A lovely place for those either lurking, waiting, WTFing or SWI after MCing...

...with optional fish slapping

AandRMum · 02/10/2010 21:00

loola nicks I am wondering whether brown spotting is linked to SWI as I have had it both times the day after (dislodging something ... that would boost dh's ego!). What does SWI stand for or don't I want to know?

loola2shu · 02/10/2010 17:29

Hi all just a quicky as I should really be making DCs tea!

Just wanted to say NICKS I am having exactly the same thing, although not full on spooting just very slight brown Blush discharge, had it for last 2 days. I haven't had a +opk yet but did feel crampy yesterday and day before, I hope it is just ov! it wouldn't be unusual for me to ov around this time in cycle. Also hope it is as swi last night and twice on Wed night so quite nicely timed- although have also SWI at least everyother night since cd7!

Will try to get on to do personals etc tomorrow, although at ds friends birthday party and have lots to do before hand so may not xx

nickstermum · 02/10/2010 17:27

ha ha ha googling defo banned.. i nearly died when i saw the page after the one i posted..... Biscuit

Velvetcu · 02/10/2010 16:26

Haha Wombat that sounds like a great tradition!

Who is holding the fish?? I am feeling an almost overwhelming urge to POAS!!!

LadyBee · 02/10/2010 16:25

prettysore sorry to hear about all the pain, I've not had carpal but have suffered RSI in my wrists and forearms and remember that unrelenting ache. Do you think the flare ups of ibs, etc are related?

I'm on my phone but hoping to come back later tonight to catch up some more.

I think my cbfm is sulking. Last month after I just had highs and no peaks I gave up testing before it wanted me too. This month we are on day 12 and still on low. I checked the test stick this morning. And there was a faint faint line so maybe I will get something soon. Sound familiar to anyone?

We've taken advantage of MIL's departure with some sff anyway so not worried on that score just a tiny bit concerned cycle may be more screwy this time, last time after mc it was a classic pattern of highs & peaks. Oh well I'll wait to see what happens. Am temping this time around too.

dachs I'm really sorry your iui round didn't work, I know it doesn't make a difference knowing all the % chances, there's always the hope and it's always gutting when it doesn't work. Are you going to use you dh's sperm in the ivf? I really hope you get that wonderful birthday present, if this month doesn't work for me I hope I do too! Our birthdays must be within days of each other's at the end of nov.

Wombat33 · 02/10/2010 15:12

oh AandR no wonder you wanted to give sil a miss. Don't blame you!

Nicks the one that really jumps out of your list to of is STRESS! Not that that helps resolve the issue though...

And yes, I'm cooking christmas dinner right now. The turkey's in the oven! Yummy! Friends christmas dinner is and old tradition with uni friends, except we got a bit behind schedule so we're playing catch up. At least this is 'christmas 2009'. 'Christmas 2008' was in april...

AandRMum · 02/10/2010 14:50

nicks googling needs to be banned! Everytime I have googled anything I have ended up writing my own obituary (strangely therapeutic exercise!!). Given the number of us talking about spotting mid-cycle on these forums I would gather that it is actually very normal but goes largely unreported except where something goes wrong - hence the lists. Enjoy the drinks!

lolly wombat drink away ... both my DDs had a thorough initiation into alcohol land prior to bfp and came out 10lbs! I am actually coming to the conclusion that high alcohol intake during the 2ww is a sure fire way to get a bfp ....

I don't dare reread TTW as I bawled pre-DDs and would hate to think what state I'd be in now. Just threw a fit opted out of afternoon playdate with SIL. Just couldn't cope with what would have been her overly emotional response to m/c. She spent the 6 months we spent trying to get pregnant asking in increasing worried tones if I was up-duffed yet and what was wrong with me etc. etc. I would hate to imagine what she would say about the m/c.

nickstermum · 02/10/2010 14:25

Mmm Not sure google is such a good thing -

looked up spotting in between and this is the list

What Causes Bleeding Between Periods?
Although the cause of irregular bleeding can vary according to individual health situations, some of the more common causes include:
?Implantation Bleeding/Pregnancy
?Miscarriage
?Hormonal fluctuations
?Starting, stopping, or missing oral contraceptives or estrogens
?Low thyroid levels
?Stress
?IUDs occasionally cause slight spotting
?Injury to the vagina from insertion of objects
?Malignant cancers
?Undiagnosed vaginal infections
?Certain drugs, particularly anticoagulants Vaginal dryness
?GYN procedures
?Some women have spotting during ovulation, which is normal

Well i have a clear smear, and i havent inserted any objects up my foo ever, and the infec has been diagnosed and is now gone... nor have i been on the pill in the last 8 years..... ah this list is getting shorter!! Whats possible is hormone fluct, post MC or possibly thyroid as i do have a bit of a hairy chin!! (or is that PCOS Confused)

sorry ME ME ME..... off out now ladies, and for a few scoops tonight.... you never know after a few beers i may get laid anyway Grin Grin grin]

nickstermum · 02/10/2010 14:01

wombat you cooking christmas dinner now?! or at christmas?

Owls no, the old bitch(AF) arrived and didnt i know it, now on CD13 first normal cycle post MC but spotting day 12 & 13 (normal cycle is 35-40 days so usually late OV so if it is OV its early, possibly just the old bitch coming back for the last bits perhaps?!) OPK's neg. Thanks all for comments, Agree... its very bloody random, its never ever happened before! Good news is i am at the tail end of ABs and cervix feels better. Arranged a telecon with the gp monday to discuss swab results.

Izz sounds like your DH is as much use as mine in the bio dept.... all i get is.. 'dont stress, its not a science' DOH that is exactly what it is!!!

chocks good to see you back, and walking like a cowboy Grin...good to hear you managed to squeeze in the SWI- marathonesque sesions in between sunbathing & swimming... heres hoping :)

MumA i think it will do you the world of good to just chill out and relax. Your body has got so much going on at the moment, it probably doesnt know which bit to look at solving first... hopefully the progesterone will kick in and you will get your dreaded AF soon. (doesnt help with the frustration tho does it) If you are still getting bfn 4 weeks post ov then i suspect you are not pg... but hopefully all your radiation tests will have finished for a while.

Wombat33 · 02/10/2010 13:22

Morning lovely ladies! Sorry to hear about carpel tunnel, spotting and lack of doors. Hope bodies and builders alike get sorted out soon!

On a totally random note, I'm cooking Christmas dinner today for 7 people, complete with Christmas pud! Grin Still on the 2ww but think I'm going to allow myself just a smidge of booze. Now where did I put those left over crackers...?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 02/10/2010 13:20

pv ouch - sorry to hear about carpal tunnel, that must be really painful Sad

nicks hope the spotting sorts out soon - maybe you'll ov in next couple of days?

Just a question: does anyone else have a DH/DP with no understanding whatsoever of the female cycle?! DH has I think a-level biology but, upon being told I ovulated about 4 days ago said "ooh that means we ought to be having lots of sex now then" Hmm

Mind you, at least I managed to mention ovulation and ttc without the usual "sperm donor" comments - I think he was just too interested in what my brightly-coloured ff graph meant...

owlshoes · 02/10/2010 10:52

Aw, PV carpal tunnel is utterly shite :(

You need voice recognition for t'internetting, that's what. And obviously a bevy of lovely young men to wait on you hand and foot. Grin

Nicks is this still WTF cycle? If so, then random bleeding seems to be the norm unfortunately. As does random ovulation and random everything else.

nickstermum · 02/10/2010 10:23

Pretty good to hear from you, sorry you arent feeling 100percent :( are you taking Pro Biotics for the IBS? Mine flared up unbelievably when i was pg and subsequent MC and they really helped.. two a day 'billion dophillus'.

Carpel tunnel is nasty. I suffered in late pg'cy stages, and also once he was born. Even if you just wear the splints at night, it helps. do your hands and fingers feel like great big swollen tingling shovels?! Sorry if they do :( its horrid, .

Have a good weekend everyone x

Smile Good Morning Everybody Smile
Thanks for the nice welcome back after my hols, for the shagging award, pats on back and finger x-ing.

Horrible rainy day here in Germany but lovely autumn colours outside. Off to visit MIL today. Looking forward to her cheesecake Smile and seeing my BILs new puppy. Gonna drive to shoe factory shop on the way, which will - no doubt - annoy DH but the approach of Winter means I need boots and NEW sensible shoes and need to abandon the flipflops and sandals......good excuse, eh?
Catch you later / over the weekend.

Hi PV good to hear from you again. Sorry that you are feeling shite :(

Just wanted to pop in and say good morning and say ooops I had too much wine last night but :) here you are preempting me and telling the positive stories anyway.

Have a great weekend.

PrettyVacant1 · 02/10/2010 09:27

Morning all Smile

I've not fallen off the planet just yet, I've had a hard time at work and I've not been feeling too good neither!

Didn't want to come here and moan, moan, moan but I have been thinking of you all.
I'd had enough and wasn't snapping out of it so went to Docs yesterday (I don't do docs)
with pain and generally feeling shite.

He says I've got carpel tunnel syndrome so on top of my M.E flaring up I've been like a weak little whinging pansy.

Can't take daily anti inflammatories as I'm TTC and I also have IBS.
I'm being put down next Tue. Grin
At night for sexy time, I will now mostly be wearing wrist splints.
During the day necking as much paracetemol as I can.

I'm also now on CD6 so if someone would plonk me down the bottom when they do the list as I'm on iPod and all achey & sore.
Grin

Squeezes to thoses whos needs thems and cocktails and piscine abuse for thoses that are that way inclined.

nickstermum · 02/10/2010 09:02

Hmm, i too bawled at Grand designs that was thursday nights TV!!! Very sad!

Catch up properly later, but Dachs awesome news about IVF Grin

DachshundsRule · 02/10/2010 08:38

Thanks guys.

wombat we have two doors, but we still don't have the french doors from the dining room into the garden. and the builder was meant to be finished over a week ago. we have someone coming to replace our drive on Monday so if the builder doesn't finish today I will be tearing my hair out. if you don't hear from me next week it's because I've been arrested for murder. (Actually we're having the patio replaced as well, so if I hid the body well enough I might not get arrested?)

Urbanlolly · 02/10/2010 08:15

O' yeah I only found out I was preggers @ about 8 weeks after a very liquid start to the year..... A healthy 8.12 pounds !!!!!

Urbanlolly · 02/10/2010 08:12

Hi mummya thanks fo sperm info... Feeling a tad silly after a shit nights sleep...99.9% sure I'm not preggers... It was just the shock that I MAY have ovulated got my head spinning!!!!! But rather pleased cycles are doing someting resembling normality!!!
In work so must go.... Have a lovely weekend everybody

MummyAbroad · 02/10/2010 02:35

D Smile a Smile c Smile h wow!!!!!!!! thats huge news!!!!! I know its not a magic wand or anything, but I'm so pleased that you have been given the opportunity! Grin Grin Grin Grin I will keep everything crossed (except legs possibly Grin) for you!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your support ladies, particularly Caribou (aren't you sweet coming back to help us all out?) and wombat. You are talking sense - just need my subconcious brain to accept that I am not pregnant (so ironic that right now thats what I want more than anything, how messed up!!!Confused {To save you reading back, I have just had a CAT scan i.e. massive dose of radiation which you CANT DO if pregnant.} Anyway, I'm drinking relaxing now, so feeling better.

Urban sperm will live between 2 hours and 5 days depending on the quality of your cervical fluid (affectionately known on here as "pant snot"Grin) At non fertile times, it is acidic and therefore hostile to sperm, around ovulation it changes and actually contains nutrients that keep the little blighters sustained on their journey. Seen any "egg white" looking (aka fertile quality) fluid lately?

PS I found out very late I was pregnant with DS, had been drinking like a WHALE before the BFP. He was born 9 pounds and is perfectly healthy, so dont sweat it.Smile
