I don't think there's anything wrong with getting a second hand CMFM?

17DPO and no AF and no BFP - Sad and Angry for you

Eskarina · 06/11/2010 08:54

So, I POAexpensiveS today (one of the clearblue non-digi's I bought by mistake. BFN of course. I don't know why I thought an expensive one would make a difference, as surely at 17dpo then the difference between the cheap and expensive tests will have beeb eroded anyway.

Is it bad that I've been googling clearblue fertility monitors? And PCOS? And wondering if it's really really manky to have a 2nd hand CBFM from ebay? I can just hear DH now telling me that spending more money isn't going to help, and that no fancy piece of kit is going to make my period appear. Even CLearblue haven't worked that one out yet!

queenrollo · 05/11/2010 21:29

i've gone all spotty today, which i think is a sign that AF will arrive in the next few days.

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 21:19

emsiedoodle sorry about your cycle going wonky. It must be something in the water this month as Brasso and I seem to be competing for the longest cycle too - we're both on CD42. Having said that I would say that you're in with a good chance, esp with the sore boobs, so re-test in a few days. How soon depends on how rich you want to make the pee-stick manufacturors! If you know when you ovulated then wait until you are definitely at least 14dpo until you try again
Good luck Smile

gettingonmyownnerves · 05/11/2010 20:46

Thanks for all the good wishes and huge congratulations to cyberjules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really sorry to see all the AFs, BFNs and crappy cycles Sad.
emmsie I guess as long as AF hasn't arrived a BFP is still possible, maybe re-test in a few days?
Good luck to everyone waiting to test!

emsiedoodle · 05/11/2010 20:33

I really don't know whats going on with me at the moment. Day 35 of my cycle is nearly over and still no sign of AF or a positive result. This will now become the longest cycle i've ever had. I really thought I was in with a chance as mega sore boobs today too, should I test again tomorrow or wait few day and see what happens?
Good luck to all those waiting to test x

Hi Eskarina (just popped back) I was on the pill for 13 years straight before I came off to start TTC. I was really scared that my periods wouldn't come as, like you, mine used to be really heavy and irregular before the pill.

I am sure it is just your body getting used to not being told what to do ie the pill. Everyone it seems has a different reaction to coming off the pill. I've read on other websites that some woman had a regular period when they came off the pill, then not one for 6 months!! Fingers crossed that's not going to happen to us though!

Good luck at the Docs though, I hope everything is OK.

IzzyWizzyletsgetsomesparklers · 05/11/2010 18:24

Right, this is my stop - AF arrived today so I'm hopping off this bus.

Congratulations to all the bfps and good luck to all those left. Hopefully I won't see too many of you on the August bus!

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 17:59

Thanks Getdown (nice to see you popping back on) It's good to know that others have had similar experiences, even though I wouldn't wish it on anyone IYSWIM. I sort of assumed that because I'd settled down into a sort-of pattern that it might stick around. And to be honest I'm worried that it will all get like it was when I was a teenager.
Periods were very irregular and so heavy and painful that I would have to have time off school/college as I would faint and throw up, and be unable to move for the pain. I went on the pill at 18 when I didn't have one for about 10 weeks and was really ill - right before my A levels. So I've stayed on the pill for 10 years because it was convenient to have nice regulated periods and of course was handy when DH and I got married and needed to start thinking about that sort of thing! No-one ever said there were any problems with using it long-term, even though I've asked every time I've had a pill check up. Angry

GetDownYouWillFall · 05/11/2010 17:48

Eskarina if it's any comfort, it took my body ages to sort itself out after coming off the pill. It took 3 months to get a period and probably nearly a year to get my cycle back to how it was before I took the pill.

TBH I would never go back on the pill again.

I had cycles that where 45, 46 days upwards. Got pregnant with DD through ov. on a CD 32.

So just wanted to comfort you that it's not necessarily because anything's "wrong", may just be taking your body time to sort itself out after the pill.

HTH

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 17:43

Oh and sorry for BFN Brasso. What are your cycles normally like, if you don't mind me asking? I came off the pill in Feb (though only ttc since July). It took 6 weeks to have a first period after the withdrawal bleed then seemed to be 29-33 days, but with mid cycle bleeding which lasted a day or 2 and I assumed was ovulation. Perhaps I should have had that checked out at the time. Anyway last month was 34 days but with no ovulation as far as temps could tell, and this month, well, like you I'm on CD42.

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 17:41

Hurrah cyberjules So pleased for you. It's great to be getting some BFP's from this bus.

Queenrollo I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you're off KLou111 and FluffySparkles Envy at 29 day cycles, or even 35 days. Better luck next month.

I've got a dr apt for next saturday - the earliest I could get. I hope I'll be discussing why this cycle was so long not why AF still hasn't rocked up yet.

I'm off the bus - AF came today. I don't mind too much as it means my cycles are down from 35 days to 29 so another chance will come round quicker!

Good luck to all that are still to test! Smile

fledtoscotland · 05/11/2010 16:28

Congratulations to everyone. Still have 2wks to go before i can poas. Trying to stay away from charts/iphone apps/opks this month and just focus ok dtd.

Am i the last on the bus? If i did get a BFP this month would be due 1st august but would have a csection tge week before

goldmaple · 05/11/2010 14:42

Congrats gettingonmyownnerves and cyberjules!! You two will be the start of many BFPs for this bus!!

Sorry to everyone that AF got!! Best luck on the August bus!

klou111 my cycles were different lengths before settling out after getting off the pill too. Temping really helped since my luteal phase never changed. Glad yours are shortening much sooner than mine!

DPO11 here. Did a test on DPO 10 and it was a BFN:( Oh well... have absolutely no symptoms (and usually have sore boobs by now) So will try not to test until tuesday!

KLou111 · 05/11/2010 13:53

Congratualations cyberjules.

I am saying ding ding stop the bus to you all and going to jump off at this stop onto the August bus.

I am totally convinced that this bleeding is my AF, which made my cycle 29 days. Better than the 35 predicted, so at least I don't have as long to wait to my next try :)

Good luck to you all, will keep checking in for news. May see some of you in a few days.

Big LOVE x

queenrollo · 05/11/2010 10:33

feeling very sorry for myself. Full of cold.

And two friends who started TTC at the same time i did are due to give birth any day now. Delighted for them of course but still Sad cos i'm feeling left behind,

mrsden · 05/11/2010 10:07

Congratulations Gettingonmyownnerves and Cyberjules. That's great news. Did you have any signs or symptoms before you POAS?

Well, I'm jumping off this bus now. AF arrived this morning. Good luck to everyone still in with a chance.

Brasso4 · 05/11/2010 09:32

Congrats cyberjules!

Well Eskarina, perhaps we have some sort of weird psychic link - I am joining you on day 42. BFN this morning. I am not going to bother to test again until next weekend now, there is a slim chance that I might be (if my DH has super sperm that live for ages!) but I assume (hope) that AF will arrive in the next 8 days.

Will have to join September bus!

Bye xxx Good luck all xxx

jaggythistle · 05/11/2010 09:31

congratulations on the BFPs!

BFN for me again today... migght try to resist until Sunday.

Just feel a bit grumpy and tired, could just as well be AF on way.

Might be back on the August bus again soon...

LadyGoneGaga · 05/11/2010 08:59

Congratulations, cyberjules! Hope it's a sticky one.

cyberjules · 05/11/2010 08:54

Hi All

I took a test a few days ago which was a very faint +ive waited again until today and got a +ive straight away! We're still trying not to get too excited as we had a chemical pregnancy about 18 months ago... not sure how common they are once uve had one!

Its only cycle 2 so feel really really lucky :-) I really hope it goes okay this time!

Going to see the doc later today just to try and get some positive advice!

Baby dust to every one! xx

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 06:47

Fingers crossed for you Brasso. I'm joining you on CD42. Did a test yesterday pm. Don;t know why. It was BFN of course. Feel like AF about to arrive, but have felt like that for 2 weeks now.

Sorry for BFN jiggle hope the house move goes well, and that you all start feeling a bit healthier soon.

Glad to see the bus still has a bit of life left in it!
