Hurrah neekos back. Life as a working mum is a bit busy isnt it? But what is "extinction"?
Hope H lets you get back on later...

Neeko · 18/01/2011 09:17

Hi all. Sorry I've not been on. have been lurking occasionally at work and on my kindle, but there never seems to be a moment to post these days. Sad

Barbie really hope your health worries get sorted. How's the sleep going? Things so much better here since we did extinction, but still rising at 5!

Vjay you're doing a sterling job of keeping this thread going. Wish i could chat to you more.

QA Go! GO! GO!!!

Monkey thinking of you this week. Hoping you'll soon have two lines on a test to allow you to focus on the future.

Blue and LBM The holidays sound fab and will be here before you know it. Bet you'll both be looking svelte and scrummymummylicious.

Cupcake happy new puter. Hope your boy is allowing you some 'me' time.

Aargh! H is wake. was hoping to write so much more but have to go. Love to all.

Vjay 'Tamee' sounds like you are going all 'yoof' on us innit Grin

VJay · 17/01/2011 16:06

'tame', not tamee!!!!!

VJay · 17/01/2011 16:05

Hiya lovelies Smile

blue the doctor couldn't really tell me much, but she did say that the paeds will beable to advice me better, we just have to avoid all nuts for now.

qa I like your nice and 'tamee name Grin. I will hunt down the Q&A session thanks Smile

Gotta go, I've got a whingy Ajay...

QuestionsAgain · 17/01/2011 12:40

Blue your catch up post put mine to shame Blush I need to write things down to have half a chance of catching properly. 24 weeks will go by so fast. Holidays are a great excuse for retail therapy.

Lol at come hither look, have perfected it this month Wink especially as I have actually ovulated later than expected, so need to keep it up a bit longer as I did get a very strong positive OPK last night. DH deserves a gold star for his efforts this last week, couple of more days and I will let him rest Grin

vjay blue's post reminded me that there was a great Q&A session On MN with a top allergy specialist sometime last year, might be worth a look before you go to see Ajay's consultant.

meant to ask yesterday how you are doing MLS? did you get any more info from your consultant? Keep thinking about you and hoping all is ok.

Hope everyone has had a good start to the week Smile

bluesatinsash · 17/01/2011 11:03

Morning all Smile

Another luker here, been keeping up to date but no time to do nice long post, work is getting busy again and my new gym routine doesn't allow for evening posts. It's hard to fit it all in!

Anyhoo, I'm having a cuppa at my desk so thought I'd use the time to post.

QA so its dust down the come hither look time again Smile. Here's a dumper truck full of babydust heading your way, try not to sneeze now Smile

LBM - why does your DH not like lanterns? did he have a bad experience in chinatown one night Grin? your campervan holiday in OZ sounds fantastic, I take my hat off to you for doing it with 3 children and one under one!! Babybelle sounds like she just goes with the flow which is no bad thing. Being the youngest of three I can relate Grin

4ever - had a Smile at Summer having 'mad professor hair' like your DDad. I love her spikey hair, its lush. My spending is on hold this month as I used my Christmas money to by a side table for the new room. It was half price in the Laura Ashley sale! Their sales are brilliant. Have already sneaked a peek at Mini Boden though and have ear marked a good few things for the boys.

cupcake - glad Jude is enjoying his finger food Smile. I remember when B started having pasta and it dissapeared off his tray, I assumed it was underneath and all squidged up, took him out not one piece anywhere, all in his tumm, clever boy Smile. He wolfed roast chicken and gravy last night, chopped small and picked up by those pudgy hands of his.

louey - been thinking about you and hoping you get to the bottom of what's wrong with your MIL. If its any comfort my MIL took ill on 1st Dec. She had the boys that day and by evening could not remember anything. Had to have brain scan etc. as we first feared stroke (she's only 63)but it turned out to be v. low blood sugars and she is on strict instructions to eat better (my FIL works in Aberdeen during the week so she tends to live on sarnies). Gave us all a big fright, poor DH was distraught as he couldnt get to her as it was the week of heavy snow. We phoned her neighbours and they kindly sat with her until the ambulance came.. Does your sister find out this week??

Vjay - did the doc give you any tips and advice on managing Ajay's nut reaction? My heart still feels in my mouth for you thinking about it. Read two chapters of Half-blood prince last night - I'm on a roll Smile

barbie - the vid clip of Dolly was just lovely Smile. i'm really worried about you though. My friend at work was diagnosed with Crohns two years ago. It is like most things you can have it mild or very severe, praying you are on the mild side of the spectrum if it is indeed Crohns.. hope you've got some rest now your Dh is back x

Iggy - I know we 'spoke' on your other thread so 'Hi' again and good luck with the solids and sleep x

curly - hope you are all on the mend! Is your water back on?? How's the pre-work organising going? Who will be looking after curlygirl?

monkey - I think going out for a meal is a lovely way to celebrate your Mum. It is her birthday, will always be and as 4ever says, should be remembered thus. Will be thinking about you this week and already sending you a huge hug for Wednesday. your wee stories of you and DS always make me Smile. He is a lucky boy having you! any more thoughts on holdiays? Agree with barbie Cyprus is lovely but can be v. hot. what about the Baleric islands? Ibiza gets a great rep. no seriously it does if you stay away from obvious places..

I'm already in count down mode to Majorca (24 weeks on Friday). Its given DH and me a good kick up the arse to get fit, get some new clothes and for me to colour co-ordinate the boys to within an inch of their lives Grin. I'm already thinking pastel pink polo shirts for dinners out. Just hope 'bum shuffler extraordinaire' Ben is walking by then as he is a tonne weight to carry these days.

Right, tea finished, back to work.

bigs waves to neeko, MLS, Sabs, Buddha, Moon, BQ and anyone else I've missed.

mermaid we miss you Sad

QuestionsAgain · 16/01/2011 21:06

Hi, a quick hello from me Smile

Hope you are all well and have had a good weekend.

Have occasionally lurked this week, but have been so busy, I am hoping to catch up properly with the thread this week as have a bit of a quieter week ahead, but then another busy weekend. Will attempt a catch up from memory...!

Have stuck with my original name for now, thanks for the suggestions. Vjay was quite tempted by the porn one Grin

I am POAS, but only for ovulation at the mo after a BFN last month. Think I am actually about to ovulate, (bit later this month) got lighter positive OPK earlier and going to try again again soon to see if its any darker. Confused

barbie saw that you have not been well, hope you get some answers and start to feel better soon, same goes for Louey's MIL

LBM your trip sounds amazing, Very Envy

cupcake great that your DS is enjoying finger food and a relief for you that he is no longer gagging on it

Monkey Hope you and your Ds enjoyed your 'research trip' Did you give each place marks out of ten?! Yay to holiday planning Smile Glad that you got through this week ok and like 4ever found a special way to mark the day. Hugs to you for next week too.

Sorry for no more personals, but really have to go, literally Grin

littlebellsmum · 16/01/2011 20:03

Does anyone want a box of 10 chinese lanterns - I bought them to use them for anniversaires but DH is very against tham and I've just found the box in the garage - happy to post them if anyone would like them?

And yes, guess what I've been doing today? Tidying the garage!!
Hope you've all had more fun than me!

cupcakefairy · 16/01/2011 18:26

Hi ladies,
Sorry to have been a bit awol! The good news is we have just ordered a new laptop which means I'll hopefully be on here more often, yippeee! (Our current laptop is practically an antique and so slow I'm always put off turning it on!)

Loving that there are lots of other book fans and hooray that you're a Kate Morton fan too monkey :) she's fab. Sounds absolutely lovely that you're starting a new tradition of going out on your mum's birthday too; that's so special.

BQ I'm so sorry I missed your scare :( but thank goodness everything is ok! I can't wait til your lo is born; it's been such a long journey.

louey boooo to ms returning :( hope you're feeling ok now.

Hi neeko lurking :) sorry you're so busy but we're always here whenever you have a spare minute.

Yay for iggy posting :) hello over there in sleep deprived land! It's still very hit and miss here too but we're currently in an ok phase.

lbm I'm very Envy of your trip to Oz! We have family out there too and I'd love to make the trip someday.

barbie eek to maybe having crohns Confused really hope it's not, but I suppose answers are alwaysgood to stop you from being in pain!

clevervjay...did I tell you my bro is training to be a maths teacher at the mo? Very noble profession Wink and I totally get confused by 6, 7 and 8 times table too Blush

questions has the moment come to poas??

Things are good here...ds has suddenly in the last week got really good with finger foods (he was gagging loads before so I hated it) but now he chews everything nicely and swallows it, so cute. So we have stocked up on rice cakes and breadsticks Grin he is getting better and better at crawling and is just hilarious rolling over and over and shuffling around :)

Sorry I've missed like a million people but need to go put the little man to bed...love to all! x

littlebellsmum · 15/01/2011 20:25

Further update on the littlebells holiday plans - we have been to Oz lots of times before as we have family and friends in melbourne and like you, monkey, I lived out there for a year. Everytime we go we try to do something that I haven't done but it's getting a bit more difficult. Last time we went dd1 was 8 months and we went to Perth, then flew to broome and got a camper van to drive to Darwin, which was fab.
This time, we are flying in and out of Melbourne and driving up to Sydney via the coast road and then back inland to see DH's aunt. Really looking forward to it.
barbie I don't know where my friends live as they are still in the process of moving out! The husband is in Dubai and the rest of the family move out on Feb 12th. When we stop with them on the way out, they will probably be in the serviced apartment and on the way back, they should have moved into their house!! Will let you know when I know more - might need to get some advice from you for them too.

Anyway got to go - have promised Dh a stir fry for tea so need to get frying!!

barbie1 · 15/01/2011 15:41

Hello Smile

Forgive my lack of postings but ive been really tired, Dolly is a handful and into everything, including eating my lipstick this morning, not before covering her face, hands and floor! Hmm Grin

Tiredness is one of the symptoms of crohns which im still hoping i havent got....

vjay i missed the nut's story...i thought you meant boy parts when i read this morning and thought oh 'poor boy' but in reality this is worse Shock i hope it is something that doesnt happen again and that he grows out of?

louey any news? thinking about you all day, your mil has had the same treatment as i had, the drips the paracetomal drip and like her my blood pressure dropped way, way down. I hope its something easily treated, there is lots of gastric flu in the uk, which while unpleasant is treatable and short term.

monkey im intrigued, how did my name come up while talking of agadir? Have i got pics on fb? Hmm If you want the truth then no, don't go...save your money. I love Morocco but agadir is nothing like it, its like what i imagine Benidorm to be like, full of old folk sitting with handkerchiefs on their head while on the beach ( i kid you not!)
Its too far from anything, so unless you are the kind of people (and something tells my you are not) who like to stay in the hotel then it wont be for you. Every time we went out we are hassled by young kids wanting to sell us hash and coke Shock

You are far better going to cyprus or somewhere like that where it's kid friendly yet small enough to get out and explore....or you could come here! Remember the offer is here for all of the weebles for free use of the villa in Aug...

Hope you find somewhere suitable soon

lbm boo! Fancy not making time to see moi! Only kidding, i know how fast 24 hours will go in this city...where do your friends live? Ifs its just around the corner i might pop past just to be nosy! Grin oh and i love Oz too, dh and i did a bit of it a few years back and it was fab! I didnt realize koala's were so heavy and they smell real bad too!

waves to all my fellow weebles, im sorry i cant write more but im just so so shattered!

Dh is back tomorrow, i think ill hand Dolly over and go right to bed Grin

OP posts:
VJay · 15/01/2011 15:25

lbm your holiday sounds amazing, a real adventure Smile

louey I hope they find out what is wrong with your MIL soon, and it's nothing too bad. Fingers crossed for you all xx

iggy lovely to 'see' you Smile

monkey It was very scary when Ajay had his nut reaction, and going to the docs yesterday brought it all back, we have to be sooooooo careful now. I don't if he'll grow out of it but when we see the paeds at the hospital we'll know more then.

Hope everyone is ok and having a fab weekend xxx

monkeybumsmum · 15/01/2011 09:35

Oh louey that is worrying Sad I hope you find out what's wrong soon, and that it's easily fixable.

Hi Iggy Smile Lovely to hear that you're spending lots of time with your dd, there's no better reason to be MIA! Hope you manage to catch up on the sleep soon x

4ever it is difficult isn't it, but I suppose we have to concentrate on the fact that their birthdays are to be celebrated. It was a real mixture of emotions on Wednesday.

VJay Thanks for the hug Smile I suddenly realised that I've never 'spoken' to you about AJay's nut allergy Blush I remember reading about it, and not having chance to post, but it sounded so scary when you found out about it. You must have been terrified Sad Is it the kind of allergy he'll grow out of do they think? A lady I work with has a 14 yr old son who was very allergic to nuts, amongst other things. He's recently been tested again, and I think it's just one type of nut he has an allergy to now, although apparently it's taken a bit of persuading to get him to eat any nuts at all! I really hope AJay will grow out of his allergy too.

Curly How are you feeling now? Hope you're okay Smile

LBMjetsetter wow, your holiday sounds amazing! Where are you going in Oz? I spent over a year there when I was travelling (much to the annoyance of the immigration people who hauled me in when I left Blush). It was wonderful! I hope all the flood waters have drained away by then, were you planning on going up to Queensland? Oooh, you are so lucky, I would love to go back there! Are you going to Sydney? What a fab thing to do, and it's great that you're stopping for 24 hours each way (even if you won't be able to see Barbie Sad). Are you going to go to Ayers Rock too? DH and I spent 2 months in a van (before he had a driving licence Grin) so I really have driven an AWFUL lot over there, if you want any tips let me know Smile

Barbie Have just been doing some research on a possible holiday for next year, and your name came up! We were thinking of going to Agadir - would you recommend it? We've been to Marrakech and loved it, so was hoping it'd be the same sort of thing, but just on the coast.
Still haven't been able to view the vid of D, and dh has told me this morning that I won't be able to as my computer is now too old and doesn't support the software Shock Its only 4 years old!!!
Hope you're not missing dh too much, is he back tomorrow?

Right, off to go and get dressed now. DS and I are off out to research birthday party venues (playbarn things) this afternoon, so he's very excited! I feel a bit sick about it, as we have to invite about 25 kids, and it's going to cost a fortune Envy (that's a queasy face btw)
Have a lovely Saturday all xxx

littlebellsmum · 14/01/2011 22:27

Hi louey hope you get some answers soon. You must all be so worried.

Barbie I love the video of dolly walking and we are coming to Dubai in April! 2 visits of 24 hours each and am staying with friends so I don't think I can sneak away for a sneaky meet, much as I would love to. Its on the way to and from Australia - we booked our campervan last night for when we are in Oz, 16 days in a campervan and I can't wait!

loueytb3 · 14/01/2011 20:15

V quick update from me - DH is just picking up take-away curry for our tea

They still haven't found what's wrong with MIL. She is feeling better but we think that's probably because she's been on a drip/painkillers etc. No ulcers, no gallstones. Her blood pressure has dropped this afternoon which is often a result of internal bleeding (not sure that FIL is aware of this). More tests tomorrow. Am worried its something more sinister Sad.

Waves to iggy and 4ever

iggypiggy · 14/01/2011 14:31

Hi all, just dropping in to say hi, and apologise for my absence. A gorgeous small girl is taking up all my time!

Hope you are all well, much (sleep deprived) love xxx

littlebellsmum · 14/01/2011 13:18

Thanks but you haven't met my 7 year old! A fish and zhu zhu hamster just won't cut the mustard!
She is " looking after" her friends hamster at the moment which we might be inheriting as they are emigrating. But yesterday I had to go and check that it was still alive as we hadn't fed it in a while. I did find food in the bowl, so think that she might have done something!! Smile and yes, louey I'm pleased to have made you smile!!

4everhopeful · 14/01/2011 12:48

BTW LBM agree with Louey a Zhu Zhu hamster is a great compromise! Grin

4everhopeful · 14/01/2011 12:46

Louey your poor MIL, what a worry for your FIL.. Hope its easily treatable and she recovers quickly!

Vjay I know its not funny but I smiled to myself when I read that your going to the Dr about Ajays nuts! Grin

Poor Curly vomiting bug sounds horrible.. do you have water again? My bathroom sink pipe disconnected yesterday and flooded my kitchen! Shock All sorted now thanks to FIL! I sympathise!

Monkey a meal is a nice way too mark a sad day.. We do that for my dad. It is hard but you must celebrate their birthdays like they would want too still I think.. The 1st year anniversary is definateloy the hardest though...

VJay · 14/01/2011 12:04

X-posts with louey,

VJay · 14/01/2011 12:01

Hiya,

monkey that thread was good, kept me entertained last night Smile. It's a lovely idea for you and dh to go out every January 12th, it will be easier next year and you will probably be able to talk about her more about all the lovely stuff Smile. Here's a hug for this coming week {{{monkey}}}

louey how's your MIL doing?

bq how are you keeping?

mrskate have been thinking of you and wondering how you're getting on.

Have been to sing and sign this morning, it was very good and I think Ajay enjoyed it. Have also been to the docs about Ajays nuts and have got another epipen, now just waiting to see paeds.

Laters xx

loueytb3 · 14/01/2011 11:58

Update from me - MIL is having an endoscopy today to see what is going on. Hopefully its something they can easily treat.

monkey the meal sounds like a lovely idea to remember your mum. You will get through next week and we are all here to hold your hand {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}

LBM your post did make me laugh (sorry!). Can you persuade DD1 that a zhu zhu hamster is a good alternative pet that's unlikely to die, that's what my sister has done with my nieces. Seems to have worked Grin

curly do you have water??

As we are not going to Cornwall, I managed to go swimming this morning in my new maternity swimming costume that makes me look like a whale Bloody hard after 3ish months with no exercise but I am really glad I went. Have to do something to counteract all the crap I'm eating Grin

monkeybumsmum · 13/01/2011 21:25

Louey Your poor MIL, I really hope she's okay. Are they doing some tests now or tomorrow?

LBM A fish is a pet. Will that do? Grin

Curly Sad that you sound like you're having a tough week, hope you're all better soon, and that the water gets mended!

Thanks for all the messages yesterday, and Neeko thanks again for your lovely text Smile I know I keep saying it but you really are all so wonderful!
Yesterday was a very odd day, knowing that for the last 30something years of my life we have celebrated my mums birthday, and now all of a sudden it's such a sad day. I felt I wanted to do something, so dh and I went out for a nice meal and made a silent toast to my mum. We have made a pact to go out every Jan 12th which is nice. Next week will be harder though I think, passing the 1 year mark. Goodness knows what we'll do then Sad

Anyway, was trying to be quick as have been up since half five and am shattered... Barbie Glad to have you back, you have been missed Smile Would love to watch that vid of D, but dh has been messing with computer and it know won't play videos on FB Angry Don't know what he's done.
VJay Saw you on GOML's POAS thread, brill wasn't it, apart from the result that is. Wish I was 32 again and had a bit more time ahead of me!!!

Right, must prise myself away, will be back tomorrow probs... Night all x
