The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Right, well, having just used Superdrug and got my LSP I do not trust it so am going to buy a digi for tomorrow morning.

Reckon you need a pack of cheapies to begin with. If that's a BFP though you're gonna need a digi on top.

I promise I don't work for the preg test companies Smile

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 10:53

Ha ha, well TakeThat you can slap me too, I am going to ask which tests I should buy at asda tonight should ERTD stay away Grin

They do their own, plus the usual digi ones but don't know which one is best

takethatlady · 15/10/2010 10:47

Hey josie, yep, once I took a test apart and got a positive. Believed for a day I was pregnant, even went to the doctors and had blood tests.

The next cycle I took a test I thought was positive apart and it immediately went more positive. It was a BFP that time though (though it didn't stick).

Confession: once I'd peed on the second stick yesterday I took apart the first one. Sometimes you can't tell if it's a shadow or a line!

But I promise I won't take apart the one with an actual line on it Grin

Now I deserve another slap Grin

OP posts:
takethatlady · 15/10/2010 10:45

Oh nelly I forgot to respond to your post :) You cracked! You can hit me with a kipper again but what you need are Superdrug tests - they're 10 miu/ml.

I really deserve a slap.

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 10:44

TakeThat was it you who used to take tests apart? Just remembered that Grin

NervousNelly · 15/10/2010 10:40

brassica. We're here for you

Glad I've given you all a laughGrin. Woke up this morning convinced the red fecker was here. Sore tummy and I thought I felt activity down there, if you see what I mean Wink. anyway false alarm, which is just as well as it's only CD23 Hmm

takethatlady · 15/10/2010 10:39

Good luck brassica. All my fingers and toes are crossed.

josie PMSL at the mushroom craving :) You sound like Alice in Wonderland! V excited for you and your day of fecker-avoidance. brassica I haven't tested again as I'm out of tests!!! Feck. Working from home and the Tesco in my village has the cheek not to sell pg tests, so I'm stuck til later. I'm also going out for cocktails ... Hmm But last night's line is still there. DH agrees the line is there. He says I'm not pregnant and to stop being mental. Then he says I'm not allowed cocktails Wink

My only symptom, which I've had before and not been pg, is sore boobs. Actually, my boobs are HUNGRY. Does anyone else have this? My tummy is hungry at the moment, and it feels empty and sore, and my boobs feel exactly the same, like there's a little hungry stomach filling up each one of them. Maybe I'll slap some mushrooms on them, see what happens Grin

Anyway, aside from hungry boobs and a promising-looking test I'm still reserving caution. It could definitely be that I am not pregnant as I have cocked up many a test in my time - barely a cycle has gone by without me thinking I'm pregnant when I'm not.

Grapefruit juice is only allowed if you slip a vodka shot into it!

Hge hugs Brassica

BrassicaBabe · 15/10/2010 10:13

GP rining me back with blood pg test results after morning surgery. I know what the results will be but feel sick anyway.

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 09:51

PMSL Nervous! You?re exactly the same as me! I?ve done that loads of times, and I always get embarrassed and hide it for some reason, except I can?t hide it for long. Although I?m fixed now Hmm I don?t use them until ERTD is late, which it never is Biscuit

Thanks Hedgeblunder, fingers crossed for today! Hope your DPs friend is ok, what an awful way to be dumped!

NoMore you mushroom pizza sounds gorgeous! I never thought I?d hear myself say that! Going out for an italian with bro and his gf soon (had an awful dream last night that bro had died this week and I was so upset when I woke up I decided we should all go out) so may have to have yet another mushroom pizza Shock

Cremegg sorry ERTD arrived Sad

Hope you?re feeling better Brassica (I just typed ramekin there instead of Brassica Shock)

Today is the day! I will be rushing backwards and forwards to loo to check if ERTD has arrived Grin HTK I will be up early so if no ERTD today (which I will tell you of immediately if it does arrive) I will POAS first thing and come straight on and tell you, I promise! Either way, have a fab time in Egypt and don?t let red fecker spoil your fun Grin

BrassicaBabe · 15/10/2010 09:06

Wow! You lot were up late last night! Most unusual.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. ( josie hugs) I agree with the "not posting on the main board" advice too. I'm dying to ask where I am in my cycle and can I expect a big mc bleed at any point. But I just know the type of answers I'd get; just relax, it'll happen, don't count CDs, don't use OPKs blah blah. I can't face that. So I'm staying put here!

takethat Any news missus?! I'm sure you've POanotherS by now! Grin Come one girl!

Welcome KC It sounds like you are a JSing expert! Grin

You know who you are!

Yeah vallinna for your drug sniffing! Grin It seems you are not the only one to have had to change fertility clinic then. KC it's crazy that you've both had to do this. You really should be able to expect more from these people Hmm

PMSL for nervous and her pee-dash! Grin

Oh yes hedge we really use ramekins there BlushShock Some viroids have even been known to go shopping for ramekin based food stuffs for the direct purpose of peeing in!!

Sorry about red-fecker creme Grin for wine breakfast....

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 15/10/2010 09:03

Right you can get the kipper away from me now (unless it's cooked in a pie). Back to feeling turgid today. I'm just being paranoid the closer the 5 week mark gets.

Josie I'm making pizza for dinner tonight and you guessed it, lots of mushroom... Grin

Blush at Vallinna being on to me ... (turns out lack of nausea is good for something GrinWink)

Hedge have you not realised the only reason Gu puds exsist is so that viroids across the land can pee into the ramekins?! Grin

Have to drag my arse out of the house today. Wish me luck getting DS to wear something other than his pyjama pants for a change.

cremegg · 15/10/2010 08:33

thought i should point out its 6pm here not 8:30am!... brekkie would be a tad early for wine!

friday eve = wine time :o

HarderToKidnap · 15/10/2010 06:54

Hi viroids,

BB - oh, mate. I'm sorry. That's shit.

Woo!! TTL!! That is a LINE!!

Welcome, noobs.

Getting VERY excited about Josie's POAS moment...Josie, I am going on hollibobs 11am tomorrow. Please could you POAS by then and put the result up? (If red fecker doesn't arrive, obv)

As for me, body is doing stupid things which is very irritating as did I mention my five star trip to Egypt I am taking tomorrow? Still just a little brown discharge - that is six days worth now. BFN when PIAR. WHERE is AF??? Obviously she will come in the pool. On my holiday (did I mention my holiday?) Also I want the clock to hurry up and reset so we can start JSing again...

I can't believe I have only been trying to concieve for a month. I have aged about 100 years.

Hedgeblunder · 14/10/2010 23:25

X-posts nelly sorry! Did you really use a ramikin?!
Hopefully you have just tested way too early and late in the day.
Maybe you should only get a wrist slap with a very small kipper?

Hedgeblunder · 14/10/2010 23:18

Good luck josie- I hope you are too!

KC11-thanks! I really like it on here,it can be brutal on other topics but conception is really supportive and friendly.

No JS-ing tonight for me, Dp's best friend has rocked up having been dumped by email so they're pickling themselves in gin for the next four hours or so!
Night night all x

NervousNelly · 14/10/2010 23:08

Right, I have fully succumbed to the mentalness made a right t!t of myself. I'll share so you can laugh/kipper-slap me as appropriate.

All this testing was making me jealous. Am only 9DPO, but I have a stack of cheapie internet tests upstairs. OH was out (still at work, after a 15 hour day Angry) so I decided, as I needed a pee, I may as well PIAR Blush.

Well firstly - it's tricky! And messy . So having washed my hands, decided to use one of my strips "for the practice". Hmm. Really, that is why I'd convinced myself I was doing it.

Anyway, set the timer and went off to the kitchen to fill hot water bottle, leaving a ramekin full of pee and an obvious looking PG test in the bathroom. Thought I'd calmly stack the dishwasher whilst the timer was counting down, except OH came home Shock. So I legged it upstairs, shouting "gotta pee" back at him as my explanation for running away from him rather than welcoming him home with a kiss and a hug Blush.

Emptied pee down toilet, washed ramekin, hid test wrapper etc; quickly checked even though a minute early, then threw it all in the bin Shock.

Just to be clear, OH knows we are JSing Wink. But didn't want him to know I was testing as a) it's so early b) it's the first one I've ever done and c) errr, for some reason I was embarrased Blush. Must get over that, as I'm not exactly 15 any more.

Oh and after all that, of course it was a BFN. Durrrr. But I'm about to get out of bed and rake it out of the bin, just to check again Wink. Not really.

Josie, turns out you are right not to keep the cursed thing in the house Hmm.

vallinnapod · 14/10/2010 22:56

Gotta go to bed as need to get a run in tomorrow. Just wanted to insanely symptom spot! Clearly not PG symptoms but ovulation ones...yeah, I know....any way. Bit twingy where I assume my ovaries to be and really spotty chin/mouth.

It all means nothing no I have started my pill again but more poor body must be completely fucked-up!

Any way, just adding to the random obsessings!

Night-night to those sleeping, and naughty-naughty to those JSing Wink

KC11 · 14/10/2010 22:42

Good luck with this cycle Miffles. If you have any questions let me know. I feel like i could write a book on all the information i've gathered. I made a good friend at the previous clinic. she lives near me and we've been through the same treatments at more or less the same time. She helps me keep a grip on reality and we try to sort out the problems we get with DHs who just don't know how rubbish we feel somtimes. You may get some headached with the down regulation drugs (suppressors) drink lots of water it wwill help. as soon as you start the stimulating drugs after the first 7-14 days the headaches stop. Good luck darling girl. Thinking of you and your DH/DP.

JosieSmith1 · 14/10/2010 22:39

Cross-post Milano, yes it was awful, very very difficult period in my life but I believe what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and me and DH got through it together and it really cemented our relationship. People say if you can survive something like that together you can survive anything.

This time seems to be the hardest for me- ERTD due tomorrow, just wish I could know either way (without PingOAS, they always disappoint Grin)

milanomum · 14/10/2010 22:39

vallinna - sorry, I missed your post - good luck tomorrow! all so scientific Confused

KC11 · 14/10/2010 22:38

Hedgeblunder We're hoping to fit in a cycle of ICSI before the New Year. Cost over £6000. It will hopefully be worth it. Changing to another clinic as the previous one was rubbish at answering their phones and getting back to you on anything. and hubby is convinced they messed up our last cycle. Although we had a blastocyst embryo transferred on day 5, the other 5 embryos were somehow not checked on when they should have been and that was the end of that. hubby is certain that the clinic should have frozen them on the day we had the other one transferred back inside me. We'll never know but we're changing clinics. Had our first appointment and there's no waiitng list to delay us. So we should be good for starting drugs for down regulation in early November hopefully. The whol process take about 6 weeks. So it's touch and go whether we can get the cycle in before Christmas. we'll find out more at appmnt on 28 October.

I love your name. It's great. There are some very comical people on here with a great sense of humour.

Welcome to the thread to you too.

Time for sleep now. Knackered. been to work today. Busy day ahead tomorrow. Several projects coming to and end tomorrow and must happen as my butt will get royally kicked it any one of them goes wrong. Goodnight.

JosieSmith1 · 14/10/2010 22:36

PMSL Nervous. I think exactly the same about mushrooms but all this week I have wanted mushrooms on a pizza, any type of pizza would do, have had pizza with mushrooms sunday, monday, tuesday and tonight Shock I'm a very unhealthy eater! But now the smell of the leftovers is knocking me sick (another sign methinks Grin)

I really don't wanna admit this as I'm bound to be disappointed tomorrow, but god I hope I'm pg. The timing would be absolutely perfect.

Anyway, off to join Nervous in her quest for symptoms
