The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Urgh...feeling negative today. Nothing's changed, but found some scary stats on a random website. Like only 9% chance of getting pg...Stoopid me for looking and even giving it an ounce of credance. Roll on Monday...

Your dog crapping story did make me laugh, BB. Just as well you don't have the big dog that is scared of a little dog...might have been more crap to clear up!!

I was kind of hoping that the timed shagging would help - focus the mind and at least know we were doing something constructive. Maybe I shouldn't expect it to go too smoothly then... BB are you using OPKs? Do you have PCOS too?

TTL - I will SO buy the tickets off you if you can't go!! I went to see TT in Cardiff last year (or year before? Can't remember) the Circus tour. Was so amazingly brilliant. Did you hear them on Radio 1 this morning?

milanomum · 27/10/2010 14:32

Miffles lovely dress - very glam!
I had the 'meh' month and then got pregnant. Not that they are connected of course but still...
BB I love dogs and Springers are just so...springy and energetic! Great practice for a toddler I reckon Wink LOL at the crapping!

I'm just in denial for the moment and like TTL waiting for the 8 week mark before i tell someone... 6 weeks today though :)

hope everyone's ok!
x

frakkinstein · 27/10/2010 13:31

We do need to carry more of the into the grads thread.

I don't feel baby movement. Meh. Meh. Meh.

Worked for conception though. 'If I fall this month, I'll be first trimsester all holiday and it might just arrive at the end of the second teaching semester and you're away a lot....Meh'

2 weeks later.

'Ooops'.

Puppy sounds super-cute Brassica - hope the bigger one isn't terrorising too much!

Good luck with getting some JS action in, nelly.

takethatlady · 27/10/2010 13:02

Loving the 'meh' attitude

Actually I'm feeling calm. The tiny bit of spotting went nowhere, and I took another pregnancy test and it said Pregnant 3+ weeks, which is the first time it's ever said that, so feel okay. Had to be at work early today but definitely going to the doctor's tomorrow. On Friday I'll be buying TT tickets for a concert I won't be able to attend because I'll be in labour. But it feels like tempting fate not to buy them, like I'll not buy them and then something will go wrong.

You're meant to go overdue with your first baby anyway, right? So maybe I'll be still preggo and able to go.

LOVE the dress miffles.

Afternoon all.

Working from home today so free to MN without anyone looking over my shoulder.

CD11 and maybe the madness is building. I have ov'ed the last 2 cycles on CD12.

I have to say I hate the timed shagging. But then I find myself feeling cross if DH doesn't fancy it. I have this row in my head that goes "Well, I don't mind you not fancying it, but can you please decide this 10 days ago before I fill my body with heavy chemicals and hormones that are potentially dangerous to me??!" Angry Of course, I say nothing and try to look sexy! Grin

Oh, and fancy a laugh? This morning big dog woofed loudly. So little dog crapped on me!! [hgrin] Hmm

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/10/2010 11:06

I whole heartedly support the meh attitude to TTC. That was me last month and, well you know the rest (oh go on poke your tongues out and give me the fingers, you're all entitled too Grin)

I was going to come in an throw around the baby dust I found in the lining of my (now defunct) shag cape, but that seems a bit inapropriate (sp?) today, so instead I'll just spike everyone's drink with it instead [hgrin]

NervousNelly · 26/10/2010 22:04

Not really Miffles. Thing is I actually had LESS spotting than I normally get, which is what was confusing me Confused.

Ah well, all that to come this month. Assuming I can get any well timed JSing due to OH going away this weekend Angry

Miffles · 26/10/2010 21:53

Yeah! Everyone has finally descended into my "meh" attitude! Actually, sorry, that sounds really mean.... Sorry peeps are finding things tough at the moment. I gave up actually trying months ago, as naturally I don't stand a chance and I haven't yet been given drugs. But it does take the pressure off. I think it actually does no harm to chill out over it all.

Having said that, I'm counting the days til I'm given clomid, then I'll be waiting to start it and can really join in on the madness!

Nelly - after all your spotting, was your AF much lighter than usual? Mine was over in about 3 days, normally 5...

Enjoy your dog BB - good practice for baby! At least you'll have him housetrained before bubba is here.

Vallinna - drugs....hmm...getting serious now... Good luck!

NervousNelly · 26/10/2010 21:40

Evening Viroids!

Well firstly can I just say - a horrible scary ugly baby girl with PeeWee Herman. WTF????

Whereas I actually know I'm having a cute-as-a-button boy by either Johnny Depp or George Clooney (I'm torn - JD is clearly good father material, but already has kids so may be distracted. GC is the opposite, but is veeery sexy. Hmmm [hhmm])

BB - how exciting for CD10. I've sort of lost track. I think I must be CD6. ERTD has definitely left. Sent OH a text earlier to tell him I was excited about seeing him later (he was away last night). He replied asking if this meant he was getting a 3 course meal when he got home, but then said he'd be happy with Pasta and a Shag Grin Grin Wink [hwink].

Bugger now I can't go back and read everyone else's posts. Josie - I suggest not TTC, just shagging Wink. I'm afraid I'm with everyone else in the F-the-E attitude. We'll find a way.

Vallina I agree with miffles on your PG colleague. Two fingers up to her. She'll probably get a baby that looks like my alledged PeeWee Herman Love Child

. Sorry if I missed you out

BrassicaBabe · 26/10/2010 20:08

Yeah for drugs vallinna Grin I suspect we might both descend into madness at any moment Hmm

We got an English Springer. She is very springy at the moment Smile

vallinnapod · 26/10/2010 19:55

OK, let's ignore TTC...am due to start all my drugs next week and right now genuinely don't care....I wish I could bottle this feeling for when the madness descends!

BB what pup did you get????

BrassicaBabe · 26/10/2010 19:42

Evening viroids! [hgrin]

I've been lurking on one hand because MNing at work is proving difficult these days. On the other hand I'm finding myself rather meh with the TTC process at the moment [hhmm].

Plus we've got a new puppy which is keeping me busy in the evening. She's 7 weeks old. I didn't realise how easy my old pooch was to deal with in comparison! [hgrin] Pesky pooch!

Love the dress miffles

Well, CD10 for me. Hand me my shag cape girls, I'm going in...! [hgrin] Yeah, whatever [hsad]

Miffles · 26/10/2010 19:03

here's the dress. And I wouldn't be able to wear it if I was pg already! But the do is only in 4 weeks, so no chance of a baby bump by then!

Miffles · 26/10/2010 19:00

[henvy] [henvy] and more [henvy] to her, Vallinna Make sure you blow a raspberry behind her back next time she walks past. Guarentee it'll make you feel a tinsy bit better!!

Miffles · 26/10/2010 18:58

Frakk - respect! We know where to come to get French translations! Glad you're sharing the important phrases! Wink

I second NMCB, TTL - you'll feel better once you've spoken to the doc. A tiny smear is nothing to worry about, I'm sure. Try not to get your self in a two and eight about it.

Aah...Vallinna - the Aston Martons and detached house....yes, together with weekly massage/manicure/pedicure/cleaner/gardener, it is hard to afford a baby too!!! Tee hee...one day!

I bought the PERFECT dress today. DH has been invited to a ball - only 15 members from the company are invited and it's the first time I'll be meeting his boss and colleagues. And found the best dress in Warehouse. I tend to go for floaty dresses to cover the lumps and bumps, but was amazed this looks great! A LBD that makes my figure look hour glass! He was so impressed too! V happy. I'll see if I can link to the website.

Hope everyones ok....BB - where are you on your clomid cycle? Not too many side effects, I hope.

We've got a few ppl MIA (or lurking!). Hope lide isn't being too tough on our dear viroids.

vallinnapod · 26/10/2010 18:55

Colleague announced her pregnancy today. Thought "arse, wish that was me" [hsad]

Obviously really pleased for her but with a tinge of [henvy]

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 26/10/2010 11:13

I'm with you on the not being able to find anywhere bigger to live Vallinna. The property market here is appalling (more than other parts of Scotland) and the rental market is directly affected. Mostly I want to live somewhere that has an efficent heating system and isn't colder than the outside of an igloo in Winter!

Hurry up and go to the Dr's TTL! You (hopefully) be less twitchy once you've made it offical with a medical type and they'll be better able to keep an eye on you.

vallinnapod · 26/10/2010 10:46

Seems like we echo the money situation. There will never be a right time financially. I reckon you just get on with it. We live in a 1 bed flat and need to move but can't find anything we like, however I am sure when push comes to shove we will. After 'buying' our baby there goes my excuse for a private birth (hehehe - DH was NEVER going to agree to it anyway despite my 'we'd spend that on a couple of holidays, isn't the birth of your first born more important' argument) As we live in London I am adamant on private education - which will not be possible if we end up with twins (or really a single one if I a totally honest!)

Oh and then there's the Aston Marton, huge detached house in central London, weekly hair/manicure/massage - I jest, I jest - but you get the idea....my ideals and actuals are never going to reflect on another but I have a lovely life, lovely DH and I am sure a lovely bub will fit snuggly in there too

frakkinstein · 26/10/2010 10:39

I have no excuse...French is the official language here. Thankfully as an English lecturer I get away with speaking only English because the point is to improve their English not my French!

takethatlady · 26/10/2010 10:36

Ooh frak I'm impressed with the French. I did French A level but I've forgotten it all and am so rubbish now that the last time I was in France I asked for a hot cat instead of a hot chocolate.

TMI alert: when I wiped this morning it was pink. I have lost my BBT thermometer so I couldn't check if my temp was still high. No bleeding since though so I think it's probably nothing to worry about. I do NOT want another embarrassing trip to A&E Confused

eskarina have fun on your holibobs! Envy

Oh feck the money. I've worked out the spare cash we have will cover a live in very inexperience newly qualified nanny doing a 30 hour week. I just have to sell the job really hard (but I took my first job for much less so that's fine Grin)

Eskarina, not that you'll see this, 'j'ai besoin d'un ramequin et un baton sur lequel je peux pisser' (actually that's a stick I can pee on). Slightly more useful the French for PG test is 'un test de grossesse'....

JosieSmith1 · 26/10/2010 00:18

Ooo have a fab time Eskarina!

I am [hshocked] and [hgrin] at online pg test!

Milano yes I'm stayin here, and yes I'm 25, sorry! [hgrin]

I'm glad everyone else seems 2 b in same boat money wise. I actually had another look and if we don't mention a couple of small debts we hav (to mam so not that bad) we cud manage it really, so bring on the shag cape [hgrin]

Eskarina · 25/10/2010 21:23

TTL surely your mum will understand, especially if you put it in terms of not wanting to disappoint her if anything went wrong this time. Or I suppose you could tell them you've just found out, whenever you do tell them. Good luck for the trip to the Dr tomorrow.

I am off to france tomorrwo morning. What's the french for "I need a ramekin and a stick to pee on?" Grin

Will be back sunday to catch up with you all and will test sunday morning unless ERTD gets me on holiday. It's going to, isn't it.....just to spite me....

vallinnapod · 25/10/2010 18:18

Lordy... I am having a buy with Fabio...although I am not sure Fabio would find me - or any one of female orientation - attractive Wink

takethatlady · 25/10/2010 17:26

I am expecting a girl by the mailman Grin

I wish I could be honest, and I will probably tell family at the 8 week mark. But I am still refusing to count my chickens. If I do have a miscarriage I will definitely tell my mum and DH will definitely tell his parents, but at least this time we won't have got all their hopes up as well as our own.

I think my mum will be pretty offended, to be honest, but I just want to feel like it's real before I actually tell people in RL.

Having said that, I am defo going to the docs tomorrow since they said I had a mild urine infection when I was at the hospital and then forgot to prescribe me antibiotics, even though they told me this could lead to complications. Having googled 'cystitis miscarriage' I am [hshock] so I'd better go and admit I've done the deed and got knocked up. Should get an early scan as they're going to think I'm 10 weeks pregnant when I'm only 5.
