Old thread here

Welcome aboard, make yourselves comfy I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy ride! Wink

Woo hoo! AC, fab news! See, this is a lucky train!:o

I'm starting to feel a little bit more human! Food helps, although I am dreading weigh day 2moro! Confused

How can I explain to DH that I need (yes, I think that is the right word) another baby?! He just thinks we should be pleased that we have DD. I am, really and truly so happy & grateful to have her, I just don't feel 'complete'! (I realise that is such a cliche) Need to go & write my 'pro baby list' so I can try & convince him to TTC. Will probably help clear my head a bit too Hmm

Some news everyone: the shark just texted me to say I have an interview!!!

AmandaCooper · 11/11/2010 12:39

In that case HP I am sorry for the misunderstanding and shall come sheepishly back for a visit!

AutumnDays · 11/11/2010 10:03

Huh? You didn't offend me, dafty! I dont think anyone has ever offended me on any thread (although I'm slightly offended by the AIBU one Wink ). Perchance it was a 'came across weirdly in typing' scenario? Anyway, no offense taken or given, hopefully! We are all in the same boat here....

I just saw you were posting here and thought I would drop by and see how you were. Assumed you had moved on from the 'should I/shouldnt I' to the 'I really want to but have to wait'.

YTD has had a girl, so beautiful. We are now awaiting the birth story, as it was a 46 hour labour followed by EMCS, bless her.

Anyway, enough hijacking of your thread...good luck ladies, all the best....

bebejones · 11/11/2010 09:49

How rude!!! Shock

Like Autumn said, must be so nice to be in a position to just do what you want!

Excuse us all for being responsible enough to know we need to wait! It's called family planning! (I know that probably sounds really rude & arrogant but you guys know what I mean!)

I'm grumpy today anyway so that probably didn't come out right! feel so rough, have lost my voice & can barely walk without feeling dizzy! This is a really nasty cold, no wonder poor DD has been suffering! :( Will come back later when I'm feeling happier & less argumentative! Hmm

I started reading that thread and then left because is was scared it would start giving me ideas!!!

AmandaCooper · 11/11/2010 09:25

HP I left the ditherers thread because I thought I had offended you!

AutumnDays · 11/11/2010 08:03

Hi Amanda (it's HP, by the way, just namechanged to avoid a work person tracking me down). How are things?

I think they meant us as well, we may have been included in the "making big decisions" sweeping statement!!

Don't worry about it, it must be nice to be in a position where you know exactly what you want and are in the right circumstances to go for it. Not so nice to judge others who aren't in that position!

(guess what - YTD had a real life actual baby!!)

AmandaCooper · 11/11/2010 07:32

Oh dear they mean us!

"The whole ttc, making big decisions about exactly when to do it, joining a thread about "waiting" to do it. It's all a bit loopy."

jbells · 10/11/2010 19:54

evening all

another quick one gettin so fed up without a laptop now just going to buy anythin tomoro i think

just want to wave to everybody

love all the engagement stories i really hope to get engeaged one day seems a long way off tho :(

bebe hope you FEEL better (please dont fall)

nannyl · 10/11/2010 18:07

oops hadnt finished didnt meant to post...

bebe hope you fell better soon

i felt awful last night, and my temp was 1C more than normal (I know my normal temp as i take it daily) so i went to be bed and sleep at 9pm and after 10 hours sleep i felt fine Smile

WYorkshire lass, how exciting... i had the sxame issues in Septmeber, i WAS ovulating and had a +ve OPK about an hour before, but again the little swimmers wernt set free and i am not pg Smile

am getting stupidly excitied about TTC now... one member of staff gave birth last night and spent lunch in the staff room with friend who is 29 weeks pg, discussing babies /birth etc etc. Its all so exciting and i wish i could blurt out im trying but i have to say "when i eventually have children" (as if its a long way away) which i hate!...

nannyl · 10/11/2010 18:02

awww

what lovely engagement stories...
If only OH would ask me to marry him....
we do plan to get married, (and we really do) but are not engaged

bot of our parents are divorced, and we both have a parent on their second divorce Shock and due to his parents divorce OH doesnt want to marry yet Hmm
but he knows i do and in time im sure we WILL marry.

Now im so close to TTC i dont want to marry until i have lost all my baby weight, and given that i want 4 it might be a few years yet (though plan to have them close, so children under 5, i must be mad yes!)

AmandaCooper · 10/11/2010 17:54

WYorksLass you mean he hasn't insisted on the morning after pill?! Lol. I do think these little slips are all part of the process, they fix your mind on how much you do - or don't - want it. On this thread's track record I'll be amazed if you're not!

100years that's a lovely story. I always feel a bit uncomfortable about the idea of a proposal that comes completely out of the blue. Ours was three years ago now - that's gone quick!

JustShaggingForNow · 10/11/2010 16:04

Ahhhhhhhh - loving the engagement stories on here!

DH booked a day off work for me through my boss and took me on a surprise one nighter to Paris (we had to be back on the Saturday for my granny's 80th) where he proposed in the freezing cold and rain overlooking the Eiffel Tower. I called my Parents (who already knew) and best friend and then we agreed not to tell any of the fmaily and just wait for them to notice my ring at the party the following night. Double celebrations!

I did feel a bit bad crashing my granny's 80th with engagement news but it was only a family party and she said it was a brilliant birthday gift!!!

bebejones · 10/11/2010 14:15

100 - That is just so lovely! :)

I didn't get a 'proper' proposal! DH had casually dropped it into conversation & we were sort of 'unofficially' engaged for ages (only a few friends knew) but the official story ie. The one we told our parents, was that he proposed at New Years 06/07. We got married 1st December 2007! Nearly 3 years and it has gone so fast!

I swear I have eaten more chocolate than can possibly be good for me today! Feeling so miserable & full of cold! :(

OP posts:
WYorksLass · 10/11/2010 14:04

I remember too. OH proposed on holiday and we rang parents/siblings as soon as we got back. They then passed the news on to Aunts/Uncles etc. We then gathered all our mates together for a night out and told them. Only then could i announce it to everyone else via Facebook, i was desperate to change my status, sad eh?!

OH and i had a slight "contraception failure" last night. I'm pretty sure none of the little swimmers escaped but it's possible and i am around ovulation! I did (jokingly) accuse OH of trying to get me pregnant so soon on purpose. He replied he wasn't then but that the pinholes he'd put in all the condoms would see to that Wink. Anyway, neither of us are that bothered, we'd be trying in 2 weeks anyway! Just might be on an earlier bus although v. unlikely.

squirrel007 · 10/11/2010 13:18

100years that's a lovely story :) my DH proposed a year ago and I remember the frustration of not being able to say anything before we'd told people. Wanted to tell family and friends face to face and it took about a month between the proposal and being able to put anything on facebook! Enjoy having your secret for a while :)

js great news about the other job - definitely sounds worth applying to!

Thanks bebe and jbells for the advice, will definitely see if I can get a morning scan. MW appt is on Tues now, not too far away. Just need to get through a friend's 30th first without giving anything away!

WYorksLass · 10/11/2010 12:25

Awww 100, that's so lovely, i think i might cry, in a good way :)

100years · 10/11/2010 12:14

Hiya peeps.

I loved WhyWait's comment about being a home owning wife and mum in the next few years, it's kind of Shock too!!! LOL

Well I let the cat out of the bag really on the way to the holiday after talking about Mum asking if we were trying, I couldn't hide that something had started that conversation and so ended up saying to him about that as well. Anyway when we got there we walked down this one street and he said 'oh look there's a jewellers' and we looked in the window, and at the next one, and so on and so forth. We talked about it without him actually asking the question but he knew what the answer would be anyway.

Went out for a meal on the Saturday night and on the way back to the hotel we stopped on a bridge over the river, he looked at me said 'is this pretty enough for you?' then I started welling up! Then he asked me to marry him, and I said yes. :o So not a surprise when he asked, but it's not about it being a surprise, it's about the fact he actually asked me :o I am sooooper happy about it.

I'm actually getting a necklace instead of a ring, personal preference at the moment and I will have a ring when we get married, so I'm searching for sparkly necklaces, have seen a few, will prob be a solitaire diamond on white gold chain.

We still have loads of people to tell, and so until we have told the specific people we want to tell we won't be changing our relationship status on Facebook to engaged(much as I am desperate to), we really don't want close friends finding out third hand or from the internet, if you know what I mean, but it's great to talk about it in here openly.

Really busy week this week with work etc, so not really chance to catch up with everything that's been happening, hopefully I will get some chance to check in on Friday.

JustShaggingForNow · 10/11/2010 10:12

bebe I totally get you feeling broody on the run up to xmas. It must be even worse when you already hvae your DD who is all excited about Father Christmas!

I've got supper at my cousin's tonight and they hae the cutest 1 year old little girl and a very smart (terrifyingly so!) and cute 3 1/2 year old little boy. DH is supposed to be working late but he LOVES James (the toddler) and so is trying very hard to make it too. All part of the grand scheme to persuade him that TTC will not end his life!

Had a very strange dream last night that I started at my new job and the found out that I was pregnant. Now that was a very awkward meeting with my new boss!!!!

Sorry to hear that the DC's have been misbehaving :(

bebejones · 09/11/2010 20:18

Squirrel - I second Jbells, try & go for a morning scan if you can, much better! Less stressful (you don't have to wait all day for it) and I found it easier with all the water you have to drink (I don't tend to drink that much Blush)!

JBells - I feel your pain! I could so easily have put DD up for sale on ebay on Sunday! She NEVER eats nice home cooked dinners, but will scoff down a plate of chips or spaghetti hoops like they are going out of fashion! (Although she did eat sausages with homemade apple & onion gravy & mash this evening...but that is a rare occurance!) Hmm Drives me insane, hate throwing food away!

JS - Can't hurt to keep looking. You have something to go to know, even if it's not 100% what you wanted!

SOOOOOOOOO broody, as Christmas gets closer & closer I just want it more and more! I know I should be grateful that I already have DD, but I just don't feel complete as a family. I can't really explain it. How can I miss a child that doesn't even exist?! Confused

JustShaggingForNow · 09/11/2010 16:42

Yup! only 16 days and 50 mins left working for BFH.

Typically another recruitment company have come to me with a better role, more money and actually in Bath so no travel........ have decided that sending off my CV can;t hurt. They probably won't be interested as I think it's a bit above my CV but we'll see what happens. It never rains but it pours!!!
