Good news - results from Bloods are in and progesterone levels are all good. Bad news - GP was total and utter biatch, told me to go away and keep trying for at least another year before I worried (she kindly pointed out this advice was regardless of how many more m/c's I had because this was not a fertility issue, hum, lucky me, so I can get them I just can't keep them, I must be more grateful)!! So she either has kids and has never had a problem and therefore can't empathise or she doesn't want them and can't empathise or she is just an ole biatch that can't empathise!!! Seriously she was so rude thinking of complaining!

Izzy I just generally annoyed them and then ended up being palmed off on a locum GP (not the old cow bag above), it turns out this was a stroke of luck because she took pitty and wrote out the path request there and then! This bit might also interest you; After all that she never addressed the issue of the LPD, simply said as long as progesterone levels were fine (mine were 39 and 30+ required to retain - apparently) it was irrelevant how many days the luteal phase was, I hope so but am speaking to GP friend for confirmation and will let you know.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/10/2010 13:38

wombat boo to af for getting you too!!!

appleblossoms I have to confess, I think I was secretly quite hopeful myself - have had implantation bleeding on all 3 other pgs so far so it seemed a good sign. 'tis a rollercoaster ride! Am liking your symptoms though -surely if both me and wombat are out, we are owed some bfps

as for me, I am a bit gutted this month but staying positive. Yes my luteal phase is crap, but at least we can sort that out. Have made appt at dr for Friday so am hoping I get someone sympathetic. mamapower - how did you get them to help you so quickly?

Have also found an acupuncturist in the area who specialises in fertility, so going to give her a call later. And at least I can have a nice large glass of wine later.

appleblossoms · 06/10/2010 11:15

x-posted, sorry AF got you wombat - here's to next month...

appleblossoms · 06/10/2010 11:08

mummya how can you not like marmite?! yum yum yum...and all that extra folic acid is good for you! I craved it like crazy in first trimester with DS! What else is on your list?

izzy sorry OB got you :( I had my fx this was your month

ah yes AandR you missed knitter's thread on her three times a day dedication, she's a little legend round here!

wombat with regard to spb (sex post baby) I think I buck the trend, once we got over the initial shock of no sleep, sore bits etc. our sex life has become way better than before ds...almost back to university days! Think we realised what we'd been missing whilst i was heavily pregnant etc. and made amends Wink

velvet brownb mamap any news? There should be quite a few bfp's over the coming days me thinks.

caribou and hairy how are you little upduffed ones getting on? starting to relax at all?

PFF I bought cheapy opk's this month, £5 for 30 from amazon, and I got a positive around the right time..it was almost positive at lunchtime so i did another early evening which was strongly positive, next day was negative again so worth testing twice a day if you suspect ov might be near.... the good thing about cheapies is you don't feel bad peeing on them all the time!

Which brings me nicely on to me... I'm determined not to poas early again as it is such a waste, so to control my urge i peed on a cheapy opk this morning instead (i know, stupid!) and it was positive.... and i feel really sickly today, keep feeling really faint if i stand up too quickly and boobs are getting quite sore.... someone slap me! I just can't bare to get another BFN so don't want to test till next week... help! Confused

Wombat33 · 06/10/2010 11:04

PS - thanks for the tips on pelvic floor and SFF post-DC's! I'm now fully briefed. all I need is the baby!! Wink Grin

Wombat33 · 06/10/2010 11:01

Morning all!! yrotb I'm sooo envious of time off until Feb!!! Anbd share your excitement about Christmas. It's October now - I think we're allowed :)

Velvet - amazing self control with the poas. I love mummya's suggestion of the present buying. On that basis, this afternoon I may treat myself to a starbucks and chocolate cake Grin

The double justification for this is that AF arrived this morning :( Not unexpected as it's bang on time and my temps had been plummeting for the last few days. So, I've updated the list below, but given this is only my first AF after the MC (which incidentally was exactly one month ago today :( ) I've taken the liberty of claiming I'm still on cycle 1 (well, the other one wasn't a 'proper cycle' was it..?!)

Hello to everyone else!

AandRMum · 06/10/2010 09:55

knitter 3 A DAY!!!!!!!! Pure respect ..... > Am supposed to be on a diet as can no longer blame being upduffed for the fat suit. Between trying not to weigh myself every 5 secs to see if weight has decided to abandon me of it's own accord and not to POAS ... Feel like I am constantly lecturing myself.
Velvet amazing self control!
mummyA thinking of you. The wait is almost over!
Waves to all
SFF ha! Only trying to convince DH of that ... More like SW deadly I. Trying to convince myself not trying this month > It is going well!

youremindmeofthebabe · 06/10/2010 09:17

If I can take this moment to let you know that it was at least 3 months after PFB was born before we had sex again! A nasty tear and the fact I'd pushed a large headed baby out , along with the overwhelming exhaustion was enough to remove my libido for some time..

CD 31.. Ho hum. I hope its not another month like last month. I have ordered Agnus Castus and everything, cos if I am ovulating when I think I am, then Ive got a 20+ day Luteal phase, which is A) unlikely or B) a sign of bad things. I shall now stick my head in the sand to avoid said information.

velvet I is very inordinately proud of your willpower. especially as i poas yesterday.

tunnocks it's awful isn't it? You have my utmost sympathy, I hated feeling so out of control.

ladybee and AandR I too have been trying to keep DP out of the loop. And doing quite a good job over it. I suspect he hasn't the faintest inkling over how a womans cycle works.

izzy I toy with the idea of the expensive blue thingy, but think I'll give it til after xmas. The last 2 times I have got PG it has been in February, so if I'm not PG by then I will be disappointed.

mummyA what else is on your list that you can't live without from the uk? Are the traditions of xmas very different over there?

Waves to all, hope you're well.

I have exams for uni next weds, and then I'm off til Feb! Wahoo! and my best friends are returning from travelling, and it's DS's bday and Christmas soon! (am i getting ahead of myself??) It is also my due date the day before DS's bday, but I am kind of optimistic. Although given recent events i'm not sure if I should be confident, but I think because I can mentally prepare for it, I may be ok..

God, that's rather mememe. I do apologise.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 06/10/2010 07:24

Big fat hairy arsecrackers. RTD arrived this morning in full force, so I'm back to cd1. Only now my cycle seems to be about 26 days with an 8-day lp at best. Am maintaining positive mental attitude, oh yes, but seriously, that is crap.

wombat yeeeesss, the whole sex-after-baby is a different ball game to the sex-to-get-baby issue. And a great reminder from nickster regarding the importance of pelvic floor exercises. Or the advantages of an emergency c-section (see, it's not all bad news Grin)

Anyway.....getting way in front of myself.

jamface, sneezing is definitely a sign...absolutely

AandR I've been attempting to keep DH in the dark too, but this morning he asked outright 'so when are you most eggy?'. I believe this is a symptom of his desperation though after a not-so-successful-but-not-a-disaster- attempt this morning. I reckon he was hoping to be told he could take a break. HONESTLY though, it's not like we're following Knitter's 3-a-day regime.

Urbanlolly · 05/10/2010 23:03

Waves to all XXXXXXXX

MummyAbroad · 05/10/2010 22:23

Hi Pink,

I have had some tests done and am looking into doing more. However, not sure I can give you much useful info because its all different over here in Costa Rica.

The ladies on the Recurrent Buns thread are very knowledgable and friendly bunch, I am sure if you ask over there you will find someone who has done what you are thinking about.

xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 05/10/2010 22:13

velvet you are amazing! Well done you - AF arriving (which hopefully she won't!) is way less disappointing than getting just one piss-poor line on the pee-stick. Have you got any symptoms??

MA hahaha good plan. Unfortunately at this rate I'll never be able to buy a present - two pee sticks down so far this month already.... I am going to try and hold out until Friday if AF hasn't arrived yet. MIL reckons I should wait until I'm 2 weeks late - erm!! That would require a willpower level way above what I reckon I could ever have......

Have any of you ever been for any blood tests? I was thinking about paying to get them done privately - I know the NHS won't test you until you've had 3 m/c but I really think if I just got the blood tests there's 2 outcomes 1) hopefully there's nothing wrong and it will give me much more confidence in the 'random bad luck' theory or 2) there'll be something which is hopefully fixable. Just feel like I would kick myself if I didn't, and it happened again, and I could have just paid for the tests and not had to go through it. Any thoughts?

Velvetcu · 05/10/2010 22:02

Lol MA, what a wonderful idea :)

MummyAbroad · 05/10/2010 21:46

Velvet, keep a track of how much money you are saving by not testing each time you get the urge and buy yourself something of equivalent value after BFP/AF

Unfortunately by these rules, I can only reward myself with a twix bar Blush

Velvetcu · 05/10/2010 21:39

Dont say that I might crumble! I'm telling myself that this is just a normal month, AF is coming so there is no point testing. It seems to be working atm.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/10/2010 21:37

Velvetcu · 05/10/2010 21:27

29 PFF but last cycle was 34 days so I'm sticking with that I think

PinkFondantFancy · 05/10/2010 21:26

izzy that is exactly why I am keen too - would be helpful to know if I ovulate late and also some reguar POAS wouldn't go amiss either!

Hey velvet what CD are you on?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/10/2010 21:25

Go on velvet....

Velvetcu · 05/10/2010 21:14

Arrghhh even DH is encouraging me to POAS but I'm still holding out til Sunday!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/10/2010 21:09

PFF I have one of those stupidly expensive clearblue peestick machines, courtesy of eBay (brand new although tbh I would have been happy to buy a second hand one) for about £50 inc postage. I'm on second cycle, first was slightly frustrating because I just got loads of highs but no peaks as it "got to know me". This cycle has been more helpful, it has picked up when I ov, which is later than it should be so that's worth knowing. Also it helps with the POAS addiction. Not sure that's a good reason though, probably more a reflection of my own insanity Smile

PinkFondantFancy · 05/10/2010 20:50

Hello all you lovely ladies - thank you so much for my heroes welcome, you are all so sweet!! I missed you all!!

Hehe ladybee I seem to have rubbed him raw which is odd because I feel fine! Not sure how that works, we must have incompatible skin..... :-) nickster helllloooooo! Well done for breaking Mr N, you must be taking the SWI seriously!

Hi A&R we haven't 'met' before, sorry you're here :-( Good work keeping DH in the dark about your cycle, once you've told them there's no going back and you run the risk of them getting huffy that you're just using them!!

apple and izzy sounds promising! Everything crossed for you

Hello mummyabroad Christmas sounds great! What about Cadburys? Can you get that there?

teacakes I am about to eat dinner and watch Holby City :-D Tuesday nights are the best for telly

nicksters and anyone else who is an opk fan - what are your thoughts on one of those expensive clear-blue pee on a stick machine thingybobs? I'm thinking that if AF turns up I'm going to invest in one because every time DH gets broken he's out of service for a week at a time so would be good to have a clue what the hell my cycle is doing so I can go easy on him when not a lot is likely to happen. I've been temping this month but it's a bit hit and miss as have only been doing it during the week (I read you have to do it same time every day and there's no way I'm setting a 6:15 alarm at the weekend!!!).

Also, have been reading 'is your body baby friendly' - anyone else read it? It's facinating! Anyway gotta go laptop running out of battery and can't find power lead, maybe back later!!

tigger15 · 05/10/2010 20:36

LadyB - no great improvement in my desire to DTD although dh is keen as ever. Also since I'm not actually using contraception but trying to mistime SFF/SWOI I have to ignore some of the natural urges which come around the ovulation time. It does make it much less pressured though which is definitely better.

Nickstermum I'm on pulsatilla in the morning and argentum in the evening but everyone is individual when it comes to homeopathy so I'd recommend consulting a homeopath. I did try calling Nelson's first but they refused to diagnose that over the phone. Apparently failure to conceive is not the same as a cough or cold Smile

Welcome to new posters
