Come and join me if you are TTC an August baby [hgrin]

This is my first bus and I think I am being brave in starting the engine.

Morning all,

Just wanted to add in my opinion on TTC. I think that like Eskarina TTC is just one part of your life, so I wouldnt be putting everything else on hold. If nothing else, being so focussed on having a baby might in fact make it harder to conceive, relaxing about it might just be the right thing, plus you will then have time out with your friends and have other things to think about rather than just making babies.

I havent given up drinking, caffiene, soft cheese etc, only had those things in moderation anyway and I guess that I am enjoying them until I have to give them up for months and months and months.....

It's so hard when other people are having babies all round but I try hard to be excited for them and look forward till it might be my time :o

sillybillymummy · 19/11/2010 00:28

mslk I wouldn't have survived the last 7 months ttc without a few drinks along the way.. everytime i get a bfn, i have a glass of wine to cheer me up! Maybe I will ease up on the drinking after chrimbo!

Eskarina i read that as 'you should put ttc before anything else' , then i realised that you meant.. ttc comes with normal life... because i have to keep it in perspective. It was just hard when one of my friends last night was saying to another friend 'there is only 2 days a month when you can get pregnant' - and i wanted to get up grab my bag and say, i have to go, because it is one of those days!! The realisation, that i should be at home, hopping on DH! and not sat chattering away about 'wanting another baby'!

Fingers crossed for everyone testing this weekend :-)

Eskarina · 18/11/2010 22:58

sillybillymummy I know what you mean, but I'm taking the view that TTC comes on top of normal life. It could take a while to conceive (it is taking a while...) and I don't want to put my whole life on hold possobly indefinitely.
Also, if you ov'd yesterday and had DTD 2 days before that then you've quite possibly hit the window anyway - sperm can last several days on the inside.

I've got a date for my initial investigations, but not until 9th December. It feels both ages away and too close all at the same time. It seems like it's taking a while to get the ball rolling, but if there is more of a problem there than my GP is expecting then I'm not ready to know about it yet. [sigh]

Also it should be prime SWI time this weekend, but my parents are coming to stay. If I get a positive OPK we might just have to find a way of getting it done quietly though Blush

mslk · 18/11/2010 22:47

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies, and for adding my stats GetDown.

Sending you positive vibes for testing tomorrow QOTCW, sorry you?re having to wait though. I can only imagine how frustrating and upsetting it is.

Hi Level and you?re right Aurorasky, it is nice here.

Congrats Pixie, but understand your concerns over timing

CMD83 ? I?m telling myself that feeling sick earlier is more to do with a bug going round than anything else, as I?m only a few Days PO too I believe.

SillyBillyMummy ? Good question, and something to think about. Not the same but of a similar ilk. Do I/we, carry on going out and possibly drinking and alike while TTC or do I/we be good and try and dodge the funny looks and questions if we don?t have a glass in our hand?!

sillybillymummy · 18/11/2010 20:45

This bus moves so fast - just giving everyone a sunny smile (i have nearly done all my xmas shopping today, so feeling rather smug)

A question for fellow bus ladies...
Its out swi-ing time, but i have had to go out a couple of nights in a row.. and Dh been asleep when got home - i found myself feeling really miffed as i'm sure i OV'd yesterday and haven't SWI'd for 3 days :-(

I actually started feeling like i shouldn't have gone last night.. and we should be putting our want for a baby first - Should i just start keeping that 'time of the month' free??? Its gettign ridiculous that we can't even attempt to ttc because we are both always so busy, yet we are upset every month when AF turns up.. - does anyone else have this issue?

aurorasky · 18/11/2010 20:36

Wow, this bus moves fast! Really glad to see the BFP's.
Im now on my 9th day of EWCM and 6th consecutive day of SWI!! Exhausted, but happy to have an equally determined DH.
mslk, glad you jumped on, I'm also new, it's nice here :)

ravenlocks · 18/11/2010 20:06

Klou I'll buy Take That - better than that daft bird song and no doubt better that whatever the X-factor lot trot out. Never Forget reminds me of my last year at high school and our very emotional good-byes as we all went our own way in the world. Awww!

Good stuff for pixie. I like a good start to a bus ride, BFP-wise. I noticed rugbywidow on the Sept bus so AF must have got her.

OOOPS!
Please excuse the rubbish spelling x

CMD83 · 18/11/2010 19:44

I think I have gone nuts? only 4/5 DPO heavy slightly achey boob, felt a little nausus all day and was also so emotionally unstable all day too felt like I could burst into tears at any point for no damm reason. Iknow this can't possibly be symptoms of pregnancy yet? So is it new pmt? i've never had any before. So confused DP thinks I'm psycho!!!! You'd think that having done this before I'd know the signs, but truth be told just don't trust my body theese days.
Sorry to ramble just had to clear my chest.
Hello to all the new passengers!

Well done all the graduates!!

KLou111 · 18/11/2010 18:22

Knitter not had anything unusual to eat or drink, or any massage etc.

passthechocs think too early for implantation, think that is around 7DPO if you have it. AF due 30/11. Would be great though if it was :)

passthechocs · 18/11/2010 18:13

Hello to everyone joining the bus - see you soon Terry?

Brilliant news for Pixie - fingers crossed for sticky beans and more BFPs

Sorry its taking a while level and knitter - and for the ectopic and MC knitter. We are only on cycle 6 and it feels like an age.

KLou thats not implantation bleeding is it? I think I remember reading that it happens before AF would be due. Not sure how long implantation takes though if you ov'ed monday?

KnitterNotTwitter · 18/11/2010 17:49

KLou111 Have you eaten or drunk something that has a detoxing effect? Or had reflexology or a massage or similar? I get a bit of brown when I wipe if I've done any of these sometimes....

KLou111 · 18/11/2010 17:27

Hi all
Went to loo earlier and wiped and had discharge with brown streaks in it. Not sure what it is as supposedly only OV'd Monday, so only 3DPO.
Any ideas what it could be??

KnitterNotTwitter · 18/11/2010 17:26

oooh and congratluations Pixie. Looks like this is a VERY fertile bus :)

KnitterNotTwitter · 18/11/2010 17:24

Welcome level. FWIW I've been trying for 12 cycles too but have had an ectopic and a miscarriage in that time....

Hopefully 12 will be our lucky number...

I've been to the bridal shop today. I have a vintage wedding dress but can hardly get it on and off so took it to see if she can alter it. She can't do what i want Sad but is going to take the dress apart, remake the skirt for me (shorter) and if she can't salvage the top half she is going to use the pattern to make me a jacket in the same style but in a completely contrasting colour. Smile It's going to cost a bit more than i planned but as i don't really spend money on myself i figured I should treat myself as it's for such a special occasion. Well two occasions technically as we're having a legal ceremony soon and then a pagan one when we can afford it!

My new batch of medicine came from my herbalist today with some minor tweaking (so she says) after a long chat about my last cycle. Of course.....if i get pregnant this month i'll have to be careful about how my wedding dress is made.....or it might be a bit tight come the wedding Grin

level · 18/11/2010 16:09

Please can someone add me to the next posting of the list.
I'm guessing the cycle part is the number of months you've been trying (mine seems depressingly longer than most)

100years · 18/11/2010 15:19

Ddas :) Congratulations :)

Good luck QOTCW

I think I am doing the temp thing all wrong and so I might stop doing it, it's starting to drive me a bit crazy. Temped this morning when I woke in the middle of my sleep to go for a wee and it was 36.42, temped when I properly woke 3 hours later and it was 36.72. Very confused.

OP posts:
KLou111 · 18/11/2010 14:37

QOTCW I know I know!! It's been circulating Facebook for a while now.

I've got a lot of work to do if I want to beat it, but I'll be happy with a number 2 or 3 :)

Just want X-Factor off, it totally ruins the Xmas charts!

Hi MSLK and welcome aboard x

KnitterNotTwitter · 18/11/2010 14:33

Congratulations ddas and Welcome mslk

My AF is heading off so it'll be time to start leaping on the DH again soon. After having a couple of months of half hearted trying this month DH is going to be knackered and I'm going to be upduffed :)

GetDownYouWillFall · 18/11/2010 14:17

Welcome to mslk Smile No need to lurk, you are very welcome aboard!! I have added you to the stats. Sounds like you timed it right so hopefully you will get a BFP!

Have also moved myself up the list, as looks like I ov'd yesterday (hurrah - finally!) so that makes my AF due on 30th Nov.

Hope we are all ok today.

How frustrating QOTCW that you can't get a test until tomorrow! Keep us posted!"

Okay AF is now 3 days late and I can't get myself a test until I get paid tomorrow. I'm driving myself crazy as no-one in RL knows this yet!! Thank you MN for giving me somewhere to vent!

Oh, KLou111 this is the next Xmas No 1.

mslk · 18/11/2010 13:52

Room for a little one?

Have watched the bus pass by on its normal route for a few days now, too scared to stick out my hand and jump on. Very naughty of me, sorry.

But today I?m feeling brave and wondered if I could join?

Sorry if I have missed anyone?s news:

Congrats 100years, enjoy every min of being engaged, planning and the big day.

Sorry to hear about your DH buttonmoon, fingers crossed a new job will come up soon.

QOTCW ? hope you get a BFP with your re-test

Getdown ? great news on your positive OPK, hope your SWI proves successful

Ddas - Congrats

Sorry to hear of those who have MC, fingers crossed for this month.

As for me, I?m very new to this. I?m a newly wed and TTC#1.

Stats:
MSLK TTC#1 Cycle 1 UCL 28-32 AF due 27 Nov-1 Dec

Please would someone mind adding me to the list, I don?t want to mess it up.

Not been doing temps or sticks and didn?t know about EWCM until reading it here. Think I had it, or something like it over the weekend and made sure we DTD. I think I?m now on TWW. Have had gurglings down below like I get the day before AF shows up but I?m not sure if I always get that about this time and have never noticed before, if it?s my mind/body playing tricks on me or if it means something.

Anyway this has turned into a long post sorry. Wishing good luck to everyone. x

MorayRose · 18/11/2010 12:29

FANTASTIC news ddas and it's lovely that we can all share a little bit of your joy. I hope it's a really happy journey for you.

I'm pretty certain that I'll be leaving his bus over the weekend. AF due Sat/Sun and I'm pretty sure it's going to be bang on time.

Looking forward to getting down to the nitty gritty straight afterwards though!
