The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Loving the Halloween emoticons Grin

Nelly you weren't insensitive at all! Whatever we are all going through it is tough for each one of us! Not quite $20k but if we don't get on their special programme it will be about £6500 - eekkk! Who needs holidays anyway?! Thanks for the story about your sister...I like hearing these things Grin

Frak DH VERY keen on twins....being the one who doesn't have to carry them 'n' all! I am sort of...one maternity leave for two babies would leave me feeling a little cheated Wink If we get the option we will have to embryos put back (fingers crossed we make some!) but if you are at risk from ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome they will one put one in as PG accelerates it.

frakkinstein · 18/10/2010 18:06

Needle through fanjo wall? Owwwww.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/10/2010 17:20

Have decided that my laziness this afternoon is balanced out by the fact I was going to walk into town to buy cornflour to make a lemonmeringue pie. Didn't get the exercise, but also not getting the sugar filled pie, so I'm fine [hgrin]

(Yes I've found the halloween emoticons. I especially like the hangry one. The spelling makes me think of TTL's hungry boobs . Hope you don't get hangry boobs)

Owie for your needle in the fanjo Vallinna. Mine went crossed eyed just reading about it! [hblush] -with crossed watering eyes

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/10/2010 17:13

Ohh TTL we're on milestone watch together tomorrow. [hgrin]

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 16:50

Whoops, retrospectively added miffles in the wrong place :)

Oh vallina sorry for being so insensitive. Yours is a much tougher road :(. I'm sure it's of no comfort whatsoever, but I have a gorgeous IVF nephew. He turns 6 months this week and he's amazing! I think it was all a bit painful for my sister, I won't lie. But she'd definitely argue it was worth it in the end :)

Also - because of where she lives, she went to the US for her treatment, so had to buy flights, hotels etc on top of medical bills. I think the cost was $20k+ Shock. I sincerely hope the UK is a bit cheaper than that???? If not, we'll all start searching for loose change down the back of the sofa to help you out :)

Sorry for the diatribe Blush.

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 16:49

Oh those people are so annoying vallinna. Two girls from my class at school have four children (each, obviously). We're 28! Shock How have they had the time? They just pop them out, usually by accident, whenever they feel like it Grin Grrrr....

Needle through the wall of the vagina sounds fucking terrible, but not as bad as human through the wall of the vagina, which is basically what we're all (crazily?) hoping for on here!

Last cycle I got a very very very faint BFP on 11DPO followed by a 'Pregnant 1-2 weeks' on 12DPO. Lost it at 16DPO and looking back the signs were there from 14 DPO.

Miffles This time I'm slightly less sure where I am, since I think I got the very very very faint BFP on 9DPO (and boobs were hurting 8DPO). But the thick positive line I got on the Tesco test on Saturday (11DPO) way surpasses anything I got last cycle. It's the clearest BFP I've ever had and makes me think I'm further along than I thought. If not, I'm only 13DPO Still, I'll be happier if I make it past tomorrow as that'll be 5 days since BFP and that's when I lost it last time, if that makes sense?

If Pee on a Doughnut refers to a ring doughnut that sounds like a sport! Or an art form!

Afternoon all, here I am getting jealous of people who have periods....oh well, 2 and a bit weeks and I get a fake one and then the fun begins Confused

Read all about the egg collection at the w/e...let's just say, when the nurse told me it was seda5tion not general anaesthetic I Shock but then he told me it contained something that makes you forgot. Can't remember what it is called but sound exactly like when they reduced my elbow back after I dislocated it - I refer it it as my rhohynol moment Grin I queased at 'needle through wall of vagina' - have my legs clamped together as I type. Been very pensive about it all...not just shed loads of hormones, needles, invasion etc but the stupid amounts of money too. All of which will seem negiliable if it results in a baby but astronomical if BFN Sad Must stop worrying about something I have little control over.

Pissed off with FB today. School friends talking about trying to get kids into secondary schools. This is even more Shock when you consider we are all 29/30!! Still I'm thinking they may have had the right idea Wink My year was ridiculous...2 girls had babies at 14 and I swear me and 4 of my friends are pretty much the only ones left now without kids!!

NervousNelly · 18/10/2010 16:20

haha miffles he is away with the boys - not sure I'd want to gatecrash Wink. I'll just have to jump him the second he comes in the door Grin.

I'm with you re the head in sand. But the period pains are hard to ignore

Miffles · 18/10/2010 15:47

Oh Nelly - I feel your pain. I am dashing to the loo every hour as I'm still spotting. But only on the wipe - so pretending it's not really happening yet.

Can you stash yourself in DH's suitcase and go with him? Kind of like a conjigal (sp) visit...

NervousNelly · 18/10/2010 15:30

Meh.... Good news/bad news Angry

Good news - if I am back to CD1 tomorrow or the next day as I expect, my due date WOULD be before my 37th birthday :)

Bad news - OH is away for 3 or 4 days next weekend, which will be in the days leading up to OV.

Fuckity fuck fuck fuck.

NervousNelly · 18/10/2010 15:19

Afternoon viroids. Another busy day at the office I see Grin

Well miffles and milano I nearly cracked this morning, even went as far as PIAR. But (TMI alert) then when I wiped, the tissue looked a bit too colourful. :( So I didn't even take the strip out of the packet. Put on my period pants, and sure enough next toilet break I have proper spotting. Well actually it's more brown sludge (again, TMI Blush) but that's prime sign that ERTD is on it's way for me Angry.

I shouldn't be cross or upset, as really this is the first month I could have expected a BFP (last month I think I ov'd early). But hell I'm impatient, and cranky and old, and now, apparently, full of PMT Hmm.

Not quite CD1 for me, and of course I'll be hanging by the fingernails to Milano's suggestion, but I suspect it's game over for this month. The only thing that is really upsetting slighly annoying is that, I think, this would have been my last chance to have a baby before I turn 37. Though haven't done a due date calculator for a CD1 starting lets say tomorrow, so will go and do that now. I might just sneak in before the deadline Wink.

Hope you are all having a good day. On the plus side, there is an unopened bottle of red with my name on it :)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/10/2010 14:04

Miffles DH definately knows, but we're not admitting to it yet. It's bloody hard though! I've told DH that all going well I'll be presenting him with a cigar and officially telling him I'm upduffed on Tuesday morning.

Not sure I like the idea of peeing on a dragon, to many flames.

TTL stop poking your boobs! They'll be black and blue soon. Ow!!

Miffles · 18/10/2010 13:55

TTL - when did you lose your BFP last time?

Miffles · 18/10/2010 13:52

POAS, not POAD...what would that stand for anyway? POADragon? POADoughnut?

Miffles · 18/10/2010 13:51

pmsl at stick pushing!! We need to watch out, BB may start lurking outside doctor surgery's in a long beige mac!

NMCB - sadly I don't have a "normal" cycle...AF tends to come after about 12-23 days. Today is CD23, so longest it's been for a while. But not exactly hopeful for a BFP!

And what do you mean about doing a proper POAD announcement for DH - does he not know yet?!

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 13:46

PSML at stick-pushing by the way.

I am a greedy stick-guzzling customer and I'll give you a good price Grin

OP posts:
takethatlady · 18/10/2010 13:45

Pee which looks like tea? Milky tea or brown tea Grin? Seriously though, what do you mean?!

Sorry miffles I am a bad influence Grin

Thanks nomore! Glad things are going well for you too atm. I think I'm going to buy some sticks on the way home. There's a Sainsbury's en route. I tried to go there this morning but there was an inconvenient traffic jam on the other side of the road which prevented me, and which I temporarily thought was a sign I should bloody well stop testing. If only I'd bought 100 tests

OP posts:
milanomum · 18/10/2010 13:28

Miffles - yes, from Amazon Jungle!

I'm not at all thirsty. Have to force myself to drink more because then I get scared by pee which looks like tea Confused

Brassica are you going to get into stick pushing?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/10/2010 13:09

Ohh TTL being thirsty is good! You need to take on lots of extra liquid because your body needs to make your bladder work overtime up the volume of blood you have. when is ERTD/AF due Miffles?

Envy at CE (and half the people I know) going on about Spring time. It's not like you have real Winter's in Oz anyway.
I wouldn't worry about your short period though. Mine a like that sometimes. It's if you have a short luteal phase that you really have to worry about.

Nothing much doing here. Might get another pee stick this afternoon for tomorrow morning so that I can do a proper POAS announcement for my DH and make it official, but then I may just save my money and not (or I could break into Brassica's house and steal a couple of hers, it's not like she'll miss them!).

Miffles · 18/10/2010 13:04

omg....you cannot tell me that TTL!!! It is like that exactly - I reach to change gear and my back clicks. Breathe in too deeply, small click. Have always been clicky, but this has been lots more in last week. AAAaaahh!!!

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 12:38

brassica 100 tests! That has to be a record Grin I won't have the ebay ones in the house because then I pee on them two or three times a day even before ovulation. I think, 'it can't hurt, just to pee on one little stick, and they're so cheap'. So now I am spending a fortune on paranoia peeing at £2 (and sometimes £7) a pop.

milano I'm not hungry but I'm thirsty all the time. My lips are dry, my voice keeps cracking when I talk. I can't drink enough! And miffles I shouldn't tell you this but that is definitely a symptom. My DH only has to press my upper back very lightly and it clicks all over the place. It's relaxin, getting ready to move your joints for holding a sprog and pumping it out.

cremegg I am so with you on that babies everywhere thing. It's autumn here but that doesn't make it any better. TV is all about babies. Friends are all having babies. Babies are on every single feckin' advert on TV. Everybody in town is pregnant or pram-pushing. Urgh! Just console yourself that soon you'll be one of them.

My boobs hurt again thank fuck. Still not sure it'll all stick, though, so off to forage for nuts...

Hope you all had a nice weekend, glad you're feeling better bb :)

Miffles · 18/10/2010 11:30

Had missed that Nelly was spotting but red-fecker had not arrived...how's things today? When are you going to cave in and test?!

milano - was the pre-seed from amazon?

milanomum · 18/10/2010 11:18

Hullo!
Welcome dynababy I'm saying nothing, but I used Pre-seed (did I mention that before? Wink) last month and now I'm pregnant.Maybe it works, maybe I was lucky...
TTL and nomorechoc glad things are going well for you both - sticky thoughts!

BB hurrah! glad you have orientated yourself again! Lots of luck!

Nelly I thought my spotting was the red-fecker...

Miffles I feel for you m'dear - Last cycle I was so completely "meh" about it all. Sending you loads of positivity and big hugs.
I'm STARVING. ALL THE FECKING TIME. Not good. Will be ginormous before long.

cremegg · 18/10/2010 11:03

hey all!! wow 6 pages ( i wrote pgs but realised that could be misleading!) is lots to catch up on! hope all well!

congrats to TTL :o

how are you doing BB?

{waves} hello newbies :o

ERTD has practically gone already (since fri... so pretty sure my cycle is pretty close to few others here) Am now worried fri-mon is too short?!

Don't know whether to break rules and try lots of these remedies and temp chart jobbies as think i may get even more obsessed... got some ov sticks tho. was gonna try FF, but loving hedge's opinion on that, lol!

its bloody spring here (obv great for weather) but feck me EVERYHING has a baby at the mo! birds in nests (much to my cats' joy!), tadpoles, emus and koalas (all very cute i admit and was excited to see, but is a tad ironic when on AF!)

how u doing josie? hope that hairs looking fab again after riding hat! hehe

must dash, DH keeps trying to read thread! (acronyms getting better of him though!)
