Yep fingers crossed work will get sorted. But yes they want me to hang around just incase. Then they keep muttering about council cutbacks- dsperate to get out!
Thats sad about p.monitor, they are a bit to technological for me-I dont understand any of them but it must be incredibly frustrating knowing its there and not being able to use it.
I am having an incredibly lazy day today. Didnt get back from work until early midnight and dh at work so not up to much.
Going to pop to supermarket in abit get some nice stuff for a curry- bought some kashmiri chutney on hols and want to try it out with poppadoms! :)
Then will finish clearing out fitted wordrobes in spare rooom that we are ripping out as want to make it into a bedroom space rather than a junk room (have got tiny box room for that!)
What about you?

AmandaCooper · 26/09/2010 10:36

That's a shame about work, it seems like quite a few of us have hit a wall at work for one reason or other. The situation doesn't sound ideal - having to be available but most of the time not being needed and not getting paid presumably? Hopeyou manage to get them to agree to some better arrangement, or failing that that the other job works out.

I've still got hat stupidly expensive Persona monitor sitting in the cupboard in the bathroom gathering dust. I bought it brand new over two months ago and still haven't been able to use it. After taking any oral contraceptive, you have to wait three months before you can use it, so the MAP has set me back by three more months.

Got any nice plans for today?

amummyinwaiting · 26/09/2010 10:14

Morning AC !
Yep I feel a lot more comfortable with it. Still nervous as its a huge thing that I have never done before but very excited. I still get scared whe I think about money and also that I wont like it when it is a teenger (stupid I know!) but am incredibly excited too.
I'm having a bit of a shit time at work with them messig about with my hours. Have gradually built up over 5 years from working 12hrs a week to 22 now. used to work as and when needed but 6 months ago it was decided I would work three set days a week and then anything else would be up to me if I wanted to do on a casual basis like the rest of the team (like working last night) in the meantime I have got another job for the other two days a week in an area I would like to move into. Now original work are kicking up a fuss that I should be available as and when they need me and that they take priority. Annoying as they implemented three day week which uses up all my hours and because I never got it written into my contract. So I'm thinking if I get pg now then I can push them into having to give me set days due to chidcre and everything and if it takes a while hopefully other job I'm doing will become more permanent (there was talk of it when I went for interview) and I can get rid of first job. Sorry for the rant- just went into work last night, first time after week off and found out that people had been bitching, backstabbing and lieing about me. Just really want to leave. Sad
AC how are you feeling now? Have you decided what to do contraception wise? It wouldnt be fair on you to have to take m.a.pill again so do you think maybe pill would be better?and if you take it with vitamins in the morning might not feel like you are actually taking a contraceptive as such?

AmandaCooper · 26/09/2010 09:53

Amummyinwaiting lovely news about your DH. Did you find that him being supportive and really for it made you feel more comfortable with the idea yourself. i.e. do you think you feel less nervous about the whole thing? I'm so excited for you!!!

AmandaCooper · 25/09/2010 21:08

Oh according to the Stephen Hawkings Universe documentary I have just watched on Channel 4, if we can only get this train to go fast enough, so as to approach the speed of light, then time on board will slow down relative to time off the train, so that when we get off it will be the future!

Oh driver? Wink

AmandaCooper · 25/09/2010 21:05

Hi everyone! Anyone still about? Quod good news that it was the news you wanted. Can't have the magical fertility powers of this thread taking over the decision making process. Too weird! I have no unusual symptoms by the way. Probably for the best.

Bebe I am toasting the Last Jab now with a large glass of red. Can't believe that the whole course of treatment has now been and gone! Day by day it seems like time is standing still but when an event like this comes round you realise we are actually getting somewhere.

Speaking of time passing, I just spent the afternoon with my grandparents. It is my grandad's 84th birthday. He was telling me his experience of losing his memory. It sounds awful, but he was quite matter of fact about it. He was saying he couldn't remember what the house and garden were like when they first moved in, or things from his children's early years. Can't imagine ever being 84... actually I shouldn't worry, I doubt I ever will be with all the punishment (booze, partying, lack of sleep) my poor body has seen in its time!

Hope everyone's doing well and having a nice weekend.

LOL at your comment in brackets, yeah the thread is really containing the broodiness!!!

amummyinwaiting · 25/09/2010 15:53

I think he is more broody than me! (thats a lie- few people can be more broody than us lot!)
He's had real probs with his family over the past year (only 4 of them speak to us now) so I think that this is a new start fr him.
Anway I'm off to work now will be back tommorow!

100years · 25/09/2010 15:45

Oh bless your DH, that's lovely re the pram comment, shows he's really hopeful and interested in it all. :o

amummyinwaiting · 25/09/2010 15:30

Hola ladies!!
Back from a lovely holiday-cat believe the weather was so nice but got work tonight :(

Haven't read the whole 7 pages but jbells congratulations!!! Very exciting for you. We will all be obsessivly following your train now!
AC sorry things have been a bit shitty for you. I know exactly how you mean about condoms as I started to resent them and npt want sex as soon as I saw them too. I would agree with the others tho and say dont go for injection as my periods didnt come back for 18months afterwards (although I was on them for a while)
Exciting news too bebe you are on the home straight now! :)
Well we went from not trying but not using contraception- to trying but not over the top trying- to now my dh being quiet obsessed! All through hols he kept saying "imagine if this time next year we were here pushing a pram" etc etc.
I am on day 15 today- trying desperatly not to get my hopes up. today I got back pain and felt quite heavy...worry its my period building up but fingers crossed.

100years · 25/09/2010 14:25

We've talked some more and it looks more likely to be November now, mentioned my cycles etc and where that would fall and it looks good :o

Does a little dance in the waiting room :o

Still I won't believe it until the time actually comes, you never know what will happen in that time. I have said I'll be going to the docs this month though for med check and he said yeah :o

Got AF today, and it's making me feel very ill :( Poop, had a few days this month where I thought it was here, only to discover 4 hours later that it was some random pv bleed. Hoping this means nothing as I've not suffered like that before.

Yay for bebe and your last jab :)

jbells · 25/09/2010 12:22

morning ladies :)

well its nice and sunny here today so when DD has got up from her nap we are going to take her to a farm and play area in cheshire

BEBE- yay last jab, but boo that it was painfull :) its so annoying when u cant even speak to your OH's without them saying that your nagging when your trying to just point out things that are bothering u, sometimes i dont think he realises how hard it is being home alone with DD most the time, he just thinks i live the life of riley and can go out and do what i want lol, the most annoying or upsetting thing is the little time he spends with DD this is what bothers me must, christ ill be a rite nag then with 2 lol, its hard that u know they are working hard and earning money thats needed but i think with young children its very important to have a gud work/life balance, hey ho hopefully things will improve afta hes been there a while
sorry that u had a bad nite, thats a shame that your mum doesnt help out more, i will say that i am lucky that my mum is 5 mins away and very hands on the only prob is that she works full time so cant help to much because of time but when i am with her and DD i do get a bit of a break as she will part take over with DD which is fine by me :)

QUod- yay that your pleased about AF, and congrats with work, men r always changing there mind about these things think it depends wot time of month it is hehe

Quodlibet · 25/09/2010 11:39

Morning all

Bebe congrats on your last jab! Hurrah.

JS really sorry to hear about you not getting the job. Clearly they're mad. But I wonder if it will be one of those things that you look back on in a couple of months and think 'I'm so glad they didn't give me that job, because then I wouldn't have been free to take this much more awesome opportunity instead'...

Jbells that does sound frustrating with your DP. Mine is away a lot too and it's one of the things I know I'm gonna find difficult to deal with when we finally have small children.

On that front it's not happening here as AF finally arrived yesterday on day 36! Actually I was surprised to find myself incredibly relieved. I'd spent time thinking about what it would be like if I was pg now, and came to the conclusion that I wasn't really up for it! A combination of terror and having to cancel lots of things that I've been waiting a long time for. Yesterday was the last day of a big project for my company that went really well so I got to go out and celebrate my non-pregnant state by getting riotously drunk with my company and having lots of fun and ended up thinking 'I'd really miss this!'

Has all led to a very funny conversation this morning with DP where he's been trying to convince me that we want to have children soon! I think he surprised himself by feeling like he wouldn't mind at all if I had been pg. I quote: 'You want to have a baby, you don't want to have a baby, you want to have a baby, you don't want to have a baby. Will you make your bloody mind up!' Quite bizarre - I'm like, hang on a minute, I thought I was meant to be convincing you!

What are everybody's weekend plans?

bebejones · 24/09/2010 22:07

Jab is done! Hoorah! Although was so hesitant I've ended up really hurting my leg Confused :(

DD was a PITA to settle tonight which isn't like her at all so this is the first chance I've had to get on MN!

JS - :( Their loss...idiots! Chase the Bristol job & get away from the BFH!

JBells - are you me?! My DH does that too, if I try and talk to him about his attitude etc he just says I am 'having a go'. By the time he gets home in the evenings & at the weekends he is so tired (or still has work to do) that he spends hardly any time with DD or me! I can't imagine how frustrating & upsetting it must be for you whilst you are pregnant. Those first few weeks you are so tired & hormonal. Could you try talking to him in an 'interested' way about his new job & what he has been doing to try & engage him in conversation & then move the conversation on to about him spending time with you & your DD?

100 - How exciting! Fingers crossed Novemeber is your month to move up the train!

Had a lovely family dinner, but so knackered now. I get no help from my mum with doing stuff for DD. She'll 'entertain' her but won't change her or bath her or get her a drink etc. So I cooked dinner for 6 & dealt with all DDs needs pretty much on my own! Ready for my bed now! Will try & pop in in the morning before I lose my wireless internet Confused The broadband dongle is not reliable!!

OP posts:
jbells · 24/09/2010 18:26

see thats the thing, i know theres not a lot he can do to change it, but i would be nice sometimes if he seemed bothered about the fact he was away if he moaned about it i prob wudnt bcos id know he wasnt happy about it lol, i have tried talking he just always says that im moaning :(

squirrel007 · 24/09/2010 18:15

I have given up on the caffeine ban and made myself a strong cup of coffee!

Sounds like it's not a great work situation jbells, although is it a good enough opportunity to be worth it in the short term? My HB does a lot of nights away, and I travel sometimes too. It's not always ideal but I can imagine it's harder if you have a child to look after, and I know it's something I'm going to have to deal with. Can you talk it over with him without moaning, maybe another time when you're both relaxed? What would you like him to do?

100years · 24/09/2010 17:59

Hello everyone,

First chance I have had on here for a few days, had a read back and can't see any more BFP news. Lots of AF talk and symptom spotting though.

Having tea with DP the other night and he brought up the topic - for once not me, he mentioned November for TTC, and said well why wait, he said we still need to just chat over things again properly and don't pester me on the 1st of the month, but fingers crossed hey, I might be boarding the train soon. Oh I so want it to be then. That would be so ace. :o

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm shattered, busy at work and have been shopping and visiting people. Looking forward to a weekend with DP.

jbells · 24/09/2010 17:31

hey, all

BEBE- enjoy celebrating your last jab :o, and have a lovely dinner with the family

JS- thats crap u didnt get it theres nothing worse than when they say u were over qualified well if so y the f**k didnt u give me the job! its like theres scared u will move on to soon, there loss in the long run, hopefully something will turn up soon

Squirral- no caffeine is not good especially on long days

im in a bit of a dont know wot to do with DP work situation, he has recently been seconded to a higher position in work and this cud give him good opportunitities in the business, also he is now the majority of the time i think going to be working closer to home than he was, however wot he failed to mention when first telling me about this job that there seems to be a few over nite stays away for meeting and stuff all over the country he is ending up working more hours for the same money and they do not pay overtime, whereas in his last job they paid overtime so in reality he was better off, i dont know wot to do i feel like maybe i am being unreasonable if i moan and say it is taking him away from his home to much but its getting me down that his job seems to be coming before his family, i dont understand it as i am running out the work door as soon as i can to get home to DD, but it just does not seem to bother him, maybe i shud just suck it up and get used to the fact hes not going to be around much, but the fact that im pregnant and exhausted and seem to get no help at home is getting me down

sorry for the rant, its just he was supose to finish around 4 today and actually left at 10 past 5 and i know if i moan when he gets in it will just cause an arguement

squirrel007 · 24/09/2010 16:21

Oh I'm sorry to hear that js :( chocolate cake and cocktails sounds like a good plan.

Have you had the last jab now bebe? Enjoy your holiday!

I'm busy falling asleep at my desk drinking fruit tea and cursing my self-imposed coffee ban!

JustShaggingForNow · 24/09/2010 16:20

Thanks WhyWait - I've been in the bar car for the last 2 hours wondering where everybody else was so may well fall off my bar stool!

It's all gone quiet on the Bristol job so no idea what is happening there. Just feeling really gutted and a bit sorry for myself :(

Yup - news is I didn't get it. They said I was great and that if they had a senior PA position in London then it would be mine but they think I am overqualified and so gave it to the temp. Despite preparing myself for a "no" I am still gutted.

bebe can you make me a GF chocolate cake to cheer me up.

George & Jake - I need tequilla body shots now!!!
