The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Thanks Miffles. Actually work isn't the main problem, although it will be after tomorrow as that's when my friend leaves and I officially take over everything! It's more a combination of work and problems with horses yard really stressing me out. I've made myself known at work though, everyone knows I'm not happy Grin. Stupid thing is, I'll work my butt off getting everything done, and done well, and I'll get no recognition whatsoever.

Sorry, I don't mean to whinge, I've just got so much to spout off about I can't help myself!

Miffles · 08/11/2010 14:11

to Josie. Your body knows what you can and can't cope with, so glad you feel it is a blessing not to be pg this month. Having said that, if you were, you'd cope! Really hope you get the support you need at work. Make sure you make yourself heard if you need help. x

Miffles · 08/11/2010 14:07

BB - are you really thinking of IVF already? But you're only cycle 1 of clomid and it worked in theory. Is it cos of the MC?

JosieSmith1 · 08/11/2010 14:06

Hi everyone

Thanks Miffles and Brassica. Things are really difficult right now, so difficult that I?m actually glad my temps are going back down and it seems I?m not pg this cycle. I couldn?t cope with it at the moment and the amount of stress I?m feeling it wouldn?t be good for me or a baby.

Nervous mine is only in as there?s no grass, never has been this year but I?m having such an awful time at my yard I?m waiting for the owner of a smaller one nearby to get back from her hols then beg her to make me a stable! I?m really desperate! I?m praying for the snow to stay away, she went lame as she was stuck in last year (yard owner doesn?t get any grit and we can?t give them hay in the fields so she can?t get out at all, was in for 3 months last year and got arthritis), whereas in this other yard, the fields are a few steps away, they grit, and put them out with a big rolled out bale of hay so they?re happy as larry out in the snow. (sorry for hijacking thread with horsey talk Grin)

Sorry people are getting sick, but it?ll all be worth it Smile

I might not be on much again, friend leaves tomorrow and I?m really feeling the pressure, not just from work, had a bit of a cry in the kitchen yesterday cos DH asked if I wanted a hug Blush. Anyway, I?ll try and at least lurk and keep up with any BFPs!

Miffles · 08/11/2010 14:04

Well done on resisting the early testing viroids. It does sound like it causing more harm than good. Listen to the wise words of NMCB!!

NMCB - bunting was for clomid. Which I have. But AF hasn't come calling just yet - thought it was, as had v light spotting, but pettered out and nothing for about 6 days now. Only had my last on about 2 and half weeks ago, but that has been my normal cycle length!

Gotta go - at work and screen on view. But I'm so with you Nickelbang about the spotting getting hopes up. We'll get there! Keep positive! (and do cry on DH if you need to - that's what they're there for!)

nickelbangBANGbang · 08/11/2010 14:01

thanks you two! i know it's early days, and i try to reason with myself on that, but it is disheartening.

I'll get used to it.
:)

milanomum · 08/11/2010 14:00

How lovely NMChoc!

The BESHs are funny as hell. I don't feel like a fully-fledged member, but like to pop in there occasionally. They make me larf.

Nikel - Sorry you are feeling so low. There's a particular point which is really hard to get past and it's after about 3 or 4 cycles because you can forgive the first one or two not working, but then the enthusiasm runs out and you start worrying. Tis crap, but it will pass and then you'll turn into the hardened TTC-er. I'm on cycle 7 or 8 or something (didn't really try the first month and was away from DH another time over 'the window' so only really about cycle 6, but feels much longer). I'm now much more 'what will be, will be' but don't know how long that'll last for Hmm
BB fingers crossed for you but don't test early because if it's a BFP hiding in a BFN (if you see what i mean) you'll only get depressed whereas if you wait a bit longer it'll be a real and proper BFP .

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 08/11/2010 13:44

nickelBANG you've only been trying a short while, haven't you? (Not a stalker, just remember you got married recently and then posted about buying folic acid.) I know how infuriating this is, but please believe me that everyone feels like you do right now for most of the time they are ttc. We tried for a year to get DS and every single month I felt just the same as you. That year felt so long. But we got there, and now I can look back and see that it was a pretty average length of time to conceive, particularly given our circumstances (horrible family stress all year).

ttl glad to hear you've had an 'Allied Carpets' moment Grin

NMCB hooray for joyful reactions :) As an aside, your name is currently one of DS's favourite phrases: 'no choc bics?' said with hopeful expression, usually followed by a grave reminder that they are 'all gone' Grin

nickelbangBANGbang · 08/11/2010 13:08

you need to talk to me about implantation bleeding, periods and stuff.

I'm getting rather annoyed with the JSing thing. :(

i didn't even care that much about having a baby, and I had agreed with myself that if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.
but now I'm upset that i don't think it will ever happen.

like, this month, after we've been JSing a bit (and waving legs in the air - that bit was funny Grin ), I been feeling quite fat, and also been feeling a bit queasy after eating.
(this is 2-3 weeks)

but I started bleeding last night, which means period, of course.

I know it's my period, and I'm really sad about that, so why does part of me still hope that it's really implantation and it'll stop?

it doesn't help that my period is always stupidly light for 2-3 days first before it all starts heavily.

i don't want to feel upset about it, but i feel like my whole body is just withered and barren.
:(

(i nearly cried on DH last night when I told him I had my period, but held it back because I didn't want him to see me react like that, when I'm supposed to be all "if it happens it happens"

BrassicaBabe · 08/11/2010 12:48

I know what you mean sleepy. This is month 10 for me and cycle 9. I'm already planning with the conversation with the useless consultant on Wednesday when I ring for my day 22 blood tests results where I ask for IVF referral. Sorry for your BFN. Sad

(BESH probably came about in the same way our viroid did. It's the 30s TTC bunch - Barren Evil Selfish Hags. Although I'm sure that's not true! Grin)

Hope you are stil snorting drugs vallinna

Hanging onto to nomore's advice about early testing.....

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/11/2010 12:28

Hurray for the 'clear out' TTL

The truth is I tested +ive at 10DPO this time, which due to my short luteal phase thingy was the day before period was due. But I don't want to tell you all this as it'll be taken as encouragement to test early. The last 2 +ives came about 18 days DPO and didn't hang around beyond 20DPO. Early testing is EVIL and should be avoided. Keep yourselves in ignorant bliss for as long a possible. Grin

Miffles I thought AF had arrived? was it just messing with your head? Boo! You poor thing.

Anyone been snowed on?

SleepyCaz · 08/11/2010 12:23

Hello Viroids.

Been away for a bit so not been able to catch up on anyones news/gossip.

Just had ANOTHER BFN :( Fed up. It's NEVER going to happen is it?

Also, just cos I'm nosy, what do PESH and BESH stand for?

vallinnapod · 08/11/2010 11:55

Morning - lurking here!

GL and HOLD OUT Wink to all the testees out there

x

takethatlady · 08/11/2010 09:49

Yep, it was 9DPO, though I posted the pic on here and nobody could see anything Wink. Nor could DH, he said.

10DPO I did the digital and it said Pregnant 1-2.

Since then, in a bid to convince myself I'm more pregnant than I really am, I've added a couple of days to that, making it 11 and 12DPO that I tested at Grin

DH didn't have to get the next day off as he's a teacher and it was Saturday, so he slept til 12 and then we had our first pregnancy shag Blush. We have been doing other stuff but been a bit reticent about the shagging. It was good. Not as good as milano though, by the sounds of it!

nmcb well done on telling your parents. Glad it went down well!

cremegg did you have the scrambled egg on toast? I think this is a perfectly good dinner. To make it even more nutritious I usually add Heinz spaghetti, preferably in alphabetti form Grin. It's one of my favourite dinners.

Only news here is that I am shitting myself about teaching today as I have been too tired to bother to prepare properly (teaching in ten minutes and then again at 11). Luckily I mean that literally, so 10 days of pain appears to be over Grin

BrassicaBabe · 08/11/2010 09:04

Morning all. Got a really crap week at work lying ahead of me. Not looking forward to it. All leading up to likely possible red-fecker at the weekend. Hmm

Yeah, you are right dyna I'm unlikely to last until the weekend to test too! Grin Enjoy Paris too! Envy

PMSL for milano peeing on wooden sticks. Leave the kitchen wooden spoon alone though won't you! Grin

If I am symptom making up spotting, then the only thing I have to report is one that matches takethat. Blush I'm a bit bunged up. In hindsight this happened last cycled before I MCed. But I think I'm imagining things.

creme takethatlady tested at 9DPO. It stuck in my mind Smile But that didn't work for me this morning Wink

Miffles · 08/11/2010 09:04

Have a good time away Dyna and really hope you have some GOOD news!

Nothing going on this end. Still no AF, so still no clomid taken. Half wondering if I could be pg - but that is just craziness. Spotting doesn't tie in with anything. 11 days after one AF, got 2 days of V V light spotting. Unless it was ovulation bleeding (how novel?!) in which case I didn't shag right and am on a 2ww. Dunno. UURRGH!!

Dear Mr cremegg - if I'm a really good girl, please may I have a nice new pair of curtains for Christmas? Thank you. I have left out mince pie and sherry for you and the reindeer. Love Miffles.

Dynababy · 08/11/2010 08:36

Morning, baby2b when are you testing?? Your same as me now 11DPO .. when I write that I want to test!! Must stay strong though!

I really hope for some BFP's this week, out of 4 of us surely 1 must be preg...sorry for the weird and illogical logic, but kinda not really stands up when you think each will have an approx 20-30% chance if we timed well.. Here's hoping for at least 1!

Milano I'm jealous!!

Singing you sound like me, you need to tell someone as heart too firmly on sleeve. I just can't tell my mum though as she would be calling everday to find out if I was upduffed yet!

NMCB pmsl at cremegg being married to Santa. Cremegg never heard that turn of phrase but I know what you mean about Sunday nights! Good question from you to our pregnany viroids..I'd really like to know!

I'm off later and won't be taking laptop to Paris! So next time I post i'll have some news..AARRGGHH! Goodluck cremegg, BB and baby2b!!

cremegg · 08/11/2010 07:45

hehe just re read my post,i am clearly nuts! by sleigh ride into work i mean on sunday night i start getting ready/mark some work/plan some lessons so by the time its sunday eve it just feels like its the working week again! lol to craziness... i live in adelaide (and i think its the xmas pageant next wknd so maybe will get real sleigh ride!)

other news... nearly POAS when i got home (had the box out and everything and was v encouraged by 'can test 5-7 days before periods due' but then thought about morning wee rule and backed away from ramekins. close call tho!Blush

yay to family reactions nmcb :O

:o for milanos rampant Jsing ;)

nmcb and ttl when did you test and get the bfp?? need inspiration to wait a bit longer...

SingingMog · 07/11/2010 22:45

Good reactions then NMCB! The thought of labour makes my brain freeze. Why do we voluntarily do this?! Biology is strange.

I am quite excited for Friday to see if any BFPs. Also it is my birthday Smile which hopefully means lots of JSing.

Darkstar don't feel bad about wanting to POAS during AF, I felt the same a couple of day ago but managed to hold off.

FUN, rampant sex, Milano?! Naughty Wink

I have told my mum, dad, sister, some friends (but not all) and DH's mum about us "thinking about trying to have a baby, maybe in February". I have noticed that since we got married people keep asking. Wonder why people ask that, you'd think they'd have more tact as how do they know if you haven't been trying already. Mind you, I am a bit of a heart-on-the-sleeve type so they probably all figured they'd know about it if we'd been trying!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 07/11/2010 21:25

Haha Dyna, maybe Creme doesn't really live in Aussie, but is enfact married to Santa Grin

Milano Grin

Well that's one set of shocked in-laws, one very excited Mother and actually missed Dad's reaction as was so busy giggling at Mum jumping up and down waving her arms about. Happy I think. Well that's the hard part over, now I just have the labour to look forward to.

milanomum · 07/11/2010 20:53

Hello!
Wow I might get a (wooden) stick and pee on it just to join in the test-fest next weekend :)
There's a lot going on here isn't there? It's hard to keep up!
I went to see a leetle ickle baybee today - just 4 days old - and was remarkably sane around him

I had rather rampant and... wait for it... FUN sex last night, just in case anyone was interested :). It was quite refreshing not thinking about dates and everything else. This new attitude might just pay off (for a month) ;)

baby2b · 07/11/2010 18:04

10dpo here and nothing to report...Just lurking :)

321sanitygone · 07/11/2010 15:03

Evening ladies. Well i am pretty ertain OH and i missed our chance this month but we've both had a lot on and sleep has takn precident over shagging! It was only month one and more effort will definitely be made next month.
Sounds like Friday is going to be an exciting day. Fingers crossed for you all :D

Dynababy · 07/11/2010 13:47

Afternoon all. BB I miscalculated yest and am 10 DPO (ov'd week past thurs) so closer than I thought so think I'll be forced to POAS before next weekend. Either that or ERTD will have come by then Sad. I like the idea of a testfest though Grin. Your doing well in resolving not to do it, keep going and I'll try too!

Cremegg I'm, in Paris until friday night but first response will be packed Blush - i'll only end up trying to buy a pee stick over there if i don't and getting all confused over french instructions ha ha! Hopefully my iphone will work over there so can post results! Sorry your feeling anxious, getting out and about will do you good. Where do you live, intrigues by what you mean by a sleigh ride into work!?

cremegg · 07/11/2010 10:40

sorry ladies, just realised that all sounds a wee bit -ve and im not actually that annoyed... just 2ww Confused grrness i think!
