I am so sorry getdown. I can't believe what you are having to go through. The Doctor sounds like he's brushed you off a bit which is most helpful of him!!!

Makes me realise that although we are all spurring each other on to get pregnant, the harsh reality is what could happen. I feel like I've been brought back to reality (in a good way). But it was NOT you fault in any way. Don't you dare think it is.

I am TTC my 1st and on cycle 2 so have not experienced any of this yet so cannot offer advice, but my thoughts for you are there.

It must be totally awful for you. Sending you (((((((((HUGE HUGS)))))))))

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 16:24

thanks, yes that was pretty much it. Although he did say the dreaded "retained products of conception" thing, and that I should go to A&E if things start getting a lot worse.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 16:21

That's not really very sensitive or supportive of him Getdown, is that all the advice he gave you? There is a mc section here on talk which is helpful and also, when you feel up to trying again, a Trying after mc thread here - lots of lovely ladies there. I also found this site really helpful here

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 16:16

Hi Lady thanks for asking after me.

The GP just called me back. He said there is no need to go and see anyone unless the pain or bleeding gets a lot worse. He said to just let things take their course. Sad

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 15:44

How are you doing Getdown - have you spoken to anyone yet? Thinking of you x

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 13:40

ok thanks Lady I think there is one near me.

I had kind of assumed it was too early to need one of those, but I don't know, I have no experience.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 13:37

Getdown I would try and find an EPU, here. That's where the GP will refer you to anyway. They'll ask you some questions and decide how to proceed. They will need to make sure everything has gone so there are no problems further down the line.

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 13:20

thanks scottygirl10. Now I am home from work my "front" has crumbled and I'm crying buckets Sad

Am on the call back list for the GP as no appointments.

Do you think I will need a scan if I am bleeding heavily?

The thought of a scan without a baby in there sounds like a horrible ordeal. Sad

Scottygirl10 · 27/10/2010 12:48

Hi getdown, so sorry to see you're going through this. This is the exact thing that happened to me last month with my first pregnancy so I know exactly what you're going through. I made an app with my gp and was sent for an internal scan the next day to make sure it had all come away naturally, which thankfully it had. I was beyond gutted, being first pregnancy and all. Luckily tho elemt need to wait to ttc this month which made me feel better. Hope this helps x

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 11:35

I know Getdown I was the same. Lulls you into false sense of security. But in hindsight it never felt quite right for me - I never felt quite as pg as I did with DS.

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 11:30

thank you Brasso4. So sorry you have been through it too. It totally sucks Sad

I naively thought that it couldn't happen to me because I never had one when trying with DD. How stupid to think that.

Brasso4 · 27/10/2010 11:25

Oh GetDown, I am so sorry. I had a MC the first time I was PG and it really upset me. I felt awful for ages afterwards and felt like I had failed. The important thing is that you realise that although it is heart breaking, it is not your fault, there is NOTHING that you could have done to prevent it.
Sending you lots of hugs xxxxxxxxx

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 11:20

yeah, thanks Lady .... hope so, you too xxx

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 11:13

Oh hon, it's noone's fault. Just one of those things. Hopefully you'll fall again quickly when you are feeling ready.

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 11:04

I finish at 12, so think I'm going to stick it out. Don't want to raise eyebrows by walking out early. Not much longer to go anyway.

Told DH this morning, he is gutted and really disappointed. I feel really guilty, like it's my fault.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 11:00

Go home. Now. Make some excuse about being unwell. There is no point at all you being at work. Can your partner get back to you? If not a friend/family?

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 10:56

No, it's ok, I realise it doesn't look good Sad

I don't feel sick at all today either.

I will give GP a ring. Will probably get horrible receptionist who will grill me about whether it's urgent or not Sad

Am at work. Trying not to cry.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 10:45

Oh sweetie, I don't want to sugar coat it,there is always a chance but it doesn't sound particularly good I'm afraid if the hormones have dropped. Ring GP anyway, they may want to scan you/blood test. I went through this in September and it's awful. Have you got someone with you?

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 10:38

thanks Lady - just been to the loo. There is a lot of blood. A lot. Sorry if TMI.
I was feeling ok till I saw it all there in the loo. Now I have just gone to pieces.

Surely the test wouldn't have been BFN if it was going to be ok? It was a first response one.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 10:35

This would be a classic time for an implantation bleed. You would hope it stays light, more like spotting and goes away fairly quickly. I had this first pg and it was fine. Friend had quite a heavy bleed with big clots, only lasted two hours then went away, baby was fine. But I've had it go the other way too but that was later (2nd pg) and was more like AF and I lost symptoms about a week before.

I would speak to GP and see what they advise, hopefully you will have an EPU in your area and they will be able to give you specialist advice. What type of test did you take? Could it have been a shit one? So sorry you're going through this Sad

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 10:28

Thanks Lady I am supposed to be 5 weeks today Sad

Do you think I should just ask to speak to the GP on the phone? It's red blood. Feels achey, like a heavy AF on the way.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2010 10:19

Getdown Sad I'm trying to think what you should do. You are 5 weeks and how many days? The EPU may scan you or may be a little early, is borderline at that point. Call your GP and they should advise. How much blood is there? What is it like - brown or red? A little or a lot? Big hugs anyway, I know how worrying this is.

GetDownYouWillFall · 27/10/2010 10:17

thanks for the hugs. Feeling really sad.

Mylittlebubble - hope yours sticks. The blood is just like a normal AF. Didn't have any blood at all about the time AF was due.

Does anyone know, do you have to see the GP after a MC?

Teds77 · 27/10/2010 10:08

Oh GetDown sending you massive hugs Sad

Mylittle am sending positive thoughts to you - congrats.

Mylittlebubble · 27/10/2010 09:47

GetDown sending you a big hug.My lines were really really faint too thats why I got the digital one. Was there alot of blood? Remember a lot of ladies blood when their AF was about due in early pregnancy. Go home and put your feet up. I have had brown blood all morning and I'm staying on the sofa for the day.
