Interesting point chocs about baths, Mcing in the bath? I did and have an infection! Hmmmm

Velvetcu · 11/10/2010 19:16

Hi Inbetweener sorry you are here but feel free to question, moan and rant all you need to!

Pink I was just gonna message you to ask how you were feeling! Are you sure its AF and not something else?

Still nothing to report from me. I have a whole host of symptoms (TMI alert!! twinges rather than cramps, peeing every hour, white spots on my areolas, absolutely nothing in my pants!) but I don't know if I'm just noticing them more because I want to or if they are always my premenstrual symptoms but I've never paid attention to them before. Anyway, don't know how long to leave it before POAS again. I have a big party to go to Friday night so might do it Friday morning if nothing has arrived by then. Wish it would decide what its doing as if I'm not PG then its another WTF cycle :(

nickstermum · 11/10/2010 19:15

fondant did you do a test? Seems a bit odd when you are reg as clockwork to get 1 week late ? have you been stressing about it?

My body is all over hte place... feel like i am drowning (TMI sorry) in fluid!!! BONKERS!

inbetweener · 11/10/2010 19:13

Oh and yes, my name is after the programme. Juvenile I know, but oh so funny lol. Just what I need tonight too

inbetweener · 11/10/2010 19:11

Thanks PFF will trawl back.

You girls are lovely x

inbetweener · 11/10/2010 19:10

Just thought I would pop back and ask if its normal after a loss to bleed SO much. Im aware that's probably a silly question but I was only 6 days late with a BFP when I started bleeding. I honestly am bleeding LOADS. I just went to the loo and it went everywhere, the bowl was filled ! All clots too. Im pretty positive now that this happened to me two months ago too only I didnt test that time si I cant be sure, but it was almost this bad.

Why do they happen ? Im 36 now but have had 2dd age 6 and 8 with no problem. I really did take it for granted and think it would be easy Blush
Is there anything I can do to try and stop another oh ladies of wisdom ?

PinkFondantFancy · 11/10/2010 19:08

Hey inbetweener congratulations on the BFN, weird as it sounds that is good thing and means you can draw a physical line under it at least. Yep call it day 1 now. Go gentle on yourself and try not to stress about the trying again (I know it's impossible though!), a few pages ago we were talking about whether to try again straight away so you might find some of that quite interesting. x

inbetweener · 11/10/2010 18:41

Evenng all,
Well before I read you kind responses I went and POAS. It was a resounding BFN !!!!!
So I guess everything has gone. The way I am bloody bleeding it sure feels like it. I feel horrid.
Soooo, its back to trying again. Is this day one ? I dd ask earlier but wasnt sure if I was clear ?
God this is hard.

PinkFondantFancy · 11/10/2010 18:36

Hello ladies!
Are you sitting comfortably? I?ve got a feeling this might be a long one!

Ok in breaking news I?ve bloody started bleeding so am dumping myself at the bottom of the list in a minute. Fook fook fook. As I ranted about the other week, since MC period has always been 28 days almost to the hour, and weirdly this rocked up at exactly the time I would have expected, just a bloody week late! So weird. I now feel like a bit of a tit for not having tested since last Thurs as it would have been good to know if anything happened in the meantime as I feel like my left boob is going to fall off it hurts so much and I feel like I?m going to puke my guts up. However, more likely the pukiness is down to the minging cold I guess. .. Still, might as well chuck another few quid at it and POAS tomorrow morning, just to check. And I?m going to check v. carefully for any clots or anything that looks odd this time around, as it is just so weird to be so late. So anyway things I?m going to do differently this month:

  1. Temp with my new shiny BBT thermometer which is currently winging its way to me
  2. Read taking charge of your fertility, also on its way to me now
  3. Don?t break Mr F so he?s not out of action for a week at a time!
  4. Use my new shiny fertility monitor that?s also somewhere in the postal system
  5. Use pre-seed, again, also probably in the same postman?s sack (I hope he?s not checking what he?s delivering to me otherwise he?s going to be really scared!!! Didn?t dare get any of this stuff delivered to work!!!)
  6. Book appointment with private consultant to get full blood screens taken to hopefully rule out stuff that might indicate tendency to recur PHEW!!! No pressure or anything velvet but it?s up to you for this month now!! Everything crossed for you!

mummya everything crossed for AF to arrive for you, any sign yet? This thing is so weird isn?t it, having spent so long hoping AF doesn?t turn up! Good work on the chilli for 20!! You domestic goddess you! Hehe don?t think I?ll be temping in the vagingo although I do sleep with my mouth open so that might explain why FF struggles so much with the random numbers I give it!

Hehehe I?m with you all on the getting washing dried outside thing, it?s great!

Hello jammy haven?t seen you for ages! I am completely with you that if cycles could just be 28 days with ov on day 14 this whole process would be SOOOOOO much easier to deal with!!

izzy mushroom cider sounds excellent! Sounds like you had a really lovely day yesterday, nice way to end the weekend!

ladybee hope you had a lovely evening yesterday. Good work on having a proper night out on a school night ? I am so not up to that anymore, I get soooo hungover I just can?t go out if I?ve got to go to work the next day!

nix I have a v. funny image in my head of you pretending to be a space hopper :-D Glad DH is being more supportive now!

choccy thanks for the list, I was about to have a brain meltdown so it was v. useful! I need to just check that I?ve hooked up with everyone, have a feeling I?ve left some people off so will have a look this evening. Hehehe good work on DTD on a green day  Fingers crossed the sexstrike doesn?t happen! Sorry about BFN. AandR I need to look for you on bookface, I?ll message you in a bit. Not sure I?ve got velvet either, I?ll check in a sec.

mousey congrats on the feint positive, good news. It?s all wrong that you end up testing in the hope of a negative, but we?ve all been there :-S You?re on the final straight now, hang in there.

mamap good work on the hugs, surely it?s good luck to hug a new baby isn?t it????!?! I saw your wedding pics on bookface, they are lovely!! Where did you get married, it looks gorgeous! Hehe it?s weird, my DH is glad I?m getting a thermometer and pee sticks as he was getting worn out with my attitude that since I have no idea when ov happens we should SWI all month  Hope your DH is ok and the op goes well.

Hi inbetweener and KT sorry for your losses  Hopefully you?ll find this thread of some comfort, I certainly have.

inbetweener gynae told me that you count the day you get a negative test as day 1. I know it?s expensive but I found it useful to use a digital preg test so that I could see the ?weeks since conception? go down over time and reassure myself that things were going in the right direction. Well done on coming home from work, being on the sofa in your pjs is the only place you should be right now. I would definitely at least phone your GP for advice, and also to make sure it goes on your records. My EPU didn?t test bloods but it seems that West Hertfordshire has a fairly cowboy-ish attitude to MC in general so not surprised. DPO is days post ovulation. Are you named after the TV prog by the way? That is soooo the best thing on telly by a really long way.

batfink love the new name!! Hope your family is feeling better now ? there?s nothing worse than a stomach bug  especially when you have it all weekend! You poor thing, glad you?re feeling a bit better. Good luck with the exam! Stay away from here until then, we?ll make sure we save you some chocolate for when you get back.

apples good call making appt with GP, hopefully they will be supportive. Don?t feel stupid for wanting early appt, I think it?s a good idea.

dachs good to hear the building work went well, despite the builder being a bit rubbish.

wombat hope you had a good weekend away. owly hope Spain was lovely if you?re back again now?

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/10/2010 18:14

choccy don't worry about feeling daft, I have POAS many a time after AF has been because she still came when I was PG with DS so I don't trust her at all!! Just wanted you to know you weren't alone and I hope you feel better soon.

mamapower right - that's us sorted then so where are the bfps?!! Seriously, that is good news - the more people I hear telling me the same thing the more reassured I feel. Still would rather cycle stayed the same length instead of steadily decreasing, but hopefully acupuncture will help with that. Smile

MamaPower · 11/10/2010 17:49

Izzy Just a quickie, had response from GP friend who has confirmed it's all about the progesterone. However noted a short luteal could be an indication of other underlying problems, in our case unlikely to be of any significance though because we can conceive. She was also less concerned as although my cycle isn't what it was it's still a regular cycle! Seems we're good to go Grin

Choccybick · 11/10/2010 17:38

Hiya

I´m home from work and feeling as sick as a dog again. Had a mysterious feeling could be up-duffed despite AF being with me last week, just because I feel so sick.......so after Izzy even asked I came home and POAS.
BFN of course. Just like last week. I´m feeling like a freak by even contemplating doing the test and wasting a few euros again, but had such a strange feeling over the past week and been feeling really tired.
Well at least I know I must be a bit poorly not pregnant. Obviously dont like working after 2 weeks of holidays. Smile

no fish slapping please

nickstermum · 11/10/2010 16:52

No batfink dont answer! STUDY HARD!!!

Welcome inbetweener too. sorry that you are on here, hope that your stay is short! Get yourself home lovely, and to the EPU for a scan just to make sure everything is clear :( They need to check it out.
Cry it out and dont be afraid to grieve, we have all done it (and survived...ish!)
You need to get the EPU to check everything including your bloods etc.... thats my opinion anyway xx

mummy am sure it will arrive in the next few days....x

fondant and apples hey snuffles...!! >

get that hot juice down you,
combination of Lavendar oil, peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil will help either just on your pillow or in a steam/oil burner in the room. Homeopathic remedies of belladonna for sore throat and pulsatilla if you are feeling teary and for the snot mucas levels!!!

Grin Grin

nickstermum · 11/10/2010 16:26

OI BATFINK... hadnt noticed... howd'ya do that then!??!?!

Mwahahahahahah

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/10/2010 16:04

Welcome to ktrace and inbetweener - I'm so sorry for both your losses, it's a horrible time but you will get loads of support here.

inbetweener I'm glad you've gone home, there's no point making things harder by trying to work and you wouldn't be able to to anything anyway in all probability. Take a bit of time and start to get your head around things. I second choccy re the pg test, it would probably still show +ve now anyway. To give you a rough idea, mine was negative a week after the ERPC but some people do take longer than that. Sadly there seems to be no "normal" on that first cycle, which makes things even more difficult to deal with. But stick around and feel free to ask any questions you need to, it can be a very lonely time in RL.

choccy - did you poas?!

appleblossoms do not let them make you feel guilty, make as many appointments as you need to reassure you!

jamface I would count first "proper" AF day as cd1, not just when spotting. I think 10 days is ok (and of course if you're just spotting at 10 days it doesn't count anyway). My dr says short luteal phase is not a problem anyway only progesterone levels, but I have to admit I'm a bit Hmm about that (mine was 8 days last month with spotting from 6dpo).

pink and velvet - any news?

Wombat33 · 11/10/2010 15:49

Hi all. Not had time to catch up properly as I was away for the weekend but I wanted to say a quickhello to you all and especially the new arrivals.

Choccybick · 11/10/2010 14:54

Inbetweener im glad to hear you Bit the bullet and took up the courage to go home.
Relax and take care of yourself. Do you have pains??
I always felt much better with myselfin the bath, but the doc told me not to when m/cing as it could lead to infection. Now I really don't want to worry you but she seemed alright when I said I'd already been having baths, so it can't be all that bad. Do what you feel is right. I live in the bath. It's my evening calm down ritual before bed.
I also don't think doing a preg test right now will help you get a clear answer. It will probably show up positively, due to the hcg hormone still being I. Your system. Only a doc / blood test will be able to detect if this value goes down. I know it's soooo hard and somehow the natural mc is awful just waiting for it all to happen, but you'd best go to the doc because they'll need to keep a check on your values and check next week again

Sending you hugs and hope you add some naughty comfort food treats onto your online shop.
X

MummyAbroad · 11/10/2010 13:47

Hello peeps

Inbetweener sorry for your loss. Please dont struggle through without getting some good rest, support and help. Its no small thing to go through no matter how far advanced you are (your body is still producing large amounts of pregnancy hormones which now will fall back to normal, this in itself is a rough ride) Keep posting on here if it helps, it can be a very lonely experience if you have no one to talk to. xxx

Jamface you have to wait for first day of full flow. If you havent seen this already theres lots of good info here www.pregnancyloss.info/first_period.htm
According to that site it takes a few cycles for things to get back to normal, so if you have got short LP now it doesnt necessarily mean this is permenant (but seeing as spotting doesnt "count" you dont necessarily have short LP.

I still havent got AF but have now read it could take up to a week after finishing progesterone... please let it be soooooooooon! xxx

inbetweener · 11/10/2010 13:37

Thank you all for your welcome. I am home.
I told boss I felt ill, phone OH and we wen and had some lunch. Am now gonna do a Tesco shop online and followed by a hot bath. I feel ICK !!!!

Am sooo sad but hey, onwards and all that.

I shall do a test ( picked up 4 in Boots as they were doing buy one get one free on first response). SO if I get a BFN this day one right ??

By the way, what does DPO mean ?
I get CD as cycle day, just cant figure DPO out lol.

Thanks all for your kindness xx

youremindmeofthebat · 11/10/2010 13:22

I am so not meant to be on here, i have exams weds! shout at me if you see me again before weds pm!

youremindmeofthebat · 11/10/2010 13:21

FF counts it as first day of normal flow, jamface. I think LP ends when AF starts, A short one is less than 10 days. Do you temp for Ovulation, ie are you certain you ov'd when you did, iyswim?

Jamface · 11/10/2010 12:37

Me again. I have a question and thought one of you ladies is sure to know the answer. So, I've started spotting and am pretty sure it's AF coming. Do I count the day I start spotting as day 1 of cycle or when AF starts full flow? Also, spotting started 10 dpo. Does that mean conception would not have been possible due to short luteal phase or does luteal phase end when proper AF starts.

Something else to worry about Angry

Choccybick · 11/10/2010 12:19

Hellooooooooo

Inbetweener I agree totally with the others. Please tell your boss you feel sick and go home. Go to the doctors tomorrow and tell them to check you out (or to the EPAU near you) they should take a look and will be able to confirm or clear your mind.
I had a natural mc at 7 weeks in July. It happened similar...first a bit of brown spotting then the next day full flowing and horrible cramps. I spent Tues-Friday just going back to the hospital everyday so they scanned me and took my HCG values in blood until they could confirm they went down and there was nothing much to see and no more heartbeat. Fortunately I didnt have to have the ERPC.
PLEASE take the time off this week! Even though it helps taking your mind off things at work, its not the right place to be when your bleeding and very upset. Get yourself on the couch and drop in here - we´re there for you.

KT sorry to see you here too - but I agree with Appleblossoms - we are a fab bunch and you´re in the right place.

Apple no need to feel silly. You did the right thing..

YRMOTB Bat? very halloweenish....are the kids knocking at the doors already??
Im quite sad Halloween isnt a big thing here, although the Germans are cottoning on to it slightly. But I will be in Dublin for Halloween this year and will drink some Guiness or maybe not...depending on AF....
I love PUMPKIN time too....Ive already made 2 big batches of pumpkin soup. yummy....but usually Im sick of it by the time November comes. Have to go easy this year. Esp. if I want to keep in DHs good books regarding SWI

Velvet Wink PVV Wink we´re eagerly awaiting your positive news....Wink

Nickster also had to laugh at your post about your DH thinking your´re obsessive about TTC, Mine too.....at least I proved a point yesterday by doing it without having a "green" day. Grin I´ll probably hear something about sexstrike mid next week again.

Mummyabroad wow thats a hell of a lot of food.Confused Hope the chilli went down well.

Ladybee how´s the hangover??Grin

A&RMum Hi -got your fb message. :-)

HI to EVERYONE else i haven´t greeted personally. There´s just so many of us in here, its sometimes impossible to remember everything. I feel somewhat braindead on Mondays anyway. Im at work and needing some time away from my marketing number crunching today. not my kinda thing at all.
Would you believe i had to scratch ice off my car this morning and now its 20° and ive been sunning it in my lunchbreak. no wonder my body feels confused. Grin I was playing with the idea of Grin POAS Grin despite having AF because i feel so dizzy and strange since the past week. Perhaps it really just is this weather.

Okay....speaking of numbers - I´ll attempt Mondays list! Smile

YRMOTB - great new name!

DachshundsRule · 11/10/2010 12:00

Hello people.

We seem to have a lot of newbies. Sorry you find yourselves here. Welcome all - you'll need some supplies

apple congrats! and I hope the appointment goes well.

I managed not to murder my builder after all, even though when I got home on Friday (he had promised me he would finish) he hadn't been at all! He did eventually answer his phone on Saturday and came round to finish the job, but it was a ll very stressful. DH and I were supposed to decorate the lounge and dining room at the weekend but obviously we couldn't finish until the builder had gone, so instead of being mainly done on Saturday we had to spend most of Sunday working too. But now it's all done! (Apart from the carpet on the stairs and the landing, which is being fitted on Saturday). So when I go home tonight I'll be able to enjoy it - last night we were too knackered to do anything except burble gently and stare at the TV.

I could have done with the weekend off though - have got a horrible snuffly lurgy which some of the rest of you seem to be suffering from too

Take care all - have a nice Monday
