The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Next Sat morn (fri eve for you gals) is gonna be the time for me, as by then the Red Fecker should have arrived. Lol to the test bb, i so wanted to today. Every time i go to the loo DH is expectantly dancing around outside... even though I told him im waiting til sat :o So shall we all test together?! tho will you still be pari' dyna? have a fab time and enjoy the fromage and vino! (unless you get a BFP obv!)

i have been feeling really anxious this wknd, prob just need to do some exercise but just layed around today.

just spoke to 'rents, mum was talking about getting some sloe gin in at crimbo for us, i wanted to say 'ooh i might not be able to drink' but think its a bad idea as they are no doubt gonna be happy with grandchild idea but peeved as we live in aus (they will prob expect us to move home) so cant say im looking forward to that chat entirely esp if i dont need to have it yet!

prob should get ready for work, cant say im a fan of sunday eve, its always a sleigh ride into work! have a good day all xx

BrassicaBabe · 07/11/2010 10:13

Yeah for red-fecker esk Bunting hanging for every available hook Grin

dyna and creme Are we going to have a test fest next Saturday then? Or is Friday bettern?! Grin I'm 8DPO today, creme is 7 or 9 DPO dyna is 9DPO today. I'd like to hold off until at least Friday. I did a test Blush yesterday but it was of course BFN at 7DPO. Today I quite easily managed to hold off. So my resolve is back in place.

dyna I'm in IT too. Not in a bank though.

I'm quite grumpy at the moment. DH and I decided that I'd cut back on the alcohol during 2WW. And there is nothing you want more than when someone tells you you can't have something. Hmm

Dynababy · 07/11/2010 09:12

Meant to say expecting a lot!

Dynababy · 07/11/2010 09:10

Darkstar kippering indeed for testing when the red one was there! Ha ha.

Eskarina your going to doc next week so they will give you the help you need so probably best to leave the CBFM on the shelf for now, could be expensive waste if you get some kind of help from the doc.

Cremegg I have such a big mouth all my close friends know we're TTC - not family though as my mum would be too excited and want constant updates! I think this does add pressure but they're close and I'd want to talk to them if something good or bad happens. A couple of them have been through TTC, MC and long waits and come out otherside so understand. Unfortunatley one of the others told another group of friends(not as close) when we were at a wedding making me embarrassed she was a bit tiddly on the champers though and realised what she'd done when it came out!! Too much pressure going it alone without talking but that might just be me! Wish you lots of luck for friday! Maybe the boozy night will by thread rules mean its a BFP, here's hoping Wink I'm due Thursday and will on be hols, hopeing its the lovely end to our time in Paris but won't be too diaspointed if not as its only cycle #2 of trying so it would be expected a lot!

cremegg · 07/11/2010 01:28

dyna and bb am so with you on the wanting to test! am either 8DPO or 6 i think... should know by Friday around 6pm lol!

managed to consume 3 cosmos, 2 amaretto and cokes and a voddie lime and soda on fri... oops!! was a little dodgy yesterday and so tried to convince self that these were symptoms but obv was hangover. Hoping that the Doc who said it doesn't matter this early is correct (also hoping that the tread rule works!)

have volunteered to help at hideous school disco fri eve in attempt to distract self, will be torture but will def stop POASing!

also, in merry state on fri i told my friend we're TTC, such a big mouth so no doubt now will have to update her Hmm

esk my DH is the same, so far every stick ive bought has been met with the same 'how much?' response, so ive taken to rounding the price down somewhat. but Hmm to 2nd hand monitor?! sounds like AF enjoyed torturing you this month, yay to her arrival tho. i think im better during AF stage as at least i know... this unknown stage is crap.

ttl your poor DH!! that is a nightmare scenario, did he get the next morning off?!

nmcb howd it go telling family?! exciting!!

well should prob go look busy as DH has been weeding and tidying while ive been 'checking my emails'...

Eskarina · 06/11/2010 22:50

I think it should by my DH on this thread not me Grin. I said to him this evening "shall I buy a little machine that I pee on every morning and it tells us when we can have sex?" His response was somewhat underwhelmed but he's not going to be told by a urine-soaked bit of machinery when to DTD Wink. He's suspicious enough of the internet telling me when to do it. Then I told him how much it costs and he went off into a rant about how people are exploiting women's hopes in order to make money etc etc.
So I won't be buying one of the 23 CBFM's I'm watching on ebay then as far as DH knows anyway--

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 06/11/2010 19:47

Dynababy I nearly earned the kippering of a lifetime today when I actually contemplated POAS while having my period Blush Got carried away thinking about all my symptoms: nausea, exhaustion, clumsiness/forgetfulness, weeping mania...nothing to do with the 3 week long chest infection plus DS's cold that I've caught, obv Hmm

Even more stupid than that, I didn't have any symptoms with DS, none at all. So wtf am I obsessing over them now, when it only ticks me off?

Eskarina thank goodness I was too lazy to figure out how FF works Grin And yay for being on the rag at last, may it be the start of something good.

Dynababy · 06/11/2010 16:18

YAY Eskarina bunting out big time!!
Erm not sure how I'd tell my mother that I had my period... maybe just wait and see if she asks about it net time you talk?

Pant snot wishes with you! I've been on the grapefruit and not noticed a huge diff but this was only in first couple of weeks, see what happens next month if ERTD gets me.

Dynababy · 06/11/2010 16:10

Hello all! Well I'm now 8DPO...wanting to test but know its still too early! Tell me its too early so I don't waste my time and a pee stick please!

Now for imaginary symptom spotting, I wasn't feeling preg but now have had heartburn for no apparent reason and have been feeling some twinges in the region of the baby house.. something or nothing, time will tell. BUT like you BB I'm VERY impatient now... it seems the closer you get to ERTD the harder the wait becomes and the more alluring the pee sticks become. Must resist!

NervousNelly didn't know you were in Edinburgh! I might know you then.. when it comes to this place there are only 2 degrees of seperation, its like a village! Sounds like you might be where I left (RBS?)...I'm now with the new Bank on the block, unfortunately their T&C's aren't like regular Banks. So if I get upduffed I'll be poor until I drag my sorry ass back to the office.

Thanks for all the replies on maternity packages confirms what I thought most people don't just get statutory. Thinking about it companies should be up front on all their benefits not just the obvious as I couldn't ask before I started as you know what would have happended!!

NMCB I work in IT so defo not me that cashed your cheque Grin. Hope your feeling better and that breaking the news of your wee bean is fun!

TTL hope your DH got back safe and sound and you have managed to do the ncessary! Waking up crying in pain no good..

Hope all ERTD missing in action come now, you all need and deserve it. Enjoy your Saturday nights viroids. I'm of the a wet firework party! Will take mind off POAS anyways Grin

Eskarina · 06/11/2010 15:14

Put up that bunting ladies, the ERTD has arrived! Though I can hardly call it an ERTD when I'm pleased to see it. Perhaps my expensive stick did some good afterall Grin

Daft thing is I had a bit of a chat with my mum about it this morning, to see if she remembered any more about what the conclusion was around why I was so ill when I was a teenager. She didn't and I think I've just worried her that she'll never have grandchildren Sad We're not normally people to talk about this kind of thing, so now I feel like I've made a fuss out of nothing. How does one inform one's mother that period has arrived? Blush

SingingMog Step away from FF! As soon as you get suckered in to putting your temperature in each day, you think it won't matter if you peek at your stats, then you end up cursing and pleading with the fecker to tell you that you're ovulating/chances are good/get a greeen traffic light.

(says she who's googled CBFMs today and is watching about 10,000 of them on ebay. Is it manky to have a second hand pee monitor? I did though resist buying a copy of TCOYF in a charity shop today, although that was mostly because I couldn't face looking either the punk-y looking teenager or sweet old lady on the desk in the eye whilst buying such a thing. And I thought £3.49 was a but steep for a dog-eared book from Oxfam)

I shall be dosing myself up on Evening Primrose Oil and grapefruit juice for the next however long, in an attempt to get some pant snot this month. I only seem to get any right at the end of the cycle, and then only pathetic watery stuff, no EW in there at all.

SingingMog · 06/11/2010 13:44

DH would be freaking out if he read that!!

Miffles · 06/11/2010 13:20
SingingMog · 06/11/2010 12:26

Lol at PIAJP Miffles! I got excited the other day because I found some ramekins in the back of one of the kitchen cupboards. Sad, I know.

twowoulddo has made me feel a bit better about joining FF. It was down to your influence Eskarina Grin I feel like I should be doing something since official ttc not till Feb, although this is because DH wants baby to be oldest in school year. Check due date predictor on FF and found out we could start in Jan (although did have to guess ov date). Kipper please.

Hope the HCPs manage to work out where your AF is Eskarina. Poobags to BFN from expensive stick.

I have been tidying this morning as DH doing revision class at school for a couple of extra hours pay. Excitement when another cat came into the garden and Buster wanted to get him, but glass was in the way!

Hope your DH does not suffer too badly with the hoardes of children on the coach TTL. It is bad enough when on schedule!

Good luck telling in-laws about the bean NMCB.

Right, think I just heard car. Going to make myself look like I've been v busy....

BrassicaBabe · 06/11/2010 09:08

When am I testing? Not at 7DPO I can tell you! HmmBlush

LOL for twowoulddo and her TTC PA Grin

Eskarina · 06/11/2010 08:30

Grin Twowoulddo Stick around. You'll make me feel better about my membership of Fertility Friend, my daily nemesis. Smile Sorry you're feeling poorly

So, in an effort to increase the fortunes of the Clearblue empire, I POAexpensiveS this morning. I don't know why I thought it would be better than the ebay cheapies as at 17DP'O' if I'm pg then surely anything should be able to tell. BFN of course.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/11/2010 08:28

Ha ha 2WD it's funny how easy it is to 'accidentally' buy things online Grin. No need to get your coat, someone who hasn't got a major fish aversion while be along to kipper you shortly Smile

Off to the inlaws fot the weekend. Wish me luck for a) the 3 hour train ride and b) telling them about jelly bean. Ekk! Grin Also telling my parents tomorrow, but Mum knows we're trying so they shouldn't be to surprised.

twowoulddo · 05/11/2010 22:55

Hi all,

apologies for no personals as I am v v sick, poorly, sorry for self.... blah blah!

Anyway after stepping in here on Friday I somehow accidentally just purchased a CB Fertility monitor on Amazon.... I'll get my coat...

Blush

I'm viewing it as my TTC PA.

Miffles · 05/11/2010 22:11

Crap about broken down coach TTL....he's welcome to call in here on the way through if he needs a loo stop...Folkestone...

Any bowel movement yet TTL? And NMCB - found a bung?! Wink

Mog - if you're waiting for pant snot and only 4 days from start of AF, then you're minus DPO at the mo! Lol at DH's and smells...all too familiar with that in the Miffles household too.

I now have an official pee pot. Sadly it is not a ramekin Sad. DH is being strict on eating (I tend to get a bit calorie happy in the supermarket) so wasn't keen on the Gu idea. It did sound a bit odd when I tried to insist it had to be a Gu ramekin! Anyway, I now have a washed out jelly pot Grin. Hoping it won't need to see me through too many pees!! So am I PIAJP? Not that I am right now (have I mentioned I'm STILL WAITING?!!)

BB - when are you testing?

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 21:42

Nothing to say here either except nmcb how can we go anywhere else? The June thread freaks me out. Pregnancies going wrong in ways I never knew they could at alarming rates, and too many people to keep up with, and always more horrible news. Hopefully after the first trimester it'll be easier (if we're still there. Touch wood. )

And esk, Shock at your doctor! I'm surprised you've ever gone back to a medical professional after that!

Just watched The Blind Side which was crap but made me cry, I hope because I'm pregnant and not because I have had a taste implant. DH is meant to be back from the Somme but the coach has broken down an hour away from Calais, and they've missed the ferry, and the school he teaches at it north of Cambridge, so there's a drive from Dover to school (and then back home again) to go. He left at 4 this morning and the new ETA is 4 tomorrow morning! Apparently the kids (13 and 14) are turning into a monstrous horde ...

Loving the phrase "upduffed". Grin
sympathy for the sickness to TTL and NMCB but at least it's good sickness. Grin Don't go sloping off to the pregnant people board. Keep us company here!

See, I have nothing to say, just wandering by..

SingingMog · 05/11/2010 21:03

Grrr to all the vomming going on. Don't go away and complain in another forum NMCB, you should be with your viroids when you need them!

I don't know how many DPO I am Miffles as this is first proper AF since stopping the pill. I am CD4 and in midst of PSW (pant snot wait). I suppose I could pee on one...... [hopeful face]. Am liking Brassica's idea about POAS. Just said to DH "Do you think I should pee on a stick?" and he just laughed at me and then said I should give it a few minutes (he has been in there making smells). At least he didn't say no!!!

Glad to hear you got an appointment Eskarina. I hope the HCP is lovely and nice.

Think I would get OK maternity package if I were to become upduffed. Maybe I should check these things out as prob should know about it rather than being Confused.

Buster (cat) is very very scared of all the fireworks and is hiding in a corner of the room, poor thing.

Miffles · 05/11/2010 20:52

Ugly Betty was good this week. I love her! They have def made her a bit prettier though. Amanda has some classic lines. Hope you find it, NMCB and hang around here as long as you like. :)

Well done eskarina - hope you'll feel more relaxed knowing something is happening.

Got my next appt with the FC - 6th Dec. He's seeing us again to see how the clomid is doing. That's if I ever get to take the frigging thing!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/11/2010 19:51

Cringing for your teenage you Esk.

I am feeling irrationally irrational about the fact that this weeks Ugly Betty isn't on 4OD yet. I'mtoo sick to get out of bed and watch real TV though and I'm getting a little bored (oh yes the vomits kicked in properly this afternoon). I know I should go and complain on the pg people board, but the viroids are silent and the June thread is having another depressing day, so sorry complaining here instead (just keep the kipper away from me though).

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 17:51

Right. I have a doctor's appointment for next saturday morning, the earliest I can get. If I'd said it was an emergency I could have gone today, but I didn't think I could get away with that. I asked to see the femal GP at the practice in the hope that it'll be less embarrassing discussing my "bits" with her.
When I had problems as a teenager (actually remarkably similar, ERTD buggered off for about 10 weeks and I was really ill) my mum took me to the GP. Saw a locum and when he read my name he said something like "Aha. So your father was a fan of Felicity* somebody-or-other then. She's a porn star" Then we discussed my bits and bobs with him thinking about porn.

*I'm not really called Felicity, but my name is similar in that it's a real name, not unknown but not very common. And I like Felicity as a name!

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 17:07

We need to send a search party out for all those missing AFs. There are about 3 of them missing, aren't there? Hopefully at least one of them is missing for the right reasons Wink

miffles I want to tell you you're wrong, but you know I can't Grin

321 think you need to shag during, not after, pant snot. And as far as I understand it pant snot is more reliable than maths Wink. Glad your DH is up for some more productive shagging!
