Thanks for the rum mummya

mouse and pff thanks for the good wishes for the dogs.

nicks It's not me having an op, it's my dog. He's managed to chew a hole in himself where he had a burst abscess, and they've found a lump so they're going to clean him up and test the lump.

loola FX for the HPT. What brand did you use?

apple lol at pizza story :) Hope sickness gets better soon.

PinkFondantFancy · 20/10/2010 08:23

loola exciting!!! Whoop how long till you hpt??

batty almonds are v v good for you as they have loads of vit e! And I'm sure in croissant form they are twice as good for you......

dachs sorry your dogs are ill, hope they get better v soon!

nicko did you save some cakes for yourself?? Hope they didn't all go to per school!
Gotta dash have good day everyone xx

nickstermum · 20/10/2010 07:56

Morning ladiesxxx

Dacha are you in for op today? Kisses to you Hun if you arexxxx

Mama 3wks in oz how on earth did you wangle that jammy bugger?? Don't forget to swi amongst all that tan topping up!! Christmas cake yum, working mum here doesn't mormally have time to bake but you may just have inspired me ;)

Loola...... Ooh exciting! A of symptom I got last time over and above the need to eat constantly was blood sugAr, if I didn't eat enough I started to badly shake, one to watch out for! Sadly I still have stripy (saggy) boobs, lumpy nips and a pot belly so regardless of a bfp I could pretend anyway!!!

Have a lovely day all wavesxxx

appleblossoms · 20/10/2010 07:39

Ooh mamap i'm planning on making my christmas cake soon! That smell...mmmm :)
nicks you're right about the difference between 'girl' and 'boy' swimmers, but I think that's why they say if you only swi before ov it's the girl ones that are most likely to hang around...apparently!
loola got my fx for you. Can't throw a haddock as I did the same! Check out the peeonastick site. What brand hpt did you use?
dach sorry about your dog, and not suprised you stayed home...hope you had a lovely evening.
Good luck with your negative mouse
I decided to confess to dh, he found it funny and reminded me of my burnt to a cinder pizza when pg with ds...so he reckons kitchen fires are a sign it'll go well this time as usually I avoid kitchen disasters!
In other news, feeling super sick this morning so might just curl up on this sofa and wave at you all day.

HeadlessLadyBoo · 19/10/2010 23:25

Hi just marking place - having been attempting to work but but not getting much done, now need to check on DS who's suffering a heavy cold before I crawl into bed.
See you all tomorrow

loola2shu · 19/10/2010 22:47

Ooooohhh forgot to say MOUSE & CHOCCY I am a fellow geordie....we're taking over the thread!

mousebacon · 19/10/2010 22:42

Hi ladies, just popping in before bed [hsmile]

DachshundsRule I hope the op goes well tomorrow.

Velvet hope the obs went well, hopefully that will mean you won't get done again tomorrow - unless you work in a v small school?

wombat FX for you. FWIW the pregnancy I just lost was conceived through having SWI once (and only once) and I reckon it was about 3 or 4 days before I laid an egg.

nicks pleased you had a good day - hope you've been enjoying a large glass of wine [hgrin]

yrotb I'm honestly amazed at how fast the pain went away. I just feel totally knackered (good geordie word there for you choccy Wink ) Not sure what level of tiredness is normal. I'm getting to about 4pm and feeling like I need a nap and that's really not like me.

Not much to report really, been out and bought some wellwoman vitamins - they're supposed to support a healthy cycle and have worked in the past to shorten my ridiculously long cycles. I figured they couldn't do any harm so what the hell. They're normally £10 a box in boots but got 3 boxes for £10 in asda waitrose asda so what the hell; I'll give them a go.

Going to take a HPT in the morning and pray to all that is holy that it's NEGATIVE!

Mucho love xxxxx

MummyAbroad · 19/10/2010 22:39

errr thanks for clearing that up about the arse and fanjo Nix Hmm Grin

Velvet sorry that it was AF and not BFP Well done for getting through obs, not fun.

apples - celebrating bonfire night a bit early?Grin Grin

Bakers I do admire your efforts in the kitchen I have never owned a kitchen implement made of bamboo, sounds impressive, nor made a christmas cake.

Dach, hi! and cheers!! sorry about your poor dog Sad

Pink your clinic appointment sounds interesting. I always thought in an ideal world all women who mc should get at least basic tests done. It seem so unfair that you have to have 3 before you can get help. Hope its useful, do share what you learn xxxx

loola2shu · 19/10/2010 22:38

Oh here you all are!

Justing marking my place....

Oh and while I'm here I have poaopk last 2 days and I have A '+' ....darker today than yesterday but BFN on hpt.

I am either 11dpo or 9dpo (not entirely sure!!) What do you ladies make of that?

I am feeling very positive this cycle which I think is depression waiting to happen Sad

DachshundsRule · 19/10/2010 21:32

Hello all. Nice shiny new thread :)

mamap I love it when there are Christmassy smells through the house. Unfortunately I usually make mine in about March (along with the Christmas pudding and the mincemeat, although this year I still had mincemeat from last year so haven't made any) so there are never Christmassy smells close to Christmas... Hope the wedding goes well and that neither SIL pisses you off too much.

pff Good luck with it all! (I had to tell DH that there would be tests on his swimmers and he was terrified, bless him!)

nicks Glad it all went well. Enjoy your relaxation

apple Hope the clean up operation goes well. Like the idea of a kitchen bonfire though ;)

velvet Glad AF has turned up. Hope the cycles get shorter for you.

jolls Welcome back to the shiny new thread.

wombat Hope the swimmers have survived. FX for you.

yrmotb There is NEVER any shame in eating almond croissants.

mummya Thanks for the rum and vitamins. Can I have another glass?

PinkFondantFancy · 19/10/2010 21:11

Just a quickie - mamap I am soooo impressed with your christmas cake makingness you domestic goddess!!!! Every year I think I should make one but unfortunately I don't get around to it until about 24th December so end up buying one anyway!!

MamaPower · 19/10/2010 21:02

[hgrin] arse or fanjo! Priceless nix! Glad DS had a fab day, go have a lovely, well deserved bath to relax [hsmile]

Pink suggest you offer to help dh produce said sperm sample [hgrin] [hgrin], he'll gagging for a release after 3 days anyway!!!

apple lol! perhaps you can tell dh it was a dry run for the real deal in a few weeks time!

Izzy off to Melbourne for SIL's wedding (I have 2 SIL's and I secretly refer to them as the ugly sisters because there is little endearing about either of them)! Anyway, every cloud; 2 nights in KL in both directions and also 2 nights in Sydney and 3 nights with our friends on the coast (one of my best friends emigrated there years ago)! So vaguely looking forward to it!

Waves to all

PS Smell of christmas cake cooking is wafting into lounge and making my mouth water... it's gonna be a good one this year with all the alcohol in it [hgrin]

OP posts:
nickstermum · 19/10/2010 19:59

[hgrin] @ fondant who is getting DH to a sperm testing apt wihtout telling him- devious fancy!

Well.... i survived! only just!
Knackerood, still have lots of clearing up to do, have done a bakeathon of cakes today for his pre-school tomorrow. DS had awesome day, toy-storeyed and thomas'd out! Eaten nothing but crap but thats ok for once a year [hgrin]

Temping is not going at all. spent half the night up with DS and so didnt think it would be accurate when i woke up! I was also wearing about 100 layers!

velvet welcome to my world! 40 plus day cycles, not good, i have finally accepted its ok though, as long as you ov and have a long enough LP its just that you have less opportunities than if you were only 28 days {hsad]

mummy glad you are feeling better about coming on here. will re-read your post earlier as only glanced at it before. DS is 3 today, and that anniversary usually makes me think about the hideousness that was his birth, together with the incompetency that was the midwife.... so can understand from that point of view....saying that the MC does seemed to have put that in perspective for me somehow...bizarrely! (almost cast it into shadow of unimportance now as at least he is here safe and finally sound if that makes sense) So i havent been thinking about that too much thankfully :) Even tho the MW i had was incompetent, to do what she did to you, should be struck off [hsad]

apples i thought sex determinaton was due to the strength and speed of the swimmers? Ie boy sperm is the faster swimmer but dies quicker, girls slower swimmers but last longer? or is it the other way round? cant remember! too sugared up from eating crap!

Anyway, catch up properly tomorrow - off for a much needed relax

and no i havent put it up my arse or my fanjo!

PinkFondantFancy · 19/10/2010 19:27

Hello all you lovelies!! Thanks for the new thread mamap! v observant of you! Wonder if there's a mumsnet record for speed of filling a thread? If so, surely we hold it???

chocs are you off for some german beers to tonight?? YUM! can you make a wish for me too? Does it even work like that???

jolls sorry you're here Hun :( fingers crossed tests will sort you out asap and in the meantime we will try and look after you ((())))

velvet good to hear you survived today! Good luck for tomorrow!

apples lmao at your kitchen bonfire :) won't dh be interested to know where the steamer's gone?

nicksteroo any decision on thermometer location?? I was just thinking that to take bbt you've got to have just woken up and you shouldn't exert yourself before temping-how flexible are you???? Hehehhe

Hello to everyone else, sorry for namecheck rubbishness.

My news is that I've got an appt at the Argc in London for the end of next month to talk
about getting blood tests-I'm feeling like a bit of a fraud going there as have only had one mc and it's a centre really for people that have been through much worse than me, but I'd really like to get tested for any tendency to recur before it happens iyswim? I haven't broken to DH that they recommend absinence for 3 days before and to arrive half hour before appt so they can get a sperm sample....... I don't see the point of a sample really as only wanted blood tests but figure might as well test everything while we're there!! Definitely need to pick a good moment to talk about that...

Hello to everyone else, on phone as usual!

Urbanlolly · 19/10/2010 18:47

WAVES TO EVERYONE

on way home just catching up with all the new posts..xx
[hwink]

appleblossoms · 19/10/2010 17:59

ooh what a lovely new thread... Thanks mamap for setting this up, Australian BFP for you as a thank you me thinks.

velvet sorry/pleased AF has finally arrived properly (delete as appropriate depending on mood!...

batty I haven't run in about ten years since I was doing my a-levels! i'm with izzy's acupuncturist and am 'conserving energy'.. yup. definitely not just being lazy!

wombat don't give up yet...tis true, just one swimmer is needed... don't they say it's more likely to be a girl if SWI is before ovulation??

Happy Birthday to yooooouuuuu choccy you having a good day? Doing anything special tonight?

so... I learnt something this evening...when your bamboo steamer is broken and has dangly bits, it's not a good idea to use it on a gas stove.... kitchen bonfire's are not much fun! luckily DH isn't home till late so should be able to clear it all up before he gets back and he'll never know! [hgrin] [hblush] whoops!

kat2504 · 19/10/2010 17:58

Hello everyone, nice to see you all on this lovely new thread!

velvet how is ofsted going? hope they loved your lesson!

wombat my sympathies to you am in exactly same position, also hoping Sunday's "contribution" has survived as got the pos opk this morning and think tomorrow night may well be that bit too late. Fingers crossed for us both!

jollster good to hear from you on the thread and I hope you get somewhere really quickly with the testing.

Wombat33 · 19/10/2010 17:52

Thanks girls! I may just have to run a few marathons over the next few days [hgrin] although, I have to say, an impromptu trip to Costa Rica sounds much more appealing!! DH is always insisting he has 'super sperm' [hhmm] so we'll see if that claim holds true! Also, my cycles are c31-32 days long so ov on CD15 would be really quite a long lp, so I'm hoping that I'm one of those people that shows a surge quite a few days before ov (I usually get three days of smilies on the opk). Hey ho! Well see! xxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/10/2010 17:40

mamapower sorry m'dear, forgot to thank you for starting shiney new thread and say how jealous I am of your upcoming visit to Oz - you lucky thing! [henvy]. I spent 5 weeks there after we left uni and loved it. When and whereabouts are you going?

Velvetcu · 19/10/2010 17:37

MummyA sorry to hear your evil midwife story!

Again, I shouldnt be in here as I have to plan for 2nd day of osted (i got observed today!) but just wanted to pop in and say AT LAST the bitch is finally here!!! CD1 today after a frikkin 42 day cycle - craziness.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 19/10/2010 17:37

Oh here you all are! [hsmile]

mummya really sorry to hear you had such a hard time with ds's birth, that sounds terrible and must have been really traumatic [hsad]. The mw sounds like she was a nightmare, sometimes I wonder how people end up in these jobs that they are just clearly so unsuited to or rubbish at. I suppose though that the fact that you were able to get pg again is a plus sign that hopefully any injury wasn't permanent, although I know that won't stop you worrying and also wondering about the recent ERPC. But remember you are still looking at the worst case scenario, which absolutely might not be what's going on with you. Anyhow, I'm glad you have appointment sorted, hopefully you will get some answers and they will be the ones you want. >

jolls - good to hear from you again, my lovely, although I'm sorry you're back in the circs [hsad]. Hopefully your stay will be short x

wombat - do not give up hope, it only takes one!!

batgirl do not fret about almond croissant, surely there must be some essential vits or protein in there? Lack of running also not to be guilt-inducing since my acupuncturist tells me we should be eating plenty and "banking" energy for good fertility chances

MamaPower · 19/10/2010 16:47

Wombat my love, it just takes one of those swimmers and my first pregnancy was conceived whilst DH was out of the country because they hung around for a few days Grin, you just never know!

Hi Jolls Sorry you are back here Sad, let's hope the tests reveal the answers to help you Smile

MummyA Rum and pregnacare, those are a few of my favourite things Grin, how did you guess Grin hee hee!!

OP posts:
MummyAbroad · 19/10/2010 16:43

Grin yeah I was going for the double whammy lacing in the style of Izzy's muffins with bee pollen!

So wombat,
factors that delay ovulation:
going on holiday
changing time zones
vigorous exercise
ill health

So how do you fancy sprinting to the airport, jumping on a plane to Costa Rica and letting everyone sneeze on you all the way over?GrinGrin

Seriously though, you are still in with a chance, its only LH surge that has been detected not necessarily ov AND as batgirl says, there could be swimmers in there just waiting to pounce!

youremindmeofthebat · 19/10/2010 16:39

WHY ARE MY SMILEYS NOT HALLOWEENY? Oh bugger. That's why. [hblush]

youremindmeofthebat · 19/10/2010 16:38

Hi!
Before we start, I'm gonna say sorry for not namechecking enough recently, I have been lax, and I promise that this thread I Will Try Harder. SmileSmile

I am loving these Halloween smileys too velvet. I am easily pleased.

Hope you're taking good care of yourself mouse. Are you feeling a little better physically?

wombat that's totally sod's law, isn't it? How typical. fingers crossed for the swimmers hanging around. I hear it can be up to five days in ideal circumstances!

Ooh punch, mummyA. Sounds lovely.
