Apologies for the v random spellings! Am on my phone!!

PinkFondantFancy · 08/10/2010 22:50

Hello ladies! Not a great day, been feeling very emotional for no reason so lots of time spent having a little cry in the bogs but feeling much better now.

Thanks for providing Sven a&r!
apple have you peed yet??! Neeed to know!!
YRMOTB sorry about AF yay for more regular cycles
mamapower hope you have a fab weekend, where are you off to? I'm keen for bookcase too, I'll message you when I figure out how!
velvet eeek good luck for testing, v excited for you
wombat big big hugs, I cried when I read about your scan :( :( why on earth do they make you buy a token first?? That is just cruel, there must be so many couples that have experienced the exact same :(

izzy sorry about your scan too, that must have been v hard for you :( you need to make a fuss about fc though, you clearly know more than she does. Can you afford private? Or as mummya says, a trip to costs rica? It sucks that we dont really get any kind of service in return for our tax. Totally sympathise with the crying if people are sympathic, I am v bad at that, reduces me to a bubbering wreck instantly and then I feel like a total nob afterward for being so busy crying that I couldn't put my point across properly. Good plan with acupuncture, fingers crossed it works a treat.

nicks great news about finding out how to fix spots, fingers crossed works a treat and swab comes back clear

owly have great holiday!!

hairy great news! Try not to stress, it sounds early to pick up a heartbeat.

Hi mouse sorry you found yourself here, I'm sorry for your loss :(

Night all have a lovely weekend xx

MummyAbroad · 08/10/2010 21:32

Hello,

Looks like my timing is goodSmile, I'm half way through that miscarriage book (Lesley Reagan, tis very very good) and she has just said that the time it takes for cycles to resume depends much more on how many weeks the baby grew to, rather than which method you had. Makes a lot of sense to me.

I think the "longer after ERPC" thing comes from the baby loss site.

mousebacon this page about recovery times is very good, and when to start trying again is here.

I'm sorry for your loss (just read about it on the other thread) glad that you have found us over here, and hope you get all the support you need xxx

Lovely to "meet" you all on facebook ladies! I am too shy to write on your walls though Blush , plus its very confusing seeing your real names. I keep forgetting who is who!

Hairy Thats really encouraging news, I am glad they are not making you wait too long till the next one (although it probably feels like a lifetime for you!) I agree with Izz it all sounds normal for such an early scan. xxx

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 20:42

AR i think its something to do with the lining. In the event of EPRC i think it takes longer for the lining to regrow - although not sure MA will be able to tell you more. It was on an article she posted earlier in the thread. Other than that, the only other thing i keep being told is that it takes longer for your body to recover after EPRC although i dont know whether thats true or not!

AandRMum · 08/10/2010 20:38

Hi Mouse - I am so sorry especially after having tried so long - Big hugs. I am in the WTF cycle and whilst not actively trying to conceive we aren't not trying. I am pretty much in the dark about all of this other than the very lovely ladies here and pregnancyloss.co.uk which has the clearest guidance. Actually nickster what is the deal between ERPC versus natural ... why would you need to wait longer ... chance of infection after an op?

apple FORGOT the hpt!!!!!!

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 20:28

hairy fab news... echoing Izz its probably too early!

apples TEST TEST TEST !!! Oooh dont keep us in suspenders! Grin

I do believe i got it all wrong this month :( been having on off OV symptoms now for 5 days!! oh well.... will have to wait a month til next time :(

Izz do bupa scan you? Have not thought of tucking into PMHC... but if the capfits..?

Grin Grin Grin

now i know zit-brigade is not caused by dairy milk i can eat much more! YUM

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 20:15

Hi Mouse sorry you are finding yourself on here :( Its pretty rubbish. Thankfully it does seem to get easier... with time x

The official line i got from my EPU and GP is that you should wait one cycle. Having said that they both said to me that there was no medical reason why you shouldnt TTC immediately. The only reason they ask that is so they can date the pregnancy should you conceive. ... i TTC immediately after bleed stopped... i hadnt ov, and it was mentally painful too soon,,, and physically a bit grim but thats not to say it will be for you. I am now in the first proper cycle post MC and actively trying, GP is aware and its not a problem. Having said that i MC naturally. I think EPRC is longer.

mousebacon · 08/10/2010 19:54

Hello ladies, I wonder if I could join? I miscarried our much wanted DC2 at 11 weeks on Sunday/Monday so am not ready to ttc yet as am still in shock I think. I was wondering if there's a definitive answer to whether I need to have a period or not before trying again? I just want to be pg again.

This baby was 12 months in the making as I have v irregular cycles linked to PCOS so I'm terrified this could take just as long Sad

I used to be theteasonme if any of you remember me x

appleblossoms · 08/10/2010 19:39

Will try and pop back later, but darling (!) husband 'forgot' to buy me an hpt on his way home so no testing for me just yet...at least it means I can still pretend it'll be positive for another evening though!
And i'm up for some fb action too... :)

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 08/10/2010 19:05

hairy good news re sac etc in right place. Try not to worry re heartbeat, 5+6 is very early. NHS hospital wouldn't scan me before 6.5 weeks, and Bupa wouldn't do before 7.5 weeks because they said they wouldn't be able to pick everything up. So I think that's fairly normal.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you for 22nd xx

owlie have a good break!

Any news anyone - applebloss ? velvet ? BrownB ?

hairytriangle · 08/10/2010 18:07

Hello ladies just popping in to say I'm five plus six and scan showed pregnancy sac and yolk sac in right place but we didn't see a heartbeat today ( hopefully it's just too early) and I am to be re sacanned on 22nd!

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 17:53

owls have a wonderful jolly holiday xxx

Choccybick · 08/10/2010 17:45

Hi everybody

feeling crap today. Just read through the last 24 hours and my head is spinning. Will pop back and comment personally later on.

def. on for a bit of fb action too

owlshoes · 08/10/2010 17:45

Hello lovelies :)

Nicks hoorah - everything fixed in one go :)

MummyA that's fantastic news on the scan, am so pleased for you - perhaps now things will all start to go right again with that weight off your mind.

You people who haven't tested yet - if you do get bfps I'm going to miss them as going to Spain for a week tomorrow morning - so fingers crossed for you & I shall be looking you up when I return hoping for good news!

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 16:53

PS also sorry forgot to add... dont have tonsil probs its an inch long ulcer on my throat triggered by the abs! :) quite pleased really x

Catch up later properly xx

Yes i am too... bookface that is! Grin

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 16:29

hairy i have an answer on the spots!!!!! HURRAH! thought i would share it with you :)

Went to docs today. Apparently i havent got BV (a self diagnosis off googling the abs!!! Blush) i have had a staf infection internally which a) shouldnt be a cause of MC, and b) causes skin conditions so he has given me some gel stuff to try anfd get shot of the crap all over my face :) Heres hoping!! Do also thinks i wont need more abs, but wants to do another swab just in case, but wont prescribe abs anyway for me as on 2WW!!

MamaPower · 08/10/2010 14:49

Izzy awww hon, sorry you got 'bounced out' the surgery door!! I hope the acupuncture works, really tempted to try it myself, I did have great success with acupuncture for a previous medical condition so might be worth a shot.
Have added you on FB...another pretty lady Smile Turns out we're a good looking bunch Grin

Wombat I too dread any future scans after unceremoniously being told that 'the sac is empty'... I know 1st year medical students that break bad news in a better way!!!

Waves to all x

MummyAbroad · 08/10/2010 14:37

Hello!

I am up for a bit of facebook action too. I have never used the private message thingy on MN before so forgive me if it takes a while to learn how.

Izzy - I hate your doctor she is horrid. Even if she sugar coated it she still said "I am not going to help you" Angry and since when do we know more about short LP than trained doctors? Outrageous! I think she needs to read the cut-out-and-give-to-the-doctor-bit at the back of TCOYF so she can learn something about fertility!! Yes, we all know stress can affect fertility (ovulation), but not LP's, these should be consistent for every woman and should be at least 10 days long, if not its a problem that needs addressing.

I think persuing other options is a great idea. I have heard very good things about acupunture (want to try it myself!) Is going private an option? How about a bit of medical tourism? Countries like Costa Rica and closer to home Turkey, offer cheap private medical services and can even design it around a nice holiday. (that'll cure your stress problem too!) Also, have read on the recurrent buns thread about a couple of women who got turned away by GP's but went back and got a locum who took pity and wrote them the referral they needed, worth trying?

I have just received a copy of Miscarriage - What every woman needs to know. Its by Lesley Regan a specialist who works at the recurrent miscarriage clinic at St Mary's Hospital London. Looks really good, will give my review when I have finished it.

big hugs for everyone who needs one today!!

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 14:04

izz you are not crazy! Or obsessed! we are just normal frustrated women!!!

MA fantabulous news Grin Grin xxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 08/10/2010 11:59

Mummyabroad - fab news from your appointment, that must be a weight off your mind! Please don't feel bad about the fb status thing - nothing you could have foreseen and no one else will think any less of you. In our case, we had had a good 13-week scan and so felt OK to tell everyone and everything still went wrong - you just can't predict these things.

YRMOTB - sorry AF got you, but good news that your cycle seems to be getting better, maybe the next one will be your turn x

(((((Hugs))))) to LadyBee and Nicks (hope you're feeling better?) and Purple and PFF and wombat and anyone else feeling low today. Agree re the scans - I always used to see them as a bit of a "treat" but will be absolutely dreading thhem if there ever is a next time. Even though MW had not been able to find hb at 16-wk check, I still wasn't really expecting bad news (god I feel stupid about that now!), not until the sonographer didn't turn the screen straight back round to me. And dh wasn't looking at me at all, just staring at the screen and I knew something must be wrong. Then she just said "I'm really sorry, there's no heartbeat". I did ask to see (otherwise I simply would not have been able to believe it) and it was so wrong to see him lying so still when just 3 weeks earlier we had seen such a lively and healthy-looking baby Sad

God, sorry about mopiness!! Onwards and upwards, everyone.

Wombat33 · 08/10/2010 11:24

Mummya Sooooo glad to hear things went well with the lung specialist!!! Fingers crossed the massages will sort out the pain and you'll be as good as new in no time :) As for the FB pg announcement, I think we've all done things in the past that we look back on and curse ourselves for. Live and learn, eh? The only person who got hurt by it though is you, so you've no need to feel embarrassed about it. I agree with you on future scans - I'm going to demand loads!! Sadly we'll need to to try to work out whether the bean is developing as it should.

I'm not at all looking forward to future scans. Nicks, Purple, Pink, hugs. Reading your experiences makes me feel soo sad. When we went for our first one I'd only had light spotting, not the heavy bleed that was to come, so we were still hoping it would all be okay. My dear, dear, DH was trying to be optimistic and having spotted the sign that said you had to buy a token for a picture of your baby before you went in for the scan he bought one. My overwhelming memory is of him sitting beside me in the darkened scan room, holing my hand with one hand and tightly clutching his token for a photo of our little one in the other, staring intently at the screen desperately looking for a baby and a heartbeat and of course, there was none :( :( :(

LadyBee sorry to hear you are feeling blue. Big hugs coming your way over the internet. It must be hard being away from your parents when you so want to see them. That's a long way and I imagine flights must be very expensive. Is there no way they could come this year and next?? Really hope you get a strong and sticky BFP to carry you through your due date for pg1. hope you managed to locate DH for the SWI!!!

Nicks - ouch on the nails!!! :) Bless your mum for being a rock when you needed her. Are you managing to feed yourself now? I'm finding I've gone from one extreme to the other and am now eating loads of bad stuff in a 'well it doesn't really matter' way Blush

Pink I'm sure your mum was just glad she was able to be there for you, please don't feel guilty. I know what you mean about struggling to concentrate on anything other than TTC! I'm a mad obsessed woman (if you hadn't already all worked that out)!!! Grin Hoping for a BFP for you and that's you've just been testing too early so far! Can't help on the cycle front, but I'm very impressed you discuss these things with your MIL!!

AandR I'm sorry I made you and others weepy. I think we are all very strong and we'll get through whatever life throws at us, however much we may fear it. It's been a huge help for me 'meeting' all of you. I'm looking forward to us all sharing happier times in future - I'm sure they are just around the corner for us all :) :) And Hmm at your Dad's comment! Ignore it if you can - sounds like he didn't know what to say and unfortunately managed to come out with exactly the wrong thing! We've all been there. Blush at the butcher. Maybe he'll stay quiet (here's hoping)!

yrotb Sorry AF got you but glad it means cycles are sorting themselves out. FX for this month!

Apples and Velvet I have everything crossed for good news for you!! Apples, hope you recover from the stomach bug quickly.

Cariboo I'm so glad you are managing too start too enjoy it! You show there's hope for all us chronic worriers yet Grin

Waves to Mammap, tunnocks, izzy, owl and anyone else I've missed!

Velvetcu · 08/10/2010 11:04

Am going to test in the morning! Just went to the loo coz I felt stuffcoming out so was expecting AF but it was more white stuff.

Am doing boring CPD today so will catch up with everyone later

MamaPower · 08/10/2010 10:01

Oh Apple, poor you, stay in bed and get well soon. x

Hugs for LadyB

Is that the sound of a lovely lady screaming 'BFP' I can hear? Hopefully and good luck to those POAS this weekend.

Pink, this is exactly why I have stopped temping and using OV POAS! My body has all of a sudden become a rule unto itself and I'm sure watching every teeny tiny little thing was adding to my stress levels and making matters worse!! I now only note my old bitch arrival dates!! Hope your cycle sorts itself out my lovely.

MummyA What a relief, and you are right...hopefully the start of a new and happy chapter. Made up for you Smile

Thanks Izzy well it all seems to be positive in my case then! Not heard from friend yet but she could be on jolly's, I know I'll hear at some point! Hope your trip to the GP goes well.

BTW, all this bookface talk...I've added peeps on there that I know less well than some of you lovely ladies...anyone wanna play on there? Message me and I'll add you, be nice to put a few face's to the names Smile I already have one of you on there and you (who shall remain nameless) is lovely Wink

My job for the day...complete the MORI on behalf of the DoH, GP Survey, that landed on my door matt yesterday! I can't wait to fill that bugger in Grin

Have a good weekend all, we're away so not likely to get the chance to check back in.

apples and velvet TEST TEST TEST! You are now my only chance for a BFP this weekWink Am rather excited on both your behalf, velvet have you been peeing on OPK too??

PFF Ive had 3 random cycles which havent included the original waiting for period after ERPC one..

Hi to purple, dont think Ive greeted you yetSmile

nickstermum · 08/10/2010 09:51

pink catch up properly with all u chattermonsters in a min... PInK could be your cycles just on a blip. When i was ttc before MC each month my cycle got longer and longer from normal 30-32 day and at the end of the 7 months my cycles were 40 days and i was stressed out of my box! I am a firm believer that it can effect it, MA would perhaps disagree with me i think, but having experienced it - i would say it can have an effect. MA any sign of the old bitch yet?!
