JS not me unfortunately. It should have been my bus (i.e that was the timetable i was working towards this time last year) but I will be watching it leave without me.

Gobolino · 28/09/2010 13:04

Wow, train was busy last night! Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Sorry to hear about your dad nannyl, that sounds so hard. Does he live far away?

Can I ask a newbie question? What's TCOYF? Probably too early for me to start using it, but am curious.

I've been keeping a note of my cycle lengths too JS, they're all over the place. Shortest in the past few months was 28, longest 42 Confused I thought I was in trouble that month! Hope the irregularity isn't anything to worry about, I've been off the pill for months so would have hoped they'd have settled down.

So much to learn!

JustShaggingForNow · 28/09/2010 12:28

Goodness only knows what happened in month 3! I did tests but they were all negative so guessing my hormones are still settling down after being on the pill.

WhyWait - try not to symptom spot too much or you will go insane. I know it's hard and I am sure I will be dreadful when I get around to TTC but the more you think about it the more mad it will make you!!!

AC I can't believe that you are less than 60 days from TTC..... Super exciting!!

My colleague posted photos of her baby on facebook yesterday and she is the most gorgeous little thing ever. I usually think that newborns look a bit funny and some can actually be very ugly looking at the start so was pretty shocked to see that her's was just gorgeous! There seem to be a lot of babies being born at the moment in my grouo of friends, what on earth happened 38 weeks ago?!?!?

Oh it's just so damn exciting on here at the moment! Lots of 2WW, HPTs and symptom spotting. I am a little bit Envy but also very Grin at all of you getting on with TTC and also of those of you who have succumbed to the magic pregnancy inducing abilities of the train!!

Still secretly hoping that I will somehow fall prey to the babymaking train (but I'm not going to do anything to actively encourage this - that idea has been put firmly to bed!!!)

AF arrived 3 days early this cycle. In the last 5 cycles I have had:
#1 - 30 days
#2 - 29 days
#3 - 35 days
#4 - 30 days
#5 - 27 days
So much for getting towards a regular 30 days!! At lease my Persona showed ovulation in my last cycle :)

jbells · 28/09/2010 11:26

WHYWAIT- hope your feeling ok, fingers crossed it was an implantation bleed, i felt like AF was coming for about ten days b4 i found out i was pg, i even went into a shop to buy a preg test and then decided not to as i was convinced AF had started whilst i was there, fingers crossed for u :)

hey Nannyl, bebe, AC, 100 years anyone else who currently onboard and not snoozing hehe

i wud of like to use OPK's however think u can get addicted to peeing on sticks and seeing wot they say, i ordered some more cheap pregnancy tests of ebay the other day just to see if pregnancy line is any darker now its still bothering me a bit that lines were so faint :S

im looking forward to everyone starting TTC soon, its going to be xciting :)

bebejones · 28/09/2010 09:18

Busy old train last night!

I think I will use the OPKs to just get some reassurance that I am interpretting things right. Cant wait to try them out!

Can't believe that bus will be here soon, don't think I'll be borading it 'properly', more using it as a rail link Wink

Nannyl - so sorry to hear about your dad

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 28/09/2010 07:06

Oh you know that September bus so many of us have been waiting for for quite a while? Well it's now due to start boarding in... Wait for it... 57 days!

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 22:40

Does he feel better in his own surroundings? What are the carers like, are they any good?

nannyl · 27/09/2010 22:30

he has better days and worse days...

ultimately his brain has been damaged by his stroke so he wont ever get better, and the doctor thinks he might have had another small one (ie why he has got suddenly a lot worse than before Sad)... be he is no worse this week than last week i dont think, so just hope he stays the same...

he is just very confused, and doesnt understand whe he has carers coming twice a day Sad but thats just how it has to be...

either that or a care home Sad... he isnt even 60 yet Sad

thanks for asking Smile

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 22:18

How's your dad doing by the way? Any sign of improvement?

nannyl · 27/09/2010 22:09

yes i can now (only got my new phone last week so its a novelty but i can!)

normally do it on lappy while eating breakfast though, but used phone when away at the weekend!

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 22:02

Can you get TCOYF for your phone? At the moment I record my temps on Fertility Friend and then transfer them onto TCOYF later.

nannyl · 27/09/2010 22:00

oooh...

think ill have to look at fertility friend. not looked but might plug in my data and see what it says, lol!

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 21:30

Actually now you've said that nannyl, I could probably have done with them this month. I had four separate lots of EWCM, which was very confusing.

Nothing to do with what we're talking about but while I remember, some of us were talking about Fertility Friend website versus TCOYF website. Well I noticed that TCOYF draws the coverline much higher than Fertility Friend, so beware anyone who, like me, is expecting them to be the same.

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 21:26

Terrible isn't it! I don't think about it all the time, but certain things set me off, like doing my temps or going to the loo!

As I say I am quite sure I'm not. Everything is absolutely 100% normal here.

nannyl · 27/09/2010 21:23

not sure if their is anything to gain other than the fact that i know for sure im interpretting my cycle properly...

i used them when i got EWCM (surprised) on CD11 (and it was -ve) (was nice to be able to check)... was -ve CD 12 but +ve day 13 and day 14, -ve day 15, and i only got my temp rise today, day 16

i really like the fact that i know when it was for future reference!

Quodlibet · 27/09/2010 21:20

Welcome Starlight and Gobolino.

AC not you too with the 'oh god, am I?'! Wouldn't it be nice if there was a switch you could use to turn off thinking about the whole thing?

Loving the train catering btw.

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 21:15

Hi nannyl sorry we xposted. Do you think there's anything to gain from using the OPKs now? I figured I've wasted spent too much money already on The Baby Project, without also blowing spending some more on sticks to wee on!

AmandaCooper · 27/09/2010 21:11

Ha you should hear some of the things my DH has to say about MN and everyone on it - they are not flattering! I think but am not certain that he's been reading my posts on here. DH if you are reading this, bugger off!

100years well done on the 10K. Hope you're ok. I expect you've got yourself off to bed now. Jealous of only 5 weeks left to wait! That must be pretty close to the average wait people have for ttc having made the decision - seemingly no time at all! Probably not true but it does seem like it sometimes.

Why don't you just check your cervical fluid and look out for fertile egg white gloop. Then shag like rabbits as you say.

Woke up this morning and took my temp and got a well high reading. Went into a cold sweat of fear over possibly being pg and had to give myself a talking to. I took to MAP within 24 hours and have had absolutely no symptoms, so There Is No Need To Worry.

waves at Bebe

nannyl · 27/09/2010 21:10

weldone on your 10k run 100 years

and very exciting that TTC time is coming round so soon. I vote to get some cheap ebay OPK's, i have some and they are fab...

not TTC until dec /jan but have been OPK'ing since aug to get an idea of my cycle, plus charting it all on TCOYF website (i highly recommned this) and i have a clear blue fertility monitor when we are actually trying but TBH i now think i can read my entire cycle with tcoyf and OPK's so may not have needed CBFM, but have it now so will use it too.

Bebe this weather is dire isnt it... being in all day with 3 year olds is impossible and its so much nicer when its nice when me make them go outside!!!
Lol about dreaming about babies.

not sure ill be here tomo as we have a parents evening, (joy Hmm) so wont be home from school until V late Sad

100years · 27/09/2010 20:29

Hi all,

Just checking in.

Feeling pretty poorly today, had to come home from work with another migraine, although it's the first time in a long time that I've left work early. Had a few hours in bed, had some food and will shortly be heading back to bed.

Had a good weekend, did a 10K race, ran the whole way so I was pleased with that.

I'm feeling a bit more settled today about the wait for TTC, although yes I know it's potentially only 5 weeks away so maybe that has something to do with it. Planning a trip to the docs soon and then I will start sticking holes in the condoms Wink I reckon though I will be back to being impatient in about a day, this comes and goes quite frequently.

My OH saw me posting on here the other day, he's now asking lots of questions about what we get up to and what MN is all about. I told him it's nice to talk to others who are in the same boat as me, and it's helped me realise I'm not a freak as I thought I was the only one who got upset/hormonal/impatient etc etc I think it's helping me with my broodiness, I have an outlet for it.

A good friend had a baby last week, we're going to visit soon, I will just sit there and coo over the baby!!

Now do I buy OPKs to get an idea of my cycle or do I leave it till we are actually trying, or do we have a few months of trying then if nothing has happened get them then????? I'd quite like to have a month or two of shagging like rabbits :o but I know how much I would like to have a BFP, oh help what am I going to be like next month!!!

bebejones · 27/09/2010 19:59

Starlight - I'm another one with a DH who constantly says 'we need to talk about it' Hmm I always think, well what are we doing now?!

I hated being pregnant 1st time round, but really missed it afterwards. Confused I was so sick though that I think that's what put me off at the time. Can't really remember it now...Thank you Mother Nature! :o

I quite enjoyed DD being a baby, finding toddlerhood much harder, but rewarding!

Weather is not set to improve here this week, really frustrating coz means there isn't alot we can do, especially with DD in tow! :(

Next year will be the last year we can come as DD will start school the following year. Maybe I might be PG next time Hmm Had a dream the other night that I went home with a baby...a la Sam Cameron! :o
