Welcome aboard, make yourselves comfy I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy ride! Wink

Morning all.

Im here with my breakfast in bed again Smile. Love OH so much lol. Have told him that its

bebejones · 12/11/2010 21:49

Oh yes, JBells Good Luck for the interview!

Quod - :o Maybe he would, or maybe he would find 20 different ways to say the same con over & over...he's a bit like that!! Hmm I just need to catch him on a good day.

OP posts:
Quodlibet · 12/11/2010 21:40

Ah Bebe, you might be surprised! If you got him to make a pros and cons list in the first place, he'd at least give some thought to the issue, and then who knows, he might find pros he hadn't noticed before (in another context that last bit of the sentence would be SO WRONG)

Squirrel you seem to be getting on OK...how have you found adjusting to being pregnant for the first time? (physical symptoms aside). Us uninitiated need to know these things!

100 another vote here for the 'treat yourself' - it's a really really really good excuse to do so.

JS clearly you're of higher value to your firm than you knew you were...take that knowledge into your new job. I think women have a tendency to underestimate how much other people think of us.

jbells good luck with the interview tomorrow.

bebejones · 12/11/2010 21:29

JS - That is positive that they don't actually want you to leave!

Squirrel - I didn't get 'the hunger' til about 20weeks! (Was too sick) From that point I just ate everything in sight. I remember going to a friends baby shower (around Easter time) and I ate 5 hot cross buns, one after the other, about 20 small sausage rolls & half a tube of pringles all in the space of an hour & a half!! Blush No wonder I had so much 'baby weight' to lose!

Don't think I'm brave enough to ask DH for his pros & cons list! Hmm Not entirely sure he'd come up with any pros given his frame of mind at the moment! :(

OP posts:
squirrel007 · 12/11/2010 21:15

x-posted js, is moving to Bath another reason for leaving your current job? It's good that your team head appreciates you and obviously wants you to stay :)

JustShaggingForNow · 12/11/2010 21:13

Sorry bells xpost! Congrats on your 12 weeks!!!

squirrel007 · 12/11/2010 21:13

Hi all!

nannyl Shock four children under 5! Sounds tough :) Although, DH and I agree that while it's probably tough at the beginning, having kids close together might be easier when they are older.

AC I saw that thread too. I didn't read the comment as a criticism of people on this thread, more a kind of frustration that people want to control exact timings so closely. It was an interesting read though and I know it's a subject that's close to your heart. Yay for the interview though, when is it?

bebe your pros and cons list seems very complete. Wonder if it's a good idea to ask your DH to do the same?

jbells congratulations for getting to 12 weeks! Glad the nausea has eased too :)

100years the necklace sounds lovely, and of course you should get the matching earrings Grin

This weekend I don't have much planned, need to finish off some xmas shopping and go to a friend's birthday drinks tomorrow eve, but the rest of the time is free. Will probably just relax and take it easy. I though being sick was the main symptom of pregnancy, which I haven't had yet - but no-one told me about hunger! I am eating for about 3 at the moment and not impressed to read that I shouldn't be eating any more than usual during the first trimester Hmm Just the thought of not eating is enough to make me feel faint and dizzy! I have just finished dinner and I think some of that apple and blueberry crumble will go down very nicely bebe :)

JustShaggingForNow · 12/11/2010 21:12

Oh bebe that sounds yummy!!! Managed to avoid getting too plastered at lunch but didn't go back to the office!

The head of the team asked me to stay and when I told him that I just couldn't cope with working for The BFH any longer he said that there were always ways around that. He has said that they won't take on anybody on a permanent basis and that I can come back whenever I want. All very confusing as the reason for leaving is the BFH............

jbells · 12/11/2010 19:06

thanks for all the congrats on making it to 12 weeks seems like a milestone getting the first trimester out the way, to be honest i havnt really felt the urge to tell anyone other than close family and friends people will prob just see me with a bump one day and realise lol
got interview for a weekend job tomoro really hoping i get it money is tight and it will save on DD's nursery fees, fingers crossed

bebe- your prob right about talking to DH over xmas hols when he is a bit more relaxed and not so focused on work,so glad your blood tests cameback ok

100- glad u have found a nice diamond necklace that u like def think u shud treat yourself to earings aswell

Whywait- no exciting plans here either just the interview which i am not looking forward to i hate interviews, and then sundaylunch with DP DD his dad and sister on sunday

waves to everyone

bebejones · 12/11/2010 18:05

No exciting plans here either! We were supposed to be clearing out the understairs cupboard (oh the exciting life I lead) but the ILs can't have DD & it's impossible if she is 'helping'! Hmm

JS - Hope you didn't get too bladdered at lunch & managed to get your train! I used to 'commute' to see DH when we first started dating & used to get the Friday rush hour train from Paddington to Bristol....heaving & hellish! Bet you can't wait to relocate?!

JBells - Yay on 12 weeks! Are you officially telling people now?

WW - Not sure when is best to talk to DH Confused He is mega stressed at the moment so don't think it'll be this weekend. I might attempt it over the Christmas break, unless it 'comes up' before. I won't be at the right point cycle wise to TTC until January anyway!
Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Just had a massive bowl of homemade apple & blackberry crumble & custard & am now feeling pleasantly full & warm. Going to slob about on the sofa with DD before she goes to bed! Hopefully shall be on MN later! :)

Quodlibet · 12/11/2010 17:05

Hurrah for Friday!
Good news on your blood tests Bebe.
And congrats JS on 12 weeks - does this mean you'll be telling people who don't currently know?

No exciting plans this end for the weekend - unfortunately there's still rather a lot of work to be done in this household. Oh! apart from a karaoke birthday tomorrow LAAAAAAA!

Blood tests came back fine! Woo Hoo! So come Dec 24th I will have the medical green light to TTC! Just need to drag DH on board Hmm

I'm hoping that he might get swept up with all the Christmas excitement & have a change of heart. When he isn't stressed & working all the time he's bound to be a bit more open to the idea!

100 - I found it difficult to get the hang of the charting temp thing, I never seemed to get a relaible reading! Confused Plus coz my cycle has been so all over the place it made it even trickier. Hence why I bought the OPKs!
Very exciting that you have picked the necklace! Bet you can't wait to get it & show it off?! :)

OP posts:
100years · 12/11/2010 11:46

Good morning folks, I have read back and caught up, please excuse me for not posting individual messages back to people, I just finished my nights.

I think we have picked a necklace that we like, it's a 0.5carat solitaire on an 18K white gold chain. There are also earrings to match, which I am considering (more than likely will) buy for myself to go with said necklace! But we are going to go round some jewellers tomorrow and have a look and see if not we will order off line.

Congrats on the interview AC :o

Yay for 12 weeks jbells

I'm not sure where I'm at in relation to ovulating, but we are obviously DTD with it all in mind. Am on day 14 today, given last month was a 35 day cycle I have possibly a week before ovulation. My temp is too up and down at the moment to get an accurate reading I think and the thermometer seems to read slightly different depending on where I put it under my tongue, and my tongue aches underneath now, I've even swapped sides etc.

bebejones · 12/11/2010 11:36

Took me s long to write the post I xposted! Have fun at lunch! :o

OP posts:
bebejones · 12/11/2010 11:35

Definitely no problems with overcrowding on this train this morning!! Where is everyone?

Did my 'list' scare everyone off! Wink

WW - Yes that is a definite 'con', but I know deep down he does want another one, just maybe not at the moment Confused. 'At the moment' is what is best for me, & while I am aware that that is totally selfish, it is me who does the majority of the childcare anyway & it is me who will ultimately have to cope physically health wise through a pregnancy & afterwards.

Re: school, I will look up email for the school nearby. It's the one we want DD to go to anyway, so would be good to 'make contact'! :o

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday?!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 12/11/2010 11:29

Good Morning! and very happy Friday to you all.

So pleased that it is the weekend and the head of the team sent an email round this morning to say that because we won a massive pitch last week he is buying a few drinks for lunch.

Last time he bought lunch one of the other PAs and I fell back into the office at 6pm smashed and I almost missed my train to Bath because I got lost on the tube Hmm. Really muct make sure that I don't drink too much today as I am guessing DH won't find it so funny if I miss the train!!!

WhyWait - Valid 'Pros', thanks! I do have time on my side on the age front (I've only just turned 28) but I do need to hurry up because of the MS, even though it doesn't pose a threat to pregnancy.
How did you arrange to go and do 'work experience' at the school? Did you just write/ring them and ask? This is something I really need to organise. I keep putting it off because I'm hoping I'll be pregnant soon...Hmm

Nannyl - How cute practising the nativity play! :) I have 8 days of folic acid left, so really seems all real now that I need to think about getting some prenatal vitamins! Ought Need to talk to DH first though :(

Quod - what's the book about? Sounds interesting!

The other Pro I thought of for my list is:
It would be good for us to have something positive to look forward to!

Am going to arrange it in columns so he can see that the Pros outweigh the cons Wink (Not that I engineered it that way! Hmm)

OP posts:
Quodlibet · 11/11/2010 19:40

Bebe, sorry you've been feeling ill, I think that's a great list. You could maybe add that the closer together you have the children, the sooner you can start concentrating on your career again/start a PGCE if that's what you are going to do...

AC that's brilliant news on the job front, well done you.

Hurrah for YTD!

Love the idea of you practising for your nativity play Nannyl! I'm working on a project in a primary school next term (my first one, I've done lots of secondary) and am really looking forward to it, the kids were great when I met them last week.

I've just ordered a book someone recommended to me called Babyhunger, anyone read it?

...waving to everyone else....

AC- thats great news about your interview, do u know when it is yet?

bebe-sorry your feeling ill hope the cold shifts for u soon, i have read thru your list and umakesome very validpoints there is nothing that i think u can add to it at the mo but if i think of anythin i will let u know

nannyl- lol at your dad to be tablets didnt even know they existed

nannyl · 11/11/2010 18:32

wow bebe

thats a pretty huge list and weighing it up it is more than obviouse that trying for a baby is the right decidion and you need to be trying asap...
now is the best time Smile

Congrats AC for your interview Smile

No news here... just been a normal day at school, although we had 2 mins silence (interesting with 3year olds but they did well) we had so much rain the ceiling came in Shock and we started practising our nativity play, and they were all fab Smile

last night i was looking at baby clothes, and spent all night on mother care, boots / M&S / next etc looking at baby stuff and getting even more broody... if thats posible?

am not allowed to buy anything until im PG now says OH Sad

although next weekend he is starting his 'dad to be tablets' for a month before we TTC so the time is coming soon Smile (he has been taking zinc since september anyway!)

bebejones · 11/11/2010 16:55

Ok, so have written a list!

Con: I might possibly relapse.
Pro: I have discussed ways to reduce the possibility of relapse & have established a 'plan' with the professionals!
Con: Things are financially 'rocky'
Pro: There might never be a 'right time' but there will never be a worse time. The only way is up!
Pro: I will never resent/regret another baby but will regret not having one & possibly resent DH for it if we don't have one! :(
Pro: The more time DD has as an only child the harder it could be for her to adjust/accept a sibling.
Pro: A baby is still (roughly) a year away by which time DD will be at playgroup 3 mornings a week.
Pro: The expense will be minimal as we already have all the 'big' stuff. We can't keep storing it indefinitely, there just isn't room!
Pro: By the time potential DC2 arrives DD won't be in nappies anymore!
Pro: I have stopped meds & lost weight & health wise I am in a 'good place'. The longer I leave it the harder it will be.
Con: It'll be harder to spend quality time with DD.
Pro: It would be nice to spend some time with DD and a baby at home before DD starts school.
Pro: I don't want to get out of 'baby mode' & then have to start again
Pro: I don't want to stop/start meds for years. I want to have children & then do everything medically possible to stay on top of things!
Pro: DD likes babies at the moment & is open to the idea as her friend has a new 'baby sister'.
Con: DD might find it difficult to accept a 'baby brother'!
Pro: Being PG & bf are both potentially good for my MS.
Con: I could have hyperemesis again, but at least I know how to help myself feel better!
Pro: I had a clear smear & B12 levels are fine (I don't know that for sure yet but see no reason why they won't be) these are both good pre TTC things
Pro: I know my mum is supportive of me having another baby now & doesn't think I am being irresponsible.
Pro: I think it could be beneficial for DDs behaviour & emotional development.
Pro: I would like to have the same doctor & MW throughout pregnancy as I did last time, the onger we leave it the less likely this will be.
Pro: I am better prepared/ more capable/ less selfish than I was the 1st time!

That's all I have for now...any suggestions? Confused

JustShaggingForNow · 11/11/2010 15:27

Hurrah AC - that is fantastic news :)

bebe I think a pros and cons list is a good idea. If you put some cons on there (make sure that they are ones that are really not an issue) then it will show your DH that you have throught about everything and not just the pros!!!
