Thanks LJBM - yep was 12 wk scan although I'm nearly 13 weeks now (always nice to be a bit further on than you thought). Can't stop smiling Xmas Smile

LittleJingleBellsMum · 21/12/2010 15:07

Fantastic news, Louey - I'd missed your mention of scan! Assume that this is the regular 12 week one and that you have managed to pass that milestone?

And the child minder doesn't put you to shame- thats what you pay her for. You on the other hand have to organize a house, work etc. She gets to do the fun things at work like making reindeer pictures!!

Congratulations - sure this news is making you feel a bit better!!

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 21/12/2010 12:46

It looks as though we are actually going to have a baby!!!! All is fine, measuring a bit ahead and EDD now 29th June. Little bugger took a while to co-operate though. Am on the way into work to tell my boss. Am very very happy Xmas Grin

LittleJingleBellsMum · 21/12/2010 11:34

hi louey gald you are feeling better and we are going to Oz before BabyJ is mobile and couldn't go before as the kids had to be able to watch TV/ play games for 24hrs solid!!

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 21/12/2010 10:19

Morning. Am starting to finally feel a bit better, touch wood its not another blip...

DH still poorly and has now been signed off work until Christmas. Drs have prescribed antibiotics.

blueisonherxmashols wooohooo!!! Hope Bens party stuff all arrives in time. Want to see pics of the cake - it sounds wonderful. Can imagine Ben pointing to his cake Xmas Smile Love your 1980s xmas list - mine would have been very similar. Really haven't listened to much this year yet - December has passed in a coughing blur.

IHQ I wanted Stella to win - thought they were a bit mean about her earlier in the series because she was a bit corporate. Really thought Sur Alan would choose Chris though so was pleasantly surprised at the end. It was a very close one. Glad operation knocked up is going to plan Xmas Grin

vjay Tis understandable - it was a big shock and I know it makes you rethink things. When will you get to see a consultant?? LJBM has a very good idea about the breadmaker - I had one for xmas last year and it is fab. Very glad you got your weekend away in the end despite the weather

LJBM your DS is into Elvis??? Aren't kids funny. Did you manage to book your flights - I don't envy you flying all that way with 3 kids. I do however love Australia so I am very Envy about the fact you are going. We've talked about taking the kids when they are old enough to bribe with things to keep them quiet on the plane

4ever fab fab pics of S - thank you for sending them (and the email). How did your weekend's plans go?

buddha Poor E - but try not to worry too mch - glue ear is really common. I agree with LJBM its good that he's been referred. My DS1 had it. I think your GP is talking pants as it is usually caused by ear infections and then the fluid not draining away and it becomes sticky (hence glue ear). DS1 was diagnosed when he was 20 months but in hindsight we think he had had it for several months before that. His hearing was quite severely affected at the time. However, ENT consultant didn't want to do anything as it clears up in the majority of cases by the time they are 2 as the tubes in the ears just get bigger by then. That is exactly what happened with him. I have a friend whose daughter has just had grommets put in (which are little tubes to clear the ears) but she has had it a lot longer and is over 2 now. It tends to be worse in winter as you get more colds/bugs then. Am really sorry work messed up the bonus. Bloody awful of them. The weird thing is that you really don't care so much about presents for yourself when you have DCs cos its much more fun watching them open things.

cupcake are you still snowed in??? Yay to a moving Jude - its lots of fun when they back themselves into something and can't work out how to get out Xmas Smile

monkey - hope you and your DS get better soon x

Hope all the other Emmsys are ok out there.

Scan is late morning - am strangely not nervous (yet) but maybe because I have just been dealing with not coughing myself sick half the time. Am going to work afterwards but will update as soon as I can.

Am waiting for maternity clothes to be delivered - have literally no trousers for work and need to get changed in about 30 minutes. Eek. Oh and DTs are ok - coughs but not much else. Thank god childminder is back working this week. They came home yesterday having made reindeer pictures. She puts me to shame....

LittleJingleBellsMum · 20/12/2010 21:46

Evening all - there seems to be a lull in the Christmas madness tonight and so, obviously I've missed something and the rest of the week will be madness!

So, lets try some posting!

Firstly, 4ever so pleased that you had good news about your dddddh. Also thanks for sending S's photos's they are so cute and where did she get that dress from, it's just lovely.

vjay Xmas Shock about Ajays nut allergy. How scary , not to mention a real pain in the butt. One of my friends daughters has a nut allergy and pack reading becomes an obsession. It really annoys me as some companies are either too lazy to label properly or too busy covering their corporate behinds to help. Supermarket bakeries will be a thing of the past in your house... You might want to get a breadmaker if you want fresh bread - if you make it yourself, you can garuntee whats in it.
And congrats on the distinction - I struggle to even spell it!

blue and IHQFS loving the idea of a play list - in `1986, mine would have been much like yours, blue. Think you need to add Fairytale of new york and possibly driving home for Christmas to your list now, though.
I too have the Xmas CD's out and they are on when ever I control the music. Makes a nice change from DS's Elvis obsession!!

Blue love the plans for B's birthday - what a lucky little boy and so cute. Think your Xmas might be a bit less stress than last?

barbie hope you have stopped shivering. What a time to chose to come home but bet it is great showing off your lovely girl

cupcake Xmas Shock at Jude crawling! BabyBelle has just discovered rolling and loves sitting up - I don't want her moving for some time though!!

budha Shame that E has failed his hearing test but good that he's been refered. With DD!, she failed it three times, never got refered and we only discovered she was deaf in one ear when she was 5, we did have an idea something was wrong though once she started listening on the phone. With DS, he also failed it twice but we knew there was nothing wrong with his hearing , so didn't worry. Both had loads of ear infections - DS had a nasty one that went on for months and we needed to be refered as the GP just couldn't manage it. When we saw the consultant, he diagnosed glue ear and an infection, so they can certainly happen at the same time. Both cleared up and he has perfect hearing.

louey hope you are feeling better soon - there is nothing worse than being pregnant and poorly as there are so few things you can take, even hot toddys are limited!

StNeekolasMissinginACtion Hope work hasn't been too horrrid. M being ill brings back memories of my first week back with DS and DH ill, followed by BabyBelles pnuemonia

And that is as much updating as I can do for one night - hoping to try and book flights to Oz for next year tonight...

blueshinyxmasbauble · 20/12/2010 20:24

oooh QfS - a top five Christmas playlist you say?! A girl after my own heart Xmas Smile

  1. A Spaceman Came Travelling (Chris D B)
  2. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas - (Judy Garland from 'Meet me in St Louis')
  3. I believe in Father Christmas - Greg Lake
  4. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
  5. Winter Wonderland - Dean Martin

If you'd asked me in ooh 1986 it would have been

  1. Last Christmas - Wham!
  2. Last Christmas - Wham!
  3. The Power of Love - Frankie
  4. Do the know its Xmas - Band Aid
  5. Last Christmas - Wham!

QfS - great to hear you got off to a flying start at the weekend Xmas Smile I've given my friend a creative brief (pretentious - moi?). white square cake, icing ribbon effect to create four quadrants, name, age, balloons and streamers all white and pale blue. Her cakes are amazing.

Vjay - I'm sure you have done this already but you can probably google about peanuts and foods to avoid that might not seem obvious.. Glad you made it down and back Xmas Smile

I'm now off work and on holiday until Friday 7th January - yehaaaa!

IHaveQuestionsForSanta · 20/12/2010 18:48

Loved the apprentice final last night, agree with cupcakes that Margaret is fab. Shame she left. Though i wasn't keen on Stella, I think she was a worthy winner.

cupcake great that j is on the move, all the best babies go backwards first Wink DS spent a couple of weeks going backwards before working out how to go the right way Grin

Buddha Nightmare that your work have messed uo your money, what a time to be keeping you waiting Shock Money just seems to disappear at this time of year. I am surprised your GP said that children with glue ear don't get ear infections, as I thought it made them more likely to get ear infections Confused The ENT will hopefully be able to give you more info, usually your gut instinct will tell you if there is a problem with hearing. either way it's good that they have caught it early.

blue Hope your things arrive in time for B's big bday bash. I would be starting to get a little worried by now too. What sort of cake are you having? I smiled at B's pointing, it's so lovely when they start working hard to make themselves understood.

vjay It is completely understandable to still be shocked by what has happened and to keep replaying it in your head, especially as you are still having to get used to thinking about every thing that Ajay eats and what it means for the future. You are right, it is early days, things will get easier and it will all become second nature. Hope Ajay starts to feel better soon and that you get some sleep.

Thank you to you all for your words of support. I am feeling much more certain about things now and yes, have been busy over the weekend and will have to keep up the momentum until at least Wednesday Grin

Have got my christmas playlist too. I love having christmas music on when i am wrapping presents, cooking and well, just whenever I can really Grin When I get time I will come and post my top 5 christmas songs, perhaps we can create an Emmsy's playlist Xmas Smile

VJayJingles · 20/12/2010 12:29

Hi everyone Xmas Smile

IHQFS it is nerve racking, the first 12 weeks, but what I did was to think well there's nothing I can do it's out of my hands, I will deal with things as they happen, I still did a lot of wobbling though. Like blue says, that's what we're here for.

Yes blue we did make it down , and back, ok. It was a lovely weekend Xmas Smile. I gave you my usual wave Xmas Grin.
I forgot to say, I've used party pieces before, it was for Cjays 5th birthday, we had a pirate theme Xmas Smile. I hope you get it all today. Can't believe wee B is going to be one Xmas Shock
Thanks for all the congrats on my results Xmas Smile

Ajay has not been himself since Thursday, bless him, I think it's a mixture of teething, a cold and what happened. I also thought I was ok with it all, but I've not been sleeping well, it all pops into my head, then future scenarios start whirling through my tired brain. So I will take my own advice that I've just given to IHQFS, that I will deal with 'things' as they happen. Plus it is early days.

Right I've just spent AGES doing the online shop as I was reading all the lables Xmas Smile, so off to make a cuppa xx

blueshinyxmasbauble · 20/12/2010 11:42

Morning everyone Xmas Smile, how are we all coping the with snow Xmas Confused? It's actually OK up here in central Scotland, think we had the worst dump two weeks ago but England and Northern Ireland have been hit big time this weekend... I love snow as much as the next person but when it starts to effect travel, deliveries, food supplies for Christmas, just wish it would, like, melt.

Buddha, hope you get some answer for E's ears. Loved your b'day photos on FB, and yes I agree your DH looked like he had the best fun of all in that ball pit Xmas Grin

Louey - my word you have been through the mill Xmas Shock, you poor thing Sad. Really hope you're perking up after getting a rest (Xmas Hmm) over the weekend. Lovely to read you were able to hear the hb, the most reassuring sound in the world! I was given a stethoscope at work last week (don't ask!) and had it out at the weekend listening to the boys heartbeats Xmas Smile. Big hand hold for your scan tomorrow x

4ever - re: your DH's bloods. I just felt it would be OK Xmas Smile. LOVED your photos of S, especially the second arty one, of her looking down.

Vjay - did you make it down my way?? It snowed heavily yesterday but only for an hour. hope you've all recovered from the peanut incident, its a lesson to us all re: nuts... Had to Xmas Smile at Ajay shutting himself in the cupboard. Ben's new 'thing' is pointing, at everything. points to fridge = i want a yoghurt. Points to me = that's my Mummy. Points to bookshelf = I want my books down NOW Xmas Grin

QfS - sooo, have you had a, ahem, busy weekend?? I feel for you re: your trepidation, the longing for a BFP is quickly followed by the stomach churning anxiety when it does happen.. The first 12 weeks are just the longest ever but come on here and we will keep you company when it does happen Xmas Smile

Barbie - is that you in there under all those layers Xmas Grin?? hope you're enjoying your swanky apartment and are managing some quiet family time.

cupcake - glad the clothes are going to a good home Xmas Smile. I see Kara won Strictly! I have a Xmas playlist too, made it last year to accompany my labour! 'A Spaceman Came Travelling' is my favourite one from last year, the line "a mother and child were lying there on the bed and he had the face of an angel" has me blubbing every time Xmas Blush

StNeeko - hope your first week back went Ok x

Had to phone Party Pieces this morning as still no delivery of Ben's b'day banners etc. I've been reassured they are in the Edinburgh depot and will be delivered today, bloody better be or I will be driving there myself. My friend is making his cake, picking it up on Wed. night Xmas Smile

Big waves to everyone lurking x

BuddhaBellyBaubles · 18/12/2010 18:02

I've been lurking lovely ladies and tried to post about 5 times, but just don't seem to actually finish! Xmas Smile
Louey Sounds like your little bean is going to give you a rollercoaster ride Smile little monkey I'm so glad you found the hb and can relax a little Hmm
VJay Shock How scary must your peanut butter experience have been?? So thankful you found out this way and not after poor little AJay had actually eaten nuts, give him an extra hug from us SmileHow's Cjay after the dental work? Oh and of course congratulations on your distinction - woo hoo!!
4ever Thank goodness all is well with Mr 4ever
Barbie Hope you had a good trip over, hope to hear from you soon
Mermaid missing you x
Blue Looking fabulous on FB!
QA I have dusted off my pom poms too Smile

Well we have got the tree up but cheated slightly and put his wooden toy box in front of it so he can't get to it! Xmas Grin Still seem to have so much to do, unfortunately we didn't do our Christmas thrift club this year so relied on my bonus which got messed up by work Xmas Sad so no present money til the end of the month Xmas Hmm not much good to anyone! So tight tight budget this month, thankfully we bought E's a few months ago so at least he's sorted Xmas Smile
E failed his 2nd hearing test and has been referred to an ENT consultant, they seem to think he may have glue ear but not sure as he's had 3 ear infections and gp says glue ear doesn't get infected?? So we'll wait and see what happens after the referral. Not especially worried about his hearing, I know when he's ignorning me! Xmas Grin
I'll be back soon x

AndACupcakeInAPearTree · 18/12/2010 17:57

Hello all!
We are completely covered here in Cardiff...no chance of cars getting off driveways...just masses of the stuff, more than I ever remember seeing. Gorgeous views and we took ds out in it earlier for piccies- so cute all wrapped up in scarf, hat and snowsuit Xmas Grin

Sorry for being a bit absent. I do read every day on my phone but don't like to post one-liners from it so here I am for a proper catch up!

blue you're an absolute star sending that stuff thanks so much :) Jude is literally just into his 6-9 month stuff now. Can't believe some of the clothes we were given when he was born that were 3 times the size of him, now fit him Xmas Shock
I'm getting one of those M&S dressing gowns for Christmas too! Xmas Grin I'm always borrowing dh's when I get up for night feeds so will come in handy!
Also, you look AMAZING in that pic!

Vjay Xmas Shock to your ordeal with Ajay, can't believe it. Thank goodness Pjay was with you I'm sure that eased the stress a teensy bit. My brother has an epipen (for bee/wasp stings) and first had the reaction at about 11 years old- we were away from home & it was flipping scary my parents having to rush to hospital with him Xmas Confused As louey said though, a lot of kids grow out of these allergies and the ds of a friend had the same reaction to nuts but has now grown out of it at 3 years old. Will they do more extensive testing on Ajay over the next couple of years?
So glad you had a good night out though last week, sounds fab :) and re book group- you should start one! Ours is just made up of our book-loving friends. We don't all read the same book- we read whatever we like then review them and lend them to each other. It's fab, we never have to buy books Xmas Grin
(And yay for Strictly final tonight!! I'm happy for Matt or Kara to win..love them!)

Oh my...can tell this post is going to be epic Xmas Hmm apologies!

barbie looks like you're getting your white christmas! Hope you're enjoying yourselves so far. Wow to D drinking that whole bottle! Jude had his first ever bottle of formula the other day and guzzled 7oz. Felt weird! Hoping to stop bfing at 9 months in time for my sister's wedding.

Neeko love the name! Well done you on getting through the first couple of days back at work. So sorry to hear M was ill too- what an unneeded (not a word) extra stress :( hope you're feeling ok.

4ever lol at Summer pulling Santa's beard Xmas Grin most babies hate beards so she's doing well! Xmas Shock at dh's health worries but thank goodness it turned out ok in time for Christmas. That's an advert for giving blood right there though- things could be picked up so much earlier.
Massive hugs to you.

BQ hope you've been baking up lots of Christmas treats Xmas Wink 14 weeks, completely amazing. Can't believe you've resisted telling people so far! Hope you really enjoy doing that over Christmas :) My bf had sickness until about week 17, really hope yours clears up soon.

QFS Yes, have bought all the BILs pressies now Xmas Grin dh actually came up with some ideas! Did you enjoy the Apprentice interviews? Margaret is ace Xmas Grin think I want Chris to win.
Sorry you're having wobbles re ttc...it's only natural. I was really freaked out for most of my pregnancy... when we've wanted something so much I guess there will always be doubts and questions about whether it's then the right thing. Hugs to you too!

monkey hello as you dash through! Hope you've caught up on sleep.

MLS great to hear some of the burden is off you with dh doing bedtime. Early on with ds, dh took over on his first waking and it was a huge pressure off me! Really hope the sleep keeps improving. Have you bought her much for Christmas? Bet your dd1 is so excited!

louey yeurch to everything you've been dealing with Xmas Confused hope you're starting to feel better. I had horrible wisdom tooth pain when about 6 weeks pg too...the dentist said I needed them out really after I'd had the baby as they cause me constant gum problems but I'm too much of a wuss to go back now Xmas Blush

As for us- Jude is really on the move now! Can't leave him alone for a second he is shuffling all over the place, mainly backwards which is really cute Xmas Grin

Right, I am off to play the Christmas playlist I spent yesterday making and eat more mince pies Xmas Grin

IHaveQuestionsForSanta · 18/12/2010 14:05

4ever That's great news Smile Smile So pleased that you can just get on with enjoying your special Christmas. enjoy the nativity and carol service. I went to the carol service last week, was so lovely and made me feel very christmassy!

Vjay thanks for having your pom poms at the ready! It was really strange yesterday had a bit of a wobble about ttc again and all the what if's it brings. I do tend to worry over think things a little times. Things will hopefully get easier for you as time goes by with ajay's allergies and choosing food. Are they going to refer you for testing to see if there are any other allergies? It might be worth looking up other common allergens that go alongside nuts and thinking about which food groups Ajay has already tasted so that you can cautious about any news ones if that makes sense?

louey How is Ds2 today? Hopefully it was just tiredness or fighting it off and he is ok. Hope you're starting to feel better too.

Hello to all you other quiet Emmsy's. Hope my ramblings are not putting you all off Grin

We are going out tonight, so I am going to let my hair down, eat, drink and be merry Xmas Smile

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 17/12/2010 19:06

I'm so so relieved for you both 4ever!!!! Now you can have a lovely weekend without worrying.

vjay stay safe. Its not nice outside down here and Scotland looks like a mess.

4everhopeful · 17/12/2010 18:33

Hello ladies! Thank god Dh results came back ok! Grin Still low, but trebled from the original levels, so they will monitor them, but its nothing really bad to worry about! PHEW! I felt like i did pre scans, sick to my stomach with worry, im just so relieved now! So now we can get on with enjoying the lead up to S 1st christmas! Xmas Grin We are going to a nativity play and carol service at church on sunday and ill be giving a big prayer of thanks!

Huge hugs to all of you, thanks for your support as ever! Have lovely weekends, hope your not snowed in! X x x x x

VJayJingles · 17/12/2010 16:42

4ever how is everything?

IHQFS my pompoms are a ready Xmas Grin

Ajay is ok, I've spent today getting hold of an Epipen and buying food for the weekend away (if the snow lets us). Not all food lables are as clear as I though they would be, this is going to be quite a learning curve, but we'll ge there.

Off now to check road and weather reports, if I don't get on again, have lovely weekends everyone Xmas Smile

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 17/12/2010 15:51

Hi IHQFS - starting early always a good idea Xmas Grin

Any news 4ever

barbie glad you got there ok x

Hope you are not all snowed in. We had an inch and now the roads are awful so we are not going to Cornwall after all Xmas Sad

DS2 appears to be coming down with bug. Currently asleep on the sofa despite monsters inc playing.

IHaveQuestionsForSanta · 17/12/2010 13:38

Vjay how is Ajay today? Hope you are ok too, the shock is often worse the next day after something like that.

louey sorry that you are actually feeling worse Sad will the Il's be any help this weekend if you do go? Can you let them take over the DT's while you recover and rest a bit?

Blue yep gearing up for ovulation, MN ovulation calculator shows ovulation from tomorrow through to Wednesday, though started a bit earlier, just for good measure Wink Grin

4ever How are you, any news? Smile x

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 16/12/2010 21:59

Big hugs for 4ever and vjay

4ever Sad I know you must be really worried but hopefully it is nothing and you will get the results back quickly to put you out of your misery.

vjay oh poor ajay and how scary for you. They do grow out of some allergies though so it might not be forever. I was really careful with my two as there are allergies in our family (although not nuts). And then I caught my niece feeding DS2 toast with peanut butter and it was too late by the time I got to him. He was fine but I watched him like a hawk. Big claps for you on your distinction you clever lady.

neeko how has the first week been?

QA white coats a ready Grin

Am getting worse if anything - went to Drs yesterday as woke up with an ear infection but she thinks its all viral. Ears are better today but have ridiculous cough (as does DS1). We are supposed to be going to cornwall tomorrow to stay with the ILs but keeping a careful watch on the weather. They don't yet know I am pg although it will be obvious as soon as I get through the door Xmas Smile

blueshinyxmasbauble · 16/12/2010 20:33

oh Vjay - you're heart must have been in your mouth and then some Sad Shock. So relieved everything is OK with Ajay and great adice from QfS re: reading up on allergy threads on here.. Sending you a big big hug and calming of brow.

Absolutely fantastically well done on getting distrinction, you brainy box and fantastic mother you Xmas Smile

4ever - another Shock Sad day for you too. I know you will worry until you know the results but as you say low bloo counts are common for a myriad of reasons, please hold on to that. Your DDH will be fine, I just know it. at S's sticker

Louey - sroic award of the week goes to you honey. pg, ill, looking after DT's and DH whilst trying to work - I salute you. REally hope you can get some rest over the weekend x

StNeeko - two down, one to go til the weekend. Been thinking about you this week, bet you've straightened the pencils out already Xmas Wink

QfA - are we in gearing up mode yet?

Will be back tomorrow for proper catch up x

IHaveQuestionsForSanta · 16/12/2010 18:31

Louey sounds like you have had your hands full the last week! Hope things settle down for you over the weekend and you can get some rest. Fantastic that you found the heartbeat, that must be such a relief. Smile

Vjay Firstly a big well done for getting a distinction, like 4ever i don't know how you manage it all either, but you are obviously doing something right Smile So sorry though you have had such a shock with Ajay, it is scary and will no doubt have left you reeling. The 'good' part of it is that you will be given the epipen and won't have to fight for it as many parents do, it will at least give you some reassurance. There is an allergy section on MN where there is some good advice if you need. So pleased that Ajay was ok, but what a shock for you all Sad

4ever I know you must be worried Sad You are going to have to try and not let your worries run away with you iyswim? There could be lots of reasons for the low count, it's good that you should find out more today, the last thing you need is it worrying you over Christmas. Let us know when you find out.

to all 3 of you, think you could all do with one today x

VJayJingles · 16/12/2010 14:05

4ever here's a big hug and hand hold from me, what a worry! Let us know how he gets on please.

Sorry but I need to offload too. I gave Ajay a teeny tiny taste of peanut butter this morning and he had an anaphylactic shock reation. It was so bloody scary. He didn't eat it just licked it and than about 5-10 minutes later we noticed his lip was swollen, then he started getting a rash around his eyes. I'm so glad dh was there, he just grabbed him and drove up to hospital. I got Cjay ready and followed them, by the time I got there he was really swollen and red in the face. They gave him some steroids and antihistamine, and about a couple of hours later he was allowed home.

Now I only gave him the smallest amount of peanut butter, even though no one I know in the family has this allergy, but I still wanted to be careful. I dread to think what would have happened if he'd actually eaten it. So PLEASE BE CAREFUL, I never in a million years thought this would happen to us.

We now have to see a paediatrician and he will get an epipen, and he has to avoid all nuts, obvously.

I really need to share this with you all as you just never know!

4everhopeful · 16/12/2010 13:07

Massive pat on the back and emoticon to you vjj for a distinction! Well done you! Mrs fabulous indeed, really dont know how you manage it all! Xmas Grin

Louey hope you feel better soon, i was 16wks last christmas and swore i actually had swine flu i felt so ill, dh too, but i didnt have dt so sympathise greatly..

Barbie hope you had a safe journey and enjoying time with your familys.. Dollys 1st christmas in the uk! Xmas Grin

Sorry for lack of more personals and also in advance for offloading, but im a bit freaked out and not telling anyone in RL as dont want to worry them, just need to let it out.. Confused Basically my lovely dh honourably gives blood, he went last fri and even got given a heartmelting 'my daddy gave blood today' sticker for S, however he got a call from the hospital on tues saying his white blood count and platelet levels were low, and they were writing to him to advise he see his gp... Confused
He went to the gp yesterday and has had a full blood count test, hopefully will get the results today.. Confused Im absolutely bricking it, dh is being quite optimistic and brave, im trying to be, but cant help being so scared of the worst, my bro had lymphoma and dh bf had leukemia so we are both fully aware of blood count issues, obviously google is just putting the fear of god into me too, not that many reasons why blood counts are low, just praying to god its something of nothing and irrelevent.. Clutching onto fact dh is on stop smoking meds for last 3wks and that might of affected the test? Confused
He really is being fine about it, but sure he must be secretly a bit worried, so im hiding how worried i am as dont want to make him worry! Obviously S means im just getting on with things, but my insides are a mess and all my excitement at christmas is now very hard to muster up, he is my absolute world and my life and i love him so incredibly much, he has got me through so much, i just pray all is ok..

So sorry for the ramble, just really needed to get it off my chest..

VJayJingles · 16/12/2010 07:39

Oh louey what a stress, but a relief to hear the heart beat on your doppler I bet Xmas Smile

barbie hope you got over ok and the journey was uneventful.

StNeekolas how did your first day back go, I did think of you yesterday Xmas Smile

Early bird here today, Cjay has his first dental work at the hospital, he's got to have gas to make him drowsy then they can work on his tooth, the poor love.

Hi IHQFS the sausages were lovely Xmas Grin
I still haven't written my christmas cards so you are doing better than me.

Right - update on me

As barbie said I have been ill with something between a heavy cold and flu. DH picked it up on the plane and then infected me. Felt dreadful from last Tues onwards and to top it all, got a call on Thursday morning from my childminder to say that she couldn't work because she had a suspected gallstone and was off to hospital. So we were both ill and having to look after DTs. We were supposed to be going away on Saturday night to stay at a posh hotel and eat nice food and we felt so awful we had to cancel. Am hopeful we will be able to rebook it at some point assuming they allow the insurance claim.

Then I started bleeding again (brown) on Friday night, but fortunately it seems to have stopped for the moment.

I was just starting to feel a bit better yesterday and then my wisdom tooth started hurting, which is just perfect timing. I've got a dentist appt on Thursday but I don't know what they will do as I'm pg.

The childminder is not working all this week so I have been attempting to work whilst looking after DTs and feeling generally rubbish. Their nursery finished today so I think I will have to take unpaid leave tomorrow as I have no holiday left. Poor boys have watched far too much tv in the past week.

On the plus side - I have carried on puking and tonight I got out the doppler and managed to find the heartbeat. So am feeling much happier Xmas Grin Scan is a week today but I won't find out the results of the bloods until after Christmas which is a bit annoying.
