pretty congrats on the house-ownership. And on surviving IKEA. My DH & I have to set ground rules when we go there together, it's the only way to get out still liking each other

I'm off to a halloween party (for DS) and then to the cinema with a good friend in the evening. Am looking forward to the film and a bit of escapism. Not sure about the party, these things always bring out at least one newly pg person but mostly they don't bother me. My main concern is whether DS will cope with being a cat costume without peeing on it

Thank you mummya. I don't believe you're not the oracle but even if you're not you summarise what you've learnt in your research in a very easy to understand way. You're a star. Yes, had ewcm sat, sun and mon then started to get stickier and drier so that corresponds with opk and what felt like ov twinges. Don't feel like this will be my month but at least I know I gave it a good shot.

I'm glad you're getting some support about your ashernans research and hope you have some good news very soon.

Jamface I'm not really an oracle you know, I am just summarising TCOYF and FF most of the time So the twin gods of fertility (Toni and FF) say that the cervix opening thing is usually a gradual process over a few days as ov approaches, getting higher, softer and more open, but the once ov happens it should be a quick dramatic change to low,hard and shut. Makes sense as its all about letting in sperm and then keeping bacteria out. So yes, that would suggest you ovulated (congrats!) does it correspond with CM drying up/being not stretchy too? Temperatures and CM are considered primary fertility signs and cervix checking only secondary, so what the CM is doing is super important.

Sorry for not catching up much with everyone, I am up to my eyes in Ashermans research. Its such grim reading! At least I can read for more than 5 mins now without breaking out in a sweaty panic attack and bursting into tears, and thank god for MN I am starting to find lovely people with fantastic advice which is making it all seem a bit more manageable.

Hehe mummya your post reminded me of the really cool bit in tcoyf where she explains how sperm are made and at one stage they go to a swimming training camp for a few weeks, how cool is that?! I've got an image in my head of a giant sperm coaching little baby sperm swimming up and down lanes with little rubber rings on :)

I'm afraid I spent a bit of time in the doom pit today. Aside from my normal working day of wall to wall shite, found out a client has stolen my due date and she was talking about how much bigger she is than she was expecting to be etc etc :( :( dude who sits behind me had his wife's 20 week scan today, so can look forward to a world of scan photo pain on Monday... MIL says I need to put my trust in the universe cos it is never wrong... Er, ok then. Also am meeting up with a dear dear friend tomorrow but I'm actually dreading it cos she's keen for a big girlie catch up but the only thing I have achieved since I last saw her is a mc and what feels like endless weeks of ttc, so not sure what we're gonna talk about cos don't really want to get into that stuff :( anyway on the upside dh just called to say we're going out for dinner tonight :)

Is that a good indicator of ovulation? Bloody hope so, I don't think I can take much more

Hi Izzy, dont worry I think your FF Intercourse timing is going to say "GOOD" or "HIGH". Like everyone says in good CM conditions they can live for 5 days. Also I just learned about "sperm capacitation" today. Bascially newly ejaculated sperm arent ready to fertilise an egg straight away. They have to go through a process of change which takes several hours before they are able to bash their way into the egg. So its always better to have the sperm ready and waiting in advance for the egg to hatch. Looking for a nice link for you...

Nix I have no desire to know what the effects of alcohol on TTC are. (unless it says it helps loads ) Tell me when to avert my eyes before you post.
