The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

May TTL - the BEST month to be born Grin

takethatlady · 01/11/2010 14:22

If we're going with the judgey pants I have had to physically restrain myself from exploding out of them because my cousin, who is 20, is pregnant and works in a nursing home. She not only gets properly steaming drunk on weekends but she drinks bottles of wine and tins of lager with her colleagues at work! That's not a nursing home I want to end up in.

I haven't ever got upset at friends etc who have babies, even after mc, but the world did seem a bit unfair when it felt like I was having trouble conceiving and she was drunk, pregnant and looking after the elderly!

Ooh good for Holly W. Wonder when she's due.

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 01/11/2010 14:12

Awh, Holly Willoughbooby is preggers with #2. She's my DH's fanatasy wife....better not be his Hmm

vallinnapod · 01/11/2010 14:10

BB - ARGH, I'd score myself a 3 but after reading that I am stressing that I am not stressed enough thereofre I am at least a 6 now Wink In all seriousness I don't think I am that stressed but then it is all I can thinkg, dream and talk about so.....!!

Incredibly sad about Lily Allen, so late too. However, I walked past her a couple of months ago in Covent Garden and she was smoking...

As I am firmly in my judgy pants I few weeks ago I was waiting to cross the road and a chav was standing opposite me, full on pink velour tracksuit and top, 6 months PG, smoking and swilling from a can of full fat Coke. My judgy pants nearly snapped their elastic - I had literally just stepped out of the fertility clinic Shock

BrassicaBabe · 01/11/2010 14:01

And in the Daily Hate Mail today it says that stress is better for conception!

Apparently women who self scored their stress level as 1-3 (out of 10) when having IVF had a 30% chance of pregnancy. Women who self scored 7-10 for stress had a 50-60% chance of pregnancy!

takethatlady · 01/11/2010 13:29

Oh my god - at six months? That's really really horrible. Sad

Sometimes it just seems unbelievable to me that anybody ever gets born.

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 01/11/2010 13:18

Oh no. I've just read that Lilly Allen has had a MC at 6months. She MC'ed 2 years ago as well.

That's horrible news Sad

takethatlady · 01/11/2010 13:09

Ooh good luck vallinna waiting for the fecker.

milano really glad to hear you're feeling better. Don't worry, you can't freak me anymore than I am already freaked Wink. Actually, feeling quite calm today. Have been to see medical professionals three times in ten days, all for no reason, so I think it's high time I began behaving like a normal person again.

Just got to get my 'I'm going to ring you every five minutes/can I come to the hospital when you give birth/I'm going to be the main grandparent aren't I, and not your dad or DH's parents?' etc etc mother to calm down now!

OP posts:
milanomum · 01/11/2010 13:01

Thanks ladies! Feeling much more positive today. I mean, I got pregnant so I presume I will again - still have pre-seed left too :)

BB hope your temps hold up and you get oving!

TTL and nomorechochope I haven't terrorised you both - I'm sure you will both be just fine - thinking back, I'd lost most symptoms in the last week. If I get pregnant again I'm going to get a scan done privately about week 5 or 6 just to make sure it's there so I can then just worry about it staying there!

Cremegg drink! it's not official until the fat, red lady sings so ignorance is bliss (and probably drunk).

vallinnapod · 01/11/2010 12:18

Nelly - GENUINELY lost it....I sound like such a kid making excuses Wink Just been in to pick my sniffy drugs up and told them and they looked at me as if to say 'And...' so am assuming it is not an issue!

Miffles - your supper had a least 1 of your 5 a day (ok may a qaurter of one...) and the chocolate is bound to be good for dairy (if milk) or antioxidents (if dark)

BB/TTL went in to the Clinic today. Just hanging around waiting for a 'period' - should be tomorrow or Weds....eek! Then I sniff the Buserelin three times a day for two weeks. Then I go in for a baseline scan and start injecting the stimulating ones...again, eek!

BB - temping is a bitch if you have ovulation probs and are on Clomid (sound like anyone we know Wink) so please don't let it worry you. I could only get a spike if I got pissed Grin

takethatlady · 01/11/2010 12:08

Maybe a few fantastic shags will set you right? Can't hurt, anyway!

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 01/11/2010 10:57

Thanks takethat I'm trying to chill out. It's not working. Grin Congratulations for the nausea Wink

takethatlady · 01/11/2010 10:17

cremegg go for the cocktails. It can't do any harm before you'd get a positive pregnancy test anyway, as there's no placenta so the alcohol can't be transmitted. This is what I tell myself anyway.

Plus thread rules dictate that drunkenness = pregnancy.

bb I know it's easier said than done (and this coming from the Queen Worrier at the moment) but try not to worry too much about the temps. It's the pattern you're looking for anyway so any single temp drop/rise isn't enough to worry about. You might have just slept with your mouth like this Shock :)

I went to the doctors today as my kidneys are still hurting but they say it's probably just ordinary backache as the urine infection was very mild and they only prescribed antibiotics to make sure it didn't progress. So perhaps it is just backache. At least my mind can be put at rest.

Knackered and nauseous (I think). DH had to sleep in the spare room last night as I was fidgeting so much he didn't get to sleep until 3am. He's been very sweet about it though.

vallinna when's your next appt?

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 01/11/2010 09:52

Morning

I'm hovering at the mouth of the pit of gloom again today. My temps haven't remained high. So yesterday's ov is now in doubt. Will have to see what tomorrows temp brings.

Pesky OPKs creme. I prefer to use to digi ones as it takes away from the "is it, isn't it" senario.

Welcome back mog

Wonder when FF became "she" *eskarina" Grin

Grin vallinna "losing" her pills! Bring on the IVF drugs now? What's the next stage?

cremegg · 01/11/2010 06:29

hey all been jsing all wknd, am so exhausted!hehehe...also been drinking, oops!

huge hugs to milano, v sad news.

Eskarina loving the toilet story and symptoms sound v promising!!

miffles lol to sunday tea, i always think it's just me that ends up eating randomly concocted (sp?) meals when everyone else is having a roast!

bb yay to ov!!

speaking of ov... i thought i got a +opk fri which when i tested, had gone on sat... didn't bother testing sun, but got another +opk just now (mon arvo) what the heck does this mean?? havent been temping so not sure whats happening, any thoughts?! (today is CD18 so i thought fri (CD15) would have been more likely?) I have a clockwork 29 day cycle.... trying not to obsess but feel free to kipper me!!!! more jsing i think!!

also have promised friend who has 8 wk old baby that we would go for cocktails this fri (planned ages ago as her big night back out!) dont know what to do!?

SingingMog · 31/10/2010 21:46

Wow, so much to catch up on now that back from Spain (was mainly sunny and I didn't drink that much).

Many hugs to Milanomum, so sad to hear.

Eskarina - so funny about the loos!!! Only problem that we had in Spain was having the creakiest/noisiest bed in the world. This at first stifled the JSing, but then I came up with some quieter variations Wink (think DH was impressed by my cunning)!

Really enjoyed reading about your attempts at hiding being preggers TTL. Spitting out shots and pouring champers down the toilet Grin

Vallinna it is not wrong to sit in the dark on Halloween! I suggested this to DH but he is worried about his car (soft top) so we are giving them chocolate instead of ignoring them.

Hope all respective cats/dogs/horses (and other assorted animals of JSers) are all OK.

Now waiting (and I am a v impatient person!) to see if AF will arrive so that I can find out roughly how long my cycles will be. I have told my mum about TTC though and she said she got preg as soon as she stopped taking her pills. Nipples not hurting anymore though so no random preggo symptoms to make me think I might be.

Miffles · 31/10/2010 20:34

TTL wishes that was the case, Nelly!!

Popped to the shop to buy some food as completely out. Nearest open is a Marks and Spencers garage (such a hard life!) and for Sunday tea we have: white bread, blueberry muffins and chocolate. Not the most balanced diet...

NervousNelly · 31/10/2010 19:51

Haha I just realised I called you TT rather than TTL. You are now an honorary member of the band, clearly Wink.

takethatlady · 31/10/2010 19:24

Lol nervous you have just reminded me of all the threads I forgot to reply to. Naughty naughty vallinna. Where did you 'lose' your pill? In the bin? Grin And eskarina I'm glad you got out of the toilet alive, despite the mess you left behind Grin

Yep, the bean is obviously much more sensible than me. Averting all my disasters, imaginary and otherwise. It's probably quite happily growing along in there, rolling its eyes at its mother ....

Good luck to all the jumpers later!

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 31/10/2010 19:14

OK bit more time now to catch up. OH is going to get jumped again later though Wink

Eskarina, that Paris story is brilliant! I have a sort of Ab-Fab image in my mind Grin. The leaky boobs certainly sound hopeful? What does Dr Google say??

That sounds positive BB. 2ww madness then? [hwink]

30 great to have you back. Puppy sounds exhausting lots of fun! You and Brassica can swap notes/poo stories in good practice for a year or two's time :)

Vallina you sly dog. Lost pill packet indeed Hmm. Still, probably won't make too much difference and cuts a few days off the process!

That's the (JS) spirit miffles. I am definitely keeping the timing elusive for my OH, desperately trying to keep the romance in the whole process. And ironically, I'd say our relationship is getting even better for my efforts. Weird but welcome!

TT I hope the kidney infection clears up soon. It must be so frustrating knowing it could have been knocked on the head earlier; but keep calm, I'm sure it will all be fine. Sticky bean has coped with all the imagined woes so far Wink. Sounds like a patient and tough one in there :)

takethatlady · 31/10/2010 18:09

milano I am so sorry. All I can do is send lots of hugs your way. I hope your DH is pampering you and that you have had lots of time and space this weekend to feel whatever you feel. Sad

bb whoop whoop for ovulation. Got all my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Sad for all you guys who are hounded by Halloweeners. We bought a big box of miniature heroes in case anyone knocked, but we've eaten them all now so hopefully no-one will come!

Kidney infection still with me. Praying it doesn't do any damage. The antibiotics appear to be stopping it from getting any worse but it's still uncomfortable. If the symptoms don't subside tomorrow I'll go back to the docs on Tuesday.

Fed up of worrying already!

OP posts:
Eskarina · 31/10/2010 17:16

Vallinna No, not daft at all. I've just been terrified by a bunch of scary clowns (they were scarier than you might think) and am now dreading DH going out. I think I might also turn all lights out and hide in back bedroom (only room in house with windows facing away from street.)

To answer an earlier question, I'm on CD 37 but had a seriously weird cycle last month with spotting from days 21-34 then a sort-of AF that lasted a week (longer than usual) and was, ahem, very sludgy without much real red blood. I think I ovulated on CD21. Bloofy FF thinks I ovulated on CD 27 so by her calculations I'm not even late yet. [grump]

Doesn't help that DH is laughing at me about my sore boobs. But they're less sore today Sad so perhaps they were only sore because I poked them so much. Also, TMI alert when I poke them hard I get a small bead of white discharge. Could that be proto-breastmilk?? [hopeful]

vallinnapod · 31/10/2010 16:42

Teeheee Miffles not planned, completely unintentional...but it feels like a sign!! This part s just to give my a bleed so not officially started the protocol yet!

Is it wrong we are going to sit in the dark tonight to avoid trick or treaters?!

Miffles · 31/10/2010 16:18

Milano many hugs coming your way. Really sorry to hear that you've had to go through that. Hope you and are you DH are supporting each other.

Very pleased to hear that your body is obeying the rules BB and you have probably ov'd.

I jumped my DH today as well, Nelly. He thought he had another few weeks off til I start the clomid (since when do men want tome off?! Confused). But in the spirit of JSing I said it'd be fun anyway. Secretly thinking that we need his swimmers to keep being produced fresh and don't want any old ones hanging around!

Good to hear back from Eskarina and 30. Laughed so hard at your Paris toilet antics, Eskarina can just imagine that happening. You, totally bemused at why you were being shouted at, trying to do the right thing, but not knowing how to make your pee go and the lady stop shouting!! Really sounds like you're in with a chance this month. Fingers crossed.

And 30 - what fun! A puppy! Good idea to keep you busy and mind of TTC but putting in a bit of practice on clearing up poo!! What type is it and name?

At church this morning I was given a baby to hold. So cute and cheerful. His mum was singing on stage and couldn't spot her DH so I offered to hold the little one. When his dad came in I went and gave him back, and said how I'd enjoyed looking after him. The dad said I could keep hloding him through the service, but I realised everyone would then see me and may figure I'm so desperate for a baby I'm borrowing other peoples! Sigh.

Vallinna - was that planned carelessness, btw? The bloating got to you that much? Will the clinic realised that your protocol just got 3 days shorter?!
