The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Hey girls,

Congrats to your sister bb. If you get your BFP soon you and your sister can go through it together :) MN really makes you feel much more precarious about pregnancies though, doesn't it? On the June thread it feels like every other person who's had their scan is coming back with bad news. I'm sure there are just more of us on these threads who've had problems than not - remember kitten? Those who haven't got probs tend to be on here for a bit but then be off and away. I'm sure your sister will be fine.

My my mum is driving me a bit mental because she doesn't get it that the pregnancy might not work out, despite what happened last time. We asked her to keep it low key, but she's texting and phoning all the time with excited pregnancy-related messages, trying to get us to go to her house in Christmas 2011 so she can see the baby at its first Christmas (never mind us or the other grandparents!), engineering ways to be at the birth, and has blatantly told people we asked her not to tell ... she also thinks I'm being over-anxious. Maybe I am, but I know nothing is set in stone yet. That's why I'm still loitering about on here driving all you guys nuts!

Anyway, really it's lovely that she's excited, and I am being a big mean grump.

nomorechoc good work with the gag reflex vodka :) Hope you are having a ms hangover-free day :)

321 hope you successfully wrestled your DH to the floor.

I made mine a lasagne, got him a beer, watched the footie with him (before Apprentice) and generally resembled a nice wife last night in the hopes that acting like one will actually turn me into one Grin No shagging though. At first I was irrationally afraid of shagging, then it turns out he is too in case it does any harm. We both know it won't and that this is ridiculous, but somehow we've restricted ourselves mainly to other stuff Wink since the BFP. Getting a bit silly now, so roll on the scan and a post-scan shagathon!

Good moaning

In the office today, but boss is working from home, so might manage some sneaky MNing.

AIBU is a dangerous place miffles Poor you.

CD5 and I've managed not to pee on any sticks yet.

I'm a bit worried that DH is a little too keen this month. After being a bit oblivious to the "how, what and when" aspects of TTC he seems more cluded up now. (finally listening?). But this means I've had jokes about eating for 2 and peeing on sticks. All very lovely, but there is no reason this month should be any different to the others and I don't want him to get too excited. However I fear it's too late.

In other news, my baby sister is pg. She's only 5 weeks. But her and DH are staying with mum and dad for a while so they didn't think they could keep it quiet. A bit scarey though as I and others on this great thread had MCed at weeks greater than than. Fingers crossed though.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/11/2010 09:08

Dyna I'm from NZ and living in Stirling. lived in Edinburgh for a short while though (now wonderng if I know you, hmm Grin) Also DS is proof that quite a bit of wine in the early weeks of pg is okay.

321 pant snot is a sign of ovulation, so i hope you've jumped your DH's bone well and truely! Grin ... Blush

well my excuse for not being about yesterday is that as soon as I saw the party mentioned on Tuesday I downed a bottle of my Russian Friend (vodka) and spent most of yesterday in bed feeling VERY sick. Okay so the first bit is wishful thinking a fib, but not the second bit.

I've never seen so many viroids so pleased to have the periods arrive. Roll on the madness huh? Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/11/2010 08:45

Oh Miffles haven't been on in a couple of days and just catching up and saw your post about you AIBU post and wanted to give you a HUGE hug. I posted in there once after my first MC and also ended up in tears. Honestly I believe that the people who frequent the board do it to get some kind of sadistic kick out of kicking people when they are down. I hate it and try to avoid those posts because of all the nasty hate filled replies.

Miffles · 03/11/2010 20:36

stop chatting on here, 321 and get shagging!!!

321sanitygone · 03/11/2010 20:18

Evenng everyone
I'm so with the whole pregnancy tests making you want to pee on them! Not this time round but when i was trying for baby 2 they were shouting that loud i could hear them in tescos never mind the one si had at home!!
Ok pant snot ladies...talk me through it (dear god not in too much detail though!) i ask because i've always ahd icky time sof the month where i've thought i was just a bit of a dirty bitch and needed to wash better cos it was rather horrid down there. Right now is one of those times. So pant snot is a sign of what exactly? Does it mean i have to take my husband upstairs and jump his bones like now?!

Miffles · 03/11/2010 19:58

tee hee - testing on CD2 mog!! Who would be that silly....Ha ha!!

So know what you mean about them calling to you. TTL - if I remember, you'd finished yours, so you must have bought MORE if you were testing again today!!

Agree - your DH is completely in the wrong. Totally. He should have known the dating scan was going to be booked then, and re-arranged the trip before you even had to tell him about the scan!!

And withdrawal method, I'd say, mog

takethatlady · 03/11/2010 19:52

Thanks mog, you're right. I knew he was to blame Grin

Quite right to kipper miffles. Sounds like you're perilously close to a kipper yourself.

I did another test today. I LOVE tests Grin

OP posts:
SingingMog · 03/11/2010 19:46

Cross-posted with TTL. It is not you developing an air of general lunacy - it is defo DH, he should know to tell you non-preg things at least 5 or 6 times before expecting you to remember Grin

SingingMog · 03/11/2010 19:43

Miffles I hearby kipper you! THWOCK (sound of kipper around the head)... I need a kipper too though as got preg tests from Sainsbury's with online shop delivered today and announced to DH that I would quite like to pee on one even though I am CD2 and not a cat in hells chance! He looked at me like I was loony. I haven't peed on one btw Smile Why do they make you want to pee on them?! I'll bet the first response is winking at Dynababy from the cupboard whispering at her to pee on it.

Yay for vallinna, sounds like even though long/short protocol keeps changing things are happening Smile

Don't think I'd fancy teaching sex ed to Y10s, doing music is enough for me! Someone passed me a PSHE lesson which had a bit in it about the "pull out method" for Year 7, 8 & 9 mixed form but I thought it was a bit much for the 11 year olds. Think they need to learn about sex first! We were all then debating if it was called the pull out method or the withdrawal method.

Am totally working with that 6 week window Miffles and great excitement about the dating scan TTL.

takethatlady · 03/11/2010 19:36

He he no kipper miffles, the due date calculator is a game of endless fun. I play with it every day in a bid to create a different due date for myself so that I can definitely go to see TT on 2nd July Grin

dynababy don't the French drink wine throughout pregnancy anyway?

OP posts:
Miffles · 03/11/2010 19:20

(if start on Friday, due date is 12th August 2011. Ok. Kipper me now Blush)

Miffles · 03/11/2010 19:09

Evening evening evening,

Quiet on here today - clearly the 2ww hasn't got started in earnest yet, and the rest of us are either on AF or waiting (still spotting, tho tiny bit more today :) ) Singingmog - I think we are getting in sync, aren't we! Love the fact you're checking for pant snot in order to be ready for seriously TTC in Feb....hee hee - we're converting her already viroids! Wink

What drugs are you sniffing exactly, Vallinna? Sounds intriguing! How can you be sure how much you sniff? What if you have a cold? How can that work?! Am I missing something Confused

Pants that ERTD is MIA Eskarina....we'll wait and maybe we can put up BFP bunting for you??? We're about due another one and we're always hopeful.

Cremegg - wow, teaching sex ed to 10yos. That's heavy! I'd struggle seeing foetal development when I want that so much. Had to go into Mothercare today to exchange a gift for someone and walked out quickly, not glancing left or right! Didn't want to see what I'm not able to enjoy at the moment.

Dating scan TTL - yay!! What a useless midwife. How rubbish to not be able to speak to her. Well done for getting things sorted. Just over 2 weeks to wait... Annoying about the cold pregnancy rhinitis.

Dynababy - what a life you lead! India today, Paris next week. None of this Thanet business for you! I'd agree with Darkstar - enjoy your trip and don't worry. Obviously don't go crazy. But the test won't actually confirm anything for you. And as my consultant said (I'm hanging onto this, can you tell!) it's not til 6 weeks that things affect the foetus. No organs and no placenta hook up yet. According to thread rules, you'll have more chance of a BFP if you do drink!

Am off to try and calculate - if ERTD starts in the next day or two, and if clomid were to work first time, when my due date would be..... No one kipper me, please, let me have my fun...Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 03/11/2010 18:46

Thanks Dynababy, after a horrible day yesterday I am feeling chipper and have already noted next month's likely fertile dates in my diary Grin Had to do something to cheer me up at work after we all got notice of the 'at risk' letters being sent out next week!

Re. early testing, I don't think it's very useful at all. There used to be regular threads on here entitled 'Step away from the First Response!' that gave the stats for accuracy on each day leading up when period was due and then afterwards, and the difference was amazing. Personally I would just go, relax and do what you please, but I can understand why you might not.

Dynababy · 03/11/2010 17:45

evening all, walked right into the party yeah!!!

Loving the new slightly mental chat that judgy pants has brought on Grin TTL sooo funny you were sacked from MD mwwaahhhaa!!

I'm MN'ing from hotel room in india can you tell how boring this business trip is?? Nevermind off to Paris next week for fun not work with DH Grin

Miffles yay for clomid and spotting!! BB I'm in same boat but 5DPO .. want to test already but being away means I can't poas when i know it'll be neg anyway as so early.

Darkstar sorry your not upduffed, there is always next month.

Does anyone know when preg test get properly accurate have some first response at home and was wondering if I tested on monday before going to paris if it would be accurate? Since havng 4 pints at the weekend decided to not drink but would love some yummy wine in Paris (proper large glasses) but daren't have any more until I know one way or another. Any advice appreciated.

NMCB and Crowette are you both Scottish, I'm in and from Edinburgh!?

takethatlady · 03/11/2010 10:54

Oh eskarina how annoying. Yay for long protocol vallinna, sounds like your body is finally getting there Smile

cremegg you are a better woman than me. 2 years at McD's? Loving that we've all moved on from fast food and funfairs since the 90s Grin

I've got a cold and no morning sickness but still sore-ish boobs. Just booked my dating scan. Have tried the midwife twice a day since last Thursday but she never turns her phone on and tells you not to leave a message. So I booked my scan without her Grin 19th November @ 8.15am. We're seeing good friends on the 20th so if, fingers fingers fingers crossed, there's a heartbeat, we'll probably tell them then.

Right, back to the sneezing, which I am slowly convincing myself is 'pregnancy rhinitis' and not a cold.

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 03/11/2010 10:49

Morning!!

So, scan this morning and another change in opinion, although confirmed by the consultant this time, to long protocol. Soooo, 2 weeks sniffing then another scan on 16th Nov.

cremegg · 03/11/2010 06:56

i think i missed the party lol!
CD20 here... gonna hav to hide the pack of tests i have next week, i have no patience!
DH actually said this week 'i think ive made you pg as i felt sick this morning, maybe its sympathy symptoms' ha! lol! guess he's feeling left out already!

had better sex ed lesson with horrible yr 10s today, got them to watch 4d scans on youtube to see foetal development ;)
TTL must be crappy have to carry on lecture with pain and symptoms.... i struggle to teach with a cold!
i worked at maccyds for

SingingMog · 02/11/2010 23:20

Grrrr to the late ERTD Eskarina. People usually say no news is good news, but on here we seem to prefer the opposite!!

I am also curious about the scary thread Nervous! Might have a snoop on there and see what is going on. Should go to bed really though...

Eskarina · 02/11/2010 23:14

Hiya, I am here but lurking a little as there is absolutely NOTHING going on. CD 39 today and I've felt like AF is about to arrive for days now, but no sign of the fecker. Really really fed up. Boobs no longer sore, and as I seem to have ovulated late then I doubt we got the JS window anyway. Seriously fecked off with the whole thing and my uterus in particular.

Sorry, that was a self-centred rant, hence why I've been lurking rather than posting.

Love the idea of a party though. Will put bunting up when my ERTD finally arrives (prob tomorrow morning right in the middle of a really boring course I'm going on)

NervousNelly · 02/11/2010 22:48

Evening all - I think I'm too late to the party and you've probably gone to bed. Anyway, I'm just going to wander around the abandonded leftovers, downing the dregs in all the cocktail glasses. Classy me Grin.

Hope you are all well. If a little (virtually) drunk. Great news that we have so many wanted AFs. Now we're probably getting to the 2WW where the rest of us don't want to see the red fecker thanks very much!

Miffles you've made me want to go and find the thread and see just how nasty it is. Honestly, where do some people get off? I hate the way people hide behind anonymous internet personas and turn into big bullies Angry. Talk about Judgey Pants Hmm

Anyway way too much to catch up on - been really busy at work the last couple of days. Think I either OV'd today or yesterday but just managed the one shag this time as OH was away. So I think chances are thin, but I'll no doubt go steadily crazy over the next couple of weeks. In good company though!

crowette · 02/11/2010 22:36

NMCB I lived in Renfrewshire Blush I actually loved it there! The only reason I left was because I lived in a grotty flat that had extreme damp that the landlord was not getting sorted and I hated the thought of another winter in there. Was on my own, low wage and couldn't afford to put the electric convector heaters on Sad

TTL I also worked in Dreamland Grin albeit when I was still at school - as a weekend job. Was in the cafe under the Scenic Railway.

321sanitygone · 02/11/2010 20:28

Ah i see Miffles well i think i will have to have a celebatory glass of wine to properly toast your good news

SingingMog · 02/11/2010 20:07

Obviously I did well by posting on this one first then, don't like the sound of those strict/nasty type of threads...

I'm joining the party cos AF has come to see me too! Yay! First proper post-pill AF. Is it possible to get in sync over the internet? Wink Next thing I need to pant-watch for is pant snot! Suppose I should start making a record of when these things happen Confused for when we officially get serious about ttc (which is supposed to be February but we are being relaxed till then).

I was wondering about Josie and Eskarina too, and welcome to 123.

My DH suggested McDs for tea tonight. He is classy Grin I said no though, he even tried to have one when we were on holiday but ended up just having a large drink!!

Now where's that imaginary pink wine.....

Miffles · 02/11/2010 20:04

Thanks TTL - does make me feel better hearing you say that. I was surprised how they attacked me!

321 - clomid is a drug given to people to cause ovulation. I have polycystic ovary syndrome and don't ovulate. So no chance of actually getting pg! Went to the doc in May about it and finally got the drug I need from the fertility consultant yesterday. So now the fun can begin! BrassicaBabe is taking it too, and you'll see there is a whole clomid thread as well.
