The August Bus

Morning all! kat2504 I giggled at the idea that your iphone app emails you to let you know if your period is late - like any of us on this bus would need an email to alert us to that fact, more likely we'd be peeing on all the sticks we could get our hands on!!!

CD6 here and DH is away (again!) but he's working in UK next week so I'm trying to psych my body up to do its stuff then!! Grapefruit shopping trip is in order this eve me thinks :)

Morning everyone joining the August bus. Fingers crossed for sticky BFPs this month.

Have had weirdest AF this month - am normally very regular (28 day cycle) and (sorry TMI) very heavy, but since I had my coil out in August have had late periods. This months only lasted 3 days - and am sure I ovulated as I had the pain at the right time. I am also still feeling queasy and although I know am not pg (BFN plus AF) did check with the nurse - apparently folic acid can make you feel queasy ( - new one on me) and I may also have low grade heart burn - which can do the queasy/funny taste in mouth. So much for my phantom symptom spotting!

Typo galore- supposed to say: CAN'T really put it all together as quite LONG duration of symptoms

Wow our august bus is getting big-think we need a double decker lol-welcome aboard. I think I'm starting on the 2 wk wait from today. Since last Wednesday was getting what felt like ovulation pain and ewcm with increasingly darker line on opk till darkest sun evening with it starting to get lighter yest.also had sore boobs yest so can really put it together as seems like quite ling duration of ovulation sx but guessing I ovulated yesterday ????? SWI sun morning and mon night so fingers crossed!!!!:) bought some cheap Internet preg tests so all ready !!!! Now just need some more willpower to not be tempted to test too early-when do u guys start testing from?

I've been using the andriod app 'My Days' to keep track of my cycle as I used to be really irregular. It's very basic but it does a little countdown to either AF or ovulation on your homescreen which I found helpful.

I go on mymonthlycycles.com to track my periods, it's free and very handy and it emails me a few days before ovulation and also emails me if my period is late. It has a link to a site called whenmybaby and you can transport your cycle stats there and it helps you determine your window of opportunity. My monthly cycles can also store your temps but I can't get the hang of temping. consistently forget to do it in half asleep haze more often than I remember.

ha ha spirita does that mean you are trying to furtively hide and pee on the opks anyway? I am great at concealing my obsession but now I have graduated to the cbfm it will be a little harder to hide. Are the two nights he is away in a row? If not you should be fine anyway, every two days is good enough apparently.

im sure this isnt what anyone wants 2 hear, but when i was pregnant with my 1st i had cravings 4 grapefruit, i eventually ate one-and it came back up looking exactly the same!! havent been able 2 eat 1 or dring its juice since!

Hello to new passengers! It's nice to see so many familiar faces from the July bus but also sad that so many of us seem to have swapped buses.

I'm going to have to try this grapefruit juice thing. I actually like the stuff which is a bonus as I don't know many people who do!

What about just eating it? Or does it have to be fresh juice? Interesting!

Apparently pink grapefruit is the same as long as it's not from concentrate :)

Think you're only meant to drink up to ovulation. I don't think it does any harm or anything, but it's just meant to get your juices flowing lol

I bought some grapefruit juice today, I had to get pink grapefruit juice because it was the only one they had that wasn't from concentrate. Do you think it has the same effect? Are you supposed to drink it throughout the whole cycle? I hate grapefruit so I'm going to have to hold my nose to drink it, yuk. I hope it works!

I was thinking about doing the grapefruit juice thing too BabsH. Apparently it does something good to your EWCM, especially if you don't currently have it.

I've not had it since I came off the pill the end of August so going to try at least.
Think blood orange juice and pink grapefruit does the same thing, and probably will taste better, but none of it can be from concentrate, it has to be pure.

My hubbie is the same about trying, just wants to relax and see what happens, but there is always the bit just before AF when we start noticing all the symptoms and get a bit hopeful, every month it gets a bit harder to be positive :)

Lets hope this is our month!!!

Just adding myself to the list, hadn't realised how close it was! Not holding out a lot of hope for this month but at least i can expect to see some friendly faces on the next bus (unless everyone gets lucky )

I am seriously having to kerb my tea drinking? this 4 hours before doing an OPK is killing me !!

I am on CD13 today, I have ov?d this early before, but post-MC who knows what my body is doing? The latest I?ve ever ov?d is CD 32 so I just don?t know. Hoping the OPKs will give me something to go on this month. Have not used them before.

Temps have taken a bit of a dip yesterday and today, so don?t know if perhaps only now has all the HCG finally left my system? In which case OV could be many days away yet

Hope we are all doing well today! It?s so wet and windy today, hard to not feel dreary, but trying to be positive

Hello! Can I join this bus? I got kicked off the July bus when AF arrived and like MrsP81 have been sulking for a few days. AF is on the way out now though so feeling more positive.

I'm not holding out much hope for this month. I'm trying to be really cool and laid back as this is only my second month TTC but have hardly had any action this last week.

We've both had a manic time at work and have hardly seen each other. Think I might be taking a leaf out of Getdown's book shortly!

Things should be back to normal from this evening though but I think it's too late.

at Getdown's preparations. I thought I was bad enough with my grapefruit juice (it's on 3 for 2 in Tesco!) evening primrose capsules and charting. I only have 10 OPK's though. Think I might have to do another ebay trip much to DH's dispair
