The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Well done on the tickets front takethat. On the up side you could always sell them closer to the time for a huge profit if you can't make it Hmm

Could the back pain be associated with the urine infection?

takethatlady · 29/10/2010 10:58

Phew. Got tickets after 2 hours of trying.

Caught between thinking I've got lower backache and this isn't a good sign (have just phoned the doctors and annoyed the hell out of the receptionist who said she's not a nurse but backache is normal and to wait until Tuesday for my urine test results), and also thinking I'm definitely upduffed and have just spent £110 on two tickets for a concert taking place a week after my due date. Confused

Anyone got any sanity tablets?

BrassicaBabe · 29/10/2010 10:46

hehe takethat is about to implode with impatience! Grin

takethatlady · 29/10/2010 10:31

Ooh cremegg and brassica good luck with the shagging!

I am waiting for my Take That tickets to go through after an hour of pressing 'refresh' over and again on four different websites (all crashed) and pressing 'redial' on both home and mobile.

Just got through on the Ents 24 website. It says I have ordered tickets and not to click the back button or press the order button again, but seriously, it's been ten minutes and it still hasn't gone through to the confirmation page.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!!! Plus I have no more sticks to pee on to pass the time (Envy at bb), and chronic backache which is prompting lunatic miscarriage googles in between refreshes and redials ...

I am not cut out for patience or calmness, clearly ...

Right, old pooch asleep, new pooch locked in the utility room for now (tired of cleaning wee up!), working from home so you have my undivided attention! Grin And the meh attitude is leaving the building Hmm

Glad the moggy is on the mend dyna

Welcome ovu You've caught us at a good time methinks. We're either knocked up or "meh". Hang around long enough though and the madness descends!

Good luck with the tickets takethat. And you'll be wanting some of my pg tests won't you to sustain that habit! Grin

Sorry for the BFNs Although I don't think I noticed any red-fecker arrivals? Are you just early testing? Smile

Sorry for the retention vallinna. I feel your pain. I'm carrying extra few pounds at the moment which I can't shift. Normally I manage to shift them during the week ready for the weekend, but they don't seem to be going! DH has noticed too Hmm But that helps give me the kick I need. I'm blaming it on the clomid which can cause weight gain Grin but it's more likely to be the tin of hero's which are disappearing! Wink

Well, CD13 for me. We've JSed the last 3 days. Going to try to persuade DH to go again tonight. OPKs are speaking to me Hmm

Have you had any luck with that dry shampoo creme I bought some but didn't rate it. Would love to find a decent one. I have to wash my hair everyday otherwise it looks crap!

cremegg · 29/10/2010 07:58

hey ladies, been a busy week with jsing work! hehe!

went to a friends for dinner last night, and it turned into one of those dinners where at 10.30pm you're still waiting for food! my friend is the best cook ever and so lovely but had drank so much vino while cooking that the process got slower and slower... i wanted to say 'don't u know im on CD14 and we need to get home for a js!' all v funny!

have been doing ov tests and for the first time i have POAnyS theres progress, hooray! started as faint line but is now matching the control so v excited at the potential. think i will try and play it cool with DH over weekend ('ooh its prob too late now') as he is not a fan of timed JSing ;)

just read back over posts and lol to BBs dog making the puppy poop himself! :o

also had a look at that dress miffles looks amazing, love the shape!

vallinna im with nervous stick with rules so you know you are doing what you can... {hugs}

am sposed to be meeting DH and work mates in an hr for drinks and really cant be bothered! sounds lame but it's peed it down all day (driest state in driest country! pah!) and also friday nights always take that extra effort! also want to js

right, i should go in search of the dry shampoo...

vallinnapod · 28/10/2010 21:55

Fanks lovelies!

Encouraging to hear about our thread stickies too xx

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 28/10/2010 21:08

Aw vallinna, stick with it :) My BIL and SIL have just had their 6 week scan after their second IVF attempt took, and I am so made up for them. They are lovely people and have been through the fire to get this pregnancy, but they'll be wonderful parents, as will you.

BrassicaBabe · 28/10/2010 18:33

Trying desperately to post, but being bugged by 2 pesky pooches.

Hope the be back later.

Yeah for the 2xstickiness!! [hgrin]

NervousNelly · 28/10/2010 13:49

Stick with it Vallina. It's just a few more days. If you stop early, and the IVF doesn't work, will you question whether stopping it early made a difference? It's costing too much not to follow all the rules...Anyway, a few pounds extra will seem nothing when, not long from now, you are 8.5 months pregnant :)

Big hugs from me. Cos they are allowed on this thread, so there Grin

vallinnapod · 28/10/2010 12:24

Hey ladies,

WARNING!! Full on grump here.

My pill is making me retain water like a bitch. Seriously, I reckon about 3lbs worth. Making my legs heavy and tired and me bloated and generally 'meh'!

Had a dream last night that IVF failed and that I didn't care - clearly I do with the dreaming about it 'n' all...!

Just...grrrrr!!

Tempted to cut my pill short by a couple of days...I am sure it won't make any difference, point of taking is just so I'll get a bleed...right...?!

Sorry...feel like a big dark cloud!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 28/10/2010 11:57

lol, I already did that last month after convincing myself I was pg Grin And that was our first month of JSing! I was hoping to be less of a mentalist about it this time round, as it took a year to get DS and every month I drove myself insane with imagined pregnancy symptoms.

The reason I feel so at home on this thread is that DS was eventually conceived after I gave up in despair and spent the entire month drinking Grin Blush Was also the month I steadfastly refused to test even though my period was late for the first time ever!

NervousNelly · 28/10/2010 11:53

Yip I tested, just in case. 3 times. It was, surprise, surprise, a BFN. Hmm. Mind you, the first two were invalid, no control line appeared, so really I only tested once Wink.

Still, it was a completely pointless exercise, other than when the nurse asks me later, whilst my feet are sexily hoisted in to stirrups "are you pregnant?", I can confidently say no.

OH now away for a few nights, just as my iphone app tells me I'm entering the fertile period :(. Tis ok though, he's back on Sunday and I will jump his bones as soon as he's back. [hgrin]

TTL that is great news about the doc. Well done for braving it!

darkstar if your period is due this weekend, shouldn't you be POAS by now? Go on, enter the madness if you dare :)

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 28/10/2010 10:25

Miffles I lurve that dress, tres glamourifique (or something).

Hello everyone else, have forgotten all I was going to say as I am still full of this stinking chest infection Hmm Within the last 12 hours, two people have told me I look exhausted (which I am). Period due over the weekend, joy of joys, so I'll look forward to that.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/10/2010 09:34

PS 'Wolf Whistle' emotiocon in Miffles direction.

Hello to Ovumhead

AndI'd give you my shag cape Dyna, but it's now my cape of comfort as I laze about on the couch feeling utter wretched (being pg is great, haha). Will happily spike you drink with more baby dust though Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/10/2010 09:31

Grin Good news TTL (about the DR and sticky bean, NOT tt tickets :-P ). Now stop making some Clear Blue Heir richer than they need to be! Grin

takethatlady · 28/10/2010 09:03

Finally got doc-ed up. Got all my forms. Gotta pee in a test tube now since the hospital told me I had a mild urine infection and forgot to give me antibiotics.

He said it's well and truly stuck now, so I guess I've gotta take it seriously from this point on, and stop freaking out at every symptom.

I am a moron in the doctors. I get shy and tongue-tied. Also horrified to learn I am both fatter and shorter than I thought I was Grin.

The main bit of advice was not to go scuba-diving. Babies can't get rid of the bubbles, apparently, because they don't breathe. It's going to be hard, but I reckon I can manage it Grin

takethatlady · 28/10/2010 06:52

Ladies, you should all be slapped with kippers but it can't be by me as I am a testaholic. Still doing it now (did one just now, before I go to the doctor, just in case for some reason I turned up there and they say 'you're blatantly not pregnant you nutjob. Go home and stop being mental'). The worst thing is since I meddled around with the cheapies I don't trust myself to use them if they don't have firm packaging around them to stop me engineering my own positives, so now I'm spending fortunes.

It was my last digi today. I will not buy more, I will not buy more, I will not buy more....

Welcome to the newbies! Good luck!

Ooh that's settled about TT then. I will be buying the tickets and I'll keep you ladies in mind! Last time I went it was my 27th birthday and DH and I queued for 10 hours to be at the front. It was soooo worth it. Not sure DH has forgiven me. This time I'll have to get seated tix instead of standing as 9 months preggo and standing for over ten hours will not be fun :)

NervousNelly · 27/10/2010 23:03

Welcome ovumahead. It's for everyone here! I think most of us are trying for a first, but a few already have one. I think you're in the right place! Yes you've summed us up. We're trying to be casual and just see what happens (these were literally the words OH and I exchanged a few months ago); but actually on here we're slightly more obsessed than I think we'd all like Wink.

So on that note. Still have out of character period/ovulation style pains, at totally the wrong time of the month. Tomorrow I am due to have a dental exam and (oh joy) a smear. So I think I might be tempted to POAS just to check. Which is nuts, isn't it? We all know it'll be a BFN, cos I had a period after all Hmm.. Obsessed? Us? [hgrin]

ovumahead · 27/10/2010 22:49

Can I join? I was reading the initial post and thinking 'I can't join them because I'm thinking about TTc too much' but it seems that actually, everyone on here is, but you're encouraging each other not to become too obsessed. Am I right? Or have I got it wrong? Anyway, if I am right, I'd love to join your gang... I need some people to help keep me sane during my short burst of TTC before I have to stop in Jan (end of contract at work so wouldn't get maternity pay after that, which would be a nightmare!). Can try again from August next year so long as I have another job. So feeling quite a lot of pressure to get pregnant NOW but also trying to be oh so cool about it - you know, if it's meant to be, it will happen... Hmmm...

Also, is this thread for people TTC their first, or is it just anyone TTC?

vallinnapod · 27/10/2010 21:28

Miffles - LOLs at the PG test...do you want to feel better? I did one last week....despite knowing I haven't ovulated since the '90s AND I hadn't had sex for a month Shock

Miffles · 27/10/2010 21:10

I did a pg test - BFN. But it was fun! Internet cheapie (and they really are, aren't they!) that came free (Hmm well, that's what I told DH Wink) with the pre-seed. So my ERTDs have been ERTD, not heavy spotting masking a pregnancy. Seems I'm NOT one of those ladies who is up-duffed and did not know it.

Why am I not surprised?! [hgrin]

Dynababy · 27/10/2010 19:14

Hey everyone, not posted for a few days now, one of my cats has been really ill so all energy and attension on her! SadShe seems to be making a good recovery now so fingers crossed.

I'm attempting the meh attitude but can't pull it off since I just did an opk and found tonights the night Grin.. was worried had missed the window of opportunity since no Js'ing over the weekend due to poorly cat. BUT JS'd last night smiley face today so have caught the window and its still open and will be used!

I too new to have a shag cape - NMCB can I borrow your now redundant cape for luck please?

Glad all the pregnant ladies are doing well. TTL PMSL at your weekend antics! Miffles you'll knock then dead in that dress very sexy and sassy. BB timed shagging not ideal but hopefully it will pay off for us all eventually!

Soo I'm about to decend into 2ww torture, who's joining me?? Smile

NervousNelly · 27/10/2010 18:46

Damn miffles beat me to the TT tickets. Meh. Grin

I did indeed get my shag last night! Just for fun, no TTC as was too early. But hey, a shag's a shag! Though now I'm wondering why I've got lower stomach pains on my right side, near ovary. I do get this when I ovulate but it's too early (cd8) and no pant snot. So now I'm convinced I have an ectopic from last month. I suspect though it's just cos I'm bored in the 2ww before the 2ww, so I'm finding things to Google. Meh again.

Bb sorry about the puppy crap, but a springer sounds lovely. Will it be a worker?

Miffles · 27/10/2010 18:09

And glad to hear our other pg viroids are doing ok and all the beans are sticking. Good news indeed [hsmile]
