hello ladies, back from visiting family now seems i have missed loads while i was away, i will try to catch up as soon as i get a chance, how is everyone?

so i got home to a letter in the post from my employer with my p45 in it! my contract was supose to end on the 29th of oct, but they have took it upon themselves without contacting me to end it on the 5th, im furious they have not even had the decency to ring or email me and have done this while they knew i was on holiday grrrr

JustShaggingForNow · 13/10/2010 09:06

"means wanting to have a baby after a year and a half of marriage and eight years together, at age 33, good jobs, supportive families, nice flat, etc"

AC you are quite clearly insane.... come join me in the padded room, George and Jake are doing striptease and we have wine!!

bebejones · 13/10/2010 08:35

AC - I seem to rememeber one of my nurses saying that it is thought to be safe after 2months but that they always tell people not to try until 3 Hmm So I guess a couple of days won't make any odds!

All probably irrelevant seeing as ff currently has a predicted Dec OV date for me as the 15/16th. Which is too soon! Would have more chance of convincing DH in Jan anyway as that predicted date is around his birthday!! :o Wink

I haven't bought any kind of conception/fertility book. Was kinda hoping I wouldn't need to, that it'd all just happen exactly as planned Hmm Grin

My mum's friend's daughter is pregnant with her 2nd, due in April. For ages my mum was saying she didn't feel old enough to be a granny (she's 58) but now she's getting all excited at the idea!

I now feel under a bit of pressure to get pregnant as soon as we start trying - and it's all my own fault for talking too much about it!

100 - you may have already checked with your doctor, but my migraine meds (taken daily) can actually still be taken in the first trimester (despite what it says in the notice - the doctor has a book which is more accurate than what they write in the notices). I'm planning on stopping them anyway just in case, but I will keep taking them until I get pregnant, which is a big relief.

AmandaCooper · 13/10/2010 07:45

Bebe there's always a buffer zone built into these things to cover the litigation risk.

bebejones · 13/10/2010 07:20

I was actually searching for Christmas decorations online yesterday! DD is obsessed with Father Christmas at the moment & yesterday (whilst potty training) I had to watch Peppa Pigs Christmas episode (with father Christmas in it) 12 times! Hmm

Do we think that 3 months drug free needs to be to the day before TTC? Or will say 3 days make a huge difference?! I'm not sure Confused Obviously if it'll be weeks I wouldn't risk it, but a few days can't make a difference can it? Can you tell I'm getting impatient?! I just want to get up duffed before I relapse which is unfortunately inevitable! :( At least being PG offers me some protection!

AmandaCooper · 12/10/2010 21:36

Yes the Christmas lights are now all up! I got an invitation to a christmas party yesterday.

nannyl · 12/10/2010 21:20

bebe really hope you are TTC too.

would be cool to be trying and then be pg together

bebejones · 12/10/2010 21:07

They are all very well and cute until you start potty training! :( Day from hell here!

But I still want another one! :o

How exciting Nannyl! Dec is fast approaching!

Really hoping I'll be with you in December. Just all depends on when AF shows up as I should be TTC before the 24th! Confused Although I'm not sure what harm a few days would actually do?! Hmm Of course is also dependant on DH getting his act together!

lol at TCOYF being our bible.... it is Smile

100years · 12/10/2010 19:38

I shall make it my mission to cheer people up if I can. :o When I am feeling cheerful that is.

I'm not on the pill, just using those horrible rubber things, Pah.....

No I don't want to stop taking it just like that and then realise I should have stopped taking it gradually. If I start it every other day for now and then maybe when my period arrives most of it will be out of my system, but still having the dregs for when I get my period, I'm hoping that it's kind of not really working anymore for me as I don't want more migraines, but if I get them then so be it.

AmandaCooper · 12/10/2010 19:32

Sorry 100years - xposted. Really good to have a bit of excitement on the thread. It will cheer us all up.

I was going to say I thought you meant it was the contraceptive pill that you were only taking every other day and I thought "ooh that's a good idea!". You meant your migraine pill but you've planted a naughty idea in my head now lol!

100years · 12/10/2010 19:31

My OH has just said something along the lines of 'is it wise being on a thread about waiting, isn't it just putting it in your face' I said, no because it's helping me realise I'm not the only one and it means I get to talk to others about it. He then said he thought it was a good thing.

AmandaCooper · 12/10/2010 19:27

Nannyl I am so so pleased for you! What lovely news. Fingers crossed for a swift conception! Your doctor sounds really nice.

Fluffydonkey you are not the only one planning to the nth degree! And it is nice to have an outlet to express all your broody madness. I don't think I can agree to lay off MN for a while. DH thinks it's "causing my madness" (by which he means wanting to have a baby after a year and a half of marriage and eight years together, at age 33, good jobs, supportive families, nice flat, etc) whereas I think it's the only thing keeping me sane!

I don't know what to advise about charting now for May next year. If you're both feeling broody and you start charting then I'm off to the bookies now to lay a bet that you conceive long before May! Have you bought a copy of our conception bible Taking Charge of Your Fertility yet? We really ought to have a reverent reading from it of a Sunday, it is our holy book !

100years · 12/10/2010 19:26

That thread is freakin hilarious.

Yep I still want one... :)

100years · 12/10/2010 19:18

squirrel, I really am excited, like a small child waiting for christmas, though it can't come soon enough!!! LOL No idea about the mirena coil, when I had the coil in the past it was the copper one without hormones so I could have got pg straight away after removal had we(me and Ex) been trying. I love the story about someone sending the DH off to bed because he was too sic to have a roast dinner!

fluffy, yep no criticism in here at all :o

Oooh Nanny, I like it when others are having their date moved forward too, I don't like it when it's going backwards for people. I'm technically at risk due to job and my work would offer it me when they start coming round, but I didn't want to wait in case something happens before then.

I too have thought about the school year thing, but tbh the broodiness in me has overwritten a lot of the ideas re waiting that I previously had!!!

Right this charting malarky, is this through TCOYF?

Away again this weekend :o Then it's only 2 weekends until I get whisked away woohoo.

Feeling quite tired still after last weekend and the plan to exercise tonight when I got home has gone out the window as I was just too hungry and tea won't be ready for aaaaaages! So a cereal bar to fill the gap has been my saviour

nannyl · 12/10/2010 18:32

Hello
just thought id update you on my Drs appt.

Well, the Drs ONLY have funding to give flu jab to at risk people and / or pregnant people.

therefor if you are not at risk, then you have to wait until you become pregnant before being eligable under the NHS Angry (but can have it privately and pay)

Dr was fab, and she said "the official government advise" is to have the flu jab when pg.... BUT her own personal opinion was that she herself would not have such jabs while actually pregnant either, and even as a pregnant GP, the past couple of winters has opted for her own personal reasons not to have the jab while pregnant.

Obviously she cant advise that, but says as a healthy adult, she would not have that jab while pregnant (and didnt)....

so i will NOT be having the flu jab when oregnant either.
And im not going to worry about it any more Smile

Other TTC questions were are you taking folic acid, (yes) and i also said i was giving up caffine / alcohol and liver, and she was happy Smile

also said once i find out im pg i do NOT need a Drs appt, and to just make an appt with midwife straight away, (but also, if i get pg when i want to (told her months ago of my plans) that she wants me to pop my head round the door to tell her personally Smile

FluffyDonkey · 12/10/2010 17:14

Then again, we're looking at TTC May 2011 at the earliest so maybe I shouldn't be charting yet.

Argh! The frustration!

FluffyDonkey · 12/10/2010 17:07

Nanny - "fingers crossed should be the eldest as opposed to the youngest in the year, which is all i want"

I was speaking to a friend the other day, saying I want a child born between Jan & Aug so that if we move back to the UK, the child would be in the equivalent school year and not in the year below. She said I was overthinking things!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who plans like this Wink

Must be so exciting to be so close to TTC!

To those who are charting ovulation - I'm assuming you're not on the pill? Feel like I'm missing an important step... Confused

nannyl · 12/10/2010 16:58

hello all

im back, after a manic week.. been a bridesmaid at best freinds wedding and traveled 600+ miles so been a bit busy but am back now.... until i go on holiday again on friday!

JS good luck for interview tomorrow
welcome fluffy donkey to the train Smile
hope Mrbebe recovers soon.
AC sorry to hear you are back on pill, i think an accident sounds like a plan Wink

Im off to the Drs in a min for a pre ttc appointmeny=t and also to find out if i can have the flu jab before pregnant as i do NOT want it when pg.

Been discussing things with OH and we have decided that we have put TTC forward to December Smile. Decs period should be due dec 7th (i think) so SWI weekend before Xmas so would have a sep 12 due date so fingers crossed should be the eldest as opposed to the youngest in the year, which is all i want. which means as of Nov 25, no more contraception of any form at all Shock Smile.... which suddenly seems very very close, but i cant wait.
although not looking forward to an alcohol and caffeine free Xmas!!!

After our incident 2 weeks ago, i can conform that i am NOT pregnant Smile, and im pleased i do charting cause other wise i would have wasted another pg test.

I love that fact that by charting you can at least, be pretty sure you are not pregnant a few days before due on Smile

Will let you know what GP says about flu jab and about pre TTC stuff, though im pretty sure i / we already know it!

FluffyDonkey · 12/10/2010 15:12

Hi all - thanks for the lovely welcome Smile
Finally somewhere I can be broody without criticism Grin

Having said that, DH is as broody as I am, but as our conversations tend to go round in circles it's nice to chat to others!

Oooh interviews - good luck JS.
I'd like to get a new job too before TTC. My current job is good and interesting but very long hours, lots of stress and business trips...DH is in the same line of work and we've agreed that 2 of us with uncertain hours is not good when there are children! So I'm looking around for a new job. However we have also agreed that if I don't find one "in time" then we go ahead with our TTC plans anyway.

squirrel007 · 12/10/2010 13:53

You sound very excited 100years!! I couldn't quite believe my DH was on board with the idea until we actually started ttc! Not long to go for you now :)

I love the toddler confessions thread - I think it's making me far more broody than any other!

Anyone know whether removing the mirena would alter your cycle? If not, I think I probably ov'd over the weekend, so now I just have to wait and see Confused

Sorry to hear about all the manflu going around. My DH said this morning that he thinks he has a cold, but it hasn't got to the stage of being life threatening yet. I did read on another thread how someone cooked a lovely roast dinner and insisted that her DH was too I'll to eat so sent him off to bed.

100years · 12/10/2010 13:27

That's my migraine preventer not the pill. Sorry should have clarified

100years · 12/10/2010 13:25

Well I didn't take my preventative tab last night decided to alternate the days I have them as opposed to going cold turkey as my oh called it. Does mean another step in that direction :) he knows as I told him what I was doing and there was no it's too early to stop them conversation.

Sorry if I'm not helping others by being excited. I'm trying to keep a check on it.

Will have to have a look at that thread later when I'm home.

Hope you're all ok.

bebejones · 12/10/2010 12:02

JS - I love the toddler confessions too. DD added a few of her own the other day! Wink I think I need to join you in the padded room, feel like I'm going out of my mind, even with a stroppy potty training toddler in tow!
