The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

SingingMog · 16/11/2010 23:41

Dyna - how exciting to make an official bean! I hope it goes OK and you are not totally exhausted from work, your shifts sound knackering.

Dynababy · 16/11/2010 23:20

Oops can't spell, that should be shift and hopefully!

Dynababy · 16/11/2010 23:18

PMSL at the ongoing experiment BB and TTL how on earth did it not hift after that lot!!?? I'm amazed and a wee bit worried!

Poor Nervous I'm sure it will happen soon,
keep the faith in the face of annoying news!

Not much happening with me other than working 12 hour days and being on call overnight and wondering how I'll cope if bean sticks and I go back (which I need to!!)or even if I start to get sickness or fatigue etc in preg ... hmmm hadn't considered but need loot must work Confused Oh but docs on Thursday evening (if i can get away for work in time for 19:00 appointment) to hopfully make the little bean official Grin

SingingMog · 16/11/2010 23:12

LOL - cross-posted so missed the prunes experiment BB - love it! TTL, it sounds like you need some too Grin Have you tried laying on your back and hugging your knees up to your chest? It is called the wind-relieving pose in yoga!! You'll have to do it before you get massive though, otherwise carrying out the instruction "knees up to your chest" will be impossible.

Gah Nervous, can imagine it is hard to know what to feel. I agree that you should get the new TT album Smile and here is a hug .

SingingMog · 16/11/2010 23:05

Argh, too much to catch up with... I will try my best tho Smile

Vallinna sounds like you're having a rollercoaster of a time at the moment. Sorry about your aunt, that is awful and so sudden. I hope her son (I think that is what you put a few pages back) is coping as well as he can. Pleased to hear about your lining though. It has made me sing "Hey, ho. silver lining" in my head. I am so cringeworthy sometimes Grin Well done with the first injection!

Josie glad to hear you might be getting somewhere with the yard. I too am horrendous at the doctors (even fainting when they take my bloodpressure), so I am trying not to think about what will happen if the TTC works out. Hope your Nana recovers quickly from the op.

Thank you for your charts BB, my temps are definitely very dodgy (lower now on CD15 & last few days than ever before). Maybe I need a new thermometer.... Confused

Not sure what I think about the fbk baby-jacking. It is a bit of a weird way to let people know about upduffment. Plus I am "friends" with some sixth-formers and I don't fancy sharing too much of that kind of stuff with them.

NMCB, I hope your brain hasn't totally melted, I like to read your posts!

In other news I think I ovved on CD11, meaning I am now 4DPO and keep making up symptoms. Asked DH if my boobs look bigger (think he liked this cos I was practically poking them in his face). I knew I would be rubbish on the 2ww and not even supposed to be trying until Feb.... oh well!!

takethatlady · 16/11/2010 22:46

Brilliant news vallinna, you are a stronger lady than me :)

Let me know about the prunes brassica. I've resigned myself to fortnightly business and pain in between, 'cos even two cucumbers, a punnet of cherry tomatoes, three raw carrots, two litres of berry smoothies and fybro-gel didn't make a difference to me Wink

Oh nervous I feel your pain. But you'll be next, and then your baby will be the youngest and most glamorous of the lot.

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 16/11/2010 22:03

Ah yes BB it would. Except for the fact OH only has this Thurs/fri off and is working next week. In London. 400 miles away. So I may as well be on the 8WW.

. Grin

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 21:49

Pesky friends nervous I'm sure it's difficult to be Grin and Envy at the same time. Yeah for week off though. By my basic maths though, it lands perfectly for JSing? Wink

I'm doing a not at all scientific experiment to see how many prunes it gets to get "things" moving. I ate 10 about 5o'clock and so far I'm farting like a trouper Blush but nothing else Grin I'll keep you posted. Something I'm sure you will all be grateful for Grin

NervousNelly · 16/11/2010 20:50

Evening all. Firstly Vallinapod so sorry to hear about your DH's aunt :(. As you say, it's amazing (in a bad way) how someone can be gone in a blink of an eye. (((Hugs))) from me.

Everyone else seems in good spirits! TTL I've no idea how you cope with such rude nobs demanding intellectuals Hmm.

I've had a weird few days. At the weekend we spent Saturday evening with friends and their 7 week old baby. Then on Sunday another couple came round for brunch with their boys (1 and 3). Was lovely to see them all, but was feeling a bit about the fact that all our friends, with only one exception, now have kids. Fast forward to about an hour ago when said "exception" phoned my OH, and (no prizes for guessing), announced his girlfriend was up-duffed. Envy and :( but also, of course :) for them.

So we literally have no friends left who aren't pregnant or parents . We're the only ones left. Top that with having spent a day doing physical labour at a work "community" day, I'm knackered, tearful, and only on CD3. Meh and Double Meh.

On the plus side, only one day at work then off for a week and a half. Hurrah Grin. Might buy myself the TT album to cheer myself up Wink.

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 20:40

Yeah for mainlining self-injecting vallinna! Grin That's a huge achiement! I hope it gets easier for you Smile

vallinnapod · 16/11/2010 20:38

Just done my first injection! It really is a piddley amount (50 somethings...def not ml Grin) and a tiny needle. Thank the lord! I only procrastinated for about 5 minutes. It helps that I am by myself therefore had no one to get worked up with!

takethatlady · 16/11/2010 20:30

Awww thanks brassica, you're pretty witty and clever yourself. And probably together some of the time Grin

Oooh nmcb you have proper taste in music. Sometimes I wish I did too Wink

Loving the chocolate and cheese roll dinners ladies. Sounds like we're all taking the health-in-pregnancy-and-ttc advice very seriously!

Back to Neighbours and my high-salt, high-fat dinner and milk I'm swigging out of the bottle Grin

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 20:02

I doubt very much your class was idiotic takethat! They don't give jobs like yours to just anyone! We've experienced a witty, intellectual, together viroid since we've known you. Ok, maybe not "together" Grin

Well, alcohol free pear cider is gross, disgusting, rank. The alcohol free rose wine is so far passable. Although too sweet. But then I've got a stinking cold Hmm so this viewpoint may change Grin I did use real cider when cooking dinner this evening. I have to confess I did neck the last 300 100ml! Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 16/11/2010 19:56

Nice call TTL, to the pompous student, as you well know I couldn't give a foggest about the real TT. Am totally gutted that Shihad keep banging on about their tour of NZ and OZ with no mention of the UK! Oh put that kipper away! Grin

Miffles I bought a big tin of roses last week and have hidden them somewhere DH will never find . Mind you he's made me a cheese and mayo roll for my dinner and I don't have the heart to tell him there is basically no mayo and tastes revolting.

takethatlady · 16/11/2010 19:48

Chocolate for dinner miffles Grin and Envy

DH is in Dublin so I'm not bothering cooking and I've got ready meals. Wish I had thought of chocolate!

To be honest, the student was right. My classes are idiotic Grin. Just glad I thought of something clever-sounding to say to him. Think he's upset he didn't get in to Oxbridge so probably I should reassure him he'll be fine regardless, especially as he's right about my lack of intellectual powers!

Probably I was talking pregnancy babble of which I was unaware too.

Hope everyone else is alright :)

Miffles · 16/11/2010 18:33

I think you response on here was more succinct TTL! Can't wait to hear the new album - told my DH today that we are getting it. May try and wait til Christmas though.

PMSL at your ring tone in fancy pants lecture!

How is your nana doing now she's had the op Josie - is she having a reconstruction? My mum had a mastectomy in 2002 for breast cancer. Not nice at all, but sounds like the family is rallying round.

Popped to see my sister after work. My niece (not the new one, she's from my SIL!) is 19 months now and so adorable. She was laughing and laughing and says some words now. Bright as a button!

Right - since I was home late and DH out I have just eaten chocolate for dinner. Envy That is me now feeling bit icky. I was given a big box of Thorntons last week. Promised to save them til Christmas and only have a handful left! Think I'll go and make Dh dinner and mess a bowl up and say I ate some before he was home!

Hope the lurkers are all doing ok....Wink Grin Feel free to keep us up-to-date with all non-JSing and pg related news items/gossip.

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 18:09

Grin Nice riposte ttl Grin

takethatlady · 16/11/2010 18:02

Hoooow can you wait... Grin

I tentatively suggested that he had misunderstood the content of the seminar, and that far from being 'self-indulgent' and talking about whether we liked this or that character in the novel we were considering the ways in which particular characters act as vehicles for the intellectual arguments of the book and how their symbolic roles and structural positions within it might conflict with or support those intellectual arguments. And we were talking about the ways in which the text makes it impossible for readers to form moral judgments about characters since they are only ever accessible to us through a variety of conflicting, ironic and compromised perspectives, and since morality appears as in the text as a luxury of wealth and not an essential, metaphysical fact.

That shut the little shit up Grin

PS - josie, so sorry to hear about your nana but she sounds like an absolute tower of strength! Glad you can be there for her xxx

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 17:53

takethat I'd have punched the pompous student! HmmGrin How did you answer?

Sister is 130 miles away like most of my family. Sometimes it's too far, sometimes it's too close! Wink

I've got the TT album on my christmas list so I'll just have to wait a while longer...

takethatlady · 16/11/2010 17:47

Hello ladies,

I've only been lurking since Saturday as I've got nothing much to say (symptoms on and off. Freak out when they're on, freak out again when they're off. Try not to freak. Horrible dreams about being diagnosed with horrendous illnesses at scan, and nice ones about shagging Jason Orange, who is AMAZING in bed Blush). But you guys have posted so much you dropped off my 'Threads I'm On'!

So I'm back again. Hard to remember all that's happened but vallinna I am so sorry for your aunt and for her son. I really really hope it's better news than you are expecting. And whoop whoop for the lining. Now you can shove a baby in it and see what happens Grin

bb are you close to your sister? Do you live nearby? How amazing it will be that your babies will be only a couple of weeks apart (fingers crossed, touch wood). Hope you get to tell her that hot cooked prawns are not going to kill her soon :)

Sorry for the feckers and hello to the noobs.

Has anyone heard the new Take That album? It's AMAZING. Although I've changed my ringtone to one of the tracks and it went off in a seminar today. I was talking about the literary marketplace and whether or not it is corrupting of literary production, so having a manufactured pop band blaring out of my phone took the conversation down a whole new line.

In a previous class today, a student came up and asked me the following question: 'can I just ask when these seminars are going to become intellectually rigorous?' I should have given him the honest answer. NEEEVEEERR (mwoo haha) Grin

Done my (late) supermarket run for this week. Bunged in a packet of pregnacare vitamins to upgrade from the preconception one. Well fuck me, £13!! Ggggrrr!! Should have paid more attention at the shelf....

Truffkin · 16/11/2010 15:48

Wow there's loads going on here today, have spent my lunch break catching up Grin

Vallinna so sorry to hear about your husband's Aunt. It's so hard to manage your grief when you are also in shock from the suddeness of it. Look after eachother. I'm pleased you have positive IVF developments to focus on though, I agree with the others that I would be very Confused (that's my squeamish face!) about the injections but think DH would be even worse so I'd have to do them myself.

Miffles it could be your month, have you any idea if you ovulated or is it just guess work? That's the bit I enjoy about charting (although the baby fail each month when you know you've done everything right is a big come down so there is that side to it!) am keeping everything crossed for you that you get a BFP or ERTD soon so you know where you're at.

Josie good luck with the yard news and here's to a productive month in December for you. Loving your new chilled attitude to TTC.

Am with you guys on the Facebook thing although not sure how I would feel if I had my own news to shout about Grin one of my friends had a scan picture up yesterday from 20 weeks (I agree that they look a bit alien-like, especially the 3D ones) and I had a PM from another friend telling me she is pg with number two! I'm out with a group of friends at the weekend, three of whom are pregnant so that will be fun!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 16/11/2010 13:22

I want to post but my brain isn't working well.

So sorry to hear about you DH's Aunt Vallinna, though hurray for moving onto the jabby drugs, here's to an upduff VPod very soon.

Love, babydust and happy horsey dust to everyone esle before my brain totally melts.

vallinnapod · 16/11/2010 12:37

Josie fingers crossed for your Grandma. Good they caught it and have done something about it xxxxxx
