 months after stopping BF which i did until DS was nearly 2.

spilt still in shock! but a fab shock! What can they do you know? Can they give you a shot that will protect the bean? If they can protect it against HIV surely there must be something they can do with Toxo especially given the risk. Oh i do hope so :)

lady in response to your Downs question, Why dont you think about having a nuchal scan at 12 weeks? some hosps offer that as standard locally to me, others you have to pay for £180 i think. At least then you knwo and you dont have to wait til your 20 week bloods. Also supposed to be more accurate datewise than a dating scan.
Ps i knwo friends who are 38 and have had healthy beans so dont fret too muchXmas Smile

GetDownYouWillFall · 09/12/2010 14:13

Lady my AF took 18 months to come back after DD! And I wasn't even b/feeding!

Thinking of you as you reach the 7 week mark.

I'm hoping some of your luck rubs off on me this month ladies! So is it just me and MrsA that actually aren't pregnant now??!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 09/12/2010 12:57

GG thinking of you lovely, and sending sticky bean thoughts right your way x

spilttheteaagain · 09/12/2010 11:26

Lady a scary day for you. Very much hoping it is boring and uneventful.

I've seen the GP and booked to see the MW. They are phoning the lab to check what blood tests need to be ordered and the MW will do all bloods straightaway rather than waiting until 12 weeks as is normal here. And they will book me for an early scan shortly at 6-7 weeks ish. Should be getting a call later today to confirm the blood test appointment.

She was a bit Hmm that I could know I was pregnant on CD24 (LMP 16th Nov) but I do have short cycles! Couldn't be arsed with explaining charting so just nodded and agreed I was quick on the uptake!

How's everyone?
