Hi moon Happy new year to you too. Smile

neeko Sorry you have been having such trouble with H and her sleeping, hopefully it is settling back down now. I am impressed you managed to stay up late NYE especially with so little sleep recently. On the plus side, maybe it is H's excitement at her newfound standing skills that is keeping her up at night Grin Fingers crossed that this week is much better sleep wise.

LBM sounds like you have been through it too, sleepwise. Maybe the Emmsy's babies are all in it together and there is some plot to keep you all awake Hmm Grin Fingers crossed that things have improved for you too.

cupcake Ahh at losing your post, it is so frustrating. Hope you had a good time with your guests.

Curly Glad you had a special christmas. Just seen that you and Gracie have both got your DD's 1st birthdays coming up soon. Smile Have you got any plans? You have got a month to plan!

4ever What lovely pictures of your DD. She is gorgeous. Can't believe she is already pulling herself up, good job her and Barbie's adventurous DD aren't in the same room together, they would create havoc Grin I too, am missing my DH now he has gone back to work, it's always so awful after the holidays to go back to normal.

Vjay have you read 'The Help' yet? i really enjoyed it, worth a look to see if it's your kind of thing.

Blue Can't believe you are 40 this year, you look nothing like 40 at all Shock I seriously would have put you down as late 20's/early 30's. Great to have a 40th to plan though, are you having a party?

Blue and Vjay thanks for asking about the 2ww, yep I was at the end of it, had tried a few sneaky tests over the last couple of days Blush, BFN, and then AF started today, so no luck this month. Feel Sad , but practical side tells me it is early days, though I was very quick with DS and my last pregnancy, so I suppose sub consciously I was expecting the same. Confused Didn't help that DS chose today to ask if we were going to have another baby and could we have one by September? Shock He starts school in September, so has September in his mind at the moment. He said he wants to 'help change nappies, read to a baby and reach things for it' I had a very big frog in my throat answering him and just about managed to hold it together to tell him we hadn't decided what was going to happen this year and quickly changed the subject to talk about holidays. On the up side, i am going to tuck in to my Christmas bottle of Baileys tonight, guilt free!

Hope everyone is ok, it has been really quiet on here , I know this because even I am managing to keep up with the thread Grin

VJay · 04/01/2011 15:06

Aaaawww 4ever those pictures are lovely, Cjay is sat here with me and was looking at them too, he liked the one of S reading Grin

blue we can have a BIG 40th party on here for you Smile, we'll have cocktails and cheesecake Grin

qa good question from blue there, is it nearly the end of your 2ww?????

neeko I will be down-loading that book once I've finished the millenium ones, I'm always on the look out for a good read Smile

barbie I finished house rules just before Christmas, it was good Smile

Right Ajay has woken up, laters xxx

4everhopeful · 04/01/2011 14:59

Just added some pics of Summer with her most special christmas pressies, her Weebles and Mermaid! Grin Also one of big girl standing after pulling herself up on her walker!

4everhopeful · 04/01/2011 13:53

Happy New Year lovely ladies! Wishing you all health happiness and renewed hope for 2011! Glad to hear you all had good ones!

Writing this on my new laptop Grin, pressie from DH amongst other lovely things, Grin Summer and I were royally spoilt, house now resembles a toyshop! Her 1st Christmas was all a bit hectic, though great, but felt like we were hardly at home what with all the visits to family, so agree with curly quite nice to resume normality now! Felt sad at NYE to say goodbye to the best year of our lives, the one Summer arrived in! Grin DH back to work today so feel a bit bereft after all our time together!

Summer has been amazing, crawling everywhere, chatting non stop, including mum mum mum ,melt. Grin and also pulling herself up to standing on anything she can reach! Shock We had to drop her cot in her room, shes pulling up on the sofa,I swear she'll be climbing onto it soon,we have nicknamed her Edmunda Hillary! Grin We got cot 3 in our room Hmm as cant bear to put her in her room still and she totally out grew her crib! Was sad putting away that and her baby stuff, like her playmat, carrycot part of her pram (got the pushchair part on now), as well as various clothes and my 1st christmas stuff! She is getting so big, think we will have an early walker on our hands..!

Anyway lovelies, thats my update, she is stirring, will be back to catch up with you all properly asap, much easier now i have this laptop! Grin

CurlyAndSantaUpATreeKISSING · 03/01/2011 23:54

Happy new year everyone!!! Thanks neeko for your lovely text, I hope you get some better sleep tonight! And I hope that 2011 brings a bumper crop of bfps Grin.

How is everyone doing? Any updates from our small and big panters? I've so missed you all. Christmas was really special but I'm looking forward to a dose of normality now. My shiny white coat is dusted down and ready to go xxx

bluesatinsash · 03/01/2011 20:44

QfS - are you nearing the end of your 2ww????

bluesatinsash · 03/01/2011 20:43

Hi All,

Happy 2011 Smile. I'm 40 this year Shock aaargh

Like neeko - we managed to stay up til the bells, but man was I tired the next day!

Have had a lovely festive break (your days out sounded just wonderful LBM, hope babybelle sleeps better tonight). DH is back at work tomorrow, I'm back on Friday (nice wee one day week pour moi Smile).

Here's to a great year everyone x

cupcakefairy · 03/01/2011 17:11

Grr, just wrote a post then lost it cos connection got interrupted...can't rite it cos we have guests due but will try to get back on later.
Just to say hello and happy new year to all! x

VJay · 03/01/2011 11:23

Smile I'm here.

When does barbie get back?

LittleJingleBellsMum · 03/01/2011 10:01

Morning Neeko - babyBelle has deceided to copy Dolly and H and for the last 3 days is being a nightmare at night. Last night she was up from 1 to 5 and would not settle.
Just after Christmas she slept through for 2 nights and then the last 3 have been hideous. We also let her cry it out a couple of times last night but had to give in as I couldn't take lying there listening to her crying. She's also had rubbish sleep during the day recently, mainly due to us being busy, and so today, she is having her naps when she should, her meals on time and tonight she is going to sleep.
Good to hear that H managed to settle her self and I've seen from facebook that Buddhas boy is also responding to controlled crying.
Nice name changes by the way - think I'll change mine when I take the tree down!!

Neeko · 03/01/2011 06:25

Hi all and a Happy New Year to you all. I'm looking forward to the shiney new BFPs that we'll have on the thread this year and "meeting" our big panters' bundles of joy.

We had a very quiet New Year but managed to stay up until 12.20am which is quite miraculous for me. Sleep has been horrendous here for the past month or so because my girls have been continually ill. On the 30th H was up 9 times and M 5 and that was an improvement!
We decided to go cold turkey with H on the 31st and let her cry it out. She cried for 1hr 40 mins and then fell asleep. It was awful. On the 1st she cried on and off for 2 rs 20mins and last night she didn't cry at all! Smile I'm still feeding her at 7 and 11 but not at all during the day and if she's going to sleep from 11 until morning. I'll be happy. Thanks to Blue and MLS for the text support on Friday.

Louey That treatment sounds interesting. I really hope it works.

Vjay Hope Ajay enjoyed his1st Hogmanay party. That 'Sister' book was really good.

LBM What lovely pictures you create of your lovely family Smile

Blue Hope the boys are better. Things definitely improving here, thank goodness. Bring on the Gray's on Wed! I'm so excited!!!

IHQFS Glad you had a good time away. I've dug out my pom poms and my white coat to cheer you on to your BFP.

Moon This is your year.

Has anyone else noticed how quiet the thread is when Barbie's not here for Vjay to talk to? Smile

Best go. H is now crawling and in at everything. She even stood for a short while yesterday. I'm not ready!!! Grin

BlueMoon1981 · 01/01/2011 12:44

Happy New Year to you all, may 2011 bring us luck, health and happiness Smile

IHaveQuestionsForSanta · 01/01/2011 10:45

Happy New Year! Smile

We had agreat few days away with family and enjoyed our night out. It was lovely to spend some time with DH. The food was just gorgeous.

Very quiet New Years Eve, but for once was actually awake for midnight (just).

louey hope you are feeling more rested now. Shock at no presents for you.i hope your Dh has done some serious grovelling, that will teach him to not to leave present buying until the last moment. The therapy for Isaac sounds interesting, I hope it is successful for him Smile Thanks for you message too, I am feeling more positive. It is great to be healthy again and have a sense of purpose iyswim.

MLS You have had a lot to take in. I am sorry that you had such worrying news before Christmas. if you are questioning yourself over whether waiting is ok and just want some reassurance, you could always get the number of the consultants secretary (you can usually look at your local NHS trust website and get all their names and numbers. If you speak to the secretary, they will ask the consultant for you. I don't think they realise how many questions you still have when you come away from an appointment as it takes a while for everything to sink in.
Glad you had a good christmas, bet your new video recorder is getting some use, filming your lovely girls.

Vjay Glad you are loving your Kindle, hope you are finding plenty of time to actually use it.

Blue I don't remember projectile vomiting being on the list of the 12 days of Christmas Grin Though with the amount of people I know that have been ill over christmas it would be accurate if it was! Hope you are all healthy now.

BQ Hope you are feeling a bit brighter now as we head in to 2011. Smile

LBM Your christmas posts keep making me go awwwwwwwwwww! What a lovely way to spend the day and and New years Eve.

Off to do some baking, hope you all have a good day. Smile

VJay · 01/01/2011 10:26

Happy New Year Smile

We were out last night and Ajay is STILL asleep!!!! Grin, he woke for a bottle at 7 then went back to sleep, he's my son alright Grin

louey that is really interesting. Cjays hearing isn't as sensitive as that thankfully. When he started school and had to use the canteen at lunch he hated all the noise then and struggled, what we did was give him an ipod to listen too, and after a few weeks he gradually stopped using it and was, and is, able to use the canteen fully now Smile. Good luck with the treatment I hope it works Smile

blue big waves to you down there Grin

Right off to source some breakfast, and here's to a great and nut free 2011 Grin

LittleJingleBellsMum · 31/12/2010 19:28

evening all and a happy new years eve to you all.

We have been into London today and had a lovely time going to the national gallery, a lovely lunch and the disney store for the dc's to spend christmas money. Finished off with the carosel on the south bank and candy floss.

Now home and I did have ideas of gettig dressed up and trying to do a posh dinner, but we are now all in our pj's, babyBelle is asleep and the piza is in the oven. Just about to look through the years photo's with the dc's - sounds like a pretty good new years eve to me!

So, dear, lovely Emmsys friends, it's hard to believe that we are celebrating our second or third new year together! Hope you all have a lovely time, what ever you are doing and that the new year brings bfp's for all who want them, bouncing babies for our big panters, sleep for those with bundles of joy and happiness for all.

See you for a proper catch up in 2011

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 31/12/2010 17:09

Happy New Year to you all!!!

mls oh love, big hugs to you, that must have come as a shock. I agree with blue and vjay that the consultant would have started you on the drugs right away if he thought it was necessary. Hope you have had the flu jab cos you really ought if you haven't. If you have to give up bf'ing earlier than you wanted it, its not the end of the world. DD2 would prefer to have a healthy mummy I'm sure x

blue poor DS1 - hope it was a short-lived vom experience for you all. Having a similar night-in to you, not sure I'm going to last until midnight though!

BQ hope you are starting to feel a bit better!!

vjay we've known for some time he has had sensitive hearing - he responds to every little sound. So when you would filter out background noise, he doesn't and it makes him very distractable. Certain noises get him distressed (hand dryers for a while, tannoys etc). Usually its worst when he can't predict when they will start/stop. Anyway, I met a woman from the SN board on here who lives locally and has an older son with Aspergers. He had auditory integration therapy (AIT) at a place in London with dramatic results - he used to walk out of class several times a day because the noise got too much but after the therapy he stopped doing it. We took Isaac along for an assessment - they played sounds at different frequencies and monitored his reactions. No obvious change at low frequencies. Middle frequencies he started making his own noise which the therapist was to block/dilute the frequencies which were distressing him. High frequencies, he tried everything to get out of the room, including trying to wrench the fire extinguisher off the wall which is exactly what he's done in other situations. We realised that a lot of his behaviour can be put down to noise overload/sensitivity. The therapist said that the more clever kids like Isaac use different ways of coping with it. The less able kids put their hands over their ears. The aim of AIT is to re-train the ears to cope with the sensitive frequencies. Basically it consists of playing music for 30 mins, twice a day over 10 days. There is a machine which filters the music so the sensitive frequencies are brought in a little at a time. Today he had country and western in the morning and tears for fears in the afternoon. He likes music so its not been too difficult so far although he is getting more restless (day 5 today). I don't know if there is anyone offering this near to you, someone on the SN board might know? Its not cheap - £700 ish but hopefully it will be permanent. There are also other listening programmes but they are done over a longer period.

Right, must go, we are having a lovely dinner tonight (already made a white chocolate cheesecake - yum) and intending to get dressed up (if I can fit into it!). Need to do the boys tea and then shower and beautify myself.

bakingqueen · 31/12/2010 16:40

To all you lovely Emmsys ladies Happy new Year hope 2011 is a good year for us all thank you all for all the support you have given me this year I am thankful once again to have found you all and to let yo0u know how much you all mean to me.

Lots of love to you and all your families
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

blueshinyxmasbauble · 30/12/2010 21:30

Oh MLS, you sounde stunned... BUT agree it must be less acute if consultant happy to delay treatment so you can bf.. None of us know what is ahead of us and its just as well..

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas (have seen neeko's ring and its gorgeous), we did with a bit of lurgy thrown in (DS1 projectiled on Xmas Eve).

QfS - hope you had a lovely night out!

louey - great to hear your therapy is starting for Isaac. Hope your DH surprises you with a post-xmas gift BUT you have the greatest gift snuggled down in your tummy Smile.

Vjay - big waves to you up there xx

Think I might change my name back to welcome in the new year!

We're having a quiet one tomororw, have lots of M&S goodies, wine and each other, that and a good film should see us through to 2011 x

VJayJingles · 30/12/2010 14:37

Shock mls that is a lot to take in, you poor love. Like you say if your consultant wanted you to start the drugs immediatly he would have said so.

I hope you feel a little better and clearer about it all this today. A big {{{{{hug}}}}} for you xxx

louey I am loving my kindle thanks Smile.
What does this hearing treatment involve for Issac? Cjay has sensitive hearing, he hates it when I scrape the bottom of a pan, for example, it goes right through him and he shouts and covers his ears. It would be interesting to know, and how did you know he had sensitive hearing?

Hope everyone is ok xx

MummyLovesSleighRides · 29/12/2010 22:22

Good evening & a belated Merry Christmas to one and all. It sound like everyone had a lovely time - I can't believe it's over for another year already. We went to my parents & I don't know how we managed to pack all of the presents in the car but we managed. We seemed to have even more presents on the way back! I was spoiled & got a mini video recorder and an Silk Epil epilator. How on earth are you supposed to do your bikini-line with one of those things without screaming blue-murder?? Hmm

I had a bit of worrying news a couple of days before Christmas - my consultant has finally got to the bottom of my chest problems after I had a ct scan a week ago. He's told me I have chronic lung disease, something called bronchiecstasis has developed as a result of pneumonia & then repeated chest infection. It means that some of my airways have become permanently damaged & dilated & if it spreads I could lost the ability to breathe in & out. Because of this I've developed a nasty infection called avian intracellulare which is a tb-like infection. I need to have 2 years of 3 different types of strong drugs to treat it. I can't start taking the drugs until I've finished breast-feeding & I've said I'd like to breastfeed for a least 6 months which would mean starting the treatment in March. I'm seeing him again in 2 months so he can assess me & I may have to give up breastfeeding sooner than I hoped. There was such a lot of information to take in when he was telling me all this, I think I was a bit shell-shocked at the time but now it's starting to sink in. Surely if he thought I needed to start the treatment immediately he would have told me I needed to stop breastfeeding now? I'm trying to see his willingness to allow me to wait a couple of months as a positive sign.

Right I'm off to bed.

Night all.

OhLoueyTownofBethlehem · 29/12/2010 20:42

Hello Smile

IHQS you are sounding very happy and upbeat which is lovely after all the rubbish of the past year. Hope you and DH have a lovely night out - you deserve it.

globetrottingbarbie hope you are having fun (even if it appeared to involve going to a football match yesterday) and dolly is coping with all the changes in routine ok.

vjaykindle are you having fun with your new toy Grin. I am going to buy the millenium trilogy to read when I have a spare moment. Have some amazon vouchers to use up. Bless ajay with his weebles treehouse. We are also trying to eat up all the food. Done the turkey - now need to work on the chocolate pile...

StNeekolas your DH deserves a bit fat shiny gold star for that present. My house looks like a toy shop that has been vandalised too.

LJBM sounds like you had a wonderful xmas!! Did baby J sleep well for you?

4ever sounds like you are having a mad time of it!! How did S like her 1st xmas??

monkey I too am wishing for a much better year for you next year xxx

mermaid pop in if you can and let us know that you are ok. The greenhouse isn't the same without you.

curly we definitely need some more bfps. How was your 1st xmas with curlygirl?

blue fabby pic of your two under the tree

Big waves to everyone I've missed - hope you are all in turkey heaven (or should that be hell by now!)

We had a really tiring christmas - combination of over-excited children, recovering from the bug we both had and me being pg. Starting to feel a bit more human but we've not exactly been up to partying. More like going to bed at 10pm Confused. Was a bit Sad on Christmas day when I realised that there was absolutely nothing under the tree for me to open. DH had not bought me anything (mainly because he had been ill, but still...) and the other presents I had were still at the ILs which we hadn't been able to pick up because of the snow. Thank god the boys had a toy shop worth of stuff for me to play with Grin.

Otherwise, we started some therapy for Isaac on Monday which will hopefully sort out his sensitive hearing. 10 days of 2 hr round trips (twice a day) though so its taking its toll. We've only done 3 days. Hopefully it will be worth it!

Right, got to go, dinner is ready and I need to eat!

IHaveQuestionsForSanta · 29/12/2010 08:22

Hope everyone had a good christmas? Smile

We had a fab christmas. DS just loved it! We had one very excited boy. Grin We are going to stay with family and are having a night out with DH in a 'very nice' restaurant tomorrow night. So looking forward to it, just need to find something to where. Could do with a great coast dress like blue and the figure to match

Blue Hope B's birthday party went well Smile

vjay we also have way too much festive food in the house, not good when you are trying to be good. Glad you are enjoying your kindle!

Neeko Your lovely DH! What a gorgeous present. Hope you are all feeling better now and you have a healthy start to 2011

LBM Sounds like a great family Christmas.

monkey and mermaid Hoping 2011 is a much better year for you both x

Barbie hope you are enjoying time with your family and not finding the cold too much. Buying clothes to keep warm is a good excuse for going shopping in the sales though Grin

louey Glad you have made the move to big panters. hope you and BQ managed to eat Christmas day lunch and you are both starting to feel a bit brighter.

4ever curly cupcake buddha hope all your little bundle of joys enjoyed their 1st Christmas' too. Am sure they were all thoroughly spoilt.

moon keeping my fingers crossed for you for 2011.

A big hello to everyone else, I hope 2011 brings health, happiness and a sense of peace to all us Emmsy's.

VJayJingles · 27/12/2010 18:37

Hello Xmas Smile

Hope you all had a nice Christmas Xmas Smile

StNeekolas yes I did get my Kindle and I LOVE it Xmas Grin, I've bought the Millenium trilogy for it and so far so good. Your ring sounds lovely Xmas Smile

monkey and mermaid I was thinking of you both, hope you're both ok Xmas Smile

Ajay got a weebles tree house with a slide and he loves it, is that the same as Summers 4ever?

I am absolutly shattered today, the boys have been very lucky and have run us ragged Xmas Grin

Now need to get rid of all the festive food in the house ready for 2011, for this is the year that I finally lose the weight!

StNeekolas · 27/12/2010 07:21

Hi all.

Great Christmas here. Ate too much food and especially chocolate, spent 3 hours Xmas Shock opening presents and house looks like Toys R Us but I love it. Xmas Grin Very grateful to have what i have, even though one loves my company so much that she doesn't want to sleep! Xmas Smile

Did exceptionally well myself with loads of lovely things including a Kindle from the girls. (Hope you got urs Vjay) My lovely, lovely, lovely DH gave me a "thanks for having H" Boxing Day present of a 3-in-a-straight diamond ring! Xmas Smile Xmas Smile I know I'm very lucky.

Hope you all had a great time and particularly Mermaid and Monkey found it easier than expected.

May the sun shine for us all in 2011.

Off for asneaky look at the sales now. xx

LittleJingleBellsMum · 26/12/2010 10:45

Hope everyone is having a happy Christmas - life in the LJBM house is just mad, but lots of fun. DH has spent most of the last 2 days building lego with DS, DD2 finally got her presents open before she went to bed and DD1 and I had a lovely hour, curled up at each end of the sofa under her new fleecy blanket, both reading and sharing a bag of toffee. DH is not sure who is copying who!

Love to all - esecially to those enjoying their first Christmas's with a baby and to those wishing for the same next year

Hope our medium and big panters continue to feel sick (in the nicest way) and that those of us who are missing people this year get lots of hugs from their families.

Back when things calm down!
ps Barbie - hope you manage to stay warm and that Dolly isn't too bemused by the cold!
