Awww just lurking as ever, but wanted to say how sorry I am to hairy , what sad news for you, its such a slap in the face. I echo the others and hope that you are being looked after well :(

bee Im sorry that AF seems to be on its way too.

Hope to see more BFPs on here very very soon!!

Good luck to yous all..

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/11/2010 08:44

(((( ladybee )))) sorry it looks like she's coming Sad. I know exactly what you mean about zen, it's relatively easy to stay calm and positive when you're secretly thinking "but maybe..." then when the maybe goes, you realise that the calm and positivity goes with it. It's so tough.

I hate too that the good luck isn't very well distributed, and I hate that everything seems such a battle, like you having to fight for some treatment that might actually help. I think at the low times it's the strength of the wonderful ladies on this thread that keeps me going, there are some amazing people on here and it stops the whole thing being so damn lonely.

I'm hoping for a bfp this cycle, in time for my due date at Christmas, but like you I suspect that may just be too "neat". I hope you have a lovely day with ds today (why don't you spoil yourselves and do something special - or just have a lazy day depending on your mood) and that maybe the temps will jump back up tomorrow. Anyway we're here if you need to rant ((hugs))

(((((((((BEE)))))))))))))

PinkFondantFancy · 10/11/2010 08:07

lady so sorry :( Maybe it's a one off blip and they'll be back tomorrow. If AF does show up though I'm so sorry, like you say, it would have been a lovely consolation to have got your BFP at your due date and to have been pg for your birthday. Gutted for you honey. You have summed up so eloquently what I've been struggling to express for ages, it's not that I wish bad stuff on other people, just wish easy plain sailing was more evenly dished out. If AF does show up I hope you'll be drinking something more exciting than sparkling water on your birthday. I hope DS cheers you up today xx

Ladybee · 10/11/2010 07:52

Ah f#%k.

hairytriangle I'm so sorry. That's just so crappy I can't believe it. I just don't understand why one person gets so much shit luck and another goes sailing through. Not that I wish shit on anyone else but that the sailing through could be a bit more evenly distributed. Anyway, I'm so sorry hairyt, hope you're moving through the referrals, confirmation etc without too much extra stress at this difficult time.

And an additional crappola from me. My temps plummeted today practically down to coverline. My zen evaporated (obviously is sham zen, only applies while I can hang on to some hope) and I wailed and snotted on dh's chest. Right now I feel like I could stay in my dark cozy nest all day, but I don't think ds will allow that and it's my day at home with him today.

To add to the gloom tomorrow is my due date from 1st pregnancy this year. It would have felt so right to have tested and seen a positive but no, fate/god/whatever has decided that is too neat a story. Neither will I be pg on my birthday this month and get to smile as I sip sparkling water. I'm sorry, poor me poor me - you know what it's like though. And I'll bounce back in a while. But today I think I'll say ah f#%k it a few more times.

nix bad girl!! I would have felt v bad if something had happened to you on m6 cos of my chart!!!!

Hehe izz DH's bits have been designated a no go zone for a few weeks to get him repaired ready to commence scattergunning next cycle.....

Oi babe and velvet please can you POAS to save me from having to? I think I've become phobic of doing it....

mummya and everyone else, thanks for studying chart, got another high temp today so keeping fingers crossed, although tempted to leave another week before POAS just in case the rather spurious cd24 was actually the day.... I agree, I don't think temping is stressful and in fact have found it quite empowering as around about now full on mentalling would have commenced but am feeling quite chilled currently! Maybe the acupuncture's doing the job afterall!! Should hope so too-not cheap!!! I hope your flight to England is nice and easy mummy, your DS sounds so sweet :)

hairy hope you're doing ok xx

nix get this-8:30 meeting in central London today!!!!!!!! Gaaaaahhh I am getting far too familiar with the 07:00 train for my liking!!!

I'm in trouble with acupuncturist for not taking my herbal pills..... I'm not taking them until I can find someone who can prove they aren't going to kill me.....

OrangeToeNails · 10/11/2010 07:01

hairy I am so sorry for you, nothing I can say will help, but I hope you're being well cared for x

mummya thanks for the welcome :) you're going to 'love' our weather at the mo, but more importantly something's being done so that's great news

inbetweener have you tested yet? I didn't test positive until I was a week late but it didn't work out so maybe that was why Confused

< waves to everyone else and apologises for crap thread following, will catch up tonight :) >

Here is a copy of a diagnostic quiz for PCOS from the book A Patients Guide to PCOS :

Part 1 - Irregular menstrual periods

  1. Do you have eight or fewer periods a year?
  2. Have you ever gone four months or longer without having a period?
  3. Do you have irregular bleeding or spotting?
  4. Are you having trouble conceiving?

Part 2 - Skin and Hair problems

  1. Do you have excessive hair on your face and body?
  2. Do you have severe adolescent or persistent adult acne?
  3. Do you have thinning scalp hair?
  4. Do you have skin tags, or velvety dark skin patches on the nape of your neck?

Part 3 - Weight problems

  1. Have you recently had a significant weight gain?
10. Do you carry excess weight around your waistline? 11. Do you feel sugar cravings, drowsiness, and sometimes light headedness within the first few hours after a mean? 12. Do you or any close family members have type 2 diabetes?

According to the book, answering YES five or more times means you need to seek a diagnosis, but it also says you can answer NO to all of these and still have PCOS, symptoms vary a lot from woman to woman.

From the tests that I did I learned that other symptoms used for a diagnosis are:

  • seeing cysts on your ovaries during an internal scan (but you can have cysts and not have PCOS)
  • having a higher level of the hormone LH in relation to FSH. The numbers should be about the same, if there is a ratio of 3:1 this would indicate PCOS. The blood test must be done at the beginning of your cycle in order not to confuse your regular LH level with a pre ov LH surge.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility says that

  • PCOS patients would have lots of EGCM patches throughout the month, not just before ov
  • Charts would look erratic, with long cycles and no clear regular ov pattern.

Just had a read back, I am now fully up to date on snowboarding toddlers, christmas flavoured lattes, and far TMI about all your pant snots Grin Great reading ladies, and thanks for all your lovely messages.Smile

hello to all newbiesSmile I like this introduction thing that others have done, so I will join in. I am 35, from London but I live in Costa Rican with my Costa Rican husband and DS who is 2.5 I mc'd in March, had lots of complications and am having an operation next week (in England) for Ashermans Syndrome. The thing that helped me most straight after my mc was this page of this site, it gives you a really good idea about recovery. The whole site is great, hit "home" and browse through the questions.

Tallybear How are you? We "met" some time ago. Regarding the wine, YES, it is mandatory along with chocolate for the entire WTF cycle. After that both become optional but highly recommended.Wink Grin

Orange I think I never said hello properly, sorry that you find yourself here. Hope your stays is not too long IYSWIM.

apple lovely news! Keep it up please!!

Pink nail biting chart Shock I have been looking at it for ages and keep changing my mind about day 16 or day 24 (as I am sure you have) This is the exact situation which makes so many people think that charting is "stressful" (actually its TTC that is stressful!) and the reason why all the books say that you need to chart for 2 or 3 months before you can accurately predict what is going on blah blah blah - like we can wait that long!! Anyway, I feel for you sweetie, this must be a very tense time. I hope it turns out to have been day 17 and its triphasic!Smile

mouse good to hear you are on the mend. I know you cant wait to ov and symptom spot (me too!), but use this time to gather your mental strength, you will need it for the 2WW mentalness that follows!

Dachs hello! Glad to hear things are moving forward for you. How are the doggies? xxx

Nix it will be funny being in the same time zone as you allSmile The weather doesnt sound so funny though. Thanks for the sticker tip! Fortunately DS has just developed a huge fascination for planes and helicopters, so I'm hoping this will make him a good flyer. Re: PCOS stuff. I have a PCOS book with a quiz in it which can help you identify if you need to seek diagnosis. Will post it in a mo.

Much love to everyone. I have asked Father Christmas to bring you all BFP's because you are all so lovely! xxx

AandRMum · 09/11/2010 23:53

velvet how many dpo are you? Dare I whisper Implantation Bleed - how great would that be!

goatsarefabthinksnix · 09/11/2010 23:04

Grin @ scattergun approach!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/11/2010 22:39

nicks and mouse fret ye not about age gaps, my DCs are 7 and 4 so there's going to be a sizeable gap between them and any DC3 that might (fx) come along. There are advantages to bigger age gaps, ladies, we will just have to embrace them

Urbanlolly · 09/11/2010 22:31

hairy So So sorry for your loss....you and your dp are in my thoughts at this dreadful time..... ((((()))))

goatsarefabthinksnix · 09/11/2010 22:18

bee what a good article. I now understand ashermans. What i also liked was it says there is a 75-85% of AS sufferers go on to have a successful pregnancy post surgery Grin Grin Grin mummy that must be why you are going to Lower. I so will be thinking of you next week. xxxxxxx

appletart so wonderful that you have seen a heartbeat Grin happy days Smile and i am so pleased you feel rough (meant in a nice way) the rougher you feel, the better for a couple of weeks anyway Grin Everything crossed for the next couple of weeks and then for the remaining 6 monthsxxxxx

bee intrigued by your mucas story!!! Is that to do with PCOS. pray tell! Great you have been researching, your doctor sounds like a twat btw IMHO! Do they not know what women have to go through to get pregnant, and then the added sodding heartache in the event of loss? You would think they would do everything they could in their power? Doesnt cost them anything to refer you does it.... sorry could rant for england.....!!! Great plan for bombarding them with information, hound them, make yourself a pest and they will eventually submit!!

(izz babes how are you? Gorgeous profile pic on bf btw! I too get your lingo... agree with Kat i now know all about biology... thanks to you lot!! (and Mummy) I feel empowered and a little bit scared and stressed by it. Therm not arrived yet so having a little break. Temps would be all over the place this week ayway as i have been up all night kept awake by DH coughing.... not impressed, given up smoking 9 months ago, started up again - TWAT! He choked on his pizza tonight when his MIL told him they would kill his sperm!! Grin Grin Grin

mouse glad you are feeling better re MRSA. We are similar arent we. Yes i do stress about age gap, but its out of my control.... doing my best. TBH if we are lucky enough to have another DS will be a bit older and will as such be more understanding of everything Grin Hmm

Me - well breaking from temps, and chomping at bit to start again. Its en route from amazon,so hopefully here in day or two. I have EWCM again!!! Neg stick! Will explore PCOS with doc when get a min to go back. yet. again. Going to assume fertile time starts in a day or two, & do it once every other day.

Bee DS again asked GP for a baby brother... keep it up son, put pressure on daddy!!

betwen hope your AF/BFP sorts self out soon, could just be cycles mucking about, hope not!

Babes any sign yet, of either?
