The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

OH back. Operation "jump bones" successful. Which is just as well as pant snot/sore tummy pains indicate OV any minute now.

vallinnapod · 31/10/2010 13:44

Oh Milano I am sorry to hear that Sad

BB yay for increased temps!

Well, I have lost my pill packet 3 days before it was due to end...a sign I should come off it early?! NO other choice Confused

Dynababy · 31/10/2010 12:57

Forgot say yay for BB for oving after all!! Fingers crossed and hope you can stay sane in 2ww, i'm ok so far but may be taken the chilled attitude too far drinking!?

Dynababy · 31/10/2010 12:54

Poor you milano hugs to you and yours. This is a tough old life.

Well yesterday despite planning to be good i drank 4 pints ... 16dpo is this a very bad idea...i feel very guilty i might havethwarted something that was happening.. Hmm - guess we'll see.

eskaria pmsl at your shouty french loo! I'm off to paris next week with DH .. not before going to India this week with work which i don't want to do Biscuit Any tips for Paris??

30and I'd love a pup but don't think our cats would fee the same sadly. It is very good practice for you!

30andMerkin · 31/10/2010 09:39

Hello all! Am still here, have just defected to the New Puppy Owners threads for a while as, obviously, we have a new puppy! And if anyone can think of a better contraceptive/way of getting your mind off getting knocked up than a small cuddly being who wakes through the night, whose poos dominate every conversation with your DH, and who requires constant supervision and attention, then let me know! For the past few weeks DH and I have been looking at each 'We wanted a baby? Which will be harder than this, really?!' Grin

But seriously, we're getting back in the game and at least what we consider acceptable levels of poo to be wearing on a daily basis has radically changed in preparation for parenthood.

So, how is everyone? Who's had +ive that I've missed?! Fill me in!

BrassicaBabe · 31/10/2010 09:39

PMSL at eskarina and her scary shouty french toilet lady! Grin Sorry for your BFN. How many DPO are you? I'd say with symptoms and no red-fecker there is still hope yet!

Well I jumped into the pit of gloom prematurely Blush Temps jumped this morning so I oved yesterday. [hgrin]

My body has behaved differently this cycle which threw me yesterday. Increased clomid and post MC changing things maybe? Normally I ov on CD12. This time on CD14. Normally I get +OPK for one pee. This time I had +OPKs for 24 hours. Normally I ov on the same day as the +OPK. This time about 24 hours after the LH surge had gone and had -OPKs to feck with my mind. Trying not to get excited about what could be a start of "normal cycle behaviour".

BrassicaBabe · 31/10/2010 09:31

milano that is really crap news. How are you doing today? Hope DH is okay too and looking after you. ((hugs)) So sorry

Eskarina · 31/10/2010 07:58

Hi Viroids, I'm back!
You've had a busy week. I've been able to check in a couple of times from DH's iphone but not post (don't want to give him username and password!!) But there's still a lot to catch up on.

to Milanomum so sorry you're going through this loss.

News here is thin. I was really hoping to be able to say that holding off the pee sticks until CD37 (today) would be rewarded, but got a BFN this morning. My previous longest cycle is 34 days so even by my standards I'm late.

I've had really sore boobs for a couple of weeks now but they feel more normal today. And for the last couple of days I've been needing to pee loads (even DH noticed!) so have been making trips to these little public loos in paris where an automated voice shouts at you! I was terrified the first time because they're automatic lock-you-in type ones, and I thought she wouldn't let me out until I'd done whatever I was being asked - it wouldn't flush but repeated the same message every time I pressed the flush button.
Stupidly I connected the shouty voice with the only sign in English which instructed you not to put ANYTHING down the loo, and I was at the point of trying to fish out a soggy square of loo roll (didn't!) when I decided to try the lock anyway. She let me out, but was very embarrassed that bowl was full of pee!
After several shouty trips I'd heard the message enough to start to understand. Apparently it was thanking me for choosing a low flush option, and informing me that for my health and sanitation the loo would flush after I had left and complete a cleaning cycle.
God I was terrified that I'd be locked in a Parisien loo with an increasingly shouty woman forever with DH wondering where I'd got to and an ever increasing queue outside. Blush

NervousNelly · 30/10/2010 21:44

So so sorry to hear that Milano :(. Have a from me too. Hope you're doing ok.

milanomum · 30/10/2010 15:19

hey everyone,
Bad news here - had a bit of spotting so went to the hospital and was told that my womb is empty. I am really confused seeing as I still had some symptoms but hadn't re-tested since CB told me it was 2-3 weeks...The Dr actually told me I'd tested too early (Angry even though I tested 3 times over a period of 2 weeks and only after my period was due??!!). So, The spotting is actually my period on time, strangely. I don't even know if it's a chemical pregnancy because I've not had a 'late' period - my last period was on the 15th of sept and apart form a bit of light spotting on one day, nothing else, which is strange because I've never had irregular periods. And then there's the small detail of the positive tests of course. The only positive thing is, seeing as there's nothing there, i haven't had an official miscarriage - there wasn't anything in there to come out, so at least I've been spared that. The second doc I saw said that it probably failed early on and got re-absorbed but the hormones are just taking their time to go down.
Ironically, I had booked all my scans and tests yesterday so now I have to cancel them all again next week :(
I've had a bit of a cry and now just feel the need to get on with it all.
Will be back later to catch up with your news. X

baby2b · 30/10/2010 14:50

Hey ladies, just back from hols and wondering what I have missed? Its going to take me an age to catch up on the banter.

I am on CD16 and opk said I ovulated on the CD14. Jsed like a good one while away, so nothing left but the annoying 2ww. Kippers at the ready please.

p.s. I missed you guys Blush

Dynababy · 30/10/2010 11:02

TTL pmsl at your night out antics! I'm sure everything will be fine, antibios will be working their magic and lots of water to flush the infection out. Try not to worry you've done everything you can.

BB poor you, just wait and see though as miffles says it may be that the temp didn't move for some reason, its not always accurate indicator.

valinna i'm sure those stuck in the 90's ovaries of yours will kick in with a vengence and make up for lost time. Even if protocol a wee bit longer than you wished for just think it'll get the best out of dem ovaries!!

I have a bitof a dilemma today... i'vce been working a lot and very very long hours so not been out much lately but meeting up with 8 lovely friends for lunch today. Now our usual would be a very long and boozy lunch that merges into evening ... but i'm now CD16 with +OPK at CD13 (no idea if actual ov happened as not charting or being monitored). Soooo as we js'd 3 times over that time i might be in with a chance... so to drink or not to drink?? Help pls!Confused

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/10/2010 10:52

propped

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/10/2010 10:51

TT you'll be fine!!! I didn't know I was pg when I was sick. Also as I had a virus there was no meds I could take, where as you're now doped up to your eyeballs Grin. Besides you're well enough to get out of bed. I spent a week in bed proped up on pillows as that was the only way I felt comfortable.

Don't take any Ibuprofen though, only take paracetamol for the pain.

Wasn't Josie riding horsies all this week?

Bras what the others said. Just because your temp didn't rise, doesn't mean your out of the game yet. Besides as you said you had +OPKs.

takethatlady · 30/10/2010 10:45

bb maybe miffles is right, or maybe your temp will rise tomorrow? Don't lose heart yet. Big hugs coming your way.

Thanks miffles. I wasn't trying to make him sick! He seemed to think that corners and roundabouts had been invented purely to induce vomit :)

He's banging about in the kitchen trying to make beans on toast now. I did offer to make it for him but apparently only he can make it the way he likes it. I think he's still drunk.

nmcb don't say that! I've just spent the whole night and morning convincing myself that I've caught it in time, and if I do the antibiotics and drink lots of water it'll all be fine and won't make any difference. I will not be able to take it if it all goes wrong now because of this, especially as I should have just been more assertive at the hospital and pushed them for antibiotics.

Miffles · 30/10/2010 10:39

BB - But it's not a firm science...it maybe that you did ov, but the temps didn't pick it up? You did everything you should have. And there's no reason why, when you ov last month, on the same dose you shouldn't this month. I hope you can keep a little bit of hope. Or enjoy your wine and maybe you'll have a surprise in 2 weeks time!!

TTL - grrr at kidney infection! Keep drinking and resting. Really glad you've told your family - their reactions sounded funny! In fact the whole night sounded like a laugh! Well done on trying to make your DH sick - if he was that drunk when you were completely sober, I'd have been tempted to do the same.

Nelly - I'm sure as I kid I had some evenings/meals, like that. It's always so exciting when the normal routine goes out the window! You'd be a cool mum, giving creamed rice for dinner. Oooo...love that stuff! And custard, that's yummy too.

Enjoy your pampering Vallinna.

I'm off to Bluewater (shopping) but waiting for my DH to come home. He insisted we leave early (10am is early for a sat) and I therefore couldn't have my desired 11am lie in. He got up about 830 to deal with a problem in our rental flat. I dually (sp) got up and dressed and ready to go (ok, wouldn't have been ready for 10, but maybe 1020) and still no sign of him! Rang to say will be back at 11! Nevermind, I get to catch up with my viroids, and I will get the psycological upperhand - cos he delayed us not me, after he made the fuss!! Wink

Hopoe everyone else enjoys their weekend and Josie is doing ok.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/10/2010 10:36

Hugs for Vallinna and Brassica too.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/10/2010 10:22

TTL being that I think my first MC was the result of a(n untreatable) kidney infection I feel your pain. How utterly irresponsible of the hospital to not get you the anitbiotics you needed![hangry] Fingers crossed for a determined sticky bean!

BrassicaBabe · 30/10/2010 10:11

Back to the pit of gloom for me...

CD14 today. +OPKs on CD 12 and 13 which have now gone -. But no BBT temp rise Sad. So despite JSing like made it look like there is no ovulation for me this month.

Which of course if fecking FC were monitoring me properly they'd know about!! Angry

takethatlady · 30/10/2010 09:31

PS - where's josie? Just lurking?

LOLOLOLOL! My ovaries are now upset that they don't ovualte AND that they missed out onTT tour tickets - although they are secretly happ to have avoided the whole Robbie leaving/rejoining trauma Wink Nelly was your mouth out with soap for your comment Grin

Miffles my bottom thanks you for the sympathy but it will share the pain with my stomach Grin The clinic is OK. Not great but I am more prepared for it now...! You get some great people and some annoyingly useless ones so you just have to take the good with the bad!

TTL - [hangry] glad it is sorted but....unbelievable....

Off for the w/e with my Mama now so some girly pampering...bollocks...uber late now {smile]

takethatlady · 30/10/2010 09:29

nervous you can say what you like about TT, but just remember that one of them is going to marry me and is possibly the father of my unborn child Grin

Still have kidney pain despite drinking a bucketload of cranberry juice in the pub last night. Grrrr. Also caved and we told family. My dad said I shouldn't have told him until 12 weeks because it might go wrong again, and then told me he had to go because he was hungover and couldn't really concentrate Grin. My mum totally refused our attempts to be low-key and started planning the nursery, making startled comments about the amount of maternity leave I plan to have ('Oh no, that's soooo short! Can't you take longer? Tut, oh dear'), and ignoring my attempts to say we weren't planning ahead . DH's family were nice because they're normal Grin

DH got massively drunk last night, insisted on acting out the lyrics to every song that came on (including sex lyrics, and including while sharing a dancefloor with my mum and step dad), told me how he would never want a baby with anyone but me and would never have another woman in his life if I died, and then yelled at me all the way home in the car about my driving (I'm too speedy and was deliberately trying to make him throw up, apparently Hmm). He also kept saying 'This is ten years of my life REVERSED. Ha ha ha ha ha (evil chuckle)', by which he meant that it's usually him sober and me drunk Wink

He threw up something proper when we got in and told me he's not going to get up for 48 hours no matter what I say Grin. It's been about 7 hours and there's no sign of movement yet ...

NervousNelly · 29/10/2010 21:44

Oh I do feel sorry for vallina's ovaries as (whispers v quietly) TT were a bit rubbish first time round Shock

TTL I guess a good news/bad news for you. Great that you now know what the back pain is and are being treated, but how awful that it was allowed to get to this stage. Step away from the google though, it'll only wind you up more! Question is though, if the pee recepticle isn't called a ramekin, then what would be the right word? Confused. Jar? Pot? See, ramekin is better cos it has more letters!

Strange night here with no Internet (thank god for 3G), nearly no Sky, and no food. So just had creamed rice for dinner! Would this be considered a bad thing to feed a small child? Hmm maybe need some training before I become a mum!

takethatlady · 29/10/2010 18:48

Thanks ladies. Have calmed down now. At least I caught it when I did. Sure it will be fine. Really need to be calmer about this ttc and preggo lark.

Pmsl at vallinna's tt-lovin ovaries :)

Result on the dress-hope u look as hot as miffles, darkstar!
