The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Morning Viroids!

Got some cracking period pains going on so fingers crossed it arrives today or tomorrow and I can get sniffing!

TTL you made my day you funny lady! My judgy pants are not sure what to twist more at, the boobage or the fact you were in Wetherspoons Wink I went though a stage at uni where I used to flash regularly occassionally. Only ever the left boob. Clearly much prouder of it than the right...

Even better getting sacked form Maccy D's. I would like to think none of us were/are 'cut out' for a job there, we are all meant for higher things. Although I used to think I should have worked there at uni as it is a sure fire way to curtail a junk food habit Grin

crowette · 02/11/2010 10:26

Not sure about the consultants either Grin when I was PG with my eldest (17yrs ago!) I had my consultant appointment, he asked if I was planning to breast feed, I said no (planning to BF if I get pregnant again though) and he called me a stupid little girl. I'm a stubborn moo bag, so if someone nags me, I'm less likely to do what they want me to! As ex MIL found out - she also called me stupid when I was considering FF and told her I wasn't keen on the idea of BFing, so I went straight out and bought a bottle sterilsing unit :)

Hopefully since then they've got friendlier 'professionals' in!

Miffles · 02/11/2010 10:02

Crow - that's shocking! So appalling. I hadn't realised you were so badly treated. I have found that sometimes the more lowely staff can be so rude and unpleasant. But the consultants are nice. I just checked and Mr J Davies (my gynae) only works at WHH and RVH, not QEQM Sad

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 02/11/2010 09:47

So I'm not knocked up this month At least I didn't waste a pregnancy test to find out this time.

crowette · 02/11/2010 09:43

I'm not sure when my ex sil left there though, would be funny if it was her!

Not got as far as seeing a gynae yet - giving it another couple of cycles. I'm 38, so don't want to leave it too long though. Besides, after my treatment at QEQM when I was MCing (being told I wasn't pregnant in the first place and having my bloods waved in my face and being told 'I'm not even going to bother processing these or referring you to EPU') and my GP then telling me I'm too old and fat so may as well be thankful for the two DDs I already have Hmm I'm not much liking these so called health 'professionals' Sad

Miffles · 02/11/2010 09:35

Ha ha ha at TTL being sacked from McD's - maybe your actually weren't chav enough! And Crow - your ex SIL managing an unruley TTL. So funny!

Crow - have you seen an NHS gynae? Only cos it could be the same one as me! I'm under East Kent NHS Hospitals - the William Harvey, but the consultants normally cover all the hospitals inc QEQM.

crowette · 02/11/2010 09:27

TTL you may well have! I was born here, brought up in Birchington. Moved away when I was 33 and moved back this year. Now DP is getting itchy feet - he hates it here, feels like he is stagnating, which is how I felt! I want to move back to Scotland, DP says he quite fancies it too, if only it wasn't so cold there (he struggles with the cold, having almost no body fat )

My ex sis in law used to manage the Margate McDonalds Grin

BrassicaBabe · 02/11/2010 09:16

PMSL for takethat being sacked from McD's Grin

takethatlady · 02/11/2010 09:10

So glad you got the Clomid miffles

crowette how funny. I've probably seen you out and about - we go there a lot because of family, old friends, etc. Ahhh, glad you fell in love. It's worth it for that!

That was probably my cousin at the bus stop Grin

Anyway, no judgey pants for me anymore. I already told you about when I stood with my boob hanging out in the Wetherspoons on Margate seafront. I wasn't pregnant, but still ...

Plus when I was 16 I got the sack from the McDonalds in Margate because I apparently 'wasn't cut out for the job'.

So maybe it's me that's the problem!

Glad you got AF! Bring on another cycle!

Shock at sexist sex-ed videos cremegg!

Go back on the wine bb. You obviously need it Grin

Morning all,

Quick one as I'm at work, but wanted to share some "wisdom" from my consultant.

I said that my viroid friend was on clomid, got a BFN, AF came, took next 5 days of clomid, then BFP but miscarried. He said the clomid would NOT have caused this, it's not a problem in the unlikely event that happens, as it has no bearing on the baby. He explained that it's only from weeks 6-16 that problems from taking drugs, etc happens, as that is when the organs are forming. I hope that sets you at ease, BB.

Also, he was v laid back about us drinking. Few glasses a week was fine, he said, whilst TTC. Same principle - only from week 6 anything I drink affect baby.

So a cocktail during 2ww fine cremegg!

Gotta go, hope back later. x

crowette · 02/11/2010 09:06

Ah NMCB aren't Neds delightful?! Grin I spent a couple of years in Scotland and was amazed at the diets! It was rare for me to see anyone in the staff canteen eating vegetables - it was all spam fritters or scotch pies with chips and 'broon' sauce!

My DP is the opposite to me when it comes to judgyness - he'll tell me it's a shame, but what can we do, let them get on with it, blah blah blah. A few days after my MC I saw a heavily pregnant girl smoking - he saw my look of disgust (I can not, ever, hide my feelings, my face always gives me away!) and said it was her choice etc - I just went on a rant about how she may as well be getting the baby's umbilical cord and wrapping it around it's neck Blush In my defence, I was still very raw from everything!

I AM trying to take a leaf out of his book and be less judgemental, but I'm only human Wink

BrassicaBabe · 02/11/2010 08:46

Yeah for AF crow. We're a fickle bunch on this thread aren't we! WinkHmm

b2b Not sure on an answer to your question. I didn't realise until this month that you can ov after the OPK goes negative. If I were you I'd "shag on through". Go for Jsing CD14-CD18. Grin

Whoop Whoop for Clomid miffles!! Well done for being monitored too Hmm For all of the OPK madness I go through, I'd be proper mental if I didn't do them. Grin

And woohoo for sniffy drugs vallinna! Grin

Well the red-fecker's ugly sister FF decided that I did indeed ov 3 days ago despite my temps being quite low! Grin So I'm on CD17 and 3DPO today now.

Actually I'm wondering if my alcohol abstinence has affected my temps Confused I normally have at least a large glass of wine every night. The last 2 nights I've had a single v small glass. I have to say I'm not liking it and have gone to bed early grumping because I miss my wine! HmmGrin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 02/11/2010 08:38

Yay for that fat red lady finally singing for you Crow! PMSL at your judgie pant wedgie Grin

A few days back I saw a heavily pg girl in town (a Scottish chav I'm afraid) smoking and instantly had my judgie pants on. I tried very very hard to get them off again, telling myself maybe she has cut down and that's her only one for the day. Really didn't believe myself though if I'm quite honest. Mind you as scots have the highest rate of smoking (and obesity Sad) in Britain I'm really not surprised to see young pg girls with fag in hand.

Oh also I'd like to point out I haven't been eating quavers and choc cake at the same time, just in the same day.

crowette · 02/11/2010 07:32

Morning ladies!!

Woohooo - AF is finally here!! Going to keep an eye on my temps and CM properly this cycle, so I have a better chance of knowing what my decrepit body is doing Grin

cremegg · 02/11/2010 06:39

loving all the judgy pants action, my auntie has had 5 kids and drank and smoke with all of them.. then wonders why they all have asthma and behaviour issues... they also look about 3 yrs younger than they are as they are so tiny! my uncle has the 5 kids with her and 2 from his other 2 previous wives and he is such a heavy drinker/smoker/druggie so unfair and wrong! i remember seeing his fag packet once that warned 'smoking may cause impotence' irony. northants clearly has its fair share of chavs too!

am taking your advice ladies, cocktails on fri, but not gonna go mental! hopefully will find ones that are long so i can drag them out. hoping this 'drinking = pg' will work! (this sounds so hypocritical with above paragraph but u know what i mean!? am only in ttc month 2... if it takes years i think i would regret being so cautious so early!)

am also taking your advice bb and giving up on the non digi ov sticks, too much room for me to find a convenient theory for myself! and obsess!!

just had annoying yr 10s for sex ed this arvo, is v funny getting asked 'so when does ov happen'? when its what im spending my life spare time doing! not so fun watching patronising DVDs telling them that girls only ever want love not sex and boys just want sex! grr!

milano loving the 'fat red lady singing' image!

nomore choc cake and quavers i love individually (and cant get quavers here!!)but not feeling them together! had lovely key lime gu pud last night tho... hehe to ramekin opportunity there!

awful for lilly allen, but then clearly she didnt do herself any favours with the fags.

grand for holly w... good to keep up with brit gossip!!

crowette · 01/11/2010 22:17

yes I am Blush I did get away too, but moved back here in March after getting back in touch with my old school crush and us falling in love! The things we do eh?!

Oh yes Miffles Fanit chavs chav better than any other chavs, but Medway chavs give them a run for their money! It used to be lovely here, it does sadden m when I walk about Margate and it's full of young mums with loads of scruffy kids, effing and blinding at each other ... or the alckie ones.

Brighter news for me though (I hope) I think AF is finally on her way! Went to the bathrooom before going to the gym, and there was teeniest, tiniest bit of pinkish CM and my stomach is decidedly more crampy and heavier than of late! I have my new BBT thermometer, so hopefully can work out what the heck my body is doing soon Grin

baby2b · 01/11/2010 19:52

I have a little question, but it's not really in the just shagging spirit of things. It is defo tmi too!

If my opk shows positive on day 14, is it normal that I don't get pant snot (literally) until day 17/18? I think I read somewhere that the two were meant to happen at the same time? Hope that makes sense Hmm

baby2b · 01/11/2010 19:32

*ph? that was meant to say pregnant!

baby2b · 01/11/2010 19:31

Miffles I love, love, love the Popping candy/choc orange combo. Popping candy is my childish guilty pleasure Blush

That is awful news about lily Allen. Loving the judgey pants. Valinnapod I have seen a ph chavette just like that a few months ago...disgusting!

Miffles · 01/11/2010 19:17

I HAVE CLOMID!!!! Grin Very excited, as you can tell. Things are moving on in the Miffles household. Saw the FC again today and once AF arrives, I can start taking the pills. Day 2-6. Dildo cam (had to swallow my words not to say that to him!) internal ultrasound on day 12 or 14, and progerstrone CD21. So looks like I will be monitored.

Phew. What a relief. Still got to get a swimmer to get to the right place. And hope I do ovulate. But feeling more positive. He said to JS CD 12 and 14. Sounds simple! After hearing the heartache BB is going through, not planning on OPKing or temping. Will do 10, 12, 14 and 16 I hope.

Glad to hear milano is doing ok - more upbeat than I think I'd feel. Well done you.

Judgeypants are justified, me thinks. Even if we weren't having trouble conceiving, it'd be wrong to be drinking heavily when pg.

TTL and crow I'm not Thanet, but not far away...more south east Kent. They do know how to chav them in Fanit!! Shock at your cousing TTL - that is really not good!

Thanks for the choc cake NMCB, but the thought of choc cake and quavers at the same time doesn't appeal, TBH. Has anyone else tried the Terry's Choc Orange with Popping Candy? Tres tres good.

SingingMog · 01/11/2010 18:25

Glad to see everyone seems v positive today and enjoying the donning of the judgey pants. I saw a woman who must've been at least 5 or 6 months pregnant drinking beer on holiday. DH didn't notice! Obviously I scrutinise pregnant women more than him.

A work colleague had a baby girl today, so that was nice news. Heard about Lily Allen in the car on way home, very sad.

Vallinna - Willoughbooby!!!! LOL! Philip Schofield can't avoid getting eyefuls on Dancing on Ice!!

Cute child comment from plane on way home...
Sister: "What do clouds taste like?"
Brother: with conviction "Mashed potato".

BrassicaBabe · 01/11/2010 18:21

Blime crow I don't feel so bad about the small glass of wine I had last night not even having a bfp yet!! (I'm trying to cut out alcohol on this 2ww Sad)

takethatlady · 01/11/2010 17:15

crowette are you from Thanet?!!!

me too...

Lots of family, including mum and ILs still live there, but I got the heck away Grin

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 01/11/2010 16:52

Ahh Milano you're so sweet worrying about others when you're the one going through the wringer. Still plenty of horrid pg symptoms here so am 7 weeks today Grin. Have also discovered I can eat choc cake and quavers.

Feeling rather jealous of all the shagging you lot are having. The chocbikkie house has sadly become a shag free zone lately . Just really don't like the idea of throwing up all over DH and our bed.

Choc cake and quavers for all xx

crowette · 01/11/2010 16:11

Jumping in with the judgeyness here Grin I was waiting for the bus on Sat night and there were a group of young women waiting with me, all dressed up for a halloween party - one was sitting down and partly hidden from me, they were all talking about how drunk they already were, the one sitting down was saying about how she'd downed 2 litres of vodka the other week (probably exaggerating) inbetween reading out the sex texts she was getting from her boyfriend. She then stood up, nearly falling over because of her high heels and being drunk, and that's when I realised she was at least 6 months pregnant. Sad She was drinking vodka at the bus stop and bragging about how much more she was going to drink at the party. I was fuming!

Earlier in the day I was on another bus, and the woman next to me called her young son a 'fucking retard'.

Yup, welcome back to 'Fanit' Crowette Hmm

In other news, I tested again today and another BFN. Now on CD 46, still getting AF type cramps, but no sign of AF. Started charting my BBT the other day, but the thermometer stopped working this morning, so I need to go take it back!

Hugs to Milanomum - I'm taking the same attitude, I CAN get pregnant ... now I just need to know if I'm OVing at all and if my cycles will ever get back to normal!
